going for a slum near aberdeen. a second swimmer was reported missing but that swimmer was rescued by a person in a canoe. nearly two dozen families are displaced after a fire. >> kim dacey joins us live at the fire station in randallstown with the details. >> good morning. firefighters say there were working smoke alarms in the building. that's what helped people get out safely. there are no injuries associated with this fire. the blaze started early sunday morning in the garden view apartments in randallstown. the bystander video shows the magnitude of what firefighters were facing in the two-alarm fire. about 100 firefighters responded to the scene and it took them an hour and a half to get the flames under control. the cause of the fire is still under investigation. fire officials think it may have started in a third-floor unit and spread to the attic, destroying 24 apartment units. >> the fire was contained to that apartment and to the attic area. a lot of water damage to the rest of the area. the residents were displaced due to the water damage. >> officials are not sure how many residents were displaced. some of those units were vacant. the red cross and baltimore. three sections need to be replaced. officials flag the main with the potential for failure after crews discovered a rip. some residents in baltimore city and howard counties may notice a slight decrease in water pressure. people should conserve water as much as possible during the repairs. >> a double shooting in howard county. investigators say tuan minh pham went to the male and hair- care a spot in ellicott city and got into a fight with a man outside. ham chased the man inside and then took off. both victims are in critical condition. a police officer is on leave this morning after officials say he shot and killed an armed man in northwest baltimore. police say devonte bowman was outside a 7-eleven armed with a weapon. officers responded and devonte bowman took off running. one of the officers fired his gun, killing bowman. the officer involved is a six year veteran. police arrest three attempted murder suspects after shooting and killing a suspect while serving a search warrant in baltimore county. there was a police-involved shooting in reisterstown. a man attacked a police officers with a sword. three people were arrested. they were involved in a june incident when a boy it was taken to a field and shot in the head. the three suspects are charged with attempted murder and kidnapping. >> julius henson is a free man. he was released because of prison overcrowding. he was sentenced to 60 days in jail for his role in the robocall incident. his mother is being treated in a baltimore hospital. president obama refuses to back away from some pointed violent inmates -- the house of corrections is set to be torn down piece by piece by inmates. the plan will save millions of dollars amble ramp up at the beginning of next month's. the facility
