damage from the weekend. that is hard hitting in the reisterstown area. right now we have on franklin boulevard at church road the traffic lights are on the fritz. just be aware of it. you don't need to take an alternate, but use extra caution traveling through the intersections there. right now it's going to be an easy drive to where we look at a 9 minute clip. on the top end of the beltway from route 702, so far things are looking good. we are only looking at a 27 minute right patrice, back to you. a baltimore county man goes on trial this morning. ken allen is facing campaign violationsed today is day one of what is expected to be a 3-day trial. megan gilliland joins us live from the county courthouse from ttowson. good morning, megan. >> reporter: good morning, patrice. oliver is apologizing with what he calls a poor choice in handling a family emergency. he dipped into the came pain funds writing out checks to his wife and himself. a violation of trust and a violation of state law. >> it's awed atious to say the least. >> reporter: baltimore council kenneth ole has been on the council since 2002, but now he faces an uncertain future after being indicted on felony chest charges. >> in a way we're talking about a public trust. people give you money to run for office. >> reporter: he is accused of writing two execs for $2,000. one for him and one for his wife, money that came from his campaign account. >>it's given to be you to be a part of the democratic process, to run an election. when it's used for something else, it's a serious betrayal. >> reporter: the state board of elections noticed problems during a 2007 audit, when they notified oliver, the councilman wrote a letter of apology saying he was unaware of the possibility of committing a campaign finance violation and that the money was used for a family emergency. oliver never elaborated on what that emergency was but did pay the money back. >> reporter: these theft charges he could face up to 15 years in pli prison. his trial is expected to start this morning. live from the towson courthouse, i'm megan gilliland. fox 45 morning news. a fire in southwest baltimore sends a firefighter to the hospital. the fire started around midnight at the 2800 block of georgetown road. the firefighter was taken to shock trauma with nonlife-threatening injuries. no one else was hurt, there's no word on the cause of the fire. police are searching for a man who stabbed a man in anne arundel county. it happened at the old state road in glen burnie. the victim was stabbed several times. there's no word on his condition this morning. a frustrated mayor dixon speaks out after a violent weekend in baltimore. 22 people were shot and four killed between saturday and sunday. 12 of those shooting victims including a 2-year-old girl and a pregnant woman were shot an east baltimore cook out sunday night. no one died in that incident, but investigators say the apparent target of the shooting was a man connected to rival drug gang activity. the mayor says if people want violence like this to stop they must come forward with witness information. >> i don want to hear from the media, you know about the whole snitching because that is crap. this is so important. you have innocent people who were shot and it could have been worse. it's important that the people in that community come forth. >> so far police have made no arrests, but they have boosted foot and street patrols and say they're also going after targeted offenders in the area. meanwhile the child and pregnant woman shot at the cook out are expected to mick a fulll recovery. he is back, the national football league is reinstating michael vick after he was suspended for running a dogfighting ring. nfl commissioner roger goodell says vick's return to the league is conditional. he can take part in the preseason meetings, practices and workouts and you will be allowed to play in the two final preseason games. he still can't play in official games, at least not yet. >> i will decide within those six weeks, within the first six weeks of the regular season when and whether he will be reintated to play from there. >> vick is already trying to rebuild his image pledging to work with the humane society and children. it's still going to be an uphill battle for the former atlanta falcon. vick is now a man without a team. several have already said no to the former quarterback, including the jets, giants and cowboys. westminister may as well have a new name for the next four weeks, ravens town. thousands of fans out there today, at least not right now. there's a chance for a stray shower later in the afternoon, but that is about all. really we're looking at a fairly dry day compared to all of the others before and after, and it's been quiet tropical season so far. no named storms by the way, just thought of that at the moment, but that is not the case. it wasn't the case last year. we had actually 4 by this time. you see one between june and july. it's quiet around here. you see the radar. we take a look at the bigger picture and we find showers at the north coast area, moving toward the tennessee valley. that won't be here today but we are talking about a chance for tomorrow. mostly cloudy skies being reported downtown. 