President manhunt for accomplices linked to the paris attacks. Theres word that a 29yearold frenchman has been arrested. This image is from a courtroom on monday. The french paper reports that the man had spoken to one of the suspects before the attacks and was arrested at the border. The paris prosecutor had no comment. At the same time the hunt goes on for Hayat Boumeddiene, the widow of the suspect killed. A 23yearold french citizen in an istanbul airport. She has since fled to syria. As the search goes on services were held for those who lost their lives in the attacks. Funerals for the four jewish victims in the kosher market took place in jerusalem. And in paris, the french president paid tribute to the officers by awarding them the honor. All this comes as Charlie Hebdo released the cover of its new issue. 3 million copies are being prepared in 16 languages. As we speak the entire staff of Charlie Hebdo is holding a News Conference. Nbc and other networks have decided not to show this news cover, which depicts the prophet mohammed. Editors of the magazine say they are disappointed by the decision. I think all of these revelations around Charlie Hebdo. We have this covered from multiple angles. Richard engel is in paris, i want to start with you. Where do we stand in terms of the search for accomplices . Reporter french officials are still looking for accomplices. Thats all they will say. They wont specify the exact number. There have been numerous reports they are looking for six specific accomplices. That number is not correct. It may be more it may be fewer than six. We also are learning more about the relationships between the two as people dig deeper and deeper into the past of these individuals. And the more you dig, the more you realize how well known these three attackers were to french authorities, how well known they were to u. S. Authorities and a clearer picture is emerging after they carried out these attacks, people who may have been involved are trying to make their way to syria, which is of course now has isis sanctuaries. You saw Hayat Boumeddiene traveling with a companion. The man arrested on the Turkish Border heading in the direction of syria. The attacks took place and some of those who may have been involved are trying to get in a place where they cant really be gotten to. And richard, can you tell us about the firsthand accounts were now hearing about last weeks attacks . Reporter i think the most dramatic account took place in that Printing House. If you remember and i was not very far from the scene, this was there were two hostage situations. One at the Kosher Grocery store. The other at a small Printing House by the airport. Thats where the two brothers burst in took the owner of the Printing Press hostage and ultimately ended in a gunfight and the two brothers being killed. All the while on an upper floor of this Printing House, there was another man there. Someone that the hostages never found. He was hiding under the sink. He gave an interview with French Television last night. He describes how he ran upstairs, hid under the sink. The owner of the Printing Press actually tried to slow the brothers down by offering them coffee and trying to be polite to them. One of the brothers had a superficial wound to his neck. The owner of the Printing Press gave him first aid that gave the man even more time. He didnt move from under that sink for seven hours. Even while one of the brothers turned on the sink took a drink from it water was pouring down his back. You can imagine what a terrifying experience it would have been. He only came out from under the sink when the gunfight was over and the brothers were killed. Incredible story, richard, thank you so much. As i told you at the beginning of this broadcast, the staff of Charlie Hebdo is holding a press conference. I have live pictures to show you from paris where the remainder of Charlie Hebdo is currently starting this press conference. As we said earlier, the new addition is going to be printed in 16 languages, 3 million copies will be printed. This is the staff as they hold this News Conference at 3 05 p. M. Paris time. Well keep a close watch on this developing story and bring you any of the details as they come to our newsroom. But nbc is in jerusalem where four of the victims were laid to rest about four hours ago now. Describe the scene for us. The actual funeral ceremony was over. We left the scene, excuse me of that cemetery. The bodies were brought to the cemetery. Around the actual prayers, there were hundreds of mourners who had gathered many Holding Signs that we have now seen from all around the world in expressing solidarity with what happened in france. More importantly expressing sympathy with the victims and their families. But more importantly today we saw the israeli president and Prime Minister addressing those crowds really saying that these four individuals were not welcome. This is not how they wanted to come to israel. But they addressed the issue of rising antisemitism in europe saying this is a growing problem that can no longer be ignored, but at the same time saying its a wakeup call for the world to kick into action to do something about it. We also heard from some of the family members, the widow of one of those that was killed they all describe in loving terms the individuals that were killed ranging from ages as young as 20 some of them as old into their early 60s. Nonetheless, the message that was coming out of the people today, particularly at that ceremony, was a defiant one. There were people there very much expressing support for the israeli Prime Minister who has been making some calls on jews in france and in europe to come to israel, to feel home there and thats something that a lot of people here support. Its also been an issue of some disagreement with european as well as the french Prime Minister who said if 100,000 jews left from france it would cease to be a republic. So a somber day here in jerusalem. Later this hour roman farrow will have an interview with the widow of the editor one of the ten journalists gunned down last week. I want to go to the white house where it will be a busy day as the administration, youre watching now these live pictures from the press conference. This is a policing summit that the white house is holding this very morning. The president s task force on policing just starting with its first public meeting. And Chris Jansing is at the white house. Tell me a little about what the white house is planning today and this meeting today was it had been in the books for some time. Reporter this is something that the president put together by executive order, another situation where he used his pen to take action