Quite a difference when you step outside this morning. We have rain in the forecast for today. Right now it is just off to our west and northwest. Thats the area of showers that were watching. Mostly as we go into lunch time today. Right around the middle of the day, youll notice showers, even some thunderstorms possible. Right now in philadelphia, 63 degrees. By 10 00 a. M. Only, 67. Well see the approach of rain closer to lunch time. 68 degrees by noon. By the evening commute, 4 00 p. M. , were looking at clearing taking place. It will not a large amount of time that wool see the rain but we will certainly be watching it for you. Well take a closer look at your neighborhood weather. Lets get a check of the roadways with Jessica Boyington. We are starting on the vine street expressway where we are closed for construction. I did just see a vehicle move through the area, though. There may be off ramps that are opening a little bit early. For the most part we still have that Police Activity on the scene. You see some flashing lights up ahead. These are our cameras around 24th street, westbound and eastbound on the vine street expressway is currently closed for construction in between broad street and the schuylkill. Watch for some more construction. The on and off ramps are closed and theres construction on 95 at this point as well. North and southbound right around street road. Pay attention to that. Now to breaking news. An egyptair flight from cairo to beijing has been forced to make an emergency lanning in uzbekistan. Egyptian officials says someone called in a bomb threat. Everyone is off the plane and its being searched. This comes a month after an egyptair flighted crashed on its way to cairo. A local mcdonalds is closed after a shooting at a local restaurant. What are Police Telling you, matt . Police are still at the scene right now. Ill step out of the way. This is on the 200 block of main street. It happened right there at the mcdonalds drivethrough. A witness told us off camera two men were chasing a guy on foot and shot him about ten times. Police haventc told us anythi about suspects or a motive just yet. A Council Source tells nbc 10 the council does have the votes to pass a bill. It may be lower than the proposed 3 cent per ounce tax that mayor jim kenney is calling for. Were working very hard. Council is doing their due diligence. Were working with them, answering questions theyre asking. There will be competing rallies over the sugary drink tax outside. Two groups will be outside city hall. Philadelphia against the grocery tax coalition,c saying the tax will hurt ordinary citizens as well as businesses. The teamsters will also rally. Philadelphia coming in 63 degrees along the shore, close to 60. This is about 10 to 15 degrees cooler than we were yesterday morning at this time. Take a look at some of our new jersey neighborhoods, mullica hill coming in 56 degrees. Pitmann 61. 58 in clayton. 59 in medford. 62 cinnaminson and mt. Laurel. If you remember yesterday morning at this time, we were right around 70 degrees. 58 hamilton, princeton coming in at 48 degrees, 60 in lumberton. It feels nicer this morning and with the lower humidity, much more comfortable. Wind speeds are in from the northwest currently around 5 to 10 miles an hour. It will be a breezy day today. Keep that in mind and along with the breeze, well have showers moving in. In the meantime, the cold front already moved through. Thats that cooler air coming in and thats where well be breezy. Flashing lights right there, thats the Police Officer blocking off the westbound side. No access right now to westbound vine. What will be different about this production . Tracy, first of all, this is the first time that the walnut street theater has ever done Something Like this in its history, put on a performance only for kids with autism. As you might expect, its taken a lot of preparation to get these Philadelphia School students ready for the experience. Many have never been to a play because the sights and sounds on the stage are just too much for them to handle and process. Todays performance of miss nelson has a field day is different. The actors will speak to the students throughout the show. The show will actually stop at points so the actors can interact with the audience. The theater lights and music will also be toned down so not to frighten or excite the kids. It helps kids understand empathy and all kids, thats what we do in our education program, put them in situations where they have to relate and step outside themselves, which is a unique challenge for kids with autism. If you can imagine this, later this morning, hundreds of autistic students along with their caregivers, up to 600 people in total will file into the walnut street theater behind me.
