Good evening my Mars military backs off from shutting off the Internet is nonviolent protests against a coup grow members of the United States Congress recount harrowing experiences on January 6th and the future of u.s. Policy in the Middle East but these are the stories I'm Paul Dury Enzo with the w.b. I news for Sunday February 7th 2021. As a through z. Asked to crowds of tens of thousands marched through the streets of mine Mars biggest city on Sunday they were protesting last week's coup. Sushi's elected government their spirits were lifted by the return of internet service they'd been blocked a day earlier. Was. Was . Was was. The nonviolent demonstrations are seeking to roll back last Monday seizure of power by the military and demanding the release from detention Suchi the country's ousted leader and other top figures from our National League for Democratic party earlier this week President Biden stated the United States' position on the military takeover over the past few days we've been in close cooperation with our allies and partners to bring together their national community to address the military coup in Burma. I've also been in touch a leader McConnell to discuss our shared concerns about the situation in Burma and we are united in our resolve there can be no doubt in a democracy for should never seek to overrule the will of the people or attempt to erase the outcome of a credible election. The Mermaid's military should relinquish power they have seized release the advocates and activists and officials they have detained lift the restrictions on telecommunications and refrain from violence as I said earlier this week we will work with our partners to support restoration of democracy in the rule of law and impose consequences on those responsible. President Biden Mayan Mar is also known as Burma I've been told apparently both names are adequate in are or can be used interchangeably a mind marred tends to be the name used by the pro-democracy forces Burma by the military the growing protests are a sharp reminder of the long and bloody struggle for democracy in a country that the military rule directly for more than 5 decades before losing its grip in 2012 cities government when a law won a landslide election in 2015 it was the 1st lead by civilians in decades the 1st government led by civilians in decades they would face a number of curbs to his power under a military drafted constitution and former Secretary of State George Shultz a titan of sorts of American academia business and diplomacy who spent most of the 1980 s. Trying to improve Cold War relations with the Soviet Union and for Judge course for peace in the Middle East has died he was 100 years old Schultz died Saturday is home on the campus of Stanford University where he was a distinguished fellow at the Hoover Institution a think tank a professor emeritus at Stanford Graduate School of Business the Hoover Institution announced his death and Sunday a cause of death was not provided and will be looking more into the career of George Schultz this week on w b a i Democrats prosecuting the former president for inciting a deadly insurrection of the u.s. Capitol will struggle to persuade at least 17 Republicans to convict Trump and bar him from office 45 of the 50 Republican senators back to bid last month to dismiss the trial essentially telegraphing how the final vote will play out but the trial set to be in Tuesday is ultimately a test of whether a president holding office that many of the nation's founders feared could become too powerful in the wrong hands is above the law senators will be forced to sit still listen to evidence and wrestle with elemental questions about American democracy there will be visual visceral evidence and the American people will also be sitting in their own form of judgment as they watch that record is sort. Grisly reminder on the human level of the horror at the Capitol on January 6th senators will review Trump's call that morning to fight like hell before the raw mob of loyalists showed up to the Capitol Hill to do just that senators will be reminded of the varieties chants calling for then vice president Mike Pence is hanging House prosecutors could resurface the image of a police officer crushed between doors blood trickling from his mouth as the violent crowd moved in there might be additional evidence of how another officer Brian sic Nick died defending the building if that's not enough senators will be reminded of their own vulnerability as they fled the mob entering their chamber one of the most rarified spaces in Washington in fear of their lives the chief of the Capitol Police lost his job for what members of Congress say was a lack of readiness to stop the invaders a lack of intelligence even as certain members of the body gave an alleged tour to the Capitol to the invaders the day before the new acting chief of the Capitol police 0 in on the Pittman dozens of insurrectionists stormed the u.s. Capitol the Capitol police officers who were on the front lines performed bravely and the face of extraordinary violence and destruction they were on hand to hand combat assaulted with chemical air tense. Hours they were assaulted with pipes bats bricks an American flag poles. And all 125 Capitol Police officers were physically assaulted and over 70 injured. The damage and extends beyond their physical injuries from a mental health perspective many are understandably struggling what happened was traumatic which is why we have been short our officers and their families get the counseling and peer support services they need. You know going on to Pittman akhi chief of the Capitol Police several members of the house give accounts during a tense emotional hour on the floor of the house organized by New York's Alexandria cause you know Cortez representative Corey Bush represents Ferguson Missouri that was not a protest I've been to hundreds of protests in my life after poll organize coldly laid an organized protest not only in Ferguson Missouri alone fact of amazing Ferguson frontline there most people don't even acknowledge they don't even know their names they don't even know who died they don't even acknowledge the Amaze the people that put their lives in Lavallee who would own the land for our safety believe in their black lives matter because they actually do it we should have to say it is it just be true but it's not evident in our society what we have to continue to say my life matters. Representative Cory Bush and Minnesota Democrat Dean Phillips recounted how he confronted his own white privilege as he faced what he thought may have been his death and we know what it feels like thinking that it's a real possibility that we would not see our families and loved ones again. We won't forget. We won't forget but I'm not here this evening to seek sympathy or just to tell my story. Rather to make a public apology for recognizing that we were sitting ducks in this room as the chamber was about to be breached I screamed to my colleagues to follow me to follow me across the aisle to the Republican side of the chamber. So that we could blend in. So that we could blend in. For I felt that the insurrectionists were trying to break down the doors right here would spare us if they simply mistook us for Republicans. But within moments I recognized that blending in was not an option available to my colleagues of color. So I'm here tonight to say to my brothers and sisters in Congress and all around our country I'm sorry I'm sorry. For I have never understood really understood what privilege really means. It took a violent mob of insurrectionists and a lightning bolt moment in this very room but now I know. Believe me I really you know. And that's Minnesota Democrat Dean Philips Michigan member if she had to play broke down in tears as her friend because you Cortez held her arm in support. This is so hard because as many of my colleagues know my closest colleagues know my fairy 1st day of orientation I got my 1st best threat it was a serious one they took me aside the f.b.i. Had to go to the gentleman's home. I don't even get sworn in yet and someone wanted to be dead for just existing. More came later uglier more violent one celebrating and writing New Zealand massacre and hoping that more would come another mention my dear. Mention you have. To warn me to realize me it's time. For what happened on January 6th all I could do was think the law better wasn't here I feel overwhelming relief and I feel bad for all Xandra so many of my colleagues they were here but I saw it for myself. When I'm not there for. Michigan Representative. Nearly 2 thirds of Americans believe Trump bears at least a moderate amount of responsibility for the riot That's according to a poll released last week by the Associated Press that includes half who say Trump cares a great deal or quite a bit of responsibility Meanwhile the g.o.p. Is narrowly focused on a more technical constitutional issue arguing that a president can't face an impeachment trial once out of office a path they believe is easier to defend than trying to rationalize trumps actions reflecting a big divide in the party between Trump and the traditional Republicans represented by the number 3 Republican in the house Lynne Cheney of Wyoming who faces censure vote by your state legislature for voting to impeach trump she addressed the issue on Fox News. I think you have to read the language of the center partly I think you know the people in the party are mistaken they they believe that b.l.m. An anti for were behind what happened here in the capital that's just simply not the case is not true and we're going to have a lot of work we have to do people have been lied to the extent to which the president President Trump for months leading up to January 6th spread the notion that the election had been stolen or that the election was rigged. Was a lie and people need to understand that we need to make sure that we as Republicans are the party of truth and they were being honest about what really did happen in 2020 so so we actually have a chance to win in 2022 and win the White House back in 2024. He went on to discuss the many criminal investigations ongoing into the insurrection there will be a massive criminal investigation of everything that happened on January 6th and in the days before people will want to know exactly what the president was doing they want to know for example whether the tweet that he sent out calling vice president pence a coward while the attack was underway whether that tweet for example was a premeditated effort to provoke violence there are a lot of questions that have to be answered and there will be many many criminal investigations looking at every aspect of this that everyone who was involved. Or Republican Lynne Cheney and the United Nations special envoy for Yemen arrived on his 1st visit to Iran Sunday for talks on the growing the war in the Arab world's poorest country Martin who is set to meet with Iranian foreign minister job as a reef and other officials during his 2 day visit. The sessions are part of a broader effort to negotiate a political solution to the nearly 6 year conflict pitting Iran allied who the rebels and and others deny that there is a connection between the with these in Iran seems to be a truism in the American media that such an exe alliance exists and that the who the rebels are in fighting the a many government forces which have been supported by the Saudi led military coalition the trip comes just after President Joe Biden announced that the u.s. Will end its support including some arms sales of this to the Saudi led coalition's war the long awaited move refocus a spotlight on the world's worst humanitarian crisis was welcomed by many Emily's and aid groups that hope the policy change might add to momentum for peace talks Code Pink action is Medea Benjamin says the Biden administration is moving in the right direction. There is indications that the by the administration is not going to be so close to this Saudis as certainly