Turning now to the big story overseas, six people have now been detained overnight in raids in brussels linked to this weeks attacks on the citys airport and metro police stormed two central brussels neighborhoods and took six people into custody. Neighbors did say they heard explosions in the area. Prosecutors meantime say they will decide later today on possible charges. Also, a suspected terrorist who was arrested in france may have been in the advanced stages of planning a new attack. The French National was arrested during a raid in a suburb of paris yesterday. Officials say he was part of a Terror Network planning a high level attack in france. we are learning new details about the victims of tuesdays attacks in brussels, including siblings with ties here in new york. Of the 300 injured, at least a dozen are from the united states, the netherlands foreign minister says three dutch citizens were killed at the bombing at the airport this morning. Among them, the dutch media is are a brother and sister living in new york city. Graphic new video shows the bloody chaos after the bombs exploded in the Brussels Airport. Confusion reigns in the hospitals and burn centers where the victims are now being treated. A family that had been desperately holding out hope for two siblings from new york now fearing the worst. Sasha and alex were at the Brussels Airport to catch a flight home. Family members say theyve been given a list of people who survived and are in the hospital, but sasha and alex werent on it. Other young people from our area are sharing their moments of terror. It was huge. It was like a fire explosion. It shook the floor, the ceiling started falling. Reporter three students from Quinnipiac University were in the terminal when the bombs exploded. In spite of that scare, the University Says the overseas programs will continue as planned. They want to go on, they if if students stop traveling, that means the terrorists won. We dont want that to happen. Reporter again, the dutch government says three dutch citizens were killed in the attacks and the dutch media reports this morning that the brother and sister liveening new york are among the dead. New york city is donating a new recruit to help counterterrorism efforts. The foundation, k9s for cops gave a fullytrained police dog to the French National police. It was presented to swat leaders at the french consulate, hoping it makes up for the loss of a k9 named diesel who was blown up in a raid five days after the paris attacks last november. Its 4 35. Morning in a triple shooting that left a mother and her adult son dead on Staten Island. Three victims were confronted by a man who many have been upset or might have been upset over a car. Within the last hour, the nypd just released the name of the mother and son who were killed here last night. Its 21yearold Anthony Rivera and his mother, 47yearold adele rivera. And theyre still looking for the shooter this morning. All of this happened just after 6 00 last night on roxbury street here in Mariners Harbor in Staten Island. Police say Anthony Rivera and his friend were outside working on his friends car. At some point, they were approached by the suspect who fired off at least 15 shots. Now, Anthony Rivera was shot three times in the head and his mother heard the gunshots. She ran outside, she was also the friend, he was shot three times in the leg. He is now recovering at Richmond UniversityMedical Center and, again, police are working on a theory that this may have been a dispute over a car sale or car repair. Im telling him, just please breathe, im calling, you know, 911, screaming at other people to call 911. Other people are like why are you calling im like hes over here on the floor. They didnt know she was shot. Im telling 911, please send an ambulance, you have two bodies. Then i realized there was a third body across the street, it was probably another friend or Family Member that also got shot. Reporter now, the nypd says they did recover a weapon here last night, as well as shell casings, but the suspect fled in a darkcolored hyundai or honda. If you have information, call crimestoppers. And a yonkers livery cabdriver what he attacked and stabbed in the neck by a man who drove off with his car. Police found that car abandoned, but theres no sign of the attacker. Right now, the driver, christian aparo, is being kept alive by machines. What he attacked on he was attacked on North Broadway and when an artery walked across the street to the hospital. He is pulling through. We want to say hes pulling through. Hes still in intensive care, very intensive. We will continue going on to the hospital and mopefully pray for the best. Hes married and the father of six children. A woman in the bronx is planning to sue the nypd after an officer shot and killed her dog. The deadly encounter was caught on camera in the belmont section. The dogs owner cracked open her door after Hearing Police when the pit bull walked toward an officer wagging its tail, an officer shot it in the head. The owner, yvonne rosato, is suing the department and the city. Nypd says it is investigating the incident. 