violent past is back in jail this morning. less than eight -- less than a day when he was mistakenly released at a downtown baltimore facility. raymond thomas taylor assumed his cell mates and a -- identity and walked free. >> raymond thomas taylor was serving a triple life sentence when he passed through this baltimore detention center on thursday. the inmate was in it rich -- was a rich record date on the eastern shore when he wrangled an early release by using his cell mates id card. >> the other inmate was overpowered in the south. despite this erroneous release and he hasn't been charged. >> 26 year-old taylor had just met his 22 year-old cell mate william johnson who was said to be released. authorities say some help tailor obtained johnson's id card and passed through a three security checks. >> initial indication is that proper policy and procedure was not properly followed. as part of the investigation process, we're also analyzing existing policies and addressing storm, at least from the storm's center which is up in southern new england down to our region. we are on the fringes of it and we are getting a few snow flurries and snow showers in the baltimore metro area. the heaviest part of the snow band is near philadelphia right now. you also see little sprinkle activity of mixed this -- mixed precipitation down in southern st. mary's county. also down in southern virginia, a little mixed precipitation as well. the sun is starting to go away in the lower eastern shore in there. we will see this kind of activity today. a flurry chances may back off a little bit, but you can see that storm rotating. let's look outside right now. there is mostly cloudy skies. 32 at the airport. humidity, 66%, a relatively dry atmosphere. the barometer has gone up just a bit. we still have a breeze, but it will not be as strong as it was yesterday. we had guest here in town in the 30's and 40's. annapolis, 34. right at freezing at edgewood. westminster is 30. frederick checks in with 36 degrees. satellite picture, you can see the clouds reach all the way to washington and northern virginia has some sunshine as well as parts of the lower eastern shore. then you have this band of clouds to the south. that is the southern accent of the storm. the lesser extent of the storm reaches all the way out to the mississippi river. this is a huge, a huge storm. the center of the storm was over boston earlier. it is now stretching for the west now. it is back over western connecticut. it will continue to wobble or round before it finally starts ticking off during the day tomorrow. additional storms on the map, one day -- one down at the gulf coast region. it is likely to curve back and head toward new england by the middle of the week or so. clouds and sun today, snow showers, 38-43. the winds are at 10 or 20 miles per hour. we have the storm in the west coast, plus one out in the pacific ocean. these storms will have to be watched for progress eastward. a big earthquake in chilly. 8.8. a huge, huge -- a big earthquake in chile. these waves could be anywhere from a few inches to up to 3 feet or more if they hit these various islands out there, including the hawaiian islands. again, that could have some bad results out in the pacific. our forecast here, maybe four or two today and tomorrow, but mainly in mix of clouds and sun. highs
