This happened about three hours police say the driver of a van was going west in the eastbound lanes when he crashed into the police cruiser. Also breaking in new jersey, one Police Officer is injured and a suspected car thief is shot in the head. This happened overnight on ocean avenue in jersey city. The suspect was rushed to nearby Jersey City Medical Center and we are told his injury is not life threatening. We should mention off the top, the officer involved with the shooting was not seriously injured. The vehicle shot ended up this intersection which is virginia and ocean avenue. It was before 1 00 this morning when two jersey city Police Officers stopped the car that was stolen. This happened during a fight when one man accused the other of stealing his property at the boulevard homeless shelter. Police arrived to find the victim, a 62yearold man with a stab wound to the neck. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The suspect took off. Police know who they are looking for. Investigators are trying to determine the cause of a suspicious and deadly fire that started around 10 00 last night in a two story vacant building on west kingsbridge road in bedford park. Once it was out, crews discovered someone, described as a squatter on the second floor. They were pronounced dead at the scene. They are expected to be okay. Health officials in one local the blizzard left ticket new this morning, 30 pounds here is a look at what police recovered during yesterdays bust. Officers say they saw two drivers exchange two suitcases in bay ridge. They pulled them over in their cars and found 20 pounds of pot. The men then admitted there was more in a manhattan apartment. Both are facing drug charges. In queens, 11 million worth of heroin is off the streets this morning. Several suspects are under arrest. Federal agents were in elmhurst on an unrelated assignment when they spotted the pick up trucks with North Carolina plates circling several blocks. Agents stopped the trucks and a search dog picked up the scent of drugs. The trucks were taken to dea headquarters and agents found 100 pounds of heroin pressed in small packages and hidden in a axle and drive shaft. Reporter good morning, guys. The vehicle involved in the shooting stopped at virginia and ocean avenue. Take a closer look at the car. This began before 1 00 this morning when two jersey Police Officer stopped the car because it was reported stolen. As the officer stopped the car, the driver sped away dragging the officer. The officer pull out his gun and shot the driver in his head. He was rushed to the hospital with a nonlifethreatening injury. The officer was taken to the hospital. His injuries are not serious. We wound up with snow on the roadway now an icing condition. Low temperatures caused a lot of accidents. A lot of spinouts. Heading out the door, allow extra time and keep the speeds down.