as Trump was and that's a positive thing that will be a change with the relationship with Iran there are people within the administration including the new envoy for Iran who is Rob Malley who really do understand a goshi ations and want to have a. Quick reentry into the Iran nuclear deal on the other hand there are very strong lobby groups in this country and outside the country like the Israelis who are trying to put up roadblocks and that includes some of the Republican senators and even some of the conservative Democratic ones who are trying to find ways to have legal avenues that they can use to block a lifting of the sanctions which Iran now says is a must before complying with the c.p.o. Way or the Iran nuclear deal so there are obstacles but I do think that by administration wants it back into that deal the question is how and the Iranians have put forward a credible way which is having the Europeans orchestrate the compliance for compliance meaning the u.s. Comes back into clients and Iran will as well but so far the by the ministration has not agreed to that and is still calling for Iran to comply 1st so that doesn't make any sense given that it's the u.s. They've got out of the agreement to begin with us should go back into the brain 1st you know it sounds a bit childish and diplomacy sometimes strikes me as a bit childish This is normal diplomacy it's domestic politics in the United States if it were in normal diplomacy the Iranian position of having the Europeans orchestrated since the Europeans. In the deal during this time they want the deal to succeed that would make sense but Biden is playing to domestic politics talking about Biden what do you think overall the direction of his cabinet his policies considering he was so close to Obama and Obama started a lot of this problem let's remember the Iran nuclear deal with negotiated under Obama so that is something that is a legacy achievement by the ministration would like to get back to but you're right in terms of other things such as getting into the Yemen war that was started under Obama yet they were under the ridiculous assumption that it was going to be very quick and easy we're almost 6 years later now I do think that the administration wants to get out of the war in Yemen he recognizes that it is a humanitarian catastrophe and that there is no winning this war militarily the Israeli pressure is a very very strong one it's interesting that Biden hasn't talked to Netanyahu since he came into power but that doesn't mean that Netanyahu is presence isn't being felt every single day within this administration and that makes things like getting into the Iran nuclear deal tolling out of the Yemen conflict because the Israelis sees that as an Iran Saudi proxy war makes it all much more difficult what should happen in Yemen once this is disengagement hopefully of the military conflict what should the u.s. And the other countries do next well there has to be an end to the war and the u.s. And other countries must put a lot of pressure on the Saudis to stop the war to stop the bombing and then go back to the negotiating table and then there is the issue of humanitarian aid and then rebuilding there is so much devastation in Yemen and the United States is not giving the amount of money that it owes given how much it was responsible for the destruct. In the u.s. Companies like Raytheon and Northrop Grumman and Lockheed Martin it was their weapons that were used by the Saudis in the amorality to destroy so much of the infrastructure of Yemen so the u.s. Has a big responsibility to give significant amount of money over a $1000000000.00 per year to help rebuilding. Pay activists Medea Benjamin You're listening to News and New York I'm Paul durian so and snow is coming down in New York City with the worse expected this afternoon to be is actually expected to be over and check out my window looks like the snow at least in Manhattan is coming to an end most area most areas saw up to 3 inches of snow and so far we're seeing some power outages across the city Queens has been hit particularly hard more than $1300.00 customers are without power including $120.00 to $120.00 customers in Brooklyn and $76.00 in the Bronx that's according to Con Edison and at and Staten Island appears spared for the most part right now with just one or 2 customers in the dark the storm is also causing to Robson's disruptions at La Guardia Airport this is the 2nd time in a week the Senate Taishan crews are out working to clear the roads department of sanitation official says Saturday that they have 200000 tons of salt on hand and more than 2000 department personnel ready to go he said the priest thought they had priest all to the streets before the 1st flakes hit on Sunday morning while at the department doesn't expect the storm to be as severe as when they hit the city earlier this week 100 additional plows will be on standby because as we all know you never know with the weather and the n.y.p.d. And the civilian complaint review board or a c c r b has signed a member a memorandum of understanding pledging to follow the police department's new discipline matrix the new disciplinary guidelines which took 2 years to develop outline repercussions for officer misconduct and also gives the c.c.r. Be more access to Officer records But critics point out that the guidelines are not required and the police commissioner has the final say on all disciplinary actions the mayor police commissioner Dermot Shea behead Fred Davies address the memorandum of understanding and disciplinary matrix that's meant to impart trust between New Yorkers and their police. I'll be simple and straightforward in saying for about 20 years over to me all of ministrations there was not much commitment to the c.r.b. We came in with the goal of reinvigorating it straight from the c c r b I think it's gotten stronger every year I think now we're doing something that really takes it into its fullness So this is going to be stronger since the c.r.b. Has ever been in its history every officer every civilian deserves due process also has to be clear if someone has done something wrong and it's been proven that there are clear consequences I think this makes things so much easier and clearer for everyone commissioner trust one simple word but it means a lot as I sit here and think I've been a police commissioner a little over a year but I've been a police officer coming up on 30 years and I've grown up in this city I've lived the majority of my life in this city and the topic of trust between the police says you hit it on the head we've been hearing about this for a long time. This document here which I can't tell you how many meetings I've been sad over this document it's not perfect We've already heard some criticism about but it's something that I'm proud of I think it's right I think it's going to go a long way to be an additional step in this process it's not the end it's part of this continual look at all that's happened just in the last 6 or 7 years the body one cameras the training that has been put into place. The policies that me personally have been involved with that I am very very proud of as you look back it as we shift I will be the 1st to say unfortunately we have a lot of work to do this year showed. It really did we have a lot of work to do and that's not to say we're completely fractured I don't think we are I think we have a good base to build on but we've got to we've got to water and we've got a lot to grow and we've got to nurture it. But when you look at the n.y.p.d. Currently we have 34000 uniformed members I think I would surprise a lot of people if I said that 31000 of them don't have a substantiated c.c.r. Be. 89 percent that's that's pretty significant So a lot of work to do still. We're proud of some of the things we do we also own the mistakes we. Thank you. But clearly the key to increasing trust in improving the relationship between the police department and the community is for people to really believe that they have a civilian oversight agency that can. Address consistently and with consequence the issues of police misconduct This him oh you along with the matrix guarantees that will get close to. Concurrence that is consistent agreement about the disposition of cases and the penalties that go with the major It is very specific about the types of penalties that apply to specific infractions of the patrol. And those that fall within the c.c. Or be sure stiction. The him oh you is explicit about those decisions being reversed or downgraded only in extraordinary circumstances so so this is a major step it's a break through step in terms of getting us closer to ensuring the decisions that makes our final Now I want to say for all my advocate friends out there Mr Mayor and police commissioner I've been on the record about the c.r.b. Having final authority over the. Cases and complaints that adjudicate this gets us as close as we can get given the current laws structure and it's and it's not to be underestimated I don't want to go too long but I'll make one other point if I can when night is that. We have pressing. As for the ways in which an image you like the one the commission I signed this morning can actually guide and direct how the c.c.r. Be interacts with the with the police department in a way that's going to be and it is effective for New Yorkers so I will cite the c c r B's ability after all was said and done to prosecute. Former police officer Daniel Penta Layo in the death of air Eric Garner the judicial system has run its course but because of the m.o. You that the c.c.r. Be established with the n.y.p.d. This is they are being previous previously the previous similar view that focused on our administration administrative prosecution unit that allows us to see or be to prosecute cases at the moment departmental trials because of that m.o. You we were able to take a step with of supplanting Layo that otherwise would not have been taken the same is true with 6 and the death of their own small so we have President where these him oh you white This has had real impact on the ability of the for the c.r.b. To do its job and carry out its responsibilities for the citizens of New York it will be a game changer in the concurrence rate between the and the n.y.p.d. . And that was earlier this week the mayor police measure Dermot Shea behead Fred Davies addressing the memorandum of understanding and disciplinary matrix that's meant to impart trust between New Yorkers and their police. And don't go away possess just some of the news today Sunday February 7th 2021 the news producer Linda Perry or engineers Mack shmeat I'm Paul Durie And so but stay tuned because we will be taking your calls for the next 30 minutes if you're not watching the ballgame and we'll be talking about some of the stories we ran today about the c.c.r. Be about the upcoming impeachment trial 2nd impeachment trial of President Donald Trump about some of the things that were said by some of those congresspeople who were speaking just a few days ago about their fears and what they went through and what they learned from their experience under fire in the United States Capitol. Our number here is tell you in a minute but our number is. I'm singing here right as I look for the number thanks to by the way to Medea Benjamin It is a great job as usual always there you know on a Sunday a difficult day by any. By any stretch of the imagination and w b a I phone number on air phone number 212-209-2877 so remember that rebel musical break be back in a minute. Little Allowed those of the rockin. Tunes of my and Burma that's great music to get that and listen to it's a nightly to run by the way I'm here my name is Gary Byrd is not here and his experience he is on assignment I am told and will be back next week at the same time and place in the meantime. I hope you're not disappointed could be stuck with me I am not much of a focal fan but hopefully people can help me out in understanding this ward and who the characters are