The mother is telling investigators that the baby was stillborn and that she made a mistake by throwing the body out of the window. Reporter she saw when the mother of the baby was lead out of the building shortly after the disturbing discovery. It was yesterday afternoon when Police Responded to west 183rd street. This is the courtyard where the body of a newborn girl with the umbilical cord still attached was thrown from a window. 24 hours later there is a sense of shock. It is tragic. I dont know what the thought process was behind that. There is plenty of hospitals, plenty of people out here that want kids. Anywhere you could have brung him. You didnt have to drop him out of the window. That is killing. That is a sin. Reporter Video Surveillance cameras captured part of the fatal fall. Police found the mother in a 7th floor apartment. The woman is being treated at saint barnabas. The father was taken to the 47th precinct and detectives, released as investigators dont believe he was aware of what happened. Residents who saw yesterdays events unfold say the answers clearly lie with the mother. I dont know if she knows what she did. The look on her face was like the devil was in her. Star quarterback evan murray took two hard body blows in a Football Game this weekend but walked off, even gave a thumbs up but an autopsy report shows he died of an abdominal hemorrhage caused by a lacerated spleen under the rib abdomen. The spleen helps filter blood rib cage. If it is enlarged, usually by an infection, it can drop below the bone making it more vulnerable to impact. The internal organs, lungs, heart, spleen, abdominal contents, everything is potentially exposed when you are participating in a sport. A severe blow can start internal bleeding.