29.95 holding steady in the barometer. 68 is the dew point number and that is an indication of how humid it is. 74 is the temperature right now in baltimore, 72, 72, there you know in d.c. 68 in salisbury. 69 in hagerstown and out in oakland bun degree 51 degrees lt the dew point in the upper 60s for most of us, it's definitely another humid one. we just don't get rid of the humidity. that is because we are getting the warm, moist air up from the south. that warm front won't get in here until tomorrow. as it moves closer to our region it brings a better chance of showers then. and looking at showers probably tomorrow as early as 10:00 a.m. for the western counties and in the afternoon, a better chance at 3:00 p.m. and the latest at 10:00 for the showers and thunderstorms tomorrow as net front pushes in. we got another front behind that, just one after another, pushing the warm, humid air. that is why we have a chance of an afternoon thunderstorm. a lesser chance, a 20% chance, but still a chance of a thunderstorm. you need to know there's that possibility because of the warmth and the humidity that we have in the environment. unstable enough to produce a pop up shower. it will be a remote chance. western part of maryland has a temperature of the same, 89 degrees, tonight we drop to 71 degrees. we can't rule out the stray evening, thunderstorm. it will be humid nevertheless. we look at today and you will see temperature climbing to 84 bit noon hour. 87 at 6:00 p.m. with the chance of that thunderstorm. when you see the picture, it looks like there's thunderstorms everywhere. it just means there's a chance for an there. the roadways are and quiet from owls mills toward the roadway. here it is a calm commute to on both the inner loop lanes and the outward stretch heading toward 70. once you head in the catonsville area, more traffic lights that are not working properly. travel both way, again, it's the building conditions from catonsville heading toward 95. on 95, though, we are in the green from the beltway heading all the way up toward 395 and that continues to be the case through the tunnels. on 95, through whitemarsh, though, it's getting pretty busy. we are already packing in a lost cars the state has deemed illegal. still they are open and accepting students. here is how the alleged scam plays out. the business presents itself as a review service. but former students say that is not what they're being sold on. >> they say you can get your rn, $8,000, you can get your rn in six to 9 months. >> reporter: with a certificate in hand, students would then go to take their state forward in a different state or in the district. the problem is the business is not accredited. from the get go this former student says the business didn't appear to be in the up and up. >> we put our $50 in for the orientation class, but when it came down to go to classes, we got -- i got the run around. >> reporter: fox 45 has learned maryland higher education commission is investigating. and on june 26, it issued a cease and desist order n a letter to the owner, the commissioner says, you are offering licensed nurse and practical nurse without the commission approval. we decided to pay the school are looking good for us, southbound on 795, westminister pike heading toward beltway, right now we're only looking at a 9-minute commute. on the top end of the beltway, we're in excellent shape from greenspring avenue up toward the jfx. that will only take 4 minutes. if you're going to veer off, and heading to the downtown area, nothing to get in your way. we're only looking at a 16-minute ride that involved a white officer and a black harvard professor. >> a woman had noticed two gentlemen trying to get in the house. >> that is part of the 911 call that led toot rest of professor henry louis gates. the caller lo lucille was passig by when she made the call. she said repeatedly she wasn't sure if she was witnessing a break you knobreak-in, and she y was locked out of their home. the caller never told the dispatcher they were black. >> they are two larger men. 1 was hispanic and the other one entered and i didn't see what he looked like at all. >> president obama has invited the professor and the officer to the white house for a beer. that meeting is expected to happen on thursday evening. president obama is pushing his reform for heath care. he is going to have another hometown meeting sponsored by arrp and will allow people to call in with questions. the president's press secretary says even though lawmakers may not be ready to vote on the issue, the president will continue to move his agenda forward. he is taking his message to virginia and north carolina tomorrow. it's the day baltimore football fans have been waiting for. ever since last season's pretty mild start. when you get into the upper 50s, we start to feel more humid. we stayed out of the 70s, so it could be worst especially for this time of year. what you see here is again, the showers that are to our east in the atlantic and also back to the south and west. and we will be talking about the warm air coming up and the humid air from the south once more. the cold front back to the west, take sometime to get here, not until tomorrow does it