behind it end what this game today means maybe you could tell us something about it and tell me if you're not a vegetarian if you're able to buy wings which I'm told were hard to come by in this city for this weekend's game and of course the mayor and others have warned people not to have the Super Bowl parties this time of year it's I know it's a big thing for a lot of people but this is not the time to have a Super Bowl party I don't know how many people are listening to that but you know it's interesting that since President Trump has been gone and has not been having his big rallies the numbers of cases in the United States have pled tone and seem to be coming down I don't know that's it's unscientific to say right off the bat there's a connection there but it might be worth an investigation that's where there's a lot of investigations need to be done the White House and the former. Stray ssion the 2nd trump impeachment trial begins on Tuesday you know sometimes so connected to it watching it every day I think everybody must know that right but of course we all and most of us do have better things to do in our lives but maybe this is one time when it's worth listening to the stuff to want 22092877 that's our number 212-209-2877 you can join in become part of the news and this is your talk back you can talk back to me and talk back to the news department hopefully he'll help us out and learn more and to to help the listeners to. Become even even more knowledgeable one of the most knowledgeable audiences I've ever addressed and it's brought me back year after year time after time to work here and to and to talk with you folks the listeners of w.b.i. And to to learn from you and to to delve into these issues that are so important to us today together it's always been a great privilege for me to be able to do that and I feel privileged to be here and to take your calls are numbers again 212-209-2877 now I was fascinated by what we were listening to earlier the statements made by the people who are in or near the House the Capitol building on January 6th when the Morani invaders took the building and tried to overthrow the elected government of the USA For prevent the elected government from taking office that's definitely a 1st in American history. I there's many many better and more. Investigators in the presidential history in the history of American presidents but I do know that there was one I think it was the Andrew Jackson gave a big party at the White House and the. Swer. That's where we have some calls coming in that's why they had a big party everybody invaded it and there's still bullet holes inside the White House from drunken Partiers firing off their guns into the furniture and stuff and nobody was hard fortunately and I think the president really enjoyed it and had a good time that was Andrew Jackson quite a long time ago he had some calls so I remember to turn your radio down because we're on delay and so is you have to listen to your phone don't listen to your radio be ready for that Ok we'll save some time if you're ready to do that and you see listener and beloved listener Adobe Ai are on the air Mary. Russell Iraq's a what's happening we're looking at if you notice when they try to pick up good pickup because they've got to. Carry the Capitol police a few of them through their arms up here like don't shoot you know to. Actually no I have to look at it more carefully I've actually looked of one of the long videos but I was so focused on that woman being shot I mean I had never really you know it's I think the 1st time I ever saw somebody shot on television was Lee Harvey Oswald so it's an unusual thing you don't really see it happen too much. But with are you saying that these folks were like mimicking like black lives matter like for white lives matter type of thing or something like that would probably be more of an airtight government wowie not so much approach from proudly I think it was across the country they're going to try to write for a moment current I think they get their hands up don't gesture because a lot of people there were from different sorts of groups and what I really want to people I want to go into different direction how are you reporting the memory more situation I don't believe it's ever called me anymore. For violating a law right. Well I think they said that it's similar to what happened and I devoutly I'm just starting to look into it and there's a lot more to to learn about this and I think in future newscast are going to hear more about it as I delve a little deeper into this subject but I do believe that the as she won the election and they were concerned that there was a violation there that it was it sounded to a lot of people I've talked to very similar to this country where Trump in this case the military claimed there were as it was unfair or there was some sort of corruption and therefore they invalidated the vote but consider when you see all the people in the streets protesting in a nonviolent protest seen by the hundreds of thousands in the streets of Yangon the capital it makes you wonder what's really going on and specially the history of the government there we have some other calls coming into America during the primary I don't know if you want my remarks or sort of stories on that for sure you're going to yes we have a lot of calls coming in so. All right. How are you thank you very much Paul for taking the call now and I wanted to speak up for we still have. Most of the listeners are senior citizens and I want to start perhaps and have already made many calls to Washington d.c. Speaking up for senior citizens on the stimulus the coal that after all the covert . Geared for senior citizens that they were going to get it most vulnerable here we are also suffering from economic anxiety which is also a stress which affects our health and there are many things citizens especially women who are paid in. 70 percent of what a man did and who are retired getting Social Security checks that are below poverty social security check below poverty and I have I've been calling different people at Washington d.c. And and speaking up for seniors and said that there should be separate not one big bill of $1.00 trillion dollars But there should be separate they should be in pieces and that if should be addressed 1st then they should all be means tested so that for instance for seniors who get Napco get heap look at Medicare savings who have a Social Security check below poverty wages that they are the ones that get a check not one check but a number of checks and that therefore the Republicans are voting against a granny that they will be challenge than a primary and then you do it for the children you do it for the unemployed you do it for each group and pieces and then you challenge the Republicans to you're not going to help the unemployed Oh you're not going to check out the children oh you're not going to help the. And so forth. Wow that's great what a great idea thank you for that and you you expresses so succinctly and so clearly I really appreciate that thank you very much here and I hope people who are listening I will definitely be following that very good thank you very much and let's move on to the next call comments or questions thank you very much and I'm going to turn your phone down. Oh yes you're on a hot coffee into that moment. I was going to call about the impeachment which most people I keep hearing over and over before going conclusion they won't convict him but. If you look at the arithmetic there are 5 Republicans voted to go ahead with the impeachment only 7 voted. On January 6th to go ahead and try and block the election which means $38.00. Senators in between there my interpretation of the 4555 due to the Senate was it meant that the Republicans would rather duck the question if well you know the interesting thing I thought. You know one of their just to comment on that one of the interesting aspects of what happened last week was that Liz Cheney the attempt to try and remove her from her number 3 position happened behind closed doors while the vote on Marjorie Taylor Green happened in public so everyone knew how you voted and I think that's very interesting and I think that might have had a lot to do with it in it tells me that people are fearful I mean that in a way is partly why you play all those comments because there's a a level of fear. Among members of the House and Senate as to what could happen to them not just political fear but actual physical fear of what could happen to them I agree but I'm still saying that if you've got 38 people who didn't vote you know either for continuing the big lie or 0 for impeachment all you need is 12 of them to convict that's left on a 3rd of that you think that might happen maybe something will come out do you think I'm also sure and I but I don't I wouldn't continuously rule it out. I would say let's put whatever pressure we can on senators to do the right thing and keep our fingers crossed well that something will come out I think that maybe they there's some film maybe there's some footage training or some wiretap of something else I mean even if you're just going through the day by day bombardment of the big alive from November through January the fact is the guy was whole hog on disrupting and breaking the law that was obvious I can see why right people see that coming All right thank you very much Caller Hello her that's all hit you over good like you take care thank you. And next call you're on the radio w b a i n Our number is 212-209-2877 you're on the air Paul you mentioned about the tented crew on January 6th you know back in the early thirty's a group of industrialist tried to end stablish a coup d'etat. With Brian where you are nearly 19 thirties right and it was exposed by a man named General Smith certainly Daryn can buckler my hero who is alive you know he was completely discredited by the media at that time but it's in the book it's in the or it's in the Congressional Record right you know it's a great book to it's called the behind nun and the Nile and Kurt you know in the nylon curtain because the one of the big industrial companies that were involved in this were the Dupont company in the Du Ponts Yes And I think also i.b.m. . The early i.b.m. General if they were going to go off or when they went off the gold standard they rich felt that the their gold hold their holdings in gold would be devalued and there'd be inflation it would be worth as much of a little bit happened General Smedley Butler Darlington brother exposed it right what did. It's a way to say to me you made that famous speech I was a alcohol and could best alcohol good do is operate in 3 Alderman districts I operated on 3 continents something to that effect as a u.s. Marine. Are thank you very much very good Ok I'm going to get you 2 very interesting calls as usual the b a I listeners are on top of it they know their history in the United States I wish more people knew that kind of history Our number again 212-209-2877 appalled this extended to be a I News sit in for Gary Byrd who's on assignment and. You're on the air. Right thank you so much for putting. The counter. I think you should report it could be a I did right after I put a clip of it be a I played it and I think if you go to w b I dot org you'll see a link there I know right away. But I think you repeat it more because people tend. To write an amazing you know. And again thank you I discovered when you played. I could Ok cool yeah I will definitely play it again for sure coming up all right thank you very much yes and they replayed it I knew it on Saturday I'm told yes trade noon they replayed it it is an amazing statement an amazing document as you call it a historical document will be people be studying that for decades if not centuries so true. And I had to. Come right back. Before this happened and I had the. Meeting if you would make it 3 and make it 3 for me halfway through a card that I had. All right very good running through. The