Absolutely, thomas, the big picture is keeping a thousand jobs here in indiana, it is something that donald trump campaigned on in many months. That was part of his speech. You need to save these jobs and he would use carrier and examples of job going into mexico. Carrier will receive 7 million from tax incentives over the course of ten years. Theyre keeping those jobs here as well as invest 16 million into their operations here in indiana. Not spelled out in the deal but a huge component of this is carrier was owned by a Company CalledUnited Technology of 5 billion of federal contract and our sources telling us there was concern with trumps rhetoric that when he took to the white house that the federal contract maybe in jeopardy if those jobs were moved to mexico. We are hearing thats a major component and keeping the jobs here. We can tell you that president elect trump and Vice President elect pence spoke with United Technology in know shatisha know in negotiating this deal. And those jobs are still set to go to mexico so while this is certainly a small victory for the workers here at this plant and a political victory for donald trump. The bleeding is not stopping as far as manufacturing and leaving to go over seas and the worker who is are going outside to this plant want people to know that and thats why they will continuing to protest. This is no doubt a Major Political history for donald trump. That area of jobs is going to be lost from huntington in indiana and 700 of those jobs are going to be going to mexico. But i do know that mike pence is still the sitting governor of indiana. I have no doubt that he will probably had a hand many hein h this and this is what governors do. It is something to seal the deal here. Sweet is this a challenge trying to replicate this elsewhere . There is a unique situation here because pence is still the governor of indiana. You got those factors at work. I am curious Going Forward to see if there is a new model trump is trying to file here. Hes going to target these individual cases where jobs are the threat of leaving. Hes trying to wrap it up. I can come and have a big celebatory event. Trade is a net plus, technology has caused more jobs than trade has. It misses the point of whats going on in industrial america. There is no way to replicate that. How can they replicate this kind of example that we are seeing at this hour of a huge success when it is a thousand jobs dropped in the buck. One big irony, thomas, since donald trump won the election on november 8th, the mexican peso has declined. It makes mexican economy that much more competitive. It is a bigger incentive to put the plant on mexico now. So there is a certain irony here that his presence has now made mexico from a perspective of that much morkeith activie comp. Mexico has a plant of 600,000 square feet. They are getting fired up to put folks in. Donald trump will be there next after stopping here in indiana. This is the thank you tour. Members say hes going to go to some of these places that tipped him over the edge. Well see him in places like michigan and pennsylvania and ohio and etcetera, so i think hes starting in ohio, right . A lot of conservatives are going to look at this. This is capitalism and this is government picking winners and losers and historical. Trust me, this is the headline that is going resonate among his base. It is a win and maybe a symbolic win but in politics, thats what counts. This story is getting a lot of attention. First of all, i am a governor, how did you get a 7 million tax break as a governor. This is a subsidy or a violate wto standards. I cannot talk about nafta which trump does not care much about anyway. This is an unbelievable bad precedent. It does pay corporations to keep their jobs in mexico, we are going to run out of money. The free market drives where money goes. You cannot stop the free market from acting simply by giving enormous tax credits. We are going to run out of money if we do that. Yes, it is a symbolic win and it is really bad policy. These questions have to reanswer. Where does does the 7 million come from . Indiana taxpayers . We know the huntington plant too far away from the indianapolis plant is losing 700 jobs with those folks having jobs lost south of the border and there is over 600,000 plus square foot fill till thats been built by carrier over the years to facilitate that what they wanted to execute coming. As we look at this, there is still a lot of talk about cabinet picks for donald trump and many have served in the government before. S. , were you constantly battling with the fact that there is cheap labor south of the border. It was not inside it has country retention rate issues. We did lose manufacturing jobs for the same reason the midwest did. It is a good thing for coastal states and good thing for north carolina. The real problem is automation. Over night, we have seen people out in the streets near medellin where those people were soccer fans from the other team but they came out in unity because they came out in grief, really. Locals here tell us this plane was about four minutes away from the runway. Just four minutes. They would have managed to land. It looks like thats what the pilot tried to do. Another observation here. There is no sign of any fire or explosions. People pointed that out and that lend itself to the theory which is growing now. What happens was the plane ran out of fuel. How is it possible that this plane could have run out of fuel. Keir, can you give us a look left and right and talk about the folks. Now, it is the indiana governor, mike pence whos the Vice President elect along with president elect trump who managed a deal to keep 1,000 carrier jobs, manufacturing jobs in the state of indiana, not losing those to this new facility that carrier had built in mexico. The executives who are with us and executives with carrr, to the great carrier team here in indiana. [ cheers ] to honor guests, governor elect Garret Holcomb and indianapolis mayor and my fella hoosier, it is great to be back home in indiana. This is a great day for indiana. It is a great day for working people all across the United States of america. [ applause ] as twe are proud manufacturi state. We are home to low taxes and sensible regulations and Great Schools and roads and the best work for us in america. Since the 1950s, carrier had been apart of manufacturings success stories. As governor, i could not be more pleased or grateful. Thanks to the initiatives and the leadership of president elect trump, carrier, decided to stay and grow right here in america. Frankly, thanks to the confidence of gregg hayes, United Technology and bob mcdonald. Carer carrier has decided to stay in the United States and well keep more than 1,000 jobs right here in the heart of the heart land. [ applause ] what a deference a year makes. The truth be told, job announcements are a daily thing here in the state of indiana. We are at record employment hoo work than ever before. That day of february 10th, was our breaking day. Carrier made the difficult decision to close this facility and move jobs out of our country. We made with the leader with our company back in march and making the indiana case that it was cleared that the dire were cast. We are literally driving jobs out of this country. What was missing was cleared to me as your governor, what was missing was leadership and change. Well, the American People voted for change last month and even before taking office, our president elect, provided real leadership that made the difference. [ applause [ applause ] president elect trump did just what he said he would do. He picked up the phone. I was actually in the room. He picked up the phone and talked to one american to another and talked about our plans. Our plans to make america mo more competitive, to reduce tax and roll back regulations and put american jobs and American Workers first again. He made the case for america and carrier decided to bet on a Brighter Future for the American People and we are grateful from the bottom of our hearts.
