happened over the weekend. police say one man was shot another badly beaten and others injured. a machine gun found at the scene. megan gilliland joins us now with the latest on the investigation. good morning, megan. >> reporter: good morning, patrice, there are three men of interest on this fight. police brought them in for questioning, and commissioner bealefeld it's another example of big guys with big guns. he is man you should be too. >> reporter: at the sheraton hotel. guests learned what happened just hours before. at 3:00 on sunday morning, roughly 25 people of the baltimore area were at a birthday party inside of in two adjoining rooms when a fight broke out. woodland pulled out a machine gun and shot towson. >> woodland was disarmed and beat been by two men who were apparently were friends of marquiss johnson. >> reporter: he was beaten so badly that he was taken to shock trauma where he remains in critical condition. while police believe this was an isolated incident, it brings to light a big issue in the city and a call for action. >> we want people to get angry about that and do something about it, not all of this teeth gnashing of whether it's safe or not safe, doin do something abot guys with guns. >> reporter: police are hoping to make arrests including charges attempted first-degree murder are pending against woodland and omar, woodland is already on probation for drunk charges. megan gilliland, fox 45 mourning. a man is killed in a parkville apartment fire. it happened yesterday morning. residents say they smelled smoke and called 911. when firefighters arrived, the apartment was completely filled with smoke and the 96 years old occupant was found lying on the kitchen floor. >> yes, the situation in this case is that the gentlemen appeared to be cooking, caused the fire and the apartment filled with smoke, smoke is often just as deadly as fire can be. they building was evacuated as a precaution but no one else was hurt. senator mikulski is asking for an immediate appeal for rachael wilson's children. wilson was a city cadet who died in january of 2007 after taking live in a live burn exercise. just a few weeks ago her two children were denied federal survivors benefits because wilson did not qualify as a firefighter since she was still in trainer. mick cull 63 appeal goes to senator holder snrz there'. there's new information about one of the jurors who convicted mayor dixon. juror number 3 had prior contact with dixon when she was a city council president. she won and got a shopping spree at a local shopping store. dixon was at the shopping spree, but she didn't remember dixon being there and she didn't realize that the contest was sponsored by the city. it's unclear whether the defense plans to use this new information as grounds for requesting a mistrial. meanwhile mayor dixon remains on the job and over the weekend she got mixed reaction from residents over at the mayor's christmas parade. >> the parade took place yesterday at hal hampden and boh supporters and opponents made their feelings known following the conviction of the embezzlement. >> i'm not going to miss the parade because she is mayor. but she is a thief and she needs to be removed from office. >> as for her part, dixon said it was great being at the parade kicking off the holiday season. >> recalled to the magic of the people on board of this ship are thinking? >> it's 7:00 and most the folks at this ship were asleep. a message had come in that they were attacked and sank a submarine. the officer on the deck made a sensible call, and called everybody up and general quarters and put ammunition up to the guns and brought down the awning. the ship was ready an hour later when pearl harbor was attacked. >> reporter: a lot of people on board thought it was just a drill. they were shooting dummies at first initially. >> everybody thought it was a drill and he had them brought back down and brought live am mow up. carroll county, there's power outage due to down wires at mount avenue. there's a lot of traffic lights that are out, and route 30 is going to be shutdown at the mod avenue intersection. stick with route 30 bypass just know that you will need to use extra caution as you are traveling through that area. so far from the green headed from the top end toward 695. that is good news right there. liberty road, checking in on the inner and outer loop lanes. so far the cars are cruising along at top speeds. we're liking this monday morning, that is for sure. moving through the parkville area, black ice that is still out there in the northeast corner in fact. it's at mccormick avenue, but this is a true testament that we need to use caution when you travel out there this morning just in case you come across more black ice through your region. as for the beltway and the main lines we had an earlier disabled vehicle. it's finally in the clearing stages but a few cars disabled there. we had delays that are forming but now the coast is going to be clear, just a little bit more congestion than usual because of the earlier accident. we do have trouble in the same direction across the talk about out there at mccormick avenue, this is due to the fact that you need to use have caution as you are heading out this morning because you can find it at your neck of the woods. we need to talk about 895. in fact, we can show you what it looks like at o'donald street. take a look at that. this is because traffic is held on the southbound lanes of 895 at the harbor tunnel. it's all due to a disabled vehicle. you will