election. From your neck in here and. It would be kind of dependent Bamako are 3 you know one of the powers that kind of do our kind of thing and it was amazingly for me. When I can provide an off the record account of. A very good. You know he did think the 3rd thing you really find out. Running for work I mean the are part of what I'd be running and it would vary for me to know all right that guy I'm very interested of course and I'm sure will generate a lot of interesting stories for w b I thank you very much all right well we have time for quite a few more calls so our number. Is 212-209-2877 you're on the radio you know you're on the air Paul b. You pulled your answer yeah so close are you doing all right you know what. They call you a little even compliment you on doing such a great job. Or rating beyond the b I you can use I mean every time whenever I am off I'm not busy I always make sure to take the clock if they hear your voice if you already knew so well how how well thank you I'm glad somebody was here my voice usually people run from my voice but that he ferry much I appreciate that. Yeah. If so how have your stoner friend record I watched a couple of Michael Moore's videos because I love Michael Moore I mean I mean he was on every Goodman and before the election and Amy Amy she needed to happen back on after the. Review no absolute by Biden claim victory and out after the an African Suresh But Michael Moore you post if you had a video online actually insurrection and you probably thought you probably thought already feel no I haven't actually I will go see it I can see every day I spend my own days why eyeballs are fall out of my head from watching all this stuff and of course I never see everything but I'll check that out. Yeah but the travesty was not my thing about why the Republicans don't want to impeach this guy and Michael Moore yet that come think about you know people sheer people have a fear of like a Black Planet you know most ridiculous thing. Yeah whites are crimes I mean it's not you're not it's why the fascists I think in a way when you try to say the way of saying I don't minority like you know people of all ethnicities are becoming the majority and that's what sharing the. You know you know people that of I guess the. Anglo understand you see the interesting poll result I saw this morning on one of the one of the those Sunday talk shows and they said that the Democrat the Republican Party is is literally split 46 percent to 46 percent 46 percent love Trump and see it as Trump's party and 46 percent support Lynne Cheney so and her positions so the Republican Party seems to be splitting fissioning into 2 parts. At least on the surface it got but if the guy clearly caused an insurrection so he gets impeached twice and there and some of the happy people still buy from this guy to make sure he can run 2024 I mean that's how big and demented if people are because they. Listen to him during any more. I don't disagree with every conspiracy theory theory out there I've been very interested in what the what might have happened and some of the conspiracy theories which seem to hold water that I've heard over the years whether it's the Martin Luther King assassination which I think is beyond his or the John f. Kennedy Beyond Conspiracy Theory I think we have lots of facts in those questions and so that I won't deny her doubts or for that but it's what she's using people's ignorance of politics and the and how the world works to what end she's looking using people's. Being unprepared for side unscientifically prepared and able to take facts and to critically assess those facts and using that to weaponize people's ignorance. That is what bothers me more calls come in and I move on thank you for your call all right next call you're on the air. Now this is Rose from Flemington New Jersey how are we don't hear about Kris Kobach peddling with all those voters in the. Orient total Hispanic and black voters a number of years ago well I've won his name came up being the news I sort of like you know covered as it comes up so his name hasn't recently been in the news least yet I don't he washed over it we need to get on that when we need to pound on that drum or I will file Chris call backs up that he's up to something right oh yeah and as far as the reason our good Democratic Party isn't doing anything I think that we're dealing with major blackmailers here. Well I. Might have said that was an extreme point of view 6 weeks ago but I don't think so anymore and then we also have the fact that we look at those wonderful attorneys he hired All right well they're not even to be talking about the issues or what what happened they're just going to try and you know say they don't know they've been known to. Various mobsters and Russian Mafia as well right well I mean everybody deserves a good defense and what's interesting to me is the only defense that Trump has is that this is he's not president anymore so he can't be somebody is not president and actually there's lots of evidence that in fact you can so you know nobody is actually saying he didn't do what he did We're going to see plenty of tapes when he a video I remember seeing it myself about the things that Trump said we might be seeing things we haven't heard before yet about what the president said to stir up people and to end so many people would end as somebody earlier one of the earlier callers said this was an anti-government thing well definitely a lot of people went in there thinking the president of the United States was I guess is the head of the government told of the do it so I don't know if they were doing it against the government or they were doing it for the government I don't think they knew. And there not you're right let's face it we have a lot of people in this country and the other thing I like all this is a lot of of. Them let's not think I'm a criminal drinking go ahead right I'm a blind person and I heard on this number 26 of 19 about this new fact that you know the virus that was killing people in Paris hospitals now you tell me why somebody in that degree of power had nobody listened to the radio over not on the b.b.c. I mean I just wake up oh you don't care we can go you don't have time this is a wonderful area of discussion people are dead because of him yes and I believe that entirely I fully I've said that many times I think the guy thinking about how much a negligent criminal likes you know homicide but I'm not a lawyer thank you very much or not you bye bye I really appreciate it has a good point you know I think we have to look at that have one or one call maybe I don't know 2 I would hope you're on the air go ahead. Going that just the whole visualization of going in there with a rope and saying hang somebody I mean that does a touch a nerve in American history I mean Jay's that's like the wrong way to go really wrong thing to say I mean even if you want to threaten somebody to sit there frighten him with a rope we all know what that means all right that's the problem. Tunes of medium are coming your way over w b a r in New York we're going to rush. Or program. Gold or made radio an aid for everything old is new again and. Somebody is. Very key to the whole gig the thing that Reaganomics said is irrelevant is the central point. Of bankers since the creation of banks. Its debt. To the young guns and butter and all today show the power of money. Is an international political analyst and author he is currently a visiting professor of geopolitics at Northwestern University on China among the specimen books are a century of Anglo-American oil politics and the New World Order. Of money Wall Street and the death of the American century and scenes of destruction the hidden agenda of genetic manipulation. Completing a trilogy on the control of oil food and money his latest book is the last page of on whom the gods would destroy about the CIA and political Islam Today we discuss his book The gods of money Wall Street and the death of the American century. William angle good to talk to you again good to be with you again bombing in your introduction to the gods of money well Street and the death of the American century you write that this book is not a conventional account of money banking or economics but rather a history of power a history of the colossal abuse of power in the hands of the gods of money who and what are you referring to as the gods of money. What I refer to and what I trace out in the book from the earliest beginnings. Xandra. First National Bank of the United States which wasn't a national bank but was of last. Traced use the gobs of money on the international bankers. That buy and sell nation as they finance was just like the Napoleonic wars the army control of guns United States from the us was abandoning the rough childlike of the United States. This so-called gobs of money see themselves as above nations of the people. Scots and there's an expression by Henry Kissinger back in the 1970 s. When he was a. Power and he said if you control the oil you control nations or groups of nations if you control the food you control the people if you control the money you control the entire world and that in essence is the use gender the guts of money what I call the guts that's what the small g. By the way you write that money is nothing more and nothing less than a political creation a promise to pay backed up by the government and its military power and obviously also with the government's ability to tax that gives it such enormous power but if the government is what backs up the value of money then how is it that banking is in private hands well that's that's the great mystery of the West I would say 500 years of Western civilization. When the City of London began to rise in the $6090.00 days of the Bank of England and so forth these were private merchant bankers created in a bank called the Bank of England and they lent to the Crown to finance wars against France against. Whoever. And because the Crown did not understand the power of money and they didn't most governments including the communist governments Karl Marx years ago I studied when I was in Sweden I studied does come to town Karl Marx and called much never understood the fundamentals or didn't want to understand a central bank in the creation of money and this is kind of the secret of secrets the inner sanctum of power that that we never seem to get our hands around there are a bunch of gangsters and crooks all the gods of money or the banks of Wall Street there are only about 7 of them really there is Goldman Sachs Citi Group. Bank of America Wells Fargo for 5 others j.p. Morgan Chase and so on and. They have systematically over the course of the period since the were 2 step by step created a silent coup d'etat taking over every institution of influence in the American body politic they've ripped up the Constitution they've financed wars the wars in the Middle East and so forth they stand behind the military industrial complex that is these days because of all the wars. They control the Federal Reserve the creation of the Federal Reserve you know many people live the illusion or the balance for mission of the Federal Reserve is a solemn u.s. Government institution it's nothing of the sort it's a private central bank. Controlled by private capital controlled by. J.p. Morgan Chase. A.i.g. At times and at its stock is all privately the central bank the Federal Reserve Bank of New York being the most powerful of the various Reserve banks so. If you can control the pot of money that the Constitution of the United States has a fairly decent document this is the single and the $505.00 This gave the power to print and point money to the Congress of the United States well in December. 