story, a disturbing discovery by baltimore city police during a drug raid in northwest baltimore. officers rescued six abused dogs in the home. we have a reporter live at the animal shelter or the animals were taken. george? >> the animals are being treated here. one has to wonder what would have happened to the dogs if it was not for police officers stumbling upon what is believed to be a dogfighting business. they are friendly and a little shy, but these pit bulls have been through a lot. they are malnourished, britain, and beaten, the victims of a possible dogfighting business that the police discovered in a home in northwest baltimore friday night. >> they were put into the wrong hands, but they are all very adoptable. >> swollen faces, but it was all over their bodies. the youngest is three months old. the six pit bulls are recovering at the animal posh bedell -- the animal hospital. until friday, they were chained up in the basement of a home. officers went into a drug raid and in the process found the dogs and the basement. they also found a treadmill with attachments for harnesses to keep the dogs in fighting shape and a rope with a ball at the end of it for the dogs to shoot and strengthen their teeth and jaws. >> all of that is indicative of dogfighting. these are probably used as bait dogs for treating the other dogs, because these dogs are not aggressive. their condition shows they lost whatever battle they were and. that the shelter promises to help them feel, in the hopes of giving them better homes some day. at this point, the police cannot confirm if anybody has been arrested in connection with the drug raid or the dogs. thank you. four people are recovering at the hospital after an accident involving an ambulance. that happened shortly before 9:00 at northern parkway in reisterstown. fire officials say it to people and two paramedics were taken to the hospital with injuries. the cause of the crash is under investigation. baltimore city police are involving an accident involving pedestrians shortly after 4:00 on harlem avenue. that is in southwest baltimore. of that pedestrian suffered serious injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. still no word on what caused the deadly fire in cecil county that killed four people. flames broke out shortly after 2:00 at the indian acres campgrounds. two adults and an 8-year-old and 4-year-old were killed. it took about an hour for the nearly 40 firefighters to bring the fire under control. hundreds gathered and laid to rest elizabeth edwards. she lost her six year