to get a policing summit together. This is the first of the meetings of the task force in the 21st century policing. You have the mayors of some big cities there, sacramento new orleans, philadelphia baltimore. Its headed by the Police Commissioner in philadelphia. It follows what happened in ferguson, what happened in cleveland, ohio in Staten Island and its a way for the president to ask the Justice Department and Police Agencies around the country to address the problems that led to those situations. And so they are going to be talking a lot about certain things today. One of them is certain to be body cameras. One of the things that was talked a lot about the aftermath of ferguson. Members of this task force met with members of the black caucus and one of them was pushing for money in the president s budget which he will unveil next month for these body cameras since it didnt make it through congress. Obviously, they know that they have to improve relationships between communities and police. Take a look at a poll recently. It shows that theres not overwhelming trust in police all around the country, but theres particularly low trust when you look at the Africanamerican Community and so they want to build those bridges, build those relationships. Look at some of the practices that work. For example, in california where they have body cameras on many of the Police Officers complaints dropped by 88 . Use of force dropped by 60 . Those are the things they will try to achieve as they move forward with this task force, jose. I want to take you back to the story that we have been covering from paris, which is the white house in a very unusual move actually said they made a mistake, which is something u yo dont see politicians doing. They recognize they made a mistake by not sending a high delegation to the rally. I dont think you hear it from previous white houses. Its obviously not something they want to do. Look obviously, they were caught flat footed because i thought the other big revelation besides the wish wed sent someone of a higher profile. The other surprising revelation is that it never made it to the president s desk which they suggested they did not anticipate the number of World Leaders who went and a Diverse Group of World Leaders who marched arm in arm. Probably didnt anticipate the size of the rally and the emotional impact it would have. Well over a Million People just on the streets of paris. Upwards approaching 4 million throughout france and marches elsewhere including one here in washington, d. C. So even though early in the day when you talked to white house officials, they were pushing back really hard and suggesting that we were focusing on the wrong thing that it was about the positive action that the white house had taken to help france in the aftermath of this massacre that clearly the optics were bad, the pressure was building and they had to say u that they wished they had done things differently. Chris jansing at the white house, thank you very much. Well go back to you later. The president is scheduled to meet with leaders at 11 00 a. M. I want to go back now to paris. The News Conference being held now by the staff of Charlie Hebdo. Their edition is coming to the streets very shortly, being printed in 16 languages. Lets go a little bit to that News Conference in paris right now. Because of their drawing, it means they dont know how to talk, so i apologize. We basically do these little drawings to try to explain ourselves, just like when we were children. We thought for a long time that the best way to describe this complicated world just like when we were children was to protect ourselves from the mistakes of people, but its not all that. The cover actually no forget that im going to explain to you how this all went down. The first day was very complicated. The second day was also very complicated, but we had to start asking questions. We had to figure out how it was going to happen. We had to make this newspaper. We had to make a newspaper with intelligent drawings not just any other newspaper. We needed it to be emotional, something sensible something with a lot of heart for us. We needed to start, but we really didnt know how to start to be perfectly honest. Thursday night, i drew something, i made a drawing. The drawing isnt actually in charlie. Its a drawing of catharsis. It was for me to be able to unblock myself so we could all unblock ourselves and begin the process. So here finally the first drawing was done but we had to continue for as long as possible. So we continued drawing, continued drawing with all of those who remain like katherine, cocoa and those who are still with us. Those who are still apart of us. And that is how we moved along very slowly. We finally made some drawings, not many but we finally made some. These were more complicated than the others. We tried to explain the demonstrations. We tried to find inspirations for comic books the way we did before. More than anything, we tried to put the drawings of those who are no longer here in the newspaper. His drawings are here. Everyone is in this thing. We reached out to everyone because when we make a cover, the inspiration cant only come from ones head. We have to look at other peoples drawings. When we look at the drawings it makes us want to do something as good or better as him because he was just so good. We worked and we worked. We decided to pick this one and said, no we need to keep digging. As far as i was concerned, i was backed into a corner. I called upon everyone talented from this newspaper, people who are no longer here people who are still here. I told myself we all told ourselves ourselves. The staff of Charlie Hebdo describing the days and hours after this horrible massacre in their offices and how they have. Put this all together remembering the people that were kill ed killed in that massacre and the importance and responsibility they have to continue on with those four people you see on the screens and the entire staff of a magazine. Were going to take a short break and be back with a lot more on this busy day at the rundown. The tweet comes a day after an unknown hacker posted threats to the twitter and youtube accounts, which Officials Say compromised the sites for about 30 minutes. However, the president is out there talking about protecting peoples privacy in the industry and at the same time you have military members being hacked. This was not an intrusion into a military system. It was an intrusion into a third party commercial social media platform. There was no evidence that any classified information was compromised. I want to go back to the latest on france. The publishers plan to print an unprecedented 3 million copies