In recent days. Biggest mover in the field, senator Amy Klobuchar, up five points from saturday, now in third with 14 . Former Vice President joe biden and senator Elizabeth Warren both at 12 . You take a look at the undecided number. 7 of voters here still shopping. The big question, who will win the voters over. Today, candidates are in an all out sprint to the finish line. Top five contenders set to hold a combined 17 events before the night is over. Lets take you in the field. Road warriors are spread across the state. Shaquille brewster with senator sanders, ali vitale with the warren campaign, and mike memoli. Shaq, to you first. Talk about the stakes for senator sanders in New Hampshire. Practically his home state, has been campaigning here for five years. Reporter thats right. The stakes for senator sanders are pretty high because he comes into New Hampshire in a pretty strong position. Not only did he do well in iowa, he is a neighboring state senator. You look at the average of polling, he is ahead now. He is trying to continue the momentum into today. Right now, he is going to start the day at a breakfast in manchester with supporters and volunteers. He will have a canvas lunch, sending volunteers to knock on peoples doors, reminding them tomorrow is election day. Also seen as change in tone. He has been hitting mayor pete hard, making clear mayor pete has gotten support of some billionaires, saying in this election you have to be with the working people or with the elite and establishment. Youre hearing the attacks. Mayor pete is behind senator sanders. You see why he is doing this, why theres a change in messaging. Stephanie . Mike memoli, Vice President biden needed to come to New Hampshire swinging, already he is lowering expectations. Reporter yes, steph, it is so interesting in terms of whats at stake for the campaign. Theres how the campaign and candidate are behaving and theres what theyre saying publicly. What theyre saying publicly is New Hampshire is one more contest in a series of contests, the first four they see as a package deal. They think ultimately the nomination comes down to who has support from a diverse coalition. The way theyre behaving is a campaign that knows theres a lot on the line with potential fourth place or worse finish with the surge from Amy Klobuchar. They know theres a lot on the line, the video taking aim at Pete Buttigieg. Yesterday dialed criticism back, suggested mayor pete would be a good running mate. Theres divide whether the attack was a good idea, off brand from bidens style of kpang. They know that they need to show he is still in the fight. His biggest strength is perceived strength. Now there are doubts about the candidacy. And the latest polls have Elizabeth Warren in the mix for third or even fourth. Just a few months ago she was riding high. And this is her home territory. How is she going to move ahead with voters. It is really important to her. Reporter so the point mike makes is similar out of the warren campaign, that the first four states, yeah, theyre important, but this will be a long primary. No one has had a decisive victory yet. We know the chaos we saw in iowa. Thats the warren strategy as they look past New Hampshire. On the ground, shes making a point, toggling between being a union unity candidate. Being a home state senator or next door senator does up the ante in terms of expectation level here. That can be difficult for some campaigns. On the other hand, when Elizabeth Warren brings up the senate race, it is not theoretical to voters, they remember watching the race. It was in the newspaper, making headlines in 2012. A big senate race. They remember how it went. I will say the last point is all of the candidates are here at the same time President Trump is here. Yes, it is an opportunity for him to again brand the field, but also an opportunity for them to show how theyll go up against President Trump in a primary thats still all about electability. All right. Thank you all so much. You better stay hydrated. You have a big day ahead. I have a great team with me here. Boston globe political reporter james pin dell, chairman of the Democratic Party, raymond buckley, and beth fouhy. James, yesterday i went to a mayor pete rally assuming the people lined up around the block were hardcore mayor pete supporters, but there were quite a few undecided. I want to share what i heard. Take a look. Youre undecided between pete and who else . Amy klobuchar. I would go with bernie, i would go with any democrat. Leaning towards Pete Buttigieg. My kids want me to vote for Bernie Sanders. Im not exactly sure if thats hes a realistic candidate from my viewpoint. Either biden or pete are more realistic. Whats your reaction to that . When you go to a sanders rally, every person there is feeling the bern. Not necessarily the case at other events. Theres so Much Movement on the more moderate side of the primary. I think thats the dynamic all week. First it was Pete Buttigieg, clearly had a lot of momentum. He got an iowa bump. And then you had biden dropping, and Amy Klobuchar is a new factor in everything playing out. You see the number of undecided, you say as you point out, 7 . That was a decrease of 5 over the course of 24 hours. And still a lot of folks leaning one way, theyre still shopping around. Classic New Hampshire, by the way. I want to stay on the undecideds. Raymond, help us understand how unique the state is. You have independent voters here that will step in and vote. What does that look like . Independents or undeclared voters in New Hampshire are 42 of registered voters. In reality, a third of republicans that dont want to admit it, a third democrats