get here, and that is when we see a better chance of organization with regard to the thunderstorm. time wise, we see a pop up shower today probably during the warmest part of the day once again. it's just a stray 20% chance. a better chance tomorrow as the front gets closer. you see the western counties here as 10:00 a.m. as we get to the 3:00 in the afternoon as you see it to the central counties and eastern shore. that cold front stays with us and sticks with us through the evening and nighttime at 10:00 p.m. the repeated chances of showers and thunderstorms each day. 87 degrees for the high today for the eastern shore, a south wind 10-15. just the stray thunderstorm chance for the afternoon or evening for the central part of the state. we won't rule out the stray thunderstorm but generally a dry day. make it 90 then, and back to the west about the same 89 to 90 and the chance of a stray thunderstorm. otherwise partly cloudy. then tonight, we won't rule out the evening, shower, and thunderstorm, yes, i'm covering myself. south wind at 5-10 miles per hour. it will be humid. just want you to be aware. when you have the heat and humidity, you could have a pop up shower anytime. for the next couple of days as the front approaches, a better chance probably tomorrow. 87 degrees for the high then, and 89 on ride there. so packing in the cars especially on the outer loop lanes. inner loop lanes are problem-free heading toward the top end. from greenspring avenue, toward the jfx right now we are looking at a quick and easy 4-minute commute. in towson, some fallen trees on dulaney valley road, right at machinmanner road. that intersection not shutdown. as for the top end of the beltway, we have the cars that are starting to file in from towson, heading toward parkville and eventually heading to the overly area. on whitemarsh boulevard, we can show you the southbound and northbound lanes, it's already insurance. new this morning, baltimore county councilman ken oliver goes on trial today. the randallstown democrat faces felony theft charges accused of stealing thousands of campaign dollars. if convicted of campaign fraud, councilman oliver could face up to 15 years in prison. the senate judiciary committee votes on supreme court nominee sonia sotomayor. as they announce opposition but others are siding with the democrat majority to confirm her. the vote is expected to take place next week. city property taxes are due at the end of september, for another year, residents are paying the highest taxes in the area. proposals over the years to reduce property taxes hasn't amounted to much savings for homeowners. city officials say to bring city taxes in line with property tax rates in surrounding counties would means millions of dollars in lost revenue for baltimore which the city can't afford. the city's argue amount is nothing more than excused frank conaway joins us this morning. >> good morning. >> why is it excused? >> well, i think that our leaders are doing the same thing that they have done year after year, and no one wants to try inowe have a sievinnovative thi. there's a lost things that can be done. the city council has to have the budgeted balanced and the factions are a great part of that money, but there are other ways to raise money. >> like what? >> well, like creating new jobs. >> uh-huh. >> and using the ports better and enticing people to go to schools here, hopkins and university of maryland to stay in baltimore after they finish their courses. but they leave because one of the reasons is high taxes. >> but a lot of people are staying in the city and some people are even still moving into the city inspite of the property tax rate. some city officials can say, hey, we're still keeping enough people. we need the money, we can't change the property tax just yet. >> well, we can, if we start being inowe have a sieve an inna different way that we have been doing it. we get into the quagmire of doing the same thing over and over again and not make the change. the officials shouldn'ting doing what they want to do, they should be doing the thing that the officials of baltimore demand to do. we had a meeting and two officials attended that is my daughter and my son frank junior who is a member of the house of delegates. i think that is awful. >> why do you think that more city officials aren't getting on board with what you're saying? obviously, they want to keep residents here, and they want to keep residents happy, why wouldn't they look to raise property tax and raise money in other ways that you say would be easy to do. >> i think that they will. we need to show them the way. we are going to bring pressure on the elected officials. if that doesn't work we are going to need by petition draft. we need 10,000 signatures, which we think we can get because we have a great coalition along with the sage institute to get this thing done. and anabonbasu who has written a plan for 20 year baltimore tax reduction will be leading a group of lawyers and investors who have had this coalition to fight against it. so we have the people and we're going to have the machiney in place to do -- the money in place to do t elected officials know that when people get as mad as hell, and are not going first