After a sevenmonth long investigation by the state attorney general, Mount Vernon Police have been clear of criminal wrongdoing in the death of ray net turner, the woman who died in Police Custody last summer. Its another crushing blow for her husband. Reporter the husband of turner having to deal with yet another devastating loss. First his loss died last summer at A Mount Vernon jail cell. Now the state attorney general clearing cops of criminality in her death, not the result of the investigation Herman Turner was hoping for. Its hurtful. Its very hard when you know someone for so long and theyre sometimes i still hear her calling me. And shes not there. Im hurt by it. Werent the answers we were looking for. But thats the investigation. Reporter the mother of eight was in Police Custody for two days after a shoplifting arrest. When the train was in motion going southbound witnesses say he threatened them, told them he was going to shoot them, lifting up his shirt. Passengers as you can imagine were terrified. We spoke to one over the phone who only wanted to be identified as andy. I just knew i had to call 911 as quick as possible so we could get the situation under control before it got worse. Once the train stopped the nypd was there and may was arrested. It turns out he did not have a gun. Police did find a 12inch knife and some sort of baton. Heres andy one more time.