1013 in a coup d'etat. J.p. Morgan's and John d. Rockefeller Citi Group and j.p. Morgan bank with Woodrow Wilson as a hired hand there are paid. Created the Federal Reserve Act that took that power away from the elected u.s. Congress and put it in the hands of the private bankers the international bankers of wash treat and those are who I refer to as the cons of money with the small tree because they see themselves as gods maybe maybe the title if I were to rewrite the book today. Probably change the title because it gives them too much respect because there are no gods that are there in the past a logical. If you look at people like David Rockefeller. The chairman of Goldman Sachs or the chairman of. Jamie Diamond of j.p. Morgan Chase these are 2nd passes are people that. You often quote Henry Kissinger's famous line which you've mentioned that if you control the money you control the entire world how is it that control of the currency turns out to be the most powerful control even more than oil insisted. Mounted to the written words conference and 944 that conference was run by the us Treasury and the fair of 5 international Wall Street banks especially in the raf under Citi Group and. They arranged was that the entire free world monetary order Britain which would be oriented toward the Us dollar and the Us dollar would be the only currency convertible for. The dollar was as good as gold and at that time the Federal Reserve had something like 70 percent of the monetary gold in the entire world so there were sitting in heaven you know. There was no challenger on the face Europe was a ripple effect through the war Japan was an Ashes thermonuclear question sextant very Truman and the Pentagon China was undergoing an internal revolution. Devastated 27 or 29000000. Militants when we were wont to for the United States is effective so at that point they created. A system that was based on the dollar and if the dollar is the reserve currency held by every other nations Central Bank then. They have to finance everything all their training their purchase of their purchase of raw materials on the world not that in dollars so they have to come up with those dollars somewhere and that creates a demand for dollars that allows the United States to run. A balance of payments deficit since 1971 almost every single year with the exception of one or 2 years during Clinton's regime one in the Social Security. Spike created a little bit of a surplus so. The dollar as reserve currency is one of 2 pillars as a. Articles and books 2 pillars of American a Gemini or American power the 2nd pillar is that the u.s. Military should be 2nd to none in the world so those $2.00 are served what does that mean dollars are currency if the u.s. Runs a deficit Well China has a trade surplus Germany has a trade surplus what do they do with the surplus dollars they buy u.s. Treasury bonds that is that the u.s. Government to do. Run deficit without even blinking an eye so the Chinese de facto are financing u.s. Military operations that are against Chinese national interests that are against German national interests and NATO wants of the coup d'etat new crane in 2014 a good example of that German industry suffered grievously from that could it tough but that is because the dollar is reserve currency still to this day now the euro back in 2000 or so and in 2002 when it became a. Functioning alternative currency you know it had. Grave flaws in its design there was no political central government for United States of Europe like in the us about. But despite that the euro was on its way to becoming not turning to the dollar because at that point George w. Bush was running after the 2005 actual crisis was running at it will deficit is one trillion 1.3 trillion it was just skyrocketing out of control the Chinese said we are not at all mused by the level of indebtedness of the u.s. Government because our previous investments in u.s. Debt is becoming endangered if this continues and they started moving their surplus trade surplus into Urals and at that point. Washington The u.s. Treasury Financial Warfare Unit and so forth reacted together with street with an attack the weak link of the Year Old namely the Greek. Founder of the Greek debt which Goldman Sachs that arranged for the Greek government a few years before so this is the kind of thing if you can create money out of thin air and everybody else is required to get that money that u.s. Dollar that you have a power this is awesome Yes it is ironic that as you point out it's the u.s. Government's in deaded ness because of the reserve currency status of the dollar. Other countries are having to finance the u.s. Military to attack them yet that's exactly. What's out and. Only slowly Are they beginning to realize this the Chinese I think begin to realize is. 6 or 7 years ago. You know the answer and that's more than a trillion dollars in best u.s. Treasury if a government once you know some people don't get all I want you know think of the u.s. No it doesn't work if they do that and China will go through a horrendous financial crisis so they have to figure out some way and what they're doing is buying gold the same as the Russians they're buying every Bargo they can get their hands on the market cheaper and better but you know they'll be a premium and ultimately working toward creating going back Renminbi or you won as an alternative to the dollar is the point where the dollar becomes recognize well as a completely worthless paper currency. Then things that I never completely understood is why it is that the central banks of other countries use their surplus dollars to buy u.s. Treasury notes is there no worry else for them to put put those dollars lots in the mentions For example China or before that in the eighty's it was Japan . They had tens or hundreds of billions of dollars in trade surplus much new with the us that was a diabolical thing you know you can buy Japanese cars and the us said oh come on in we don't care about Detroit you know but our cars because you finance our debt and we can make less and take over other countries and. You know we're sent Ok and that's going to work so. There are almost no alternatives the euro was the most promising potential alternative back in 20072008 money was going into the euro from Japan. From Russia from other countries to those of the European governments and that's the Greek crisis was triggered by the u.s. Treasury Financial Warfare Unit in 2 classes tend to stop the attraction of the euro as the latter and it pretty well succeeded short term well is the Wall Street financial warfare against the e.u. Against the euro that is is that continuing today. Sure. Sure I think. I wrote a piece on this recently but the comments come 2nd amik team Navarro Peter. Especially about the Germany being a currency manipulator this is kind of corny language and you really have to dig a little bit by the surface to figure out what they're talking about but what they're talking about. If you read certain position papers that Peter Navarro was the trades are now under under Trump he wrote in September of last year before the election de facto the creation of the euro makes Germany the king of the hill makes Germany a currency manipulator and of course the German government completely shocked by this attack says no we have no collar it's European Central Bank that is creating the currency is valuation of the euro and treat mask to treat it we have no power over you draw the former Goldman Sachs banker. Who's the head of the European Central Bank and is doing these credit operations is bind of. Words instead of the banks of your stocks of Europe so. If what the truck administration is doing is. Targeting the euro itself or demolition. And that will create quite a bit of disruption in the European economies are sure you but they smell that this is clearly seal that to any potential future threat to the Germany of the u.s. Dollar they should just finish up this euro thing once and for all it's an artificial supranational currency with no. Super national government behind it the European Parliament is a joke. They pretend to have some some power but it's a joke the national government still to me society hold on to what power they still have to be Brussels France under Marine Le Pen if she becomes president will leave the euro and in France leave 0 it's over it's over and that's a not so unbelievable prospect so you know the Brits it began the tumbling of the dominoes all the eurozone and I think the European Union I believe me I mean for stability and tranquility and all these things the European Union is a Frankenstein monster It has nothing to do with the original intent of chose to go or up now or back in the sixty's when they talked about a Europe of the for their lands or national sovereignty would be the foundation stone of cooperation agreements between the member nations that time 6 or 7. Now it's become this undemocratic unelected faceless supranational bureaucracy of defacto let's call it what it is fascist who want top down control over every facet of life of citizens in the countries of the European Union they want to dictate to countries such as Hungary or Germany or whatever how many Well refugees they must take and integrate into their economies well. What is this isn't about you know who's causing the errors it's Nagel who's causing the Arab Spring who's causing this Syria thing it's a get out and states Pentagon it's the CIA it's a State Department it's turkey it's Qatar and Saudi Arabia so why should Europe have to accept millions of. War crazed refugees many of them terrorist What is this this isn't about humanitarianism every country in the world opens its borders to anybody without questions asked America never did that you have to have a certain criterion of who you want to be a citizen in your country who you deem can assimilate into your culture learn your language and so forth but in Europe on the back on the governments in Brussels have just opened the floodgates because certain interests like George Soros the European Council on Foreign Relations and so forth the Vatican finances. They want to destroy the national identity and I think Borders matter I think national identity matters and I think national currencies matter not supranational things like the euro or the Brussels Commission or the European Parliament that has no connection to the interests. I'm speaking with William and all I'm going to back new You're looking at guns and butter this is a. Great. Back to the gods of money it's almost 400 pages actually 390 pages it's very very readable and money as William and da points out is very little understood in let it control. And the book is very much about how the banking and its been taken over by private interests rather than the government and these private interests term for themselves be it the Rockefeller's or the Rothschilds or j.b. J.p. Morgan et cetera et cetera and how they're basically ripping Every went on and people don't understand what money you know and how it works but William Engdahl break good down the book Gods of money I'll read you a little description of it it covers a down amount of area about money finance geopolitics you know and it. Took about however and about an extraordinarily wealthy elite that has wielded unprecedented power not for the good but rather for the enhanced meant. The private position to track the evolution of the power amassed by a group of men who have regarded themselves quite literally as God the God of money that agenda has included that the nation of 2 of America's most popular president involvement of the United States against the public will in time world wars and detonation of the world's most destructive weapon the atomic bomb on Japanese civilians it has included a regional political assassination. And demand a corruption of the body politic. The book reveals how this powerful elite have to magically set out to literally control the entire world backed by the most powerful military force the world has ever seen because of money well Street and the death of the American century our gift to you today for a $100.00 hack deductible donation to w b i give us a call 5662 throughout. The route to 5.203 to give that number to w b o r g If you're just tuning in I'm Tony