0 they removed any reference to extremism and began to help shape the narrative about this video, which the administration knew, the intelligence collection community knew immediately that this wasn't about a video. this was radical extremism that took down this facility in benghazi, and they knew it immediately. and state department and white house put out a document that didn't reflect the reality on the ground as they knew it at the time. >> so what's the supposition from your vantage point on why they would do that? >> look, we can go to motive, we can speak late about motive, but we know this much. we know that the political actors in the process removed the information that the intelligence collection people on the ground knew. we heard the testimony this week from the person who was then in charge after the death of ambassador stevens, mr. hicks. we heard his testimony. his jaw dropped when he saw what susan rice was talking about on she was a single mother when she was scratched from the streets in 2002. she was the first woman kidnapped. there are some reports she had a child who was taken away from her by welfare officials apparently because she couldn't care for the child. now, we don't know where she is. she has family who are trying to see her. she apparently doesn't want to see them. it seems like a very, very unfortunate situation. here on the streets where the crime scene is, over here there's a local city counselor who has been holding a press conference to try to tell us what's going on. if you come back the other way, you can see at the house, the castro house down there, the whit whis house that's not boarded up there are workers trying to secure the property, one for evidentiary reasons, but, two, there apparently have been some threats and some anger expressed by residents here who want to destroy the house, burn it down, get rid of it as soon as possible to try and help this neighborhood and this community begin to heal. they boarded up the building and they're going to erect a ten-foot fence around the property to try to keep it sealed off. at some point the street will also reopen. we don't know when yet. as this place tries to get back to normal. but the main idea today is to try and secure this property to keep vandals, others away from it because, again, there's a lot of anger being directed at that. the counselor was telling us he's heard some fairly credible threats from people who want to get rid of this immediately to just remove this and to help this community start moving forward more quickly. >> you can imagine walking by it or having it in your line of sight at any point. it's unthinkable what happened there. but may i ask you quickly about michelle knight in regard to her name having been removed from the cleveland police's database back in 2002. she obviously was still missing. what can you tell us about that? >> reporter: well, the thing is that she wasn't obviously still missing because she was 20 years old at the time or so. she was an adult, and as i understand it the authorities could not contact a member of her family to verify that she was still missing, and that's why they took her name off the list. again, her case is somewhat -- each case is unique, but her case perhaps stands out because, again, she was an older woman. she was on her own before this, and she was assumed to be a runaway at that point, not a missing person. >> i see. thanks for clearing that up. ron allen, many thanks. a task force in newtown, connecticut, has reached a decision on the fate of sandy hook elementary school. last night the panel voted unanimously to tear down that school and build a new one on the same site. the school was, of course, the scene of that december 14th shooting that killed 20 children and 6 adults. the vote followed weeks of deliberation and emotional testimony from new tourn residents and task force members alike. >> the possibility of a transformation of spirit in this town, i feel it very strongly. >> i see that a better answer for some people and a better answer for other people but there's not a better answer for everybody. >> i want to renovate the existing facility. i realize with the age of the building it might not have been as practical. this is the next best thing. it's a place of laughter, learning and love and i want it to go back to that. >> cost of the new building is expected to run $47 million according to estimates given out on friday night. let's go to the weather because residents of arizona are facing some very dry weather. let's take a look at a dust storm. that sent debris like you can't believe, all that dirt, into the air there causing visibility issues and it actually forced some drivers to pull over. >> i was on the phone. i looked to the west, and i saw this black rising -- >> yikes. all right. her car is going to get hit with stuff. dylan dreyer has the forecast on all this. >> good afternoon to you. that dust storm popped up out of nowhere out in arizona. it didn't last that long but it certainly was enough to just make the roads very difficult to navigate, especially with the tumbleweeds and the boxes floating by. today things should improve a little less wind, and we are looking for a decent warm-up across most of the country. right now it's already 66 in new york city. it's 70 down in dallas. also watching that in washington, d.c. it does come with some wet weather though and it's mostly isolated to the eastern seaboard and also down through the gulf coast states. the heaviest of the rain right now is moving through the northeast just off the shore of new jersey, and we are going to see another round of heavier rain begin to redevelop later on this afternoon. so it's mostly just some showers right now with a batch of heavy rain across central pennsylvania. we also have heavy rain right over the gulf of mexico, so pensacola, florida, is seeing moderate showers but the bulk of the showers are over the water. our biggest threat would be through virginia, southern new jersey, and also into northeastern north carolina where we could seen see some downbursts today, so wind damage is possible with the storms later on this afternoon. so today it looks nice and mild up and down the east coast but as we go into mother's day, everything drys out. it looks like a nice sunny mother's day but it will be chilly in the great lakes, only in the 50s, and we'll drop back down to the 60s in parts of the northeast. >> okay, dylan, thank you for that. the first of its kind space walk is under way right now, and a bit later the likelihood of jodi arias getting the death penalty. meet the 5-passenger ford c-mc-max one. c-max two. that's a super fuel- efficient hybrid for me. and a long range plug-in hybrid for you. now, let's review. introducing the ford c-max hybrid and the ford c-max energi plug-in hybrid. say hi to the c-max hybrids.
