Police say the kids fell between 35 and 40 feet last night after one of the baskets on the ride overturned. Two of them had to be flown by helicopter to the hospital but Officials Say the children are alert and expected to recover. Thats good news. All mechanical rides at that fair have been shut down until a state inspection on the ferris wheel has been completed. There are plenty of questions after the 10yearold son of a kansas state lawmaker died while on a ride billed as the worlds tallest water slide. We didnt have a lot of horrible flooding yesterday but we did have some wet weather that would cause a little isolated ponding on the road near tampa yesterday. Still that rainfall linkers. You see the circulation here. This is whats going to linger for the next three to four days. Thats why the flood threat is going to continue even though nothing horrible has happened yesterday. We did see rain in North Carolina with isolated flooding. Thats good. Here is the rain fall forecast. This is over three days. The soil down in florida is kind of sandy so it sinks down into the soil. It doesnt really rush around like it would in a mountainous terrain so we can deal with this around apalachicola to pensacola. This area of red and pink thats around 4 to about 5 inches of rainfall over the next couple of days. When we start pushing it over into southern mississippi and new orleans gets a little more swampy, couple more rivers in that area. We could see more of the problems in the days ahead. Were going to watch areas from new orleans to bill oxty to mobile as we go throughout the middle of the week, wednesday looks to be the heaviest rainfall there. Mentioning out west, this is all a lot of the moisture associated with javier and that storm didnt really hit Cabo San Lucas too badly but that rainfall is going to spread to the north.