Faulkner has gotten better Tony when I went on I'm coming to you Michael have gone to as well today on w. I I and I'd like to talk maybe a little bit later in the show about the assassination of 2 u.s. President specifically Abraham Lincoln and surprisingly enough maybe even John f. Kennedy having to do with the issuance of government treasury notes that are not issued by private banks 516-6203 thank. You Well Tony have you had a chance to take a look at this incredible book I have I mean I was just pulling out a quote that I had last night and it's funny that you mentioned President Kennedy in. 1111. Should talk about his backing the currency with and I quote him here which was interesting. It was the 1st time that a president had interest money in the for the 1st time a president challenge the flow of money power the private reserve interesting that you were just talking about that might have a quote ready to go where you have to show we were to speak and. What you talk about. So. You know what. And Bunny if we jump back this Tony Bates joining the conversation here if we jump back to the quote from me from Mr Kissinger that your guest Mr Engel brought up if you can control of the currency you can control the country or you can control the world and that's really what this is about and the point that I'd like to bring in here as well is that this is a story that's never told in the mainstream media and there's a reason this story is never told in the mainstream media because they are one of the units that supports this oligarchy this worldwide money oligarchy and the other point that's important one is that this is a world wide situation isn't just a u.s. Situation where the u.s. Banks to control it they control the world really through their currency this this this revelation and during your program that it is really through the paying of the bonds that foreign countries buy from this country that supports the wars that. The end up getting their own countries bombed with the money they've given to the u.s. That is a key and it's a key would never hear in the mainstream media and why you must support programs like guns and butter call us at 5166203602 a $100.00 pledge of support gets you this book the gods of money it is a breakdown of Wall Street it's an undrafted thing of them and it was the starting again at the beginning of the u.s. And the 1st central bank it tells the story of how central banks and money are used to control the entire planet 516-620-3602 is the phone number for you to call a pledge of support of just 100 dollars to this program and Buddy I hear so much about your program from listeners so much about how they love it a guy came in to me last week and see him since maybe 2011 or 12 and he said to me thank you so much for. Putting guns and butter on these airwaves I'm so grateful you brought the can remember the name of the show he just said that show that woman the brilliant woman who brought from California that show and I kept getting our guns and butter Yes and the phenomenal program that you do here in guns and butter and it's this kind of programming that must be supported folks I hear I get enough people saying we don't want this thing on the end we don't want that thing on the air but when you hear something that's solid that you can believe in this program is solid every week tune in every Wednesday at 9 am and see what you get on this program and it is information information information and it's and exposing of The Wizard of Oz himself 516-620-3602 was the phone number to call him about 5 more calls we're going back to the interview in just a moment we want 5 more people to join us people on the line now pledging that that $100.00 level for the book the gods of money Bunny back to you. Thought Thank you yes you won't be disappointed Brooke I can highly highly recommend it so important and very readable and actually. And we appreciate all that you've done to sustain us thus far but we need your help those of you listening throughout this tristate area and beyond and above me we're going to jump in about 2 minutes of that interview and come back and ask people to pledge again good as I write in my book a century of war and also document further in my 2nd book Myths Lies and oil wars what took place at the salt to bottom median of the builder group in May 1973 was a discussion of the world oil market and OPEC a discussion where. The attendees were told that the world was on the brink of a dramatic increase of OPEC oil prices and he gave some numbers which worked out to pretty much on the dot 400 percent increase and the discussion of the build a bigger group was not how can we convince the Arab oil sheiks the king of Saudi Arabia the Shah of Iran and others not to do such a dramatic price increase because that would cause a world world recession instead they talked about what do we do with the petro dollars How do we recycle as Henry Kissinger put it he was invited to that build a big meeting by the way as secretary of state under Nixon who was fighting Watergate at the time. And they discussed how do we make sure we recycle the huge increase of dollar flows for oil sales on the world market into the vaults of Chase Manhattan Bank David Rockefeller's Bank city group the banks of like Barclays and Lloyds Bank in the city of London Rothschild banks and we control where those petro dollars go in the world and that's precisely what happened in October of 1973 through the shuttle diplomacy of Henry Kissinger the young Kapoor war as it was called Israel against Egypt in the Arab countries took place and true to what he threatened to do the king of Saudi Arabia embargoed oil flows from OPEC to Rotterdam in Europe and to the United States there were gasoline lines everywhere in the United States back then I remember vividly. Having to stand for. Quite a long time just to get a tank of gasoline. And that was part of the strategy the oil shock was a planned strategy to recapitalize the banks of Wall Street the major banks and to make the dollar strong again the dollar shot up through the roof during the rest of the 1970 s. There was a 2nd oil shock when the Shah of Iran fell and Khomeini came in and 1979 in Iran and those 2 or oil shocks created a colossal inflation in the world the great inflation that Paul Volcker was called down from New York where he was a vice president of David Rockefeller Chase Manhattan Bank he was called down to become chairman or governor of the Federal Reserve by President Carter and Paul Volcker claimed that inflation had to be squeezed out of the system while the inflation was caused by the oil shock but no economist no government official linked the 2 together so to squeeze inflation out of the system Paul Volcker raised interest rates by 300 percent in 1979 in a period of some 6 months and what he squeeze was life out of the American economy the u.s. Went into a deep recession but not only the u.s. The economies of Latin America Mexico Brazil Argentina and so forth who had borrowed these petro dollars from the city of London from euro dollar banks at floating interest rates and when they borrowed the money back in the seventy's the interest rates are floating at a very low level and they said oh this is a good deal suddenly in a period of 6 months the debt service on their loans their dollar loans to those banks. Exploded by 300 percent and those loans became unpayable that was the beginning of the Latin American debt crisis all of it preplanned they were nations of Latin America were forced by the International Monetary Fund which was nothing but the. The hard cop for The Wall Street and London banks they were forced to take national responsibility for the debts of their oil companies and other private concerns that had borrowed the money for the dollars at low interest rates and that became public debt and the governments of Argentina Brazil and so forth were forced to undergo i.m.f. Conditionalities to repay that public debt and the conditionalities were almost the same the same as they are today in new crane and other Well Ukraine is an exception but in Africa and other countries the i.m.f. Would tell the government you have to let your currency devalue dramatically so your exports can come onto the world market to pay your debt then you have to cut the public budget and if you have subsidies for food for your poor population or if you have. Budgets for education or health services that has to be slashed. Your spending beyond your means and you can't borrow anymore unless you do this shock therapy and you have to privatized years state owned assets your oil companies your copper mines your gold mines whatever and at that point with the cheap in currency the dollar could buy anything and did buy anything people like George Soros became the largest land owner in Argentina back in those days because it was dirt literally dirt cheap. And that was the next step in the looting process that kept the banks of Wall Street and City of London on life support artificial life support it's known as looting well that kept them above water until the end of the 1980 s. And at that point they were in serious liquidity problems the major banks of Wall Street Citibank Wells Fargo Chase Manhattan Bank of America they were all in 1909 de facto bankrupt insolvent there was an emergency meeting at the White House. Bob Dole was involved in that meeting he was a. Potential presidential candidate and I came into possession of a fax facsimile summary from a contact of mine on Wall Street of what was discussed at that meeting and it was the dire state of the largest banks in America and how to recapitalize them and at that point something very interesting happened Poland and the communist government of Poland collapsed and a trade union based organization called Soul that N.O.'s supported by the Reagan administration supported by the National Endowment for Democracy and by the CIA as well as Pope John Paul the 2nd the Polish pope elected a non-Communist government the 1st domino in the Warsaw Pact Soviet Union system collapsed and it wasn't long the end November of 1909 before the Berlin Wall fell down and George Soros and Jeffrey Sachs from Harvard University with Larry Summers coordinating the show under the Clinton administration. As Deputy Treasury Secretary. Began the looting of Poland with shock therapy as Jeffrey Sachs called it the looting of Poland Eastern Europe former communist countries of Eastern Europe but above all the looting of the crown jewel of the whole thing what now was the Russian Federation Boris Yeltsin was brought in with the help of. 2 a group of corrupted k.g.b. Generals that had contact with the Western CIA services and literally became billionaires in return for selling out their country and they developed a group of young entrepreneurs in there mostly in their early twenty's the oldest was $42.00 sneaking Bourse fares all ski and link them up with Western banks rigs bank of Washington d.c. Which was well known since 1950 s. CIA bank Riggs Bank set up a branch in Geneva for money laundering called Riggs Val met and the Russian oligarchs that were being created by these k.g.b. Generals would literally steal the assets under the Yeltsin regime Yeltsin was their man he was told his family could become fabulous Lee wealthy if they please the game which he did and the oil and gas resources of Russia the Russian Federation now. Were looted in a fraudulent privatization inflation went up to 2500 percent at one point the ruble was completely worthless that was part of the strategy so that dollars could buy any and every asset that was worth mine. And George Soros and his friends . Ronald Lauder and others came in and began plundering the Russian economy the money was longer through Switzerland through the Isle of Man and through other offshore centers and the Bank of New York. And this was the real origin of the so-called Russian organized crime it was called the Russian Mafia it wasn't even Mafia but it was these k.g.b. Generals that had sold out their country 300 senior k.g.b. Officers involved in the plot fled Russian were giving us. Residency status outside of Washington and Virginia and permanent very very cushy pensions was a small price to pay for the billions of the help to loot and the looting of Eastern Europe and the Russian Federation during the ninety's. Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah. The United States Britain had. Control Oh in the Middle East I think we are you ready. But the United States after winning a war 2 microbiome there and got rid of the British and took it over Ok Now listen to what I'm just going to read you a couple of sentences out of the book Joseph Stalin who Churchill wrote a confidential letter to Eleanor Roosevelt F.D.R.'s widow offering and doll and doctor to conduct an independent autopsy this is after Franklin Roosevelt died in the 1st lady conviction that Churchill had had f.d.r. Poisoned she declined the offer Well that's pretty sensational but apparently. Dahlan thought that Winston Churchill poisoned f.d.r. And I getting my Facebook page and my forgetting anything I think that's everything. And we're going to begin this episode of Gunsmoke is going to sound familiar to you because it is actually a remake of a program we heard several months ago. But I decided to play it for a couple of reasons it's. The serial sponsored pursuit of the series so it's 5 in the childer script the script has been cut down and rewritten to include young Yorkie Indian the a white boy raised by the Indians that we was introduced last week and since he has a small part in this dick deals as a kid. That I imagine wasn't in the original script it's just fresh enough that I decided we would play it again it's buffalo hunter. This is the 79th episode and you know it's not a straight rerun it's a remake the same. Script writer however John Meston. And you know all the usual folks in the cast so let's give a listen now. From October 24th 1953 with the post serial and unfortunately I could might not find any copy of this program that had the sank at salute at the end. And now this is one show we could have used that because we got plenty of time to kill don't I. I guess I'll have to pitch extra hired during this program but 1st go on the smoke the buffalo hunter this is the golden age of Brady you w. R. The city of the Dead featuring Captain Friday if you like high adventure come with me if you're like the stealth of intrigue I'm with me if you like blood and thunder. Come with me. First a message from Lost Bonser. For. 8 o'clock on Sunday morning the 2nd day in the city of the dead. 8 o'clock in the morning after a night of unearthly events and sudden death and it all seems to be centered about the caretaker's cottage at the gate of the old abandoned cemetery those present include the caretaker himself better known as Matt Joshua Friday Dr Thorne a retired all his patients are laid away in the city of the dead Captain Friday's son of the mayor and a private investigator from San Francisco who has come down to the city of the dead to help his father fight grave robbers the only persons caught in the net so far. A nice looking college boy and his girlfriend Phyllis. At 2 o'clock this fall Joe winter morning Captain Friday was roused from sleep to find a phantom like white robed figure its face covered with long white flowing hair but trolling about the caretaker's cottage yes I welcome Jimmy Parker and the 2 of us slipped out of the house and around the corner just in time to see The Phantom creature leap on the figure of a man who at the moment was attempting to break into the cottage a man died instantly of the gleaming knife and the creature's clawed hand before Parker I could stop at the thing a gun he had kept on Friday and I rushed to the scene but the house breaker was dead. Captain Friday sent me back into the house for Dr tuner I wasn't gone more than a couple of minutes but when we got back not only was the murdered man gone but Captain Friday was lying on the ground unconscious and a peculiar thing all the time this was happening and there Friday has been missing from the cottage but now it's 8 o'clock the next morning and Phyllis is telling what she saw I tell you I saw it all from my window you're awake Miss Carroll this creep of that man outside my window awakened me you mean the man that was murdered Yes Who was the captain Friday I don't know it was trying to break into Parker's room when the family ghost jumped him and sprang on his back like an animal was gone quick in a flash trapped him in the back he was dead when I reached him that's what I heard I jumped out of bed and I looked out through the bars of my window you were just bending over the body Captain Friday Well I didn't know what happened it was too dark to tell who you were and all at once I saw 2 shadows creeping up on you from behind 2 yes there were 2 Suddenly I heard myself screamed I heard you that's what brought me to my feet just in time to get that crack in the side of the head that's funny Dr Turner and I didn't hear a scream did we doctor but what a doctor to undergo so he's going to walk around while I smoked his after breakfast cigar Well anyway we didn't hear from the screen Well I did I must frighten them and they didn't wait to examine Captain Friday they just grabbed the body of the murdered man and ran it to see the face of either of my attackers miscarry you know I was too frightened to notice Captain Friday did you find out where the mare was all this time last night but there was a Mike Parker word nothing only the doctor tonight thought it rather peculiar that her. They seem to be a lot of peculiar things going on around here do you think that ghoulish killer we saw last night was a man in disguise the least was human you don't really think anything could actually look like that do you owe it to me let's not keep still any longer I'd rather go to jail right now than spend another night here let's keep still if you are part of this gang of cutthroat as we're not we're not looking for a happy Friday if we tell you everything will you let us go all right I can't promise that when will you take us away from the city of the dead you went to Kate at last night that the presence of you and Miss Carol was aggravating the situation but it was due to your being in the city of the dead that all these murders are taking place now knowing we're only part of that part of the costs to see. Well you see how it is if I let you to slip through my fingers my only tangible clue to the whole business will be gone. You know you've got to stay here you can't keep a 0 will be killed you saw what happened last night that fella come through the bars of my window they'll try again and next time they'll get me I know they will need worry about that fix the windows so they'll be murder proof. And I'm going to tell them what it's all about. Tell me please Jimmy we can't be any worse off than we are no. I don't I'll tell you. I'm going with Dr Turner in the mayor over the land he thinks cabin the Swan And after that we're going down to the old church a lock you 2 up together and you can thrash the thing out but mind you I expect an explanation to night who yes but put us together I couldn't bear to be alone in this horrible place again you understand don't you Parker I'm not promising anything. So much the worse for you if you don't come through Ok Right now what's Ok Freddy I can tell you to happen to find another corpse doctor through you know. Or Die gravely open National writers don't been filled up and shot put back hurt don't look at don't ever been touched held up as an idea graves automatically opened and closed while you wait there I tell you Captain this is no laughing matter or something bigger no Marron I ever figured only broken loose where is the mayor in your catching up on the sleepy lost last night where was the marriage night don't you know where I don't. It was mostly sleeping with if you don't know how should I care I didn't even know he'd left a bed until Parker came in well. I swear I didn't you don't think old doctor in your own dad would hold out on you do you boy something's funny somewhere. Now I want you to go but allow me thinks place with me right good dad will do after that we'll run down of the old church ruins and see if we can find out who took a shot at that night before last Yeah Dodo I know. Being well you don't suppose we'd have brought you down here in the 1st place you had anything to hold back on not supposing anything I'm putting facts together doc go right out the mayor. How far is Lammy thinks house in the city that that matter has to happen but anyhow sure just to show Ok you can see Janet when you treat going to be sheriff and odd times. Loony place where. Looks more like $100.00 animals hold back a 100 and go anywhere yeah you're going off all right brother sleep in the city of the dead and down in this house will bury these graveyard shy after dark. This isn't. Lamb he thinks residence. One door no when the Andes have a shower but I didn't know about dad never even thought of a shower when I was over there that day and that's the 1st place where look go ahead bad you know the way that he's no me delete your path he drown the House the Senate steps going. Here's the steps. Saying to get down under the house. I'll lead off with my flashlight when I get to the bottom of the cellar steps one of you following on the other and take it easy those steps don't look any too solid. Stark and murky down the. Road I Go Why charge you don't break your leg hold much more you. Might have. What I write from the start up the big shiny China you heard sparrow right on down your captain you your spirit I have has a chorus I've lost my flashlight and it's black on an old man's future down here right a match to give a man a chance one of them together doc still got 2 or 3 steps around my neck again we have some science Scrabble myself. Hey what's that hey Dr Mayer I'm holed up down here with a buddy who is it Captain Oh I know we just met here in the dark why don't you that imagine find out we can't get down the channel without a rope now to disturb your buddies did not Jack to find it just reached out and laid hold of me Jimminy crickets over. There oh my feet again now for a like. Well hey there are 2 o 3 Dr there are 3 bodies down here in the cellar watching what he should hear me there are 3 bodies down here. They're not lateral hold any of us. Now Dr Turner I want you and Dad to come on down into the cellar with me and examine those bodies one of them Islami think all right enough is the struggle from what we dug up and the other is the man who was stabbed to death last night if you know how much about immigration we get out a look at him I want to see if you know we are really on identified bodies and I'd bet money I don't but come along Xan What makes you think you don't know you're trying to get something on your father boy everyone coming. Careful on the lottery. There you are. All over this way look up those boxes. To hold the torch. And they are 3 bodies laid out side by side. And shiny. How do you suppose he died sound I can't find a mark on him anywhere then. Look at that look of terror on his face you need her scared to go look for yourself. I was Lammy been dead Dr. Least 36 hours is certainly that. Fairly accurate then let me think couldn't possibly have filled up the grave we opened last night he could and who did do it. Dad you said that you one let me were the only ones capable of doing an expert job of replacing turf on a grave Yeah I said it alright. Well Dad must have been wrong you mean someone else around the city of the dead who is capable of such work looks like you don't need. Their money. Mayor did you or Dr Turner ever see either of these other 2 bodies before I mean while they were alive. I know nothing about a. Star and funny. I mean through their clothes nothing to identify them no. Less. Which there. Is someone in the shack arrange just a moment. Gooseneck you suppose. There's somebody up