letter last name p harris, then i know what everybody's e-mail is going to be at that company. another thing people don't realize, is a lot of these free e-mail providers sell the -- sell your e-mail address. that is part of the deal. i'm giving you this for free, you have to let me sell it. i have read studies where people sign up and don't use an account and spam will start showing up. >> it's ridiculous. the bigger question is how do we stop it. you sent me a list of different ideas. let's go down the list. number one, activate the spam filters. >> i have done this and cut it by 50%, you have to be rambo about spam. every time you get a spam add that the bad senders list or create a rule so you right click on the actual e-mail and say create rule and say anytime i get an e-mail from this person delete it. you can do that kind of thing. newsletters, which just show up for free for whatever reason. >> annoying. >> right. >> opt out of awful those. >> keep opting out of all of them. they will stop coming eventually. >> there's free spam filters that you can use. >> there's a number of them out there. here is the thing about these, though, it's going to require extra work on your part up front to teach the filter what is good and what is bad e-mail to you. >> okay. >> and the other thing is make sure you check your junk e-mail, because some of them will get misfiled, because this tool is trying to learn. a good one that i had one recommended to me are spamato. but there's a number of free ones out there. >> let's get to the other one. don't use a simple e-mail theft charges accused of stealing thousands of campaign dollars. megan gilliland joins us live from baltimore county courthouse with the latest. good morning, megan. >> reporter: good morning, patrice. today is day one of what is expected to be a 3-day trial. if convicted council oliver could face up to 15 years behind bars. councilman oliver has apologized for what he called a poor chase in handling a fam -- choice in handling a family emergency. he is accused of writing two checks, one for $2,000 for him and one for highs wife. >> the money is given to you to run an election. when you use it for something else, it's pretty serious betrayal. >> reporter: now with the state board of elections noticed the problems during an audit, the councilman wrote a letter of apology, saying that he was unaware of the possibility of committing a campaign violation and the money was used for a family emergency. oliver never elaborated on what the emergency was, but he did pay the money back. he had been on the council since 2002. his trial is expected to begin at 9:30 this morning. stay with us for the very latest. live from baltimore county courthouse, this morning, i'm megan gilliland. fox 45 morning news. police say the man believed to be a hargt target of a shooting spree the a weekend cook out had previously been under surveillance. court records show that stephen blackwell had been part of a -- that shooting is one of several shootings over the weekend that left 22 people wounded and four dead. meanwhile a frustrated mayor dixon is speaking out about the incident. the mayor says if people want violence like this to stop, they must come forward with witness information. >> i don't want to hear from the media about, you know, the whole snitching, dvd, because that is crap. this is so important. you have innocent people who were shot and it could have been worse. so it's important that the people in that community come forward. >> so far police have made no arrests, but they have boosted foot and street patrols and say they're going after targeted offenders in the area. he is back, the national football league is reinstating michael vick after he was suspended for running a dogfighting ring. the announcement comes a week after vick's release from prison where he served 18 months. but nfl commissioner roger goodell says vick's rush to the league is conditional. he can take part in the preseason meetings, practices and workouts. he will be allowed to play in the final two preseason games, but he still can't play in official games. the nfl commissioner says he will consider vick for full reinstatement by mid-october. that is our question of the day. should michael vick be allowed back in the nfl? , we will take your calls later. you area. showers to the west and the gulf coast area headed toward the tennessee valley. as we look at the current tns, conditions, 74 degrees, mainly cloudy skies, winds are calm, 82% relative humidity. the barometer holding steady and the dew point is at 68. that is an indication that it's very humid out there. temperature wise, we're 74 degrees at the warm start to the day and baltimore. 73 in d.c. 70 at hagerstown and bine in okay -- 59 in oakland but cooler. the dew point are in the 60s, upper 60s and so the humidity is just not going anywhere. we're getting a southerly flow of air. still that southerly to southwesterly flow, brings that heat and humidity once again. now the frontal boundary to the west is well to the we have. it's not going to get in here today. a better chance tomorrow, the cold front coming in tomorrow will come in and bring a better chance of thunderstorms, we think as we get toward the afternoon for most of us. it could be as early as late morning for the western part of the state. look for some shower chances moving in there, about 10, 11:00, and for the central counties about 3:00 p.m. until later at night. in fact as late as 10:00 p.m., you will see the showers hanging around and with the thunderstorms with it. the next cold front comes with it, brings us the chance of showers and thunderstorms as it gets toward the end of the weekend. 