Going to look back at this day and say we may be leading with the wrong story, but we dont know cha one will be huge. The president put out a red light about investigating his administration. Democrats took his warning and that red light and said forget it and they blew through it. The second big story involves multibillion bomb shells rocking virginia politics. Including the lieutenant governors accuser with specific details of what happens. Meanwhile, the third big story tonight cold all but end elizabeth warns president ial candy is a before it begins. As you see, these are big stories tonight with potentially long term concentrate squep consequences. Were going to start with the president s battle for survival. He warned the democrats to back off of investigations and today they ramped them up. Specifically, whether or not any foreign actor compromised them or tried to. Here is the president s response this afternoon. This morning the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee said he would launch a deep investigation. He is a political hack trying to build a name for himself. It is called president ial harassment. Well, so much for comedy. Congre congressman decided to send 50 related transcripts to the special councils office. And jerry nadler stepped up pressure for the attorney general to answer an array of questions on friday. And that comes as Elijah Cummings says he is not slowing down on his investigation either. So now the Trump Presidency is entering survival mode. In its most basic and primal form that is what last nights state of the union was about as far as the president was concerned. Survival. An economic miracle is taking place in the United States and the only thing that can stop it are foolish wars, politics, or ridiculous partisan investigations. I had one of them point out to me, that the most compelling part of her story is after she gets her divorce and talks about getting these jobs, that the most compelling part of her personal life its also then entangled with her use of identifying herself as native american and its complicating what heidi said. They think thats why this is so damaging to her. I think we want candidates who are knowing and honest about themselves especially now. That adds to the problems for the senator because it sounds like she kind of mythologized something in way. We dont need any myths right now. Thats an interesting turn of phrase. I kind of step back from this narrative from a different perspective having grown up in a black household from Southern Roots where theyre all kinds of story lines about a family and who they are and who they arent. Family comes to believe that, i have certain relatives that said our family have native americans. Come to find out they dont because they have high cheekbones. High cheekbones run in various cultures. The fact that part of her story is, her familys narrative put this in play for her ooas young woman moving into the world.
