identify a particular food or environmental exposure. >> today the reported cases grew. a total of 14 in six states. georgia, alabama, louisiana, and tennessee, and california. so far at least three people have been hospitalized. one girl, 21 months old, died in new orleans. >> the c.d.c. and local health officials are scrambling to find the source of the outbreak. it has been hard to link the cases in georgia to those outside the state. >> this is obviously substantially above normal. anything over two cases we consider an outbreak and worth a penetrating investigation. >> the most common morning." thanks so much for joining us. a week ago an onslaught of severe weather swept through our state. it started early in the afternoon and wreaked havoc through the evening. >> this morning the national weather service confirmed more than a dozen tornados touched down in maryland. and meteorologist tony pann reports it is a nice few of us will ever forget. >> the wind was not in a single direction. it would rain, rain more, and then it was like a deluge. it was scary. >> the first twister touched down around 2:30 in the afternoon. one mile west of damascus on june 1. several more tornados would spawn and rip through the state that day. in all, 12 tornados touched down in eight maryland different counties. and throughout the entire severe event, 11 news viewers kept sending in their amazing videos. here's a look at one final cloud spotted in mount airy. in anne arundel county, this is the storm that came through the area around b.w.i. in nearby fort meade. dark skies and swirling winds were recurring sights for many residents. most of damage it was from trees crashing into homes. >> i felt like it was a helicopter 100 yards above my house. >> it centered around the storm that went through the fall ston area. more than a dozen homes were damaged and downed trees littered yards and streets. the weather did not setting down that night until 9:00 p.m. >> interesting. the longest track was the tornado. it was not a strong one, but it rained from fort meade to b.w.i. the guys in the tower at b.w.i. saw it. >> it must be something to be in the tower. >> at ocean city is 68 degrees. here in town, 62 at the airport. inner harbor checks in with 70. 72% the humidity. the barometer rising. west wind 7 miles per hour. crage 63. -- cambridge 63. westwood 63. 51 in hagerstown. one of the chillier spots at frostburg, 53. there you can see the clouds and rain associated with the clouds lined up on this front coming out of the great lakes anchored in the midwest. these are what we call back door fronts. at least if they come moving down in our direction they come from a northeasterly direction rather than from the west. we will be watching carefully to see if this drifts out. it does not look like it will. it looks like the high pressure that is with us will stay with us and keep this front to the north and keep the rain to the north. that's the game plan. we have rain to the south, rain to the north, and rain to the west. here's the forecast for today. mostly sunny skies, warmer than yesterday. a little more humid. 89 -- 86 to 91 the high. west to northwest winds at 5 to 10 miles per hour. our insta-weather futurecast shows the rain lined up along that front today. we might get a wisp or two of clouds. that's about it. we go into sunday. there is a weather system coming up in the south. a few more scattered clouds. this model indicates perhaps a sprinkle. i don't think there is a high chance. a light shade of green. the rain chances go up monday for maybe a shower. again it is a slight chance. more definitely a chance by tuesday. that's what we have in the forecast. the rain holding off monday night until tuesday. 90 on