that dont want to admit, tend to be the younger college kids, supporters of senator sanders in fact. Then the middle third, has to be an extraordinary event to cause them to get out to vote. Has to be like 2008, amazing historic election that moved people to be engaged and involved. As the independents are a major factor in the general election, they decide every race, they can decide. John mccain, stark victory against george w. Bush in 2000 was based on what he received for independents. And while senator sanders last time received overwhelming support among independents, still would have bested senator clinton in the race. Bernie sanders has been running here for five years. If he doesnt fair well, what does it mean. And in the reverse, mayor pete, we didnt know him ten months ago. If he fairs well, is that not rocket fuel to get to South Carolina . On senator sanders point, he did well in 2016. Bested Hillary Clinton by 20 points. It was a historic victory. Can he do Something Like that tonight . Unlikely given the large field still. But Bernie Sanders people are Bernie Sanders people. Theyre not going anywhere. It is a matter of margin for him over other candidates. Then you have that moderate middle, a lot of candidates competing for that. Pete buttigieg won that in iowa, even in the muddled mess of iowa. He rose to the occasion. The question is can he do it here. He has a lot of competition. It is a primary, not a caucus. More people are coming out, still shopping. Are they landing on him tonight or landing elsewhere . Thats the question. Amy klobuchar has the momentum, but Pete Buttigieg is coming off rocket fuel of iowa. A lot of moderate voters in the last few days said i am deciding between mayor pete, amy, joe biden. I dont think Bernie Sanders is realistic. But if theyre dividing the vote, dont they create a clear lane for senator sanders to shoot ahead . Thats what worked for President Trump in 2016. I was going to say, thats exactly what happened with President Trump in this primary in 2016 when he had four moderates duking it out. Im not sure we have seen the end of the rise of Amy Klobuchar. Shes more of a force. If you want to drill down on independent voters, there was discussion about this earlier, basically 2016 Bernie Sanders was running neck in neck with Hillary Clinton, slightly ahead, neck in neck with democrats. He won 72 of independent voters. Heres the breakdown in the latest Boston Globe Suffolk University poll. Bernie sanders has 25 of independents, Pete Buttigieg at 22. Watch this. Amy klobuchar began the week with 5 support among undeclared, independent voters, shes now at 15. Voters who decide late tend to go with momentum. Shes peaking at the right time. I thought it was interesting, your question earlier, talk about the two frontrunners. Who is going to be the second frontrunner. Youre right, it was Pete Buttigieg, it wasnt that way a week ago. Amazing. Give us a history lesson. Joe biden and Elizabeth Warren fighting for third. If they dont get it, what does it mean for their candidacies . All of them hope they make it through super tuesday. Disappoints us when anyone drops out. But the relationships with joe biden, people of New Hampshire, i picked him up in 1980 for a fundraiser. Mayor pete wasnt born. True ding. And Amy Klobuchar, if you look at her style, youre looking at her style of governing, being a political leader is very similar to what New Hampshire voters are used to. Her rise, i was wondering, will she have her moment. Low and behold, it happened to be in New Hampshire. Could we see joe biden tonight change his plans. He is having a rally, somebody else is coming to town, big contender. Somebody else is coming, his name is President Trump, crashing the party. He is the bride at every wedding, corpse at every funeral, has to be here. Knows how to throw a party. Yes. He is having a big one in manchester, it is not a good contrast. Joe biden has a get oiut the vote, a fraction of President Trumps attendance. You know who is having another big rally, Bernie Sanders. He is going to be with aoc and he is going to have a good turnout. Probably not what you see from President Trump, it will be okay. Contrast will be huge. While all this is happening, early voting is taking place in california. Thats right. Talk about how delegate rich california is and what it could mean for Bernie Sanders and the delegate count come super tuesday . California is so expensive to run in, very few candidates can afford to make impact, especially if joe biden is way down with fourth or fifth place finish, hard for him to be a factor there. Bernie sanders has been a factor in california for weeks and months, he has been organizing. He has a huge turnout operation in latino voters. You know who will be a factor there is michael bloomberg. He has been competing there, has money to burn, can afford expensive media markets in california. The story of california, they collect ballots a month after primary day. If it is close, what happened in california will make iowa look like a picnic. And it certainly wasnt one. Thank you all so much. Were going to leave it there. We have so much to cover in this important hour. Straight ahead, the national cochair of senator Sanders Campaign joins me here as the camp eyes a first place finish. Heres my question. Bernie, is it my way are the highway, is that the key to driving away supporters . Not sure if thats inclusive. First, this weekend i talked to long time democratic strategist jam James Cargill. Get it together or risk handing the presidency to trump again. 