corruption crime spree. after two weeks of deliberations on 24 charges a mistrial on all but one count. >> the jury showed you that the government threw everything at the kitchen sink for me and on every count except for onerings they could not prove i did anything wrong. >> reporter: they did find him guilty of lying the fbi. >> i did not lie to the fbi. i've told the truth from the very beginning. this is a persecution. >> reporter: among the charges that they failed to agree on, that he sold the seat. it's said there will be another jury trial. blagojevich didn't testify as promised now partial vindication for the politician/rock star status. leanne gregg, nbc news. well, a south carolina mother will be arraigned today on charges that she murdered her two young sons and then tried to cover up the evidence. she confessed this week to suffocating the toddlers, strapping them into her car, and then rolling the vehicle into a river. investigators say she was unemployed and fed up with her mother's complaints that she couldn't carry for her children. the drownings are eerily similar to a 1994 case of another south carolina mother susan smith who's serving life in prison for killing her young sons by rolling a car into the lake. a texas man is dead after opening fire on a police station yesterday. investigators say 29-year-old patrick gray sharp drove his pickup truck and a trailer full of skploes irs is into the parking lot before setting it on fire in an attempt to lure people outside to kill them. he died after a shoot-out with police. although it's still unclear whether he was killed by an officer's bullet or one of his own. no one else was hurt during yesterday's clash. and now here's a look at some other stories making news early today in america. in louisiana crews are working to cap a gushing oil well that erupted last wednesday. a 200-foot plume of oil of gas and brian forced the evacuation of at least six is families. now overs are complaining of sore throats, dizziness and nausea. the oil company hopes to plug the leak within the next several weeks. >> in connecticut, the husband charged in connection with a shooting is arrested for attacking media with bug spray. he was charged with three counts of reckless endangerment, reckless assault and carrying a dangerous instrument. in kentucky kfc sell pratd its anniversary