want to stick with 95 as an alternate route. so far it's going to be a calm ride there. it's running pretty normal in fact, so we're looking at an 8-minute drive, 53 miles per hour so we're in the green. on the outer lanes of the beltway, that volume is increasing a 13-minute ride at 46 miles per hour. take a look at this, 44 miles per hour and a 14 minute clip from 795 toward 95. we're doing much better on 95, from 695 up toward route 32, an 11-minute ride, traveling at 61 miles per hour. that's a look at the morning travels, patrice, back to you. 7:04 on fox 45 morning news. the suspects involved in a violent shooting inside of the sheraton hotel downtown could face charges this morning. it all happened over the weekend. police say one man was shot, another badly beaten and others injured and a machine gun was found at the scene. megan gilliland joins us now with the latest on the investigation, good morning, megan. >> reporter: good morning parks tris. there are three men of interest in this fight. police brought them in for questioning and plan to make arrests as early as today. commissioner bealefeld says it's another example of bad guys with big guns. he is angry about it and says you should be, too. at the sheraton hotel on west fayette street yesterday. >> i'm shocked, actually. >> reporter: guests learned what happened inside just hours before. >> like hearing about it just made me really nerves roshz >> reporter: around 3:00 sunday morning, 20 people from the baltimore area were at a birthday party when a fight broke out. raymond woodland pulled out a tech 9 machine gun and shot marquis johnson once in the face. >> following the shooting, woodland was disarmed and beaten by two men, abdullah omar, and dominican der son who were friends of marquis johnson. >> reporter: woodland was beaten so badly he had to be taken to shock trauma where he remains in critical condition. >> like even on our floor. >> reporter: while police believe this is an isolated incident it brings to light a big issue in the city and a call to action. >> we want people to get angry about that and do something about it. not all of this teeth gnashing about whether it's bad, do something about bad guys with gun. that is what we need. >> reporter: police are hoping to make arrests today. charges including attempted first-degree murder are pending against woodland, omar, and anderson. woodland who is the accused shooter is already on probation for drug charges. megan gilliland, fox 45 morning news. there is new information about one of the jurors who convicted mayor sheila dixon and some legal analysts say it could be ground for a mistrial. juror number 3 had prior contact with ki dixon when she was city council president. she won a contest sponsored by a city agency back in 2006 and got a shopping spree at a shopping store. dixon was at the event, the problem is she did not disclose the information. she says she didn't remember dixon being there realized that the contest was sponsored by the city. it's unclear whether the defense plans to use this new information as grounds for requesting a mistrial. meanwhile, mayor dixon remains on the job and over the weekend she got some mixed reaction from city residents during a public appearance at the 37th annual mayor's christmas parade. >> the parade took place yesterday in hampden and both supporters and opponents of mayor dixon made their feelings known following her conviction for embezzlement. >> i'm not going to miss the parade just 'cause she is the mayor right now. she is a thief and needs to be pulled from office. >> we need to show her some support and let her know people still love her in baltimore. >> mayor dixon said it was great to be at the parade and kicking off the holiday season. women are coming forward to say that they had extra marital affairs with tiger woods. two more women were romantically involved with the wolfer and that brings the total number of women who had relationship with woods or who are accused of it, to 6. woods has not commented on the rumors when he posted a a statement on his website referring to transgressions. so days in american history. this ship looks pretty good for being a ship that is 78 years old. tell us more about this ship and why today is so important? >> the ship was in hawaii on december 7th, 1941. these racks were filled with sailors and at 7:00 in the morning, the word went through that everybody was to get up and go top side and man your battle stations and sort of an organized chaos. if you can imagine, everybody hopping out of racks and putting on their shoes and clothes, and it was headed up to the levels. this morning we were walking in each other's way. imagine down here at 120 guys. >> reporter: but today, it's got to be different, though. you are down here all the time but you know what today means. >> yeah, today is a very special day. today is the day that we recognize that this country went to war and the reason that we went to war is because we were attacked on a sunday morning and a lot of folks who woke up in racks just like these weren't around to go to bed in the night. >> reporter: we will have pearl harbor survivors with us, today, right? >> yes, we will. we will have a memorial service at 11:45 as 11:45 and last abour at the out portion of the everywhere. we are struggling get above freezing with temperatures in the upper 20s. it looks like we will be seeing that pattern over the next few days, temps overnight and below freezing and waking up to subfreezing temperatures. take a look at the hd radar scan right now. can you see from hagerstown, there's a little bit of a snow flurry burst out there. this is the next system that pushes through, about late tomorrow night starting some rain and possibly some locations could be seeing a mix of freezing rain and sleet, not a snow event as we see it now. in green bay as we speak, you want to he know what the weather is going -- to know what the weather is going to be like this there. it's snowing, 64 degrees as the ravens take on the packers. 