there all right. I want to go up after. Take it easy don't want to frighten them off. Your neck stand Yeah. I'm going to get everything's clear you know. They are there up a ladder up and then no one is likely to bother the bodies while we're away Captain Ishmael spoke and hit smoke I knew I smelled something luck but the cabin is on fire but we got to stop at some other old house put up on the play. Clock they are holding my hold on a place Ridge embodies that that was you've been saturated with oil look at that back row but where's that feller we heard walkin around here probably a mile away by that cockeyed lunkhead of fools now we've lost those bodies but could we still get him out at someone with a furnace 30 seconds after that fire was that. Echoes that can occur a thing I saw in the cellar that I have sat right Brian very nation did anyone want to burn down let me shag ask me a hard one dark somebody doesn't want to know who's been murdered. Talk especially after they've been cremated but there is still the contents of any more grave and old clawfoot down the abandoned church but more of that in a moment. We've been daubing capital Friday it's almost 1 o'clock are ready and we promised the mayor we'd meet him at the cottage and do well as the old church just ahead Lumiere you know Dr This place has always given me the creeps in when I was a kid 3 man of a brought me or unless it was to arrange for a funeral that's about all it was ever used for is fired back to Jack remember funerals will now and again in a country where is the 1st time I've been near the place since it was abandoned the thing I remember the day they found the old bell rang by the next study room I always did think the place was infested with. Well it's something ghoulish it's a nice thought visit night before last only went to confirm my opinion I mean the clawfoot of mantle he was only the climax of the whole business right there the place absolutely reeks of something unhealthy it's probably the best plan he ever here through our show we go in through the slot of that roof I'd say the whole place would be tumbling in and I hear. Terrible where went through the floor the night looming on the inside of a grave in here yeah don't you feel it still want the moment I stepped in here out of the sunshine and I thought some come over me like a slimy wet cloak don't you get a cattle and give yourself the creeps if you keep that up all I get is an unpleasant smell of mustiness in the cave the place is rotten to the foundation and something more than a physical rock was here calf with ice around something else yeah but I tell you I do know how should we go back and have a look at the old study that's where the mayor was shot wasn't sure and that's where we ran into Prof wanted man or beast or whatever is that you leave the door shut when you carried the mayor out the other night and I didn't program it to scared I just picked up the mirror and dashed through the door was still open when I shot now I'm going to get here that's right. Do you suppose that. I got my gun handy to pot him if he. He is going to not stand in front of the door here a little bit happen to me and I will stand at the side of the door I'm going to block the way there would be a fool who surely are able to get hurt not while I've got this little plaything in my hand oranges you know ready to go and get it over in fact. I. Have kept it very very well Sam hell kind of a thing is that I'm a bald headed lot of that Jack In The Box didn't take me in the face I heard Captain are you all right you. Are So I'm all right I should not be all right. For all of all that call for it all boy with his white beard knocked me down and walked the full length of me look up it's just the footprints all over my front. And I say I was going to block his path I got one good look at him a critter slow and white hair a face that looked like a death man I've seen him before he's the chap that murdered the housebreaker last night I don't know who he thinks he is in those long white world crazy you go into a we need some kind of a light in this study and I still got my flashlight return or are there as a good. Jump in G.'s kept look there on the floor behind you stand with. You. All laid out in order lay it out is right. It looks like old clawfoot was in here reconstructing the skeleton Where do you think they came from the bomb. Probably out of one of the graves in the city of the dead. Nice personal. I don't care for the company he keeps crazy and I thought for Madge and you guys shut and show up in a dark room to play with if you were scared and looks like we're going to have to do some close inspection on the mayor's graves out yonder. This seems to indicate that grave robbing is sort of become a practice down here those who simply are unhealthy was going on in this place. Plouffe was never lacked for company whenever he got a lonesome or down hearted he just up and digs themself the skeleton there will be was a thing here Capitol where do you suppose you show lives. You've been making this is headquarters there's no sign of a place to sleep here and there's no food and something I have to look into. Now Doc Where is this bell rope the mayor was pulling on the night he was shot all right damn right. Well go are gone where I was when I didn't write down there where you're standing and. Look at the ceiling no hole in the ceiling for it to come through where there was a rope Rutshuru he just pulled it was shot and you're certain the door was shut it time I certainly wide Anyway the shot came from across the. Room No wonder. You're certain there was no one else in the room with you to burn course there was wood for the shot come from the same place the bow no trying to. Target does he do that for going around making noises like a sick cat so we'd seen the last of him today to try to grab it will you don't you think we'd better finish looking over these ruins or more is there to see when you haven't been up and about her he had climbed that rotten ladder not me ducking or Maronite I did it in the dark too well it was your own field room. You can see with half an eye that you 2 are the only ones who've been up there in the last 10 years where the dust and dirt. Come on we spend an hour and that's enough I want my hands and I felt months 1 o'clock we told him I would be back by to read anything better in this race come on out in the sunshine and get it out of his system. Oh where is our sun shine if getting that 1st afternoon we've had 2 seasons. And puts an end to hunting old clawfoot he and Mr Bush stuff fog gets in your nostrils which your clothes hides murder if you want out of it you'll feel better when you had your lunch thoughts go back to the cottage you don't know any of that skeleton in there why yes you don't want to pack it around with it still in. The well off there as anywhere and so we can find the grave that was taken from wraps that's old Ernie Morton the skeleton will begin his grave this afternoon. Oh they're very hard Harry our house thank goodness you've come at last kept coming a house quick coming here what is it then Mary or as right as you go then if I had a gun handy at a shop that had a very stupid shot what you talking about come on and hurry up you too Doc you have to tend to the girl girl you mean to scare over here shut the door Doc Parker feller stabbed the girl you kill her too if I had to run it just when I did stab some of Carol he did wait a minute then did you see him stab or I just as I come in the house I heard a scream I rushed in and I locked the door and there she was lying on her face on the floor Parker was standing over with this bloody knife in his hand there where is the girl in a room wanting to see what you can do for a doctor she's unconscious or had I somehow she has a son as you can. Parker he's not can this cause that the bars on the window to his rooms Cup and I wasn't taking any chance of losing him a lot I'm out so he has to say are concerned he didn't do it. Yet you know. Bryce huge He had the edge of smother them in that closet get me some water Hi Doc come in there get a move on. You know what's happened to Parker smothered in that little closet. His heart still go away for. He's going to be aren't just different merits are a little longer and strange. They are bored with it which one are you going to be fed Jeffery grows not really dangerous either fresh will little blood and show. I mean you're you know you're you're you're back you're here if you made it through. Where am I here I'm now Parker Erica said I'm going to him I don't get I'm not sure . What you want to do smother me and you had it coming or do you mean stabbing a girl why didn't I tell you that before Hi sorry if you saw me stab bullets I saw you with a bloody knife in your hands been over you to finish her off I had rushed into the room for not talking to you on a good Parker. What's your version of this affair Well Phyllis and I have been talking for about an hour talking about what whether we should tell you all of all we know they did decide to talk or no. And she turned her back on me and call me big headed she was insistent on talking you refuse Yes you know that what she could tell might get you in serious trouble as I write. I suppose so you decided to stab her to death to prevent are talking no no it isn't so so are there what did happen you won't believe me here bet I won't go that way did that where I want Parker Well when she turned her back on me and walked away went over to the dresser and put out my cigarette in the ashtray your back was to her yes suddenly she screamed right turn just in time to see her fall of a knife in our back a likely story told you you wouldn't believe me you're on I haven't said I didn't believe you Parker fen have a. I was so confused I don't hardly know what I did. And guess I dashed over to fill us and bend over I don't remember pulling and I thought of her back but really supposed I did because I know I had it in my hand wondering where it came from one near Friday rushed in and grabbed it away from me one of word came from well I didn't have any night how could I have done it night might have been in the room few recognize it then no partner could have been with him he had every opportunity when I didn't I was the girl standing facing the door who would put her back to the window yes. If you were at the bureau you couldn't have seen the window I don't know. What the shade and window raised the shade was I don't know about the window I dark there's a window up in there. That's a possible out for you Parker a good knife thrower could have son of a knife through the bars of the window without any trouble you think that's what happened I'm not thinking anything really say it's a possibility Well I didn't do it and got hurt the girl I'm engaged to it will do strange things to save their own skins. So you're in Gage to Miss Carol you know practically none of that me through me and I got an understanding for us to marry for you know how does I other words you said that about the engagement because she thought it would be a point in your favor for Parker You've got to stick to facts and you're going to get yourself on one fine mess land tend to ask I don't know whether you do we're not. Hearing you guys coming through I mean you know come on Parker. You know where I've got a job and oh oh thank you ashamed your partner let me along both of you. Right. Fellas right all right. Yes Phyllis. What do you mean why did you Stephanie what did you do it. In the midst of the desperate happenings in the city of the dead as Jimmy Parker turned on his own companion Phyllis Caro And what about the phantom coopted killer and the desecrated Graves who is disturbing the dead and what do you expect to find save moldering bones Listen next week to the 5th episode of colony mosses city of the dead and titled The Skeleton want. To be continued. Enters by Morse girl can either Morse. Good stuff Well we turn next to William Johnstone who was born would say.