87 degrees for catonsville, but before we get to that, we do need to talk about the average speeds, because they're starting to slow down pretty quickly. we did just drop on 95 moving toward whitemarsh at 53 miles per hour and 43 on the jfx. 61, so not doing too bad on 83 through baltimore county, but on west side of the beltway, a significant drop now, 4 49 miles per hour, heading from the jfx toward 70, doing better on 75 traveling through howard county. as for the incident, traffic lights not not working properly. we don't have any road ow road r lane closures. and traveling through wilkens avenue, we do have the building conditions there. on 295 at 695, it's already a pretty slow ride there on the southbound lanes heading down toward washington d.c. as for 95, though, not too much to complain about, just the cars that are filing in from 695 heading through to the tunnel. as for knif 95 at whitemarsh. we have seen a pretty busy pace. here it is with a lot of cars congregating on the both the northbound and southbound lanes heading toward 695. speaking of 695, we're already starting to pack in the cars from overly down toward parkville and eventually heading new this morning, baltimore until five years after kennedy been assassinated. president obama graduated from harvard law school. this is going to be a process that is going to take sometime. it's going to take a while. he has been invited key members of the house of representatives to the oval office to talk about where the glitches are, where we need to work things so we can come up with a consensus that all americans will feel comfortable with? >> let me ask you then, continuing, you think there's still hope in this. his approval ratings continue to drop. it shows that a lot of americans, not just lawmakers but americans are skeptical on how he is handling this healthcare reform. how does he turn that around? >> well, again, the proof is in the pudding. it turns around once these things start to work. once some of the economic programs that president obama has put into effect start working, then people say, oh, well he is doing a good job. in fact, we have seen the predicting of the end of the recession is coming soon because a lot of economic indicators are going up. is as a result of what president obama did? i don't know. but if things get better, his ratings will go up. >> delegate mcdonough i will give you the last work. we have 30 seconds, will the poll numbers continue to climb. do you say, give it time and see how the program is going to work. >> they will keep on going down n the rase imploding even before its president is sworn in for a second term. three cabinet ministers have been dismissed, resigned or are on their way out as the opposition vows to continue the protests over not finding there at all. back to the south and west of us toward the gulf coast area, but today looks to be generally a dry day today. let's take a look at current conditions. 74 degrees at the inner harbor. winds are calm, 82% relative humidity. and the dew point is at 68 so once again, humidity is a strong factor. 74 degrees in baltimore, 73 in d.c. 70 up in hagerstown, only 61 little degrees out in oakland. and 70 degrees in salisbury. oakland looks to be a nice, cool spot today. in fact, the dew point is in there. the humidity is low. the upper 60s at that, until another humid day. and we're looking at the southerly flow oncermore that is bringing -- once more that is bringing heat and humidity. the next cold front is back to the west. that will hold off getting here probably until tomorrow, but then we have a better chance of some showers with thunderstorms. take a look and we will see when we expect the storms to move in. it looks like for tomorrow afternoon, first tomorrow morning for the western counties around 10:00 a.m. and then in the afternoon for the central counties and the eastern shore. it continues to as we move into the nighttime, until 10:00 p.m., before they thought to ease up some. 87 degrees for the high today. a stray shower and thunderstorm. just a 20% chance, probably not having to deal with from most areas, nevertheless, you should be aware with the heat and humidity. there's always a chance for a pop up shower or thunderstorm. just a remote chance for today. 89 for the central part of the state, back to the west, with the high temperature expected about the. 89, we might hit about 90. don't hold me to the 89, is what i was trying to say. 89 degrees for the overnight low. partly cloudy skies tonight but a chance for an evening shower and thunderstorm first. then the sky turns partly cloudy and turns for the front to move in tomorrow. 