55 of the people dont want donald trump to be president. The media is he is so strong, so powerful, so this. No, hes not, the problem here is the Democratic Party. Lem here is the Democratic Party. Man whats my safelite story . My truck. Is my livelihood. So when my windshield cracked. The experts at Safelite Autoglass came right to me. Tech hi, im adrian. Man thanks for coming. With service i could trust. Right, girl . Singers safelite repair, safelite replace. I respect senator sanders but when i hear this message go out that youre either for a revolution or you have to be for status quo, thats a vision of the country that doesnt have room for most of us. Because we know what has to change. We also know that we are going to bring about that change by coming together, not by saying if you dont agree with me 100 of the time you dont belong by my side. Former mayor Pete Buttigieg battling it out for the top spot in New Hampshire, calling out senator Bernie Sanders, saying his vision for the Democratic Party is simply too narrow. Joining me to respond, national cochair of Bernie Sanders campaign, nina turner. Mayor pete might be going with the extreme but is there a place for the wealthy . I dont necessarily mean the billionaires, thats only 600 people, but is there a place for the affluent in Bernie Sanders campaign . Yes. We have affluent people. Funny to me that you have mayor buttigieg cheerleading for the wealthy he is people in the country, they dont need cheerleaders. People that need the cheerleaders are the working poor. He is calling out excessive greed and how it has crippled the lives, the passion and dreams of so many people in this country. There are affluent people that support Bernie Sanders, national cochair to share that title with me is ben cohen of ben and jerrys. He is going to be the minister of ice cream when we win. We need people, most affluent people to understand people are hurting, theyre in position to call that out like senator sanders. We welcome all, but understand excessive greed kills. Do you run the risk of alienating some of those people, i dont mean just the richest people, but the American Dream is about studying hard, working hard, getting to lead a really good life. Do you run the risk your message isnt welcoming to them . Not at all. Most of the American People when asked about health care side with us, side with the senator, understanding that college, the cost of college is crippling people. People dont have disposable income. When they cross the stage, they cross the stage with a degree in one hand and debt in the other that stifles their ability to be able to live that good life. Some have student debt into their 50s. What the senator is saying is that it is time for the system to only care about the will and dreams of the wealthiest people, we need to bend the body politic to the working poor and barely middle class. Does the senator need to detail how he is going to do that, when Elizabeth Warren laid out the plan for medicare for all, it hurt her campaign. We going to detail it the same way we detail we have enough money to pay for wars, detail in the same way the Congress Gives democrats that voted for increasing the military budget of a president that they say is unfit to serve, hello, somebody, going to pay for it that way. Same way we have enough money to bailout wall street, need to put a down payment on main street. We going to explain how we going to pay for it. The majority of democrats that helped flip the house in 2018 were moderates. James cargill made the arlgt that senator sanders isnt a democrat, he is an ideologue. If he is the candidate, he is not going to help win the senate. Unless you have the senate, if you just got the white house, you aint going to get nothing done. Does practical mean that 89 or so Million People uninsured or underinsured in this country continue to suffer . Does being practical mean we dont take steps to deal with Climate Chaos and bring World Leaders to bear, does it mean we prop up a legal system thats unfair, that bears its weight down on black men and black women, by extension if you are hispanic or indigenous or poor, does being practical mean you dont say to the American People you deserve better than youre getting . Thats not the practical we want. Does it mean you have wine caves and swarovski crystals with billion heirs that want to control the system. Does practical continue with the status quo while 500,000 sleep on the streets at night. All due respect to mr. Cargill, what the American People need is somebody thats unabashed, has courage and conviction to stand up for them and call out the rigging of the system, and that candidate is senator Bernie Sanders. But steps and a revolution are two different things. In order to get to a revolution, you have to take steps. What James Cargill is saying, you have to get to a practical place to make those changes. The elites in 1937 said the same about fdr, said i welcome your hatred. These are the same people if ref recommended Martin Luther king jr. Was alive before he was gunned down, he said to this country that evils of this country, militarism, materialism, poverty, racism. Those are the same people. If president fdr listened to those people or if dr. King listened those people, we would not progress as a nation. Every generation have the nay sayers. They need somebody that will stand up for them. Senator sanders is known as the amendment king, knows how to get things done. What people need is to be able to call on somebody thats not going to capitulate. Senator sanders supporters, whats the number one goal, is it to start the revolution or to defeat donald trump . I ask because theres often a lot of talk around will the supporters get behind another candidate if it is not senator