of the magazine. Thats 50 times their normal run. The surviving Staff Members were Still Holding a News Conference as we speak. This is the First Edition of the magazine since terrorists angry over the printing of caricatures of the prophet mohammed gunned down. The headline reads all is forgiven. Other networks have made the editorial decision not to show the cover. Roman spoke to one of the employees who is still in recent shock. I dont heal, i just drink some water. I would like to die sometime. Its very difficult because what makes you feel like that that youd like to die . Because i would like to give my life for my boyfriend. Hes a great man. Hes my hero. Ronan farrow joins me now. What is being said about the latest edition . She like so much of france is waiting and watching and holding the deepest belief that this next issue is an important moment, an important opportunity to stand strong for freedom of expression, which was so much of the legacy. The entire country is grieving for this man. In the crowds that were behind me at this very area there were pictures of him everywhere. People were talking about his name. Its much more personal for her. She talked about the day of the attack, going to the site of the attack collapsing not wanting to leave his bodys side. Shes very much a woman in mourning. But she like everyone else believes in this new issue and is watching closely for it. Were hearing, as you mentioned, there was an unprecedented number of these being printed and that they are already sold out at newsstands around paris. People have gone and prereserved their copies. Thats a stunning about face for a paper that was in financial trouble before this attack. There were talks of waning popularity. It was a stressful time for them financially. We should note on this mourning widow, shes adamant that they were in an intimate relationship for many years. She showed us many home videos that showed her child calling him dad, showed them at home together. There are friends of his and his family who deny that. Who say she is crazy in the words of a close friend i just talked to. She told me in response to that the first time shes responded to the allegations, this was a romeo and juliette romance and people didnt want to see them together because of their political differences. She says no one can silence me and thats the statement of the new issue. I just want to briefly say while were on air here we have live breaking news. The staffers behind that new issue are gathering for a press conference as we speak at their new offices to discuss the new issue. We are following that and bringing any news to everyone in the organization that comes out of it. I actually just had the very first u. S. Media interview with one of the writers behind the new issue. Thats actually an individual who is also an emergency room doctor, who was one of the First Responders on the scene. And one thing he told me is that he has a new article in this issue, this is the first time were getting this information on air, its a tribute in which he describes jokingly that hes paying too much for his phone service because he can no longer get his calls through. There are many in france who are feeling they have lost a friend and an ally to free speech today. And really interesting what youre telling us. We have been we went to that News Conference a few minutes ago. But talk to me about the reaction that a lot of people are having to the fact that many media organizations throughout the world have decided not to show the cover of this magazine. Well we also managed to secure the first u. S. Media interview with a former writer who was on staff when they published the first pictures that eventually led to the fire bombing of the old offices. She knows these issues very well. Shes been part of the core group of exstaffers as a tightly knit Group Standing behind this new issue, promising the world that it will be published and stand strong in the the face of this terrorism against free speech. She said to me that the feeling everywhere amongst these individuals who are so close to the paper is that the world needs to run these cartoons. Media organizations need to run these cartoons. She said the moment they dont run the cartoons fundamentism has won. Good to see you, thank yous. You can catch his full interview right here on msnbc. Still ahead, were going to turn our attention to another type of terror. From the group in. Nigeria, thousands killed in an attack last weekend. So why isnt this getting the same type of attention . Whooer going to talk about that, next. You owned your car for four years. You named it brad. You loved brad. And then you totaled him. You two had been through everything together. Two boyfriends. These ally bank ira cds really do sound like a sure thing but im a bit skeptical of sure things. Whys that . Look what daddys got. Ahhhhhhhhhh growth you can count on from the bank where no branches equals great rates. With intelligent drawings, not just any other newspaper. We needed it to be emotional, something sensible. Something with a lot of heart for us. We needed to start but we really didnt know how to start. Just moments ago, surviving members of Charlie Hebdo talking about the difficulty of putting together the first issue since the deadly attacks. Lets bring in steve klemmen. Let me get your take on this act of defiance to release 3 million copies one week after these attacks. Its wonderful that they are doing it. They are not only doing it in france but they are issuing copies around the world in many different languages. They are gathering this moment to remind people how vietal Free Expression is. So i think its terrific. It talks about their resilience and that again, the pen is mightier than the sword. I want to switch to another terror crisis that of boko haram. The military killed 143 millitant militants a day after an attack of this group. Whats it going to take to turn that conflict around . Its going to take a lot more coordination and attention by not only those neighboring states around nigeria and that are taking a lot of the displaced people that they have sent fleeing from the atrocities they are hearing in nigeria. Its going to take our attention. The fact that unfortunately during this horror in paris, you had 2,000 People Killed in these villages with very little press attention. Im glad youre focusing on it. We have been ignoring whats happening in africa. The scale of them are just outrageous. And the sort of lack of engagement by the rest of us has been very disappointing. So the problem in these states is these are not particularly stable states. They dont have all of the intelligence capacity. Boko haram is set to destabilize