89 for thursday, 87 for friday, 86 both, friday and saturday, and note the chance for a shower or thunderstorm each and every afternoon or evening. again you will see the chance here about a 50% chance tomorrow and tuesday, a better chance as we move into the weekend. if you're about an issue in catonsville throughout the morning and unfortunately it remains to be a problem. we do do want to first talk about the average speed times because they're dwindling pretty quickly out there. on 95 and whitemarsh, it's fry 40 miles per hour up to speeds on 61 on 83 through cockeysville. here is where we did see the significant drop, 34 miles per hour traveling on the west side of the beltway. as for the incidents, we can tell you in catonsville, the traffic lights are on the fritz, 40 is at engel side avenue. you don't need to take an alternate route, but be aware that you don't need to use -- you will need to use extra caution. catonsville toward wilkens avenue. on 295 at the southwest corner, here it is on the southbound lanes, we have been seeing this pack of cars pretty much throughout the morning rush. this is going to be the case on the southbound side. the northbound lanes are getting by problem-free. the good news is there's no dents to report on the bw parkway. it's the morning rush that we continue to deal with. the cars continue to head up through 395 through the tunnels and a pretty busy pace on southbound 95 through whitemarsh. that's a look at the morning commute. patrice, back to you. candace, thank you. coming up after serving a year and a half in prison on dogfighting charges, michael vick has been reinstated with conditions to the nfl. the former atlanta falcon star is now eligible to attend practices and team activities if he finds a team who will take him on. we want to know, should michael vick be allowed back in the nfl? that is our question of the day. the national football league is reinstating michael vick after he was suspended for running a dogfighting ring. the announcement comes a week after vick's release from prison where he served 18 months. under the terms of the agreement, he will be allowed to take part in preseason practices. once the season begins, he will take part in all team activities, except games. the the heat and humidity, we could have a pop up shower and thunderstorm. it's a stray chance. yesterday we got along with without, though there were thunderstorms that moved through the southeast part of the area. right now sky hd radar, and you see the temperatures in the mid-70s. 76 in baltimore, 75 in d.c. 71 in hagerstown, 73 in wilmington, delaware. here is a look at what you expect ahead. warm and humid conditions all week long and thunderstorms around, probably more so later tomorrow and into thursday and friday as well. and then we get a break from the stormy weather, it looks like, you, steve and good morning. we have been monitoring the ride on the beltway right now and so far, things are looking okay on both the inner and the outer loop lanes on liberty road. i can tell you, t going to be a mess overall heading from the jfx wrapping from the 70. we are in the read on the outer loop lanes with a 21-minute commute. the inner loop lanes doing much better from greenspring avenue, including the jfx includes the moderate congestion. the inner loop isn't so bad. it's the outer loop. and southbound 95, an extremely hectic ride from mountain road to 695. we don't have any accidents, tts the usual ride there. we are look at a 15-minute ride. back to you. thank you, candace. baltimore councilman ken oliver goes on trial this morning. the councilman faces felony theft charges accused of stealing thousands of campaign dollars. the 63-year-old is charged with charging two checks, each for $2,000 from his campaign account, one for him and one for his wife. oliver has apologized for what he calls a poor choice in handling a family emergency. if convicted of campaign fraud, counsel man oliver could face up to 15 years in prison. his trial is expected to begin at 9:30 this morning. 7 men in north carolina are charged with supporting terrorism. all are accused of conducting weapons training in their home and planning a violent jihad. they include a father, two sons and four other men's living in the states. the state garment says the -- the department says the master behind was the father who lived in a home south of raleigh in willow springs. court records indicate that the boit trained in terrorist camps in afganistan and pakistan. if convicted, they all could face life in prison. he is back, the national football league is reinstating michael vick after he was suspended for running a dogfighting ring. it comes after a week from his release from prison where he served 18 months. but roger goodell says that the return to the team is conditional. he will be allowed to play in the final two preseason games, but, he cannot play in official games, at least not yet. >> i will decide within those six weeks, within the first six weeks of the regular season whether -- when and whether he will be reinstated to play from there. >> vick is already trying to rebuild his image, pledging to work with the humane society and with children. it's going to be an uphill battle for the atlanta falcon. once the league highest team player, league is without a team. several have said no, including the jets, the giants and the cowboys. westminister may as well have a new name for the next foir weeks, ravens town. thousands of fans are expected to flock toe mcdaniel college for the next four weeks. to make sure they get the best of their trip, joel d any echos, meaning no showers or thunderstorms at this time. we will check things in motion as we check out the composite image. we will see to the south and is where we are seeing showers and thunderstorms down to the mississippi valley. that is not headed for us now, we are talking about dry conditions for the time being. 