Well, aside from the cold weather issues those who take the betcy ross bridge could encounter problems because of this fiery crash. A route near that bridge is still closed this morning after a tanker caught fire in penssauken Camden County yesterday. The truck was carrying 8,000 gallons of gasoline when it crashed on route 90 yesterday morning. Nbc 10s first alert reporter jillian mele has a closer look at the impact of that fire and traffic. An amber alert is in effect this morning after a man violently took his 3yearold daughter from her mom in New Castle County. Police say that girl is in imminent danger. The child was taken from her home in new castle. Police believe her father may be taking her to new jersey or new york city. Nbc 10s matt delucia is live in new castle for us now. Matt, what do we know . Whats the latest on this search for the little girl and has there been any sign of her in the past nine hours . Reporter not as of yet, chris. But the abduction happened in an apartment complex down the road from here. But within the past hour we have seen police set up in this development here on the road. We have seen them shining lights on some of the homes here in this development, but officers right now are not telling us much. Here is what we know. Around 6 45 last night New Castle County police were called to a Domestic Assault in the 800 block of east bassen road. The woman said the exboyfriend came to her home attacked her and left with their 3yearold daughter. This is the man, 39yearold Michael Trotta. The girl was wearing a purple puffy coat pink pants and sneakers. The amber alert is in effect throughout new jersey and delaware. He may be heading to new york city because he has friends and family there. They also believe the girl is in imminent danger based on comments that he reportedly made. For now we are live in new castle, matt delucia, nbc 10 news. All right. New from overnight, a stabbing inside dave busters in penns landing before 11 00 last night. Police did question one person at the scene but have not told us if they charged anyone or what led to the stabbing. New from overnight, fire destroyed a family home in gloucester county. No one was injured. And firefighters say no one was at home at the time. The crews had to bring in heated tankers to fight the fire because of the extreme cold outside. 4 04 now and happening later today, new Jersey Governor Chris Christie is expected to propose new cuts to pension and Health Benefits during his budget address. This comes one day after a judge ordered the state to put more than 1. 5 billion into the pension fund. The Public Workers sued christie for reducing payments last year and this year. The governor says christie will outline the danger of spiraling pension costs and propose a serious of changes. In philadelphia the Police Department may have to hand over records for cases in which officers shot suspects. Last night the Police Advisory commission unanimously voted to subpoena records of those shootings. The Advisory Commission is a board made up of civilians responsible for monitoring the police force. The director says they have been asking for the records since february 13th but the Philadelphia Police department has refused to release them. Many other jurisdictions around the country provide significantly more information about shootings than this Police Department does here in philadelphia and we are trying to change that. Nbc 10 reached out to the Philadelphia Police Department Last night and they say anything involving a subpoena is handled by their Law Department and that department cant comment until later this morning. Well, a bad breakup may have touched off a wild chase in the Lehigh Valley yesterday that ended with Police Shooting and killing the suspect. Skyforce 10 was over plymouth street and allentown yesterday. We brought this to you as breaking news. The man wanted for stabbing his exgirlfriend crashed his car during a police chase and then the suspect went after the officers. They used a taser on him but it didnt stop him. The suspect, jerome nichols, then stabbed an officer several times. The officer shot and killed nichols. The officer who was stabbed and his exgirlfriend are expected to recover. And yesterday at scheels yesterday in morery toups, edgar vi viguera was shot. Police have not said exactly what led to the shooting. Today the Montgomery County will have tests revealed near the former willow grove station. The Environmental Protection agency has been testing the private wells. Police say the driver of the tanker truck which was carrying 8,000 gallons of fuel lost control on the exit ramp between routes 130 and 90 in penssauken and overturned. The fuel spilled onto the road and poured down the embankment toward a neighborhood. The driver of the tanker truck and a responding firefighter retreated for minor injuries. Now, on our way here we took a quick detour and drove through the neighborhoods that back up to that fiery scene. The gasoline smell is still very much present in those neighborhoods. Coming up in the next hour were working on a story about what people were saying in the moments right after that fiery explosion and what they were saying throughout the afternoon. We have new information in the Etan Patz Murder case. Pedro hernandez who lives in Burlington County is on trial for the murder of the 6yearold boy in 1979. Boxes of evidence were found in a Harlem Police station containing things like Police Records and notes from the district attorneys office. Now the defense could ask for a mistrial or recall witnesses who have already testified. Hernandez confessed to killing patz but pleaded not guilty. The boys body was never found. The movie Charlie Hebdo released its latest cover since two were killed at the cartoonist magazine. It features dog.