4 38. Youre never more than 7 minutes away from weather and traffic. Heres jeff smith. M. , at least the leading edge of that rain, much of new jersey covered with and its on and off showers,we expect maybe 5 1 00th to maybe a 10th of an inch of rain by the afternoon. The nypd is looking for two men who posed as police before then sexually assaulting and robbing a woman in chelsea. Police say two men in this red camaro signaled to a 67year old woman to stop her car on west 16th street. This was back on february 29th. The suspects then identified themselves as Police Officers and thats when they sexually assaulted the woman and stole her purse before then just driving away. A baptist pastor in louisiana is preparing a special easter show and it includes being entombed. Reporter good morning, lori. Secretary of state kerry just arrived here in brussels to pay his respects, this as belgium warns that the next attack is serious, probable and possible. Belgian police carried out raids in central brussels early friday, where earlier this week, they found explosives and bombmaking material in the apartment used by the attackers. Overnight, six people arrested across the city. A mall also evacuated. Investigators are trying to figure out if there were other potential targets. They claim two brothers secretly recorded a top Belgian Nuclear scientist using a hidden camera. The two killed in the attacks were also on a u. S. Terror watch list. Hunt for a man shown in Surveillance Video just before the attack. And searching for this suspect, shown with the bombers at the airport. She ran outside here only to find that her son had been shot and killed and then she was shot and killed. The nypd is working on a theory that this may have started over a dispute on a car. This was just after 6 00 last night at Mariners Harbor houses here in Staten Island. Police say 21yearold Anthony Rivera was outside with a friend working on a car when they say the gunman fired off 15 shots, first striking 21 yearold Anthony Rivera three times in the head. His 22yearold friend was shot three times in the leg. Thats when his 47yearold mother ran outside and she was shot in the head. Police say the suspect dropped the gun and drove off in a dark colored sedan, either a honda or a hyundai. There was a woman facedown in the parking lot, but nobody noticed the guy in the street. When i walked over to him, i realizeedit was a child well, a grown man that used to play football with my kids. Im like, oh, my god, are you okay . I thought something fell on his face, then i realized he was shot. Now, the 22yearold friend who was shot three times in the leg, he is in stable but Critical Condition at Richmond UniversityMedical Center. Hes wanted for assaulting two women just minutes apart early last saturday morning in ridgewood, queens. One was shoved to the ground after the sex assault. The other had her purse stolen. Also new this morning, video of a gunman running on a sidewalk in the bronx before opening fire. The suspect shot an 18yearold man twice in the back before running off. That shooting happened yesterday at about 5 00 p. M. On lafayette avenue and hunts point section. The victim is in stable condition at lincoln hospital. Police want your help solving threeyearold mystery involving a woman whose body was pulled from a river. Investigators created renditions of the woman based from her skull. She was pulled from the Passaic River in april of 2013, almost three years ago. Clothing and had on distinctive ethiopian jewelry. That fire, six months ago, gutted the family warehouse for artusos pastry business. Also ahead,a new twist in welcome back, everybody. A false rumor about a muslim 8th grader had Police Searching the boy for a gun. It started two weeks ago at the dolan middle school. The 8th grader stood up for another Muslim Student being bullied and that led to the rumor the boy was carrying a gun. Both of the Muslim Students were questioned by police over a twoday period. Ive spokon my son at length about the situation and done my best to not upset him or have him have anger towards everyone else. But he certainly deserves an apology. The school hasnt responded to phone calls from Eyewitness News, but the principal did issue a statement saying the students involved in the rumor would be disciplined. New details on the indictment of an emergency room doctor at mt. Sinai hospital. Anything wrong, but prosecutors indicted him with sexually assaulting two more women under his care. That raises the number of alleged victims to four. He no longer works at mt. Sinai and his medical license was suspended last month. New this morning, Domestic Violence charges have been dropped against an olympic Gold Medalist skier. Picabo street was arrested back in december after police say she pushed her 76yearold father down two flights of stairs and then locked him in a basement. A utah judge is expected to grant a motion to dismiss the charges in just a few days. Street had claimed self defense. It is 5 14. A mother and