apparent sexual assault of a baltimore city student has resulted in charges against a former school employee. >> authorities say the assault did happen on school grounds. jennifer franciotti joins us live with the details. >> good morning. the 17-rolled students said she was abused during the last school year -- the 17-year-old student said she was abused during the last school year. the alleged abuse took place at city college high school. 34-year-old ryan coleman took the teenage girl into her office and started to rub her back and her side. he asked if she would feel comfortable in a relationship with him. the girl told police the abuse continued until march and that coleman would sometimes have another hall monitor bring her to his office. police received a call about the abuse in may and coleman was arrested. andres alonso talked about the case just minutes before last night's school board meeting. >> we treat any allegation with seriousness. nothing matters more than the safety of our kids and the integrity with what we do in our school. >> col. faces sex assault charges. -- coleman faces sex assault charges. right now he is out on bail. jennifer franciotti, wbal-tv 11 news. >> the mother who was convicted of killing her husband was sentenced to life in prison without parole. mary koontz was found guilty and in the attempted murder of her daughter, kelsey. the daughter she tried to kill told the judge how this has impacted her life. >> she heard me. i wanted her somehow to find some remorse for everything she put me through. -- she hurt me. >> defense is calling for an independent investigation into the conduct of fred bealefeld. she wants to know if he solicited votes for her opponent, gregg bernstein. bealefeld says he is supporting bernstein as a private citizen. a supporter says the commissioner approached him and asked him to meet with bernstein. bernstein has accused jessamy of wasting time. that brings us to our water cooler question of flowing once again to thousands who work and live in the essex after another water main break. service was interrupted on monday when crews discovered the break. the broken main is 80 years old and is scheduled to be replaced by the end of the summer. as one break is repaired, another springs a leak. a water main ruptured on fleetwood avenue in northeast baltimore and at last check crews are still working to fix that break. investigators will look into the deaths of six american workers killed in northern afghanistan last week. >> families of the workers killed are making the final preparations for their funeral. >> the bodies of the christian aid workers are now in kabul while investigations continue into the massacre in which they were killed. eight of them were farmers. the fbi is involved. some of the american bodies may be returned to the united states in the next few days. families have said they want the remains of their loved ones to be buried here in afghanistan. the taliban claimed responsibility. the afghan government said it might have been murders, roaming around that part of northern afghanistan. their personal belongings were there, suggesting that thieves had been involved in the murders. the taliban said they were trying to convert local afghans to christianity. that is a crime here in this country. the taliban said that is why they were killed. they have also been accused of being spies. they were bringing medical aid to remote areas of northern afghanistan. >> a study reveals temperature could affect whether or not someone could suffer a heart to a rise in heart attacks. after adjusting for other risk factors, there was a small -- just a small change in temperature is associated with 200 extra heart attacks. those who lead in taking aspirin were affected the least. there was no link between heart attacks during warmer weather. disorder it is on the rise for diabetics. four % had severe cases that threatens their vision. it is the newest cause of blindness among u.s. adults. these numbers are expected to rise as more people are diagnosed with diabetes. >> a british boy born with a birth defect has had his legs stretched a record 12 the dew points are in the low 70's. we do have some-clouds showing up on the satellite drifting down from pennsylvania but there's no precipitation. there are some storms moving across west virginia. in the heat and humidity, there is at least a 30% chance we could see a thunderstorm pop up. this is the main one we're watching. it is coming down from new england. it will move through on thursday and shift the wind to the northeast and get rid of the key. we have a quick trip down to the gulf of mexico. it there is a tropical depression off the coast of florida. it will probably become a tropical storm and its name will be danielle. it will take it up towards new orleans. it does not look like a big deal at this time. hot and humid here home. a 30% chance for a thunderstorm. the heat
