New this morning, a man is in the hospital after being stabbed several times. Police have made an arrest in the case. It happened at a home on acorn street and lansdale, Montgomery County, around 10 00 last night. Were still working to find out the victims condition and more information on what led to the stabbing. To the breakin and rape for the victim is a 6yearold girl. Police say a man climbed into the girls bed as she slept and assaulted her. Matt delucia is live in hatfield township. This girls family played a big role in getting this guy arrested, right . Reporter they did, chris. And police say the suspect in this case oscar rivera herrera,s was in the area, broke in at the hatfield Village Apartments monday morning. At this point the victims older brother discovered the suspect in bed with his 6yearold sister, police say the boy then ran to get his parents who then called 911. The childrens stepfather held Rivera Rivera at knife point until officers arrived. A neighbor told us her son is a kindergarten classmate of the suspects son. He is a really great father. Thats what blows my mind. He has a kid of his own that same age. How could he do Something Like that . Reporter police tell us that herrera admitted to breaking into the same apartment two months ago but no one was home. He is being held on 1 million bail. A man who killed a Philadelphia Police officer will spend 20 to 40 years in prison. Chancier mcfarland took a deal for his testimony against jones who was convicted and is serving a life sentence. Prosecutors say jones was the triggerman. And mcfarland admitted his role in the robbery and murder of officer moses walker jr. It happened in august 2012. Walker was in plain clothes walking home after his shift when jones and mcfarland tried to rob him and jones shot him. Walker was a 19year veteran of the Philadelphia Police department. A skunk removed from a neighborhood tested positive for rabies. Health Officials Say the skunk came into contact with a family dog. The dog is now up to date on its vaccines and will have to be observed for 45 days as a precaution. But before today even came there was one class we were invited to that was already thanking the service men and women who spent years serving our country. Yovs at the day school about 80 students got a real lesson in what its like being a veteran. The principal invited several veterans in the community, one students father who is active in the service joined as well. The kids are young but we saw they were hungry for answers. Some asked whats the scariest think youve ever done . Did you miss your family while you served . What made you decide to serve our country . The students also had thank you notes prepare forward the veterans and before each of the veterans they read those notes.