29 tonight here at home. again we're getting to the pattern of subfreezing temperatures so we're going to tell you over the next few mornings, bundle on up, because we won't be seeing the mercury getting above freezing until mid-morning hours and the cold air will be in place tomorrow night especially out in the western suburbs. that is why we think there could be a little frozen precipitation. the temperatures will get up above freezing and it won't be a big problem. taking a look at what the forecast is like with the clouds and radar is in place. we will see the clouds thickening a little bit in the afternoon and a little girls who said they were sexually assaulted on their way home from school. stephen joins us more to this story. there's got to be more to this story. >> it's a very interesting story because it sort of gets to the issue of helping police and what happens when community activities get extremely involved and what sometimes goes wrong. >> explain what led up to his arrest. >> well, basically, what he says is that he was helping two girls who say they were sexually assaulted in the neighborhood. he is the president of the union square community association. >> so he they come to him because someone assaulted him down the street. the police officer asked what are you going to do about this? somewhat of a confrontation ensues. before he knows it, he is in the back of a police car in handcuffs. police say that he interfered with the investigation. so it's a two-sided story at this point. >> he says all he did he questioned to the police as to what is going to happen next. the police said we're handling this, you don't need to be involved. >> because he said he works closely with police, he donates money to buy bulletproof vests. he is used to taking a very active role in protecting the community as president of the association. >> why would police react in that manner. >> i went and said that he specifically interfered with the investigation. i don't have details on that. that is all they shared with me but they said that anyone who interfered is going to be arrested. that is the story that the police are giving at this point. >> someone questioned whether or not he needed to be arrested. was there another measure that needed to be taken? >> here is a guy who is rebuilding houses and has created a community association that has 100 members from scratch and really contributes to the community. he feels like his sort of sense of community and sense of safety is now violated because he is now weary of police when he used to work with them. >> that is a fox 45 morning news. arrests could be made morning in this weekend's violent hotel shooting downtown. one man was shot and another one badly beaten. there's three men of interest and this morning megan gilliland is live with more on that investigation. actually, we will get back to that in a few minutes. an elderly man is killed in a parkville apartment fire. it happened at 11:00 yesterday morning. neighbors at the ridge garden apartments say they smelled smoke and called 911. when firefighters arrived, the apartment was completely filled with smoke and the 96 years old occupant was found lying on the floor. the police spokesman said in that situation the gentleman appeared to be cooking, caused a fire, the apartment filled with smoke and the smoke is often just as deadly as fire can be. the building was evacuated. no one else was hurt. senator barbara muck cull 6i makes an appeal on behalf of two children whose mother was killed while training to become a firefighters. she is asking for immediate appeals hearing for wilson's children. wilson was a fire cadet who died in february of 2007 after taking live in a live burn exercise. just a few weeks ago her two children were denied federal surviesurvivor's benefits becaue wilson did not qualify as a firefighter because she was still in training. the appeal goes to erik holder. cardin will assess the damage to the ocean city during last month's nor'easter. he has a tour of the city's beaches planned for 10:30 this morning. this comes after a recent announcement that the clean up is expected to cost around $10 million. ocean city lost about 600,000 cubic yards of sand when the remnants of tropical storm ida moved through the area. women continue to come forward claiming they had extra marital affairs with tiger woods. over the weekend different british tabloids ran stories with two women who were report lead involved with the golfer and the new york daily news linked him to another woman. that brings the total number of women who said they had relationships with woods or who are accused of it to six. woods has not commented on the rumors since last week when he posted a statement on his website this much historic importance. we are on board of the taney. i'm here with paul who is the curator of the ships in baltimore. this time of day, back then 68 years ago. what was happening on this ship in ho honolulu. >> this ship like the rest of the american fleet was totally unaware of