sanders. Stephanie, why cant we have both. The same argument was made in 2016. And a lot of those did vote however, stephanie, more of senator sanders supporters supported Hillary Clinton than her supporters supported barack obama. Lets set the record straight. People want to defeat president donald trump, but they want to know they have a fighter in the white house that will take it all the way, go ham on the system that oppressed them. I reject, so do the American People, the notion that you cannot say to a system it must change and also push a dream and vision thats bigger than what we have now. Who wants somebody saying to working day people of the nation im going to run for office, you only getting more of the same. That doesnt work. We going to win this, steph. All right. Were in it to win it. Great to see you. You too. I always have time for animal print. The New Hampshire scene is getting more crowded, President Trump kicks off a Campaign Rally here in manchester. His plan surely to up stage the primary. Were headed across the street where supporters are camping out overnight in freezing temperatures when live coverage continues from manchester, New Hampshire. As democrats make their last pitch here in New Hampshire, President Trump threatens to upstage them all. In a few hours, the president touches down for a rally that will likely dwarf any other candidate in crowd size. The president tweeting he wants to shake up the dems and their boring deal. Senior correspondent Kristin Welker is in manchester, and Monica Monica alba is outside the trump site. What do we expect tonight . President trump is emboldened right now. Expect to see fire and fury tonight. He is going to use his acquittal last week in the Senate Impeachment trial to energize his base when he speaks in New Hampshire at 7 00 p. M. Eastern. By the way, he did something similar before the iowa caucuses, came the night before to spin up supporters, try to remind people, look, i am the commander in chief, i can get big crowds at the rallies. Remember what happened also, steph, last week, friday night, the president in this emboldened stance got rid of, ousted two key witnesses in the house proceedings, Gordon Sondland and alexand alexander vindman. That sparked backlash, even from some republicans. He was like i am the president , i can hire and fire whoever i want to. What is the backlash looking like . He was urged by Senate Republicans not to take this action, but remember, steph, the same Senate Republicans like Susan Collins said i think the president will learn a lesson in the wake of the acquittal. Doesnt seem like he learned a lesson. He seems more emboldened as ever as the book said let trump be trump. She may have learned a lesson, might not want to say that. Is the goal for trump to upstage the democrats ahead of the primary, so many said who can be big enough to take on trump, is he showing up to say aint nobody . Reporter absolutely, thats right, exactly, steph. You could call it the art of the troll. We see hundreds of Trump Supporters already gathered for the rally tonight. Some arriving as early at 8 00 a. M. Yesterday just to give you an idea of the conditions here. And the reason the president is doing that is exactly to Counter Program and try to stomp on the democrats message. One aide telling me they hope to be on a lot of the newspapers in the state as opposed to just the democrats who are battling it out for the primary. This is an in coupcumbent sendi message before the poll opens, democrats battle it out to find out who their nominee will be, were gearing up, getting ready for november. You can see it is not just the president , the Vice President is doing a bus tour in the state all day today. They have surrogates here. Trying to send a message. This is a place they lost in the general last time by 2700 votes. This is a key state they think they can expand the map on, could be potentially important to the reelection come november, steph. All right. Stay warm, please. It is a long day. Want to bring in New Hampshire gop strategist jim merrill who advised campaigns of marco rubio and mitt romney. Jim, the president s campaign is expecting 10,000 people tonight. Does this really impact New Hampshire voters . Surely it is a big show, but isnt there a difference between show and why people are out there voting and what matters to them . I think it is clear the president knows how to draw attention to himself, is going to do that this evening. I think theyre focused on galvanizing the base. There has been a Republican Primary Campaign with bill weld, joe walsh until he dropped out. Theyre looking for an important showing tomorrow. Theres talk of a primary for a year. I think theyre looking for great turnout. I think they want to win New Hampshire who lost by a close margin a couple years ago. He talked about it often. The team spent a lot of time in New Hampshire getting ready for november. This is a look ahead. This will be a hotly contested stalt, a handful of battlegrounds around the country. How does the average New Hampshire voter feel about the president . Depends how you slice that. You look at polling concerns, his numbers arent that great. Among the Republican Party, he has incredibly strong numbers. We are a long way before general election. We have seen the president trying to attract voters groups he hasnt been able to do well with, like suburban voters. Well see how it goes. I think right now, he is looking at maximum base turnout election year, thats what he is doing tonight. What about classic priorities of the Republican Party, richard troy put out an opinion piece in the concorde monitor saying dont be fooled by the president