>> hello, i am jennifer gilbert. >> and i am jeff barnd. 3 pg county police officers are locked up tonight under arrest after a federal investigation. >>the arrest are part of a larger investigation into corruption in prince george's @%unty. keith daniels is live at county police headquarters where the chief is speaking out on the officer's arrest. >> pg county said to the officer to say report to the nearest district when they arrived fbi agents arrested them. one of the officers already on suspension for drug charges. tonight he faces new charges. along with the others. >> at prince george's county police headquarters. a shakeup for the department. fbi agents arrest three police officers on two separate fbi probes. according to the indictments, in one investigation, officer sim mick three year veteran is accused of possessing illegal guns and distributing cocaine. in the other investigation, two officers, richard della burk, and officer kim are accused of being involved in an extortion %->> it is disgraceful. >> the police chief on the officer's allege criminal misconduct. >> out of 2000 employees, even a handful,,tarnishs our badge. i am disappointed. >> federal agents raided 25 businesses in connection with the extortion scheme. including tick-tock liquors in hyattsville. according to the indictment, owners, howard county couple paid the officers to ensure safe transport and illegal distribution of untaxed cigarettes and alcohol. in total, federal agents arrested nine people. with their ffcus on the officers. >> police officers are given badges and guns to prevent crimes. but the indictments in these cases allege that three police officers used their badges and guns to commit crimes. >> misconduct and criminall3 behavior, that is totally unacceptable. not acceptable unmm watch.@ >>well, each officer has been suspended without pay. pending the outccme of the criminal investigation. in pg county. keith daniels, fox 45 news at 10:00. >> well prince george's county executive jack johnson is back at work today. just days after his arrest by federal ageets on corruption charges. >> michael buczyner hhs reaction tonight from johnson as he went to work today. michael? >> jeff and jennifer, jack johnson returned to work three days after he and his wife were -rrested in a political corruption probe. johnson spoke briefly today giving the appearance that he is not running or hiding. >> no comments from the johnsons at the mitchellville home this morning as wife leslie, newly elected county councilwoman left followed by the county executive. jack johnson spoke to reporters later outside offhis office. >> good morning everybody. just want to say, come out and say that, you know, my family3 and i are doing really well. you know, strong. >> embattled county executive said he wanted to address county residents and thank well wishers. @% i received probably more than 1000 telephone calls, and messages from all thh churches. >> johnson and his wife were arrested friday. investigators say the county executive allegedly gave real estate developers favors in exchange for money. according to an affidavit, moments before fbi agentt entered the johnson's home his wife leslie called her husband ban and asking what she should do about the cash in the basement. jack johnson replies, put it in your bra and walk out or something. - don'ttknow what to do. leslie johnson then asked her husbanddwhat to do about a $100,000 check he allegedly receivee from a developer. leslie johnson asked, do you want me to flush it down the toilet? jack johnnon replies, yes, flush -hat. monday he ducked questions about his own case, and the police officers arrested. >>i am not commenting. i made my statement. say good morning. >> day woull be focused on a county affordability report. >> looking at expenses for next year and see if we can put a plan, you know, plan for the incoming county executive. >> johnson said that he is here for the duration of his term. electronic monitoring bracelet he is said to be wearing. >> now newly elected executive baker avoided questions about he takes office on december 6. michael buczyner, fox 45 news at 10:00. >> michael, thank you. >> this comes at the end of johnson's tenure as county executive after eight years. prior to that he was state's attorney for prince george's county and spent nearly a decade as an irs attorney. >> arundel county police are still looking for three suspects, after a man dies in a pizza shop robbery. police say four people tried to rob mr. wings and pizza friday night. michele florez was there at the time. when he told the suspects to leave. he was shot. and employees watched as it happened. >> they come out, and i say what's going on here? the guys show me the gun and they say you go back. so i just step back. and the next second, dead. fired shot. >> we asked him, is he with a. is he alive? they are like he is dead. then that's when we fell in tears. >> police arrested 17-year-old vincent buner of pasadena saturday. charged as an adult. with murder. police are searching for the three others. >> man arrested for stabbing his 18-year-old nephew to death. in highllndtown. duane hopkins charged with first-degree murder. david hopkins died at the hospital later on. >> three arrested for a stabbing at arundel mills mall. alan, and sims stabbed a person %-last night.ourt about 8:30 trauma and later released. the third suspect, police tell us is a juvenile. >> a teenager hit during an arrest over the weekend is now in critical condition at johns hopkins hospital. the teen was hit in an alley along pressman street sunday morning. they saw the teen give a driver in a car a bag full of pills. the teen then took off down the alley on a bike. the officer in a cruiser trying to cut him off. ended up hitting him. police say the pills contained heroin, and the teen may face charges as a juvenile. >> an area of baltimore county is shut down, with roads blocked off. after shots were fired. at least one river was struck. another taken to the hospital. as crime and justice reporter joy lepola explains. police are still searching for one, or possibly, two shooters. >> a night of terror for drivers. after they becooe a moving target for a snipper. >> it was scary. >> immediately. >> victims claim that they believe their windows were being shot at. >> roads blocked off. >> not taken lightly. >> as the search for shooters begins. >> they started to settup a %-that were going into the woods and were calling in the helicopters. >> gordon hector took a shot to the leg. >> police say, at least, five drivers were hit along this stretch of road. many who were out enjoying the night's weather we were experiencing. a leash sureey sunday drive that sadly ended in terror. >> it was absolutely shocking. hit me in the leg. >> ice fragments would be a good way to describe it. >> glass shattered in the face of matt, who was a passenger in one of the cars targeted. he did not know what to think. >> i didn't know if the window was hit by a falling rock. there was, you know, taller cliffs nearby. i didn't know if a stray bullet from a hunter had gone through our window. my initial thought is what happened? am i okay? >> he wasn't. a trip to the hospital was in line. it wasn't until gordon hector pulled over that police learned the shooters were not fiiing bullets buu bbs. >> i thought it was a bird that flew into the car. but when i pulled over and saw the little bb i knew it was, you know, somebody had done it. >> it appears that they were hiding in the woods and firing the bb gun. >> leslie they will weapon than initially thought. but the end result cculd have been just as fatal. >> could have been extremely dangerous situation. and not necessarily just the bb, but you know swerving in that@ area where the road is so winding. it really could have caused an accident. >> it is unfortunate that people have to do these things to seemingly random things to people that don't deserve it. >> joy lepola, fox 45 news at 10:00. >> police are hoping the public may provide some information to help them. >> police arrest a man for breaking inside of the car of the mayor's husband. 49-year-old anthony thomas was in the mayor's neighborhood sunday. they caught him on camera near the car and used it to positively identify him. police say he admitted to the break in. >> prices at the gas pumps going up and average cost for a gallon of regular unleaded gas rose about a dime this month alone. >> in time for the holiday travel season.3 but is there any relief in sight?