what was going to happen. they were in honolulu, normal sunday peace time routine. the signs were there for the fleet at large and the attack came as a surprise. >> reporter: from what i heard the role of this ship once things got going was to protect the power sources in hawaii. >> she happened to be tied up on pier 6 at honolulu next to the power plant. because of that they were in position when japanese planes over flew the city during the attack to open fire with their antiaircraft bombs. they got a lot of credit for that. >> reporter: this ship was built in the 1930s. it still looks good today. >> it was a coast guard ship. after world war ii, she was put right back in service doing her peace time coast guard duties and that went right on to 1986. by 1960s, this was the only ship still in commission, the united states vessel that had seen action in 1971. all the others were gone at that point. >> reporter: give us an idea of what is going to happen today, a way to commemorate this day and acknowledge pearl harbor survivors. >> today we will hold the annual ceremony on board in which we will have veterans of all services and all periods but especially members of the pearl harbor association. this ship is an honorary member of that association which i think it's a great eight degrees colder than nor normal for our daytime high and overnight low. we're getting into a bit of a cold wedged. we are still two weeks away from a preview of mother nature. the cold dragging a little bit of precipitation. the dividing line as usual here in maryland will be seeing a rain event but then sleet and freezing rain at some locations at the temperatures start to drop tomorrow night. take a look at the future scan. you will see the clouds thicken throughout the day. we will get sunshine, but then the clouds will take over through tomorrow and that is what we think, as late as maybe, 6:00 or 7:00 we will see the first start of precipitation start to work its way into our area. forecast looking like this, 45 degrees along the eastern shore today with partly cloudy skies. central maryland will be pushing right around those fox 45 degrees for the daytime high, and overnight lows in the upper 20s once again tonight. garrett county gets a mixed snow flurry activity with sunny skies later this afternoon and 40 degrees. we will stay in the mid-40s but then we see the temperature overnight tuesday into wednesday dropping. that is why we have a 60% chance of rain and/or freezing rain and/or sleet, how is that for and/or, 43 degrees, 39, 40, 42, and look at the overnight temperatures. they will stay below freezing over the next seven days. so it is that time of year morning rush is on. we can show you what the speeds are out there. look at these numbers, 24-miles per hour on the west side of the beltway near liberty road and 32 traveling through catonsville. a pretty slow go through if you're traveling through the area. will you want to slow down wherever you're traveling, though. we do in fact, have black ice at mccormick at ches sheas shecsco. as far as 95, the cars are if the yellow and it's because of an accident on the southbound lanes that is now clear at eastern avenue. you can stick with 895, you can see the cars in the green traveling through the harbor tunnel. further up on the beltway, checking in at harford road at the outer loop lanes, here it is, reduced speeds pretty much the usual deal from harford headed toward towson. headed toward the 83, nothing to get in your way on the outer loop lanes, but the inner loop lanes you are seeing a bit of a go traveling through the jfx. the same of a deal from 795 the number of women who supposedly had affairs with tiger woods is now up to six. several new reports ran over the weekend linking the golfer to more women. woods has not commented on the women since last week when he posted a message on his website to drain transgressions. so far his sponsors aristicking with him. that brings us to the question of the day. should woods lose any sponsor deals. our first caller is sherawa. >> possibly, freezing rain and even freezing sleet. >> that is even harder to drive in. >> you can't shovel freezing rain or sleet. but not all locations will get the temperature once again it will be crucial. we're counting it down to winter. that is fall snow that we had. did you notice the difference. >> no. >> you will notice the difference heading out this morning because it is indeed cold. that is the story this morning, no frozen precip. we have been struggling to get above the freezing mark and it will take an hour or two to get above 32. that is the system we have been talking about. as you can see it's bringing rain and snow and sleet out to our west as we said earlier. green bay wisconsin getting some snow but by game time it will be chilly out there. kind of balmy for green bay. the temperatures will stay in the 20s, 35 and 35 at lunchtime. let's check in with candace dold. that is the only thing hot out over there that is heating up the roadways. candace. >> reporter: thank you, tony. we do indeed have to talk about a cool down. black ice unfortunately to talk about on the eastside of mccormick avenue at ches chess coavenue. just use extra caution if you're traveling on this morning, make sure it doesn't creep up on you. we want to check on the 95 area. the cars are in the yellow at 95 at 695. really no incidents to talk about. we have a bit of congestion to talk about heading down to the fort mchenry tunnel. as for 895, nothing to complain on the harbor tunnel, a 