her on Staten Island. A mother and her 21yearold son were killed. The mans friend was also wounded by the gunfire. Eyewitness News Reporter darla miles is in Mariners Harbor with an update on what sparked the violence. Darla . Reporter good morning, lori. Police just released the names this morning of the mother and son who were killed last night. They have been identified at 47 yearold adele rivera and her 21yearold son, Anthony Rivera. Police are looking for the man who shot them both in the head and killed them both. This happened just after 6 00 6 00 last night on roxbury street in the Mariners Harbor section of Staten Island. Outside working on a car with his 22yearold friend and at some point they were approached by a gunman. The gunman fired off at least 15shot, first shooting Anthony Rivera three times in the head. His 22yearold friend, three times in the leg. They say then adele rivera heard the gunshots. The 47yearold mother ran outside to be shot in the head herself. Now, the 22yearold friend is recovering at Richmond UniversityMedical Center, but police say they may have all started over a dispute over either a car repair or a car sale. Im telling him just please breathe, calling, you know, 911, screaming at other people to call 911. Other people are like why are you calling 911 . Im like hes over here on the floor. They didnt know he was shot. I told police they had two bodies, then i realized there was a third person across the street, a friend or a Family Member, also shot. Reporter police say the gunman dropped the gun, they recovered that weapon and shell he drove off in a darkcolored sedan, either a honda or a hyundai. New developments now in the terror attacks in brussels. Police stormed two central brussels neighborhoods overnight and took six people into custody. Prosecutors say they will decide later today on possible charges. Also, a suspected terrorist who was arrested in france may have been in the advanced stages of planning a new attack. Reporter yes, the Netherlands Foreign Ministry confirms that three dutch two of them believed to be alex and sasha pinzowski. They were at the Brussels Airport on tuesday, on the phone with Family Members, when the bombs went off. Theyll been missing since. Confusion reigns in the hospitals and burn centers where victims being treated. A family that had been desperately clinging to hope for two siblings from new york now learning this morning they are not on a list of survivors and asking for privacy in their time of grieving. Sasha and alex were at the Brussels Airport tuesday to catch a flight home when the bombs went off. Family members say its taken them days to learn the truth. Other young people from our area are now sharing their moments of terror. It was huge. It was like a fire explosion. We could it shook the floor. The ceiling started falling. Reporter three students from Quinnipiac University were in spite of that scare, the University Says overseas programs will continue as planned. Were finding that, you know, they want to go on. And new york detectives are trying to identify a flashy red car because the people inside are pretending to be police before they actually sexually assaulted and robbed a woman in chelsea. Police say two men in this camaro signaled to a 67year old woman to stop her vehicle on west 16th street on february 29th. The suspects identified themselves as Police Officers. They then sexually assaulted the woman and stole her purse before taking off. He cried wolf too many times and now its going to a man accused of of false alarm calls to a building in queens is now under arrest. Investigators say 47yearold Kenneth Campbell made 36 false alarm calls from apartments in the building on west 135th street with neighbors he had problems with. The calls range from gas leaks, electrical fires, bomb scares, also medical assistance. Multiple agencies responded to some of those 5 37 now. And happening today, just days after president obamas historic visit and the people of cuba are getting a free concert today from the Rolling Stones in havana. The open air concert is expected to draw hundreds of thousands of fans. The stones are the first Major International band to play the island since the cuban revolution. There are no reports, though, of any serious injuries. A thief was caught rummaging through a car and unfortunately for him, the person who caught him was a practices mixed martial arts. You know where the story is going. Henry rodriguez was pulled was pulling into a parking lot by his home in fair lawn wednesday night and noticed a stranger removing items from his neighbors vehicle. Rodriguez confronted the thief, who tried, tried to push him off. So, rodriguez put his martial arts moves to work. He started running, so i went i went to grab him and then everything fall out of his hands and then i grab him and hold him and i put him to sleep. Wow like it was nothing. When police arrived, the suspect, 41yearold kevin out. When he came to, they arrested him. Hes now charged with robbery and burglary and having awful timing. Yeah. Really bad timing.
