Reporter the guests of the Radisson Blu Hotel ushered to safety at a nearby Sports Center after a deadly standoff with terrorists. This eyewitness said they were shouting allah akbar. They stormed the hotel at 7 00 a. M. They shot at guards and took 170 people hostage. Al qaeda affiliated group has claimed responsibility. Im not in a position to confirm the veracity of the claim. I think its too soon to tell. Reporter the hotel was hosting a u. N. Delegation. At least five u. S. Department personnel. The state department had this update including chief of mission arrested. Two nypd officers did detain him and take him into custody. A witness says at one point, it looked as if he was trying to kill himself. This was clearly according to witnesses an emotionally disturbed person. He was arrested without resisting, without incident. When we arrived, he war already in custody. Were told he was taken to the hospital. There are no injuries from what we could tell. That suspect was in his 20s or 30s.