75 degrees for the time being and reporting partly cloudy skies. we are seeing sunshines and ones out of the southwest, and barometer is rising. 29.98 and the dew point, though 69, that number is significant, because that tells us how humid it is, and it is quite humid. 76 degrees if baltimore, 75 in d.c. 71 in salisbury and the same for hagerstown. there's hagueers -- wait, i will get it. magers town, need a better aim. 63 degrees in oakland, cooler there. the dew point cooler toward the mountains which will make for a cooler location there, but everybody else at 69 degrees, for example in baltimore. and the surrounding area pretty close to the same. that is going to make it humid once more. it's going to stay this which way -- way, the hot humid air hangs for quite sometime into the future. the radar is indicating, it's not indicating that the air is moving from the south and. that is going to bring in the heat and humidity. there's a boundary from the southwest, but that is not coming today. that comes in tomorrow and it brings a better chance of showers and thunderstorms then, but again just a pop up chance for today because of the heat and humidity and what we refer to as unstable air that rises as a result, you could see a shower or thunderstorm, but just a 20% chance today. tomorrow the next chance as a cold front moves in and adds insult to injury and helps to produce the warm moist air. at 10:00 a.m., and the west, the central counties and the eastern shore, about 3:00 p.m. until 10:00 at night a possible shower or thunderstorm with the frontal down brie that pushes through -- bow dreboundary that pushes thr. it's afternoon, and shower and thunderstorms possible for everywhere throughout the state for the next several days. today a lesser chance as i said, 87 degrees for the high on the eastern shore. if you're in the central part of the state, about 89 degrees, we might hit 90, so if we do that, it won't be a big jump. i just want to say that because 90 sounds like so much warmer temperatures, doesn't it, even though it's only a degree of 89. that is what we have for the western part of the state, too. with a chance for a shower or thunderstorm popping up as well. tonight we can't rule out the evening or thunderstorm, 79 degrees for the overnight low. it will be humid today and through the night and through the next several days. 89 degrees today for the starting temperature. we get to 84 at noon, 87 at 6:00 p.m. if you're headed to camden yards tonight for the baseball game. orioles still taking on the royals for another day, another few days, a couple of days. 86 degrees for the first pitch temperature as 7:05 partly cloudy skies, a hot and humid night with a south wind at 5 to 10 miles per hour. tomorrow, 87 degrees then with a thunderstorm chance, we will have showers early on in the early morning for the western counties as you saw. the rest of us in the afternoon or evening, 89 degrees on tuesday, more of the same in terms of afternoon or evening showers and thunderstorms the exactly what is happening on the roadways and exact speeds as a matter of fact. right now, they're dropping pretty quickly on 95 moving through whitemarsh. we did just see a significant dip there. 44 miles per hour, now on the southbound lanes and 47 on the jfx. not doing too bad on 82 through baltimore county, 61 miles per hour there. on the west side of the beltway, we were at 32, but it went up to 37. at least that is good news as we head through the 8:00 hour. but we do have a few incidents that you need to know about. in rices sisters town sisters tn boulevard at church road. you will have a lot of could on the southbound lanes heading toward the beltway. on the top end from greenspring avenue, toward the jfx it's just the car lots to contend with. we're looking at a 5-minute commute. fallen trees on dulaney valley road at manner road to be exact. just watch out for that, obviously the storm damage is playing the region. as for the beltway on the top end right now it's going to be a heavy ride from parkville heading toward south on the outer loop lanes. on 95 moving through the whitemarsh area that is where we're seeing significant volume from whitemarsh toward 695. northbound we're at 76. 73 in cockeysville once we hit the noon hour, we should be in the 80s already. 