these countries, which would make what is already a nightmare that much worse. We need to work to build capacity in these countries to deal with this it threat. To think that just in the past 48 hours or just since the last weekend, thousands of people were massacred. Tens of thousands have been displaceed from their homes and fleeing for their lives and yet we dont even cover this. Why . Theres so much attention on isis right now. Now al qaeda in the peninsula. The way to connect is to remind people that the leader of boko haram has sworn support for the head of isis and they are now incorporating the isis flag and music and themes into the propaganda material. They are saying that another islamic needs to be established in that region in africa. So that may be the way in which those of us that Pay Attention to these questions sort of make the intellectual and emotional bridge if you will to be considering boko haram on the scale of what isis is doing in the middle east. Just like isis they want to take power. They want to take not only land but they want to establish their own state. A very dangerous situation that we need to be more focused on. Always a pleasure, thank you. My pleasure. Coming up, its a busy day in washington, d. C. We finalized the list with the cubans in july. Obviously announced the deal in december after we completed negotiations on the spy swap. A couple of them were released over the summer. Some were released early in december, but then they were released on a rolling basis. Look regardless of why the cubans chose now to take this sovereign decision to release them, were glad they did and we will keep pushing on other prisoners we believe should be released as well. There were thousands of political arrests in cuba last year the deal only includes 53 prisoners. What leverage does the u. S. Have to push for more changes if all of the deal is signed sealed and delivered . This is just the start of a much broader relationship here as we talked about a different kind of relationship. These 53 prisoners were people we felt strongly about but i think one of the things we tried to underscore the past several weeks and since we announced the agreement was that this is not the extent of what we care about. We are, i am sure going to have many areas regarding human rights where we continue to disagree with the cuban government. Thats why we believe were more able to push the issues with the cuban government if we have a full embassy, if we have an ambassador. We will have more leverage if were fully engaged. Thats what were going to do certainly and theres much more work to do. In the wall street journal oped, they mention the fact that cuban spies were included in official delegations throughout the world and here in the United States there have been issues of cuban spies among delegations in the united nations, et cetera. Are you concerned that with the new opening of relations were going to see more cuban spying in the United States . We have seen some pretty high level cuban spies found in the state department and elsewhere in the past. Look coming from my previous world in the intelligence community, spy craft is certainly not a new trade. Were always concerned about it. But i think really what the new relationship is based on you mention a trip coming up assistant secretary Roberta Jacobson is going to cuba how we can increase our leverage and values. All the things we were remained concerned about a long time havent gone away we believe the better way to promote our interests is to be engaged more. Thats what youll see going forward. Marie, thanks for being with me. Good to see you. Good to see you, jose. Bring in mauricio. Good to see you. Cuba released 53 Political Prisoners, some that have been there for years. Is this a good sign . Celebrate the release of 53 prisoners, but lots of questions in regards to accountability and transparency in regards to the administration that need to be asked because as this relationship is going to go forward, obviously you want to be able to trust the administration in having a new relationship. The fact remains that some prisoners, including 14 of them have been released months, some up to a year before the december 17th announcement by the president. One held in a punishment cell until early january. It is a fickle fungable agreement. The list was drafted in june. How come one of them was released a year ago . Theres a lot of questions i think before june. Theres questions about transparency, and frankly accountability that needs to be asked here and i think thats why to a degree the administration kept this list secret for all this time because what they wanted to do is be able to therefore at the end describe and explain Mission Accomplished quote, unquote, in whatever terms they wanted to. Obviously theyre going to have these conversation in havana didnt want to go with questions about the whereabouts and fate of 53 prisoners. Essentially this list was fungable. It should have been released december 17th. And they should have been honest, clear and transparent to the American People about it. And is this not a step that marie was talking about that maybe the United States can have now, pressure new pressure on the castro regime to open up and release many more Political Prisoners . The other question is why 53 were chosen we know of 50 more and more arrested a famous artist. What leverage the president has to be able to pressure obviously now they think pressure works. Now theyre talking about pressure. However, the president doesnt have much more executive power left since he usual gave away the farm for this deal in order to pressure the cuban government. But what we learned is that pressure and leverage which is what we argued all along worked. It works when you get a good deal not when you get an essentially three for one spy release and give away all u. S. Policy for something the cuban government has done often, holding Political Prisoners as tools of coercion. Thank you very much for being with me this morning. Appreciate it. Coming up as we take a turn on the rundown, gearing up for a big hour out of washington. Welcome back to the second hour of the rundown where the action now is on capitol hill. Duel News Conferences john boehner and nancy pelosi about to hold an event, calling on House Republicans to stop playing games and fully Fund Department of Homeland Security. We expect to hear from both sides before they head to the white house to meet with the president. Going to happen 11 00 a. M. This morning to hash out the 2015 legislative agenda. More on that in a moment. I want to turn back to paris where the staff of Charlie Hebdo has been speak to go the media as they prepare to