The judge ordered cannon to serve one day in jail which will time. After the ruling the assistant District Attorney felt the punishment was just. We felt like it was circumstances. He was very forthright. He admitted what he did. He faced consequences. And his vote did not count. The attorney made a brief statement. Ferguson said this case shines a light on a bigger issue in the disenfranchisement of felons. We are a country now that incarcerates more people than any other country in the world and the numbers are growing. And right now we have millions of citizens who cannot vote. And you might recall cannon was placed on house arrest when he was charged for this voter fraud back in 2014 brought up in court today again the da said perhaps there was a reap there was leniency. And the prosecutor said there was no way to cure what happened or what the jurors heard and the judge returned and said he would be granting a motion that to have a bench trial meaning a judge will hear the case not a jury.