s borrow and bankrupt economic policy. Do republicans not care about the deficit any more . I think it is a topic both parties have lost their way on, republicans and democrats dont talk a lot about fiscal responsibilities. Voters dont. Mayor buttigieg did yesterday, which i saw criticism of. No, this is a pocketbook state. Look at state legislators, both parties focus on fiscal responsibility. Washington seems to have lost its way. Isnt it about can i afford my life, my kids schooling or people looking at the deficit. You poll people on the street, deficit numbers, they would be off by the gazillions. I think theyre numbed by it, numbers are so large. New hampshire we balance the budget every two years. Republicans and democrats Work Together to do that. Theres a sensitivity to fiscal issues but dont see candidates talk about them. Lets talk about independents. Theres an idea were going to see some out there, some never trumpers show up and vote in anything except Bernie Sanders, they fear this lane, if democrats push forward a Bernie Sanders, thats exactly what President Trump wants. Im skeptical of that effort frankly. I think typically you see independent voters vote where the energy is in the election, this year, no question it is among democrats. I think independents will vote not strategically based on being against the president , i think based on which Democratic Candidates are making the best case. Right now, you see Amy Klobuchar is the one really moving. I think theres movement behind her, trending shows that. I think tomorrow night she will have a good night. We often say the president , the Republican Party is the party of trump. I mentioned it earlier, you once worked for mitt romney. Mitt romney voting to impeach the president and the president s subsequent attacks on him, does it matter to the republican voter . I cant speak to the republican voter at large, i can speak to this republican voter. Mitt romney is one of the most decent, honorable men i have known in my life, proud to have worked with him a number of years. I know the vote he took last week was a tough one and courageous one. I think in the party we need to be able to respect different viewpoints. The president is the president. The republicans will support him now, but theres another viewpoint, i think mitt reflected that last week and i admire him for it. Thank you for being here. One demographic that could decide the New Hampshire primary, and one aspect of the iowa caucus nobody is talking about that could spell doom for the democrats in november. Over 75 years of savings and service. We are hours away from the first votes in the New Hampshire primary as the candidates make a final bitch here. Theres one demographic that may be crucial to winning the granite state. Joining joining us, john, you are looking at young people and women. Why . Couple of reasons, one is that there will be more votes cast by people under the age of 30 than over the age of 65. Take a look at what happened last three primaries. They showed up in a little known fact from iowa caucus while everyone was trying to figure out who won and lost. One out of four votes in iowa were people under the age of 30. The share of people my age went down, share of people my kids age went up. Will Young Democrats be showing up, lucas . Absolutely. Theres always been a concerted effort on campuses within the Democratic Party and Interest Groups at large to talk to young voters, especially with a number of voting law changes in the state the past couple of years which invigorated a lot of College Students in New Hampshire to get involved in the process, understand the constitutional right to vote in the state. We should be expecting robust youth vote turnout tomorrow. For young voters, whats the priority, Young Democratic voters, to defeat donald trump or to break the system, change the system. If it is the latter, it doesnt necessarily sound like theyre going to show up for anybody if it is not senator sanders. I think a lot of young voters understand whats at stake in the election. We face a number of crises, whether it is climate change, creating an economy we can grow and thrive in, and heading to census year with redistricting. That will dictate the political power map of the country for the next decade. I think young voters while passionate tomorrow for the chosen candidate, i think they understand whats at stake. Will coalesce around the nominee. Can you speak to that, the Dime Store Psychology is young people are idealistic, but is that the case . Joe biden talks about the campaign as battle for the soul of the nation. This campaign is a battle for the soul of a generation. What i mean is about half of young voters can lockdown early for Bernie Sanders. Won half the youth vote in iowa, polls show he will win half the youth vote tomorrow, another half is out there searching for an alternative. I think theres a shared sense of concern over big structural issues that lucas raises, but the process to get there, the revolution versus evolution, thats where the campaign is going to well see who turns out. Buttigieg replaced warren in iowa with being second among young voters, first among older voters, second with younger voters. If he can put that generational coalition together tomorrow, hes going to be tough to compete with moving forward. Thats an important fact. People often say mayor buttigieg has the old supporters and Bernie Sanders has the young ones. We saw something more nuanced than that in iowa. One thing people like to ride the polar coasters. Thats the nerdiest word ever. I know. Even for young voters, as we head to tomorrow, theyre making up their mind. I think it is