Our top stories this afternoon, a 16yearold girl fatally shot inside an apartment in the bronx. Police in the claremont section looking for a person of interest. This is his picture, several people were in the apartment night. Police are trying to find a sexual predator behind three attacks in manhattan. Complaining and talking about the Elizabeth Town gas company and their response here to this entire matter, of course theyre still trying to dig into the home which blew up at the scene. They hope to cheer out the middle home by the end of the day and they still need to take down the two homes next to the site. Much of the focus of this investigation is about a first floor of the building. The mayor wants to know how that gas line was tapped or rather capped and was it properly capped. Another big issue has been raised about the gas company and it appears that Elizabethtown Gas Company came to the building on monday for a turn on order. But when they got here, that gas line was already up and running. Now several residents had complained about the odor of gas a day or two before the explosion. But there is no record, no record at this point, that anyone called the gas company to complain or report a possible leak. Also the mayor confirmed that the confirmed that the building that blew had an apartment on the blew up had an apartment on the lower floor actually behind the garage and that apartment was an illegal conversion. It could have been an illegal connection as we all know gas rises. And in order for this roof to blow off the way it did, there was a very large concentration of gas in the roof area and the and it happened an explosion like this can happen with very little gas or lot of gas. However, the concentration in the roof area was probably substantial at the time of the explosion.