9-minute clip. the beltway the outer loop lanes, so far it's going to be a slow go as usual from 95 toward 83, 16 minutes, 37 miles per hour. doing much better from 83 down toward 795, a 9-minute ride there, 51 miles per hour. look at that number, 35 with an 18-minute drive from 795 down toward 895. that's a look at morning travels. megan on over to you. arrests could be made this this weekend's violent downtown shooting in downtown. one man was shot with a machine gun, others badly beaten. it happened at is 6:00. roughly 20 young people from the baltimore area were at a birthday party inside of two adjoining rooms on the 8th floor there when a fight broke out. 19-year-old raymond woodland allegedly pulled out a tech 9 machine gun and shot another teen in the face. >> this is a big gun that guy carried around for who knows how long that night and takes it into a birthday party. we need people to get angry about that and do something about it, not all of this teeth gnashing about whether it's saii osafeor not safe, do something t bad guys with guns. >> reporter: after the shooting, woodland was stripped of the machine gun and beaten by two men. all three men are considered persons of interests and charges of attempted first-degree murder are pending. an elderly man is killed in a parkville apartment fire. it happened at 11:00 yesterday morning. neighbors at the ridge garden apartment building smelled smoke and called 911. when the firefighters arrived the apartment was completely filled with smoke and the 96 years old occupant was found lying on the kitchen floor. >> yes, the situation in this case is that the gentleman appeared to be cooking, caused a fire, the apartment filled with smoke and smoke is often just as deadly as fire can be. >> the building was evacuated as a precaution but no one else was hurt. there's new information about one of jurors who convicted mayor sheila dixon and some legal analysts say it could be ground for a mistrial. juror number 3 had prior contact with dixon when she was city council president. shawana tyler won a contest sponsored by a city agency back in 2006 and got a shopping spree at a store. dixon was at that event, but she didn't disclose the information before the trial started. she didn't remember dixon being there or even if the contest was sponsored by the city. it's unclear if the defense plans to use this new information as grounds for requesting a mistrial. meanwhile dixon remains on the job and over the weekend she got mixed reaction during the public appearance at the 37th annual mayor christmas parade. the parade took place in hampden. both supporters and op next made their feelings known following the conviction of embezzledment. >> she is a thief and needs to be pulled from office. >> i want to show her some cont and let her know that people still love her at balt. >> reporter:baltimore. >> reporter: as for dixon, he she said it was great to kickoff the holiday season. it shows the japanese fleet dispatching its dive bombers. >> the day still lives in infamily and always will, but on this 68th anniversary of pearl harbor only one ship is still afloat that actually saw action that day. >> joel d smith is live at the inner harbor with the ship the taney. good morning, joel. >> reporter: it's nice to have the privilege of being on this ship on this day. i got the curator. what does it mean to you to be on this ship knowing what it means? >> all right. >> this is the final look and it's all up. tell me what you did? >> the first look we had part of it up and some of it hanging down. to make it more glamorous, i took the top part and held it up and put two or three minutes and put it together. >> then you put the ornamental pin in there as well. >> that makes it party. if you take it out, it's a normal up do, but as soon as you add bling, it brings us into the party mood. >> let me spin you around and let's see your face. that is where jasmine goes in, how do you go with the makeup you wear to work which is usually something simple to something that pops. >> the best way to do the party is to do a smokey eye. for the winter there's a lot of purples. i used a purple shadow and did a smokey eye with mascara, and we use a neutral color lip. >> we are taking a look at before and after. the before, obviously you had no make up on. now your face looks a lot warmer, a lot brighter, how do you like the makeup? do you like it? >> i love it, yeah. >> that is what you did with the eyes. what do you do to accent her cheeks? >> yes, i used a strong blush and focused on the apples of the cheeks and just blending out from there? >> it looks good, because it's not over done on her cheeks. it doesn't look like scary, but it blends all in. >> what about the lips, what do we do there? i see gloss? >> i tried to find a color that is close to her natural lip color and just adding a really clear, shiny, shiny gloss. you can even add a color that is layered at the very center. >> that is lipstick with the gloss over it? >> yes. >> that is the trend. we are going back to lipsticks. >> people start with a liner and that will help seal the color and make it last longer especially if you're going to be out all night. >> you don't have to be a makeup artist. is this something you can accomplish at home? >> absolutely. you can accomplish it at home. it's very easy. >> how long should people at home spend on their makeup if you're going out to a party. >> probably the eyes would take the longest, add 20 minutes. >> darrell, how long to do the hair would you do?
