Its very early in the investigation with the two men shot just about 3 hours ago. I want to give you a closer look at what is happening here. Detectives going in and out this morning, cars going back and forth, and you can see a large crime scene where not only the home is blocked off with yellow tape, but across the street and several doors down, and Police Believe at this point it was a Home Invasion. Of suspects went inside the home at casino street and freeport and shot two people inside. We have seen detectives speaking to two people who may have been witnesses or family members of the victims, and they may have been inside of the home at the time, and we have seen detectives in the backyard with their flashlights. At this point they are trying to determine if the Home Invasion was targeted or not. At this point the two victims were taken to south Nassau Community hospital, and their injuries are said to be nonlife threatening. Darla miles, channel 7 Eyewitness News. Reporter ken, we have now learned that one man was so the shot during this Early Morning incident. Police are now calling it a robbery attempt. You can still see the Police Inside of the home, and around 1 00 this morning, an unknown number of suspects came into the house on casino street. During the robbery attempt, one man was shot and another was hurt. Its not clear if the suspects made off with any goods or cash it appears as if family members are inside of the home at this point, and the two victims were taken to south nassau communities hospital, and their threatening, and heres a live look at the home. Family members are inside the home, and we are working on details what happened, but two people in the hospital this morning, one shot, and another sustained a different kind of injury in what police are now calling a robbery.