84 degrees for the noon temperature, mostly clear skies then but more clouds later in the day. a chance for a pop you are shower or thunderstorm around. it's a stray shower, 87 degrees for the temperature at that time. it's going to be after hitting the high of 4:00, 89 degrees or even as i said, we get to baltimore city, you do need to know that we have emergency road work that just took on northbound 895. it was right at the harbor tunnel. in fact, it stopped traffic there. the good news is that all lanes are now reopen, but you will want to stick with 95 through the fort mchenry tunnel or 695 around the key bridge to avoid the residual delays. now as for 95 in the southbound direction, from mountain road down to 695, we're in the red with a very hectic 14-minute commute. on the top end of the beltway, of course, we do have the intermittent flowing there from route 702 all the way down toward 70 on the beltway, that will take 32 minutes. it does ease up a bit on the southbound side of the jfx thankfully from 695 heading toward east fayette street. right now we're looking at a 15 going to talk about humidity. >> it's there, you can feel it. i know he is going to say it. >> i'm going to talk about megan singing. she was singing that last song. catchy little tune. >> it's my favorite highway. >> we will take a look around the highways right now. not too busy. as far as weather is concerned, looking good on the weather cam. we will hear from candace on the roadways. the dry conditions staying with us for most of today. there's a chance for a pop up shower, most of the heat and humidity, most of the activity as you see around the gulf coast or mississippi valley area headed to the east. some of that will be affecting us as we get the moisture moving up. right now at the inner harbor, 76 degrees, with mostly cloudy skies. 79% relative humidity, 29.98 and rising on the barometer. 69 is dew point, that means it's another humid day. yes, patrice and megan, you're right. i'm talking about humidity once again and getting raspberries in the background. 79 in washington d.c. 71 in hagerstown, 64 in oakland, a little cooler, but still we will feel heat everywhere. 7this is an indication of how much moisture is in the atmosphere. when it's in the upper scidz, 6s will you will feel in terms of the humidity. for the east, we got more humidity there and to the south, too. hd radar, not showing us a whole lot of much of anything in terms of rain, not even a whole lot of cloud cover now. we're seeing some sunshine. the southwesterly flow bringing more moisture and more heat our way. we are talking about the front coming through. and front to the west coming right now. that front will be headed in our direction tomorrow, as it does move in our direction, it will bring us a chance of a thunderstorm. as we look at the future scam model, we expect by tomorrow morning for the western part of the state, some showers there. ahead of that front and then front moves into the area and brings the chance of showers and thunderstorms for the central part of the state and the eastern shore by 3:00 p.m. all the way until 10:00 p.m. it looks like at night. it moves off to the east. we get a little bit of a break, and the front moves. it's going to be an afternoon evening variety of storms that will be a hit and miss variety. today more of a miss. 87 degrees for the high in the eastern shore where we do have a chance of a shower or thunderstorm, but just a stray or a 20% chance, let's say for the central part of the state as well. 89 degrees here for the high. back to the west we look at temperatures getting to the west and 90. partly cloud iskies and generally we don't want to rule out the chance for all of this instability. 79 degrees for the overnight low. an evening shower and thunderstorm possible in spots. it will be a remote chance. south winds at 5-10 miles per hour. humid, too, as we move through the day today, expect the temperatures to climb to 86 by noon. the stray thunderstorm chance. if you are headed to camden yards for tonight, for the game between the orioles and the royals, first pitch temperature, 7:05, about 86 degrees. it will be a hot and humid night under partly cloudies skies, south winds at 5-10. tomorrow 87 degrees with a thunderstorm chance. 89 on thursday, 87 on friday, 86 for both saturday and sunday, and 87 on monday, all with chances for an afternoon evening or shower or thanks, steve. well, 895 is not going to be your favorite highway this morning. if you're heading out, we did have emergency road work that completely shutdown all northbound lanes right at the harbor tunnel. the good news is that the lanes are now reopen, but will still want to stick with 95 through the fort mchenry tunnel or even 695 and scoot around the key bridge instead. moving in along on 95 traveling through whitemarsh in baltimore county, here it is, things are starting to ease up a bit. we still have a good crowd on both the northbound and southbound lanes heading toward 695. on the top end of the beltway, we are still packing them in from parkville heading toward towson and then eventually up toward the 83. in cockeysville some traffic lights are not working. they have been out all morning long. timonium road not looking bad. you don't need to take an alternate route, just be aware that they're not working and use extra caution. up toward greenspring avenue, we're clocking in at a 5 minute chute. so really month mishaps -- no hiss happens tmishaps to talk a. smooth sailing there on both the inner loop lanes and the inner loop direction heading toward 795. that's a look