release First Edition of the magazine since last weeks massacre. They say the edition was done in quote, sadness and joy. We reached out to everyone. Because when we make a cover, the inspiration cant only come from ones head. We have to look at other peoples drawings. When we look at the drawings it makes us want to do something as good or better as himt because he was so good. Some 3 million will be released with image of muhammad read ago sign that says i am charlie. Editors arent worried about the cover because people are intelligent. Meanwhile, getting new pictures from a funeral of the Police Officer shot and killed outside Charlie Hebdo offices last week. He is one of three officers honored at a ceremony in paris. All three awarded legion of honor by the president. In addition, the French National assembly is meeting today, holding a moment of silence just a short time ago. Nbcs ron allen is live in paris this morning. Ron, good morning. Reporter good morning, jose. It has been quite an emotional day here of public mourning and honoring the Police Officers earlier this morning at the paris Police Headquarters. The president there, a solemn ceremony with families hundreds of officers there, some of them unable to control their emotions, very upset obviously about what happened. They were honored, they were treated as heroes. The president said essentially that they died so that all of us french men could live in freedom. Very moving day. Then we have the funeral of the officer, a muslim funeral would have been 24 hours after the death but had to be delayed because of the circumstances of the investigation. They came together singing the National Anthem and holding a moment of silence. You can hear the sirens in the background. Theres a lot of sirens around paris. I dont know how normal it is. Seems like a lot. Theres a lot of security 5,000 or so Police Officers 10,000 military troops deployed around the city at the eiffel tower. And theres talk about what to do in terms of surveillance. The discussion of whether the country needs more antiterrorism laws. There was one passed back in november, whether the country needs one thats tighter, more intrusive, if you will. And that flies in the face of the idea of liberty, which the french so covet, which has been the center of this protest and demonstration in support of the magazine here today. Thats what we have today. Still people here at the square paying respects and everyone looking forward to that magazine coming out tomorrow. Jose . Ron allen in paris, thank you so very much. While the outpouring of support in france has been huge it has not been universal. In pockets, a sizable Muslim Community, there are serious doubts about whats behind last weeks attacks. Dana kennedy is a journalist for the daily beast, has written about this. You talked dana to some french muslims who say this was a conspiracy. What do they mean . Reporter well i went out to what they call the suburbs of france which are not what americans think of as the suburbs, really the housing projects outside paris. There are a couple of areas inside paris where a lot of poor muslims live. I talked to a Cross Section of mainly french algerian young men who said to me it was pretty much they felt the attacks were actually a conspiracy by the jews to make muslims look bad. One person told me that in fact they werent just regular jews that were doing this in fact they were a race of magical jews, master manipulators that could be everywhere at the same time. I spent a lot of time at one time in my career in housing projects like the south bronx, and brooklyn, harlem. And the housing projects in outside paris are often referred to as you know gritty hard scrub, places of desperation, not saying it isnt tough to live there, for an american to go out there, five to ten miles outside the city these housing projects are nothing that you would compare to anything in america or to rio or outside naples. They look sort of nice. I was in one of the most dangerous towns in france supposedly, and the mcdonalds so pristine, you could almost eat off the floor. The server came and served hamburgers and french fries in a pristine booth. It was shocking to see young muslims with so much hatred toward the jews and also to america, but theyre also in areas which while portrayed as being desperate areas are in fact they dont look really so terrible. And dana the fact is appearances arent always exactly what they seem to be. You can be surrounded by a very comfortable looking situation but feel despair because you feel you are so isolated within a society that has clean restaurants and nice buildings, but that ignores you and ignores your dreams and aspirations. Surely not all muslims in france feel that same way. Have these attacks strained relations between the Muslim Community and others in france . First of all, i agree and dont agree with some of what you said. This is not a Cross Section of muslims, these are Cross Sections of what i call punks, people that were the same age as the kouachi brothers. Certainly this is not representative of all muslims in france to say the very least nor do the people i spoke to say they were for the attacks. They didnt say they think it was really good. But at the same time i have to say that my ancestors in boston the kennedys came when they came up against a little racism i dont think it is totally fair to say that just because theyre in nice surroundings they dont have a difficult time. Im sure they do. Im trying to make the point that the housing projects that everybody reads about being so terrible simply are not that bad. I think it is important to let at least american viewers know that. Im glad you went and saw it with your own eyes. Dana kennedy thank you for being with me from paris today. And happening now on capitol hill hearing from republican and Democratic House leaders. Both sides saying well theyve got their legislative priorities ready to go but we know theres not a lot they can agree on. Next hour 18 members of congress top leaders from both chambers, will meet with president obama at the white house. The first facetoface meeting since republicans tightened a power grip on congress. With me now, kris jansing at the white house. Luke russert on capitol hill. Thank you both for being with me. Kris, start with you. Going into this not even a lot of agreement on what they could agree on right . Reporter a little maybe on Something Like trade or maybe Corporate Tax reform but i think it is worth setting the stage that you have republicans who are going into a meeting and theyre not happy with the president , with veto threats he issued and the fact that he did the executive orders on things like immigration, and