going to be interesting to see how the youth vote breaks out. Senator sanders is strong in the youth vote. Senator warrens campaign, mayor buttigiegs campaign, they have dedicated staffers across the state, have been investing in that investigation. Then next gen america are doing voter turnout on campuses. I think it will be a fluid process, will be a robust youth vote in the state. Last point . In addition to young voters, lets look at women. Buttigieg led among female voters in iowa, was leading heading into the weekend with women as well. Amy klobuchar had a strong performance. Lets keep a look how women break as well. Theres so much happening, momentum is not likely to slow down but speed up. If you know anything about New Hampshire, they like to surprise. John saved the segment. When you said polar coaster, were going to leave it there. More from New Hampshire. First, President Trump released his new budget and seems to contradict a promise he made six days ago. Watch this. I have also made an ironclad pledge to american families. We will always protect patients with preexisting conditions. And we will always protect your medicare, and we will always protect your Social Security. Always. The details are going to get you, according to the wall street journal, the president is proposing big spending cuts in those exact areas while increasing defense spending. Numbers from the office of management and budget indicate the president is proposing to cut medicare by 850 billion over the next ten years, and cut Social Security spending by 30 billion. Another 270 billion would come from medicaid. Those facts arent going anywhere. I promise you this, were going to cover them dayin and dayout, right here at 9 00 a. M. But now youve spent the last few days talking to voters on the ground. Explain the intersection of these two stories from your vantage point. Oddly enough i think theyre passing like ships in the night here, the expected effect that impeachment was going to have on the senators running for president hasnt really happened. You had Bernie Sanders almost winning the iowa caucuses. Hes in a strong position here. Elizabeth warren coming in third. Amy klobuchar who im covering today, having an obvious surge at the last minute. The idea that impeachment was going to derail interest in the democratic primary process does not seem to have had an effect to the degree that its mattered its seemed to matter to joe biden. Its just that the biden connection to the impeachment story, its just something they connect with trump and connect with something they dont necessarily want to be associated with anymore. Its not driving the voter turnout here. Folks seemed to have made the switch from that being a dominant story to now lets get done to business. Especially here in New Hampshire after the botched results at the end of iowa, New Hampshire voters were ready to pick up the baton and take this on as they do every four years. Almost turning their backs on the impeachment story altogether. Then maria theresa, did the president get his ultimate desired outcome, not just everything worked without the impeachment trial as far as the senate went, but that now joe biden is attached to this icky hunter Biden Ukraine situation. I mean, the irony of this, when you talk about grifters in the white house, its literally the president s children. But listen, lets set that aside. The problem he got exactly what he wanted. When people think of joe biden social media has had such a direct impact on tarnishing bidens name that we have not actually we have underreported in the news. A lot of them say but can he beat the hunter biden story talking about joe . These are people that were faithful to him. So what youre seeing right now is part of the fallout. Youre seeing the reason that Pete Buttigieg is rising and klobuchar is rising its the fallout of the hunter biden impeachment scandal that does not really exist. Garrett, when youre talking to voters on the ground, are they actually paying attention to the twitterverse . Because i have met your mom and dad, are they following this on twitter . They definitely vote, so do my parent, theyre not in the twitterverse. Theyre on facebook. No, and this point cannot be made often enough. The conversations on twitter and the conversations out here in the early states are often very different. Very different in all of the states. I mean, not to devalue there are Different Levels of conversations going on here. But we as journalists and our viewers involved in any step of the process needs to keep separate the twitter conversation and the conversations happening among actual voters around the country. Maria, no one can win the democratic nomination unless they get African American support. Obviously New Hampshire is super important. But given the two states were talking about New Hampshire and iowa, a large amount of black people arent even here to vote yet. Can we judge whos the right person . I think you hit the nail on the head. You have the democratic base, iowa and New Hampshire set the tone. But breakout stars have to wait later. The reason i say this, once you hit South Carolina, once you hit nevada you start seeing a reflection of the country. And secondly, lets not forget the last time white man voted for the president of the United States was lbj so the democrats actually need this Winning Coalition in order for them to move forward and its just definitely women and people of color. And young people. All right. Thank you both so much. Coming up in the next hour, West Virginia democrat senator manchin will be here to respond after President Trump blasted him as weak and pathetic for voting to impeach.
