Lets check were following breaking news from washington state. Two people, a man and a woman, are dead and three other women are hurt following a shooting at a homeless night. The police chief says she believes the shooting is not random, and the suspects targeted specific people inside the camp. So far there investigators have not officers are searching for two people of interest. Happening today the fight over which bathroom to use at a local high school is heading back to federal court. Gloucester County High School junior gavin grimm is asking the Us Fourth Circuit Court of appeals to reverse a ruling banning him from using the boys bathroom. Weve been following grimms battle with the Gloucester County school board since november 2014. Grimm is transgender he was born a female, but identifies as a male. Rico katie, don, oral arguments are scheduled to begin in richmond in just a few hours grimms case is the first lawsuit in which a federal Appeals Court will weigh in on the bathroom issue for people who identify as transgender. And, advocates say a ruling in favor of grimm will be significant for transgender rights. In december 2014, Gloucester County school board banned grimm from boys bathroom, saying he had to use unisex facilities or the womans bathroom. Officials say restroom use was based on biology, not gender. Lawyers for the teen took the case to federal court and sought a preliminary injunction, which would allowed him to use the boys bathroom. Last year, a a norfolk federal judge denied that request and sided with the school board. Grimm and the aclu appealed the ruling to the Fourth Circuit in richmond, hoping to get the decision reversed. The federal government has backed the teen, saying the School Boards policy is discriminatory. Several states have filed friendofthe court briefs backing the Gloucester County school board. Students and parents at Smithfield High School paid him for their trip to europe, only to have acheampong cancel two days before they were going to leave. Parents told us he promised them a refund. They say, they havent gotten any money back. This morning we know what caused a fire that sent three people to the hospital. The York County Fire Department said children played too close a space heater and a piece of paper caught fire.