you have people in the white house who are still stinging from Majority Leader Mitch Mcconnell who said four years ago, almost five years ago, his job was to make barack obama a one term president , so that sort of sets the stage. Having said that i think the president and Mitch Mcconnell have something of a cordial relationship, and the bottom line is this they both have it in their interest to try to get something done. The president who is looking at his legacy and closing window of opportunity, and republicans who now that theyre in charge of both houses of Congress Want to prove they can govern jose. And luke Speaker Boehner says veto threats from the president prove he is not listening to americans. How will republicans remember those threats like the Keystone Pipeline when it comes to compromise elsewhere . Theyll say it is more of the same. Theyll say the president talks a good game about compromise when push comes to shove he is not willing to do it. I will be interested to see, jose what specifically is talked about regarding three issues. Republicans told me they want to talk to the president about jobs see if they can find some Common Ground on a jobs bill thats not been able to happen in the past because the president wanted more Infrastructure Spending which a lot of republicans say adds to the deficit. Republicans want a lot of tax credits which the president says adds to deficit. Thats a big source of disagreement how they move forward on that. The other two issues are fascinating here immigration and continuing war on isis. House Speaker John Boehner that press conference our producer said he discussed he wanted to have a new authorization to go after isis. Congress more in the process and shedding light on what the operations are regarding isis which has been ongoing since roughly middle of last year perhaps around fall last year. Also has been ongoing the cost to treasury. Wants to be more light shed on that from republicans. And the issue of immigration, something thats been around some time on capitol hill. Republicans are going to move forward with a bill wednesday, jose. It goes very far to the right. Seeks to repeal president obamas order from 2012 during the campaign. They want to repeal the latest executive order. So theyre going to see what the possibility is of some sort of agreement on immigration, but if the House Republicans are starting off so far to the right, that will probably become more moderated once the bill goes to the senate. Interesting to see what president obama says in regard to how he wants to work with that. He has basically said i tried working with you guys a few years, you didnt want to move at all, i dont know what we can do on this. Luke russert, kris jansing, thanks for being with me this morning. Appreciate your time. Take care. So much ahead on the second jam packed hour of rundown. We will be keeping eyes on all events from house leaders. We will hear from john boehner, waiting on nancy pelosi to speak momentarily, and Cyber Security is front and center after sent come twitter and youtube sites were hacked. Jim miklaszewski on that. Cyber security is in focus across the Nations Capital, on the hill in the house, the angle is potential threats from north korea. This comes a day after an unknown hacker posted threats and proisis messages to their youtube and twitter accounts which compromised the sites for about 30 minutes. The twitter account is back up and running, but Cyber Security will by coincidence be the focus of the president s remarks at an event later today. Head to the pentagon for more from our chief pentagon correspondent, jim miklaszewski. Good morning. Good morning, jose. Do we know more about who the hackers are . Perhaps somebody in the military does but we dont know it. Theyre searching for those responsible for the hack attack of centcoms twitter and youtube accounts. We are talking to people in the building, theyre almost certain that it is not isis itself because in some threatening message posted by the hackers on the centcom twitter site they referred specifically in those threats to isis. But not even isis calls itself isis. They call themselves the islamic state. They think theyre already created that caliphate. Theyre in iraq and syria so they can legitimately call themselves a state. So because of that theres some suspicion that these are people claiming links to isis but probably not. Thats fascinating, jim. So this is all about the official line is cyber vandalism. Thats right. You know it appeared overnight. First of all, when centcom got the twitter site back up after being down almost all day after it had been hacked they sent out a note saying were back and then blamed the incident on cyber vandalism. But you know this is really an alarm bell to the pentagon to the military. Officials tell us that there are thousands of these social websites or these social accounts in both the pentagon and military. Difficult to keep track of every one of them. And the suspicion is that this was so easily hacked about many of these accounts have many multiple people that log into them on a daily basis, so therefore they think that the pass code protection probably wasnt up to snuff. Jim miklaszewski pleasure to see you. Thank you. We will zoom through todays other top stories. Commuting nightmares a smoke filled d. C. Station and fire in New York Penn station. [ applause ] an emotional day in paris, in the past hour after a moment of silence in the national assembly, this standing ovation for the victims killed in last weeks terror rampage. Last hour we heard from surviving members of Charlie Hebdo magazine who talked about the difficulty of putting out tomorrows issue, the first one since ten Staff Members were killed by two gunmen. In an exclusive interview, ronan farrow talked with the widow of the editor who talked about her loss. It is difficult to explain this because i prefer because you know i realize the right of girls to go to school i stayed too back in pakistan one week in yemen. I interview the chief of taliban, a friend of osama bin laden. I never take veil on my face. I was in kenya with sha bob, a fundamentalist group, and i had nothing, you know. Im alive. And you die in paris in the center of paris, and i dont understand. Ronan farrow host of ronan farrow daily, that was powerful stuff. What does she say about tomorrows issue of the magazine . Well jeannette like so many others is deep in mourning shell shocked right now. She has high hopes that the next issue will live up to the legacy of the man that she loved. This period has been doubly difficult for her, his family has come out, decried their relationship. I talked to close personal friends of the former editor who said there wasnt a relationship there, but we saw reams of home videos where her child was calling him dad, where they were together. Clearly some kind of relationship there. She said there were political and personal reasons why the relationship was kept fairly private, at opposite ends of the spectrum politically, and she said a romeo and juliet dynamic in terms of the families involved. Whatever the truth of the relationship, certainly a woman in mourning a country in mourning, and staff of the new issue also in mourning. One of the things we heard at the press conference that just concluded, jose was how hard it was to come up with material for the new issue. One of the representatives there saying that theyre cartoonists because theyre not good at speaking and part of their coping process has been instead of talking through the pain drawing through the pain. A dramatic turn of events. And anticipation all of the new stands sold out. I spoke to one of the representatives that spoke at the press conference a First Responder on the scene the day of who broke down telling me about the work on the new issue and tribute that he has written for his former friend charb when it hits the news stands at midnight. We will all be watching. Also unusual, 3 million being printed and also in many languages. Thats right. We are hearing 16 languages. We are trying to pin down the exact number and exact number of printing, gone from 1 million to 3 in the course of todays reporting. The broader message is that the entire world is now watching and this struggle that france has gone through and this pain theyre living through is something they felt all around europe not just in the people around europe that are there at this square for the unprecedented protest, but in terms of the global push against extremism going forward, from leaders to people everywhere. It is the worlds story. Thats a point that was made to Parliament Just now with the Prime Minister speaking and saying they need to overcome party and politics differences, and come together against extremism, not against the muslim faith. Ronan farrow from paris, thank you, my friend. Catch his full interview at 1 00 p. M. Eastern here on msnbc. Want to bring in the daily beast correspondent, jamie kerr check. Good morning. Good morning. Four french jews killed in the attack on the kosher super market they were buried today in jerusalem. The Prime Minister said they were returned to their true home. Tell us about the friction caused in france by netanyahus words . This is a debate between really the jewish die as par a. He is one of the reasons israel was created was to be a refuge for jews who are fleeing oppression, who are not safe in their home countries. Thats why it came into being in 1948. And thats why it has been there for the past 65 years or so. So theres always been this tension between israeli governments and the jewish community, and particularly in moments like this when jews are in danger in a country like france. What is the Prime Minister of israel supposed to do . Is he supposed to come and tell jews living in a country like this to come to israel where they will be safe or is he supposed to leave them alone and not say anything . So there are many israelis quite angry at him for coming out and making these statements they dont think it is proper. I happen to think that the situation isnt really safe for jews in france now, and i can certainly understand why many jews in france would want to go to israel. Precisely in the article for the daily beast, the headline reads do jews have a future in france. What do you mean by that. In the last year 7,000 french jews immigrated to israel. Thats the hebrew word, double the amount that made that in 2013. This year, the Jewish Agency for israel the Government Ministry responsible for helping jews immigrate, they expect 10,000 that was before the attacks. The number could even be larger. Were seeing a massive emigration of jews from france to israel. This is a very serious problem. The Prime Minister of france has said the republic of france will fail if we cannot have jews live safely in our country. This is an existential crisis for the french. The problem with antiaccept tichl, it always starts with jews but never ends with them. It is the case in any society. You can think that youre safe if youre not jewish but it is not going to end with the jewish community. Jamie thank you for being with me. Appreciate your time. I want to bring in the ajc paris director. Thank you for being with me this morning. Thank you very much for having me on. Let me ask about the current climate in france with the jewish population. We were speaking with jamie who says that really it is a very difficult situation for jews living in france. Whats your concern . Yeah it is indeed a very difficult situation for jews in france, but its not just what triggered the stress and anger and fear in the jewish community. The reality this situation for jews in france has existed for quite awhile, antisemitic has gone from bad to worse in the past 50 years. You look back a couple years ago, twoandahalf years ago in 2012, young Jewish School children were killed because they were jewish by a terrorist man. So it is really this event just happened was just the consequence of a series of really attacks against the jewish community. So of course theres great worry. Why do you think this has been on the increase in the past 15 years as you say, simone . Theres unfortunately, do you have a few hours, theres no easy answer to that. The reasons are really numerous. The reality is that we have had radical islamism in france but not only in france but the rest of europe actually the rest of the world. To some extent the fact that we saw World Leaders from everywhere come on sunday to the march where 3. 7 Million People went on the streets is actually because the entire world realizes that this attack was not just an attack against jews in france it was not just an attack against journalists, satirical journalists in france but it was an attack against our entire value system against democracy, against everything we actually stand for. Simone thank you very much for being with me this morning from paris. Appreciate your time. Just minutes from now, the president and congressional leaders come face to face to hash out legislative priorities for the year. Those details next. First, reigning nba champs san antonio spurs, stopped by the White House Monday where the president had a little fun with tim duncan he is 38 but already showing some gray hair. First of all, theyre old. And for an old guy, it makes me feel good to see, you know, wheres tim . Alright, so this tylenol arthritis lasts 8 hours, but aleve can last 12 hours. And aleve is proven to work better on pain than tylenol arthritis. So why am i still thinking about this . How are you . Aleve, proven better on pain. Issue of immigration, it is about the president acting lawlessly. Our goal here is to fund the department of Homeland Security. Our second goal is to stop the president executive overreach. This is not the way our government was intended to work. House leaders speaking about the fight over immigration action and House Speaker john Boehner Says Congress will vote to fully Fund Homeland Security but will act to block president obamas executive actions on immigration. For their part democrats want a socalled clean bill to fund dhs without amendments, referring to the president s action. Meanwhile, developing at the white house in about ten minutes, a meeting of washington power brokers, president obama along with the highest ranking congressional leaders will come face to face. Let me bring in Jimmy Williams and robert trien a. M. Editor of blue nation. Com. Thank you both for being with me. Jimmy, ill start with you. This meeting at the white house, sounds good but is it more than just a photo op . Can they reach any kind of agreement here . It is a photo op. Glad you called it that. I mean listen, this is whats so great about dividing government. You have Democrats Holding the white house, 1600 pennsylvania avenue. Republicans holding both houses of congress. What is Congress Going to do today . The senate will vote debate Keystone Pipeline. The president already said i am going to veto that. Whats the house going to do . Squirm on department of Homeland Security and make the democrats take tough votes on immigration. Theyll go to the white house, shake hands, eat lunch, allow the president to come in take a picture, go back to hating each other. It is a huge waste of time. I wish they wouldnt even show up at the white house, just battle it out so the American People consider it business as usual. I strongly disagree. I simply disagree with that. Is it a photo op . Of course it is. This is a conversation that hopefully republicans and democrats will have about moving the country forward. At the end of the day, jimmy is right. Democrats control the white house, republicans control the other end of pennsylvania avenue. What the American People want is action. They obviously voted for divided government so republicans own part of the government if you will, so what they have to do is figure out if they want to do this or not, whether or not they want to compromise and work with the president on Immigration Reform, on comprehensive tax reform, on the Keystone Pipeline or go hard right to flank out republican nominee in 2016. Thats the question they have to have. Robert theres a small problem with that idea. The Republican House had an immigration bill that got 14 republicans in the senate to vote for it. Had it two years, did nothing with it. This idea that they want to work with the president of the United States, i love the idea of that but i also like the idea of having a date every night. Thats not reality. So the theory theyre going to work with the president on Immigration Reform is simply not right, theyre not going to work with him. Theyre just not. I strongly disagree with that. Robert lets talk about that. The fact is that the republicans in the past have found it difficult to deal with the president , and quite frankly the president hasnt done a lot of outreach to deal with the republicans. Is there any way. Thats true. Is there any way, robert, do you think that this sitting in your own area not dealing with each other, can somehow be broken . Yes, heres the difference. Theres a critical difference here. Republicans now control the senate as well as the house. Previously republicans only controlled the house, so everything the house passed obviously the democratic controlled senate stopped and vice versa. The difference here as i said before republicans now own part of the government now, it is sirk a 1994 all over again between bill clinton and Newt Gingrich where you have to pass something now. You cannot simply blame the other side and say the other side is stopping something. I know it sounds idealistic but thats how the country works. Jimmy, can that happen . It happened once before. Robert is overlooking something, as my former Senate Colleague knows as well as i do the senate a Republican Senate does not always rubber stamp what the Republican House does. The Republican House sends crazy bills over and what does the Republican Senate do . They say hang on a minute. Youve got people that are going to be up for reelection in 2016 that arent going to like some of this immigration stuff, people like rob portman, kelly ayotte i mean the point is that youre going to have a Republican Senate where they go wait lets put the brakes on what the house is doing. Thats always been the case until now. Lets talk about three specific things that republicans and democrats agree on, at least the majority. Overhaul tax reform some type of Immigration Reform and republicans are on record saying wheres the bill . Well see it in a couple weeks. Waiting for a bill for four years. Wheres the bill . Thats a good question we will hopefully get answers to in 2015. Jimmy, robert, thank you both for being with me. Appreciate it. Thank you. Have a good day. You too. I want to bring an update about a story from last hour. California attorney general announced shes running for senate in 2016 looking to fill the seat by retiring barbara boxer. In a message to supporters she says she wants to be a voice for california on issues that impact the state. Says she will fight recentlessly to protect immigrant communities. This is a race we will watch as more candidates throw their hats into the ring. Now to a sports note ohio state celebrating after winning the first ever College Football playoff and did it in dominating fashion. Empire state building in new york lit up in scar let and gray colors of the buckeyes. Craig melvin is at at t stadium in arlington, texas. Craig, good morning. Reporter jose good morning to you. I would say roughly 60 70 of the stadium last night Ohio State Buckeyes fans and we saw them celebrating into the wee hours of the morning, sell bragsz pretty tame in north texas, but got out of hand in columbus, ohio. At one point police put on the riot gear as folks took to the streets on and around the campus. Some 8,000 students we are told rushed the stadium, tore down the goalpost. Police used tear gas and pepper spray as well. A lot of folks celebrating. The 8th National Championship for the Ohio State Buckeyes. A shoot out deep in the heart of texas and new champion crowned.
