The company may have paid to cover up a year ago. Come on, boys. Were going to begin this morning with President Trump publicly taking the side, are you ready for this, of roy moore after reportedly casting doubt on his accusers stories in private. According to politico, the president saw a parallel between moores situation and his own bout with Sexual Harassment allegations last fall. A lot of people saw that parallel and thought he was guilty. Ive got a great panel starting with nbcs Peter Alexander outside maralago in west palm beach, florida. Peter, please, this makes absolutely no sense to me. Tell me more about what the president had to say, because he did not need to weigh in on this thing. Reporter well, the bottom line is youre right, the president is breaking his silence now, defending roy moore. As you just noted, casting doubt on roy moores multiple accusers. This is a notable, a dramatic shift by this president just days after the white house insisted in fact that the white house, the president , would be leaving this decision to the people of alabama. Here is the president trying to tip the scales in support of the Republican Senate candidate in alabama, roy moore, and it notably comes against the tide of the republican establishment. Going against what weve heard from the Senate Majority leader, mitch mcconnell, paul ryan among others say moore should drop out. Even ivanka trump telling the Associated Press recently that there is a special place in hell for people who prey on children. The president noted the vigorous denials by moore as he was pressed on this issue by my colleague, kristen welker. Take a listen. We do not need somebody thats going to be bad on crime, bad on borders, bad with the military, bad for the second amendment. Mr. President , is an accused child molester better than a democrat . Is an accused child molester well, he denies it. Look, he denies it. If you look at what is really going on and you look at all the things that have happened over the last 48 hours, he totally denies it. Reporter notably politico also reporting on this. Lets pull up some of the details that they note. White house advisers say the president drew parallels between moores predicament and the one that he faced just over a year ago when trump was confronted by a long line of women who accused him of harassment. Among the other notable comments he made yesterday, he said that women are very special. That this was a special time. In his words he was very happy that so many women were now coming forward in the wake of all these new stories surrounding Sexual Harassment by powerful men across this country. The president also attacked doug jones as a liberal democrat, saying that his election would be unacceptable. He called him soft on crime. He said he wasnt tough on crime. Failing to recognize the fact that jones gets credit for helping prosecute two former kkk members for the bombing of a Baptist Church in alabama in 1963. We should note that the president also indicated that he may Still Campaign for moore less than three weeks until the special election in that state. He said hell let americans know at some point next week. Stephanie. Stunning. Bad on crime to the point peter just mentioned, went after klansmen. And the president drawing parallel its between roy moore and himself while at the same time applauding women for speaking out and then not believing those women. There are parallels. At this point those two men have over 20 women accusing them. Whats different is that President Trump on tape, lets never forget, said when youre a star, they let you do it. Meanwhile, nbcs Vaughn Hilliard is in huntsville, alabama, where voters are heading to the polls 20 days from now. Vaughn, where do things stand . For the president to come out like that is leading a lot of people to believe roy moore must be in very safe territory. Those must think hes going to win because why in gods name would President Trump put himself out there . Reporter yeah, it didnt take long for roy moore to capitalize off the president s statements. He tweeted out the video. He sent out an email blast to supporters with a link to the full Youtube Video clip there. Pretty much hes making the case donald trump won this state with the largest vote total for a republican in alabama history one yore ago. That access Hollywood Tape came out just a month before the election. Roy moore is looking at this, if he can poke enough holes in womens stories. Hes only trying to target two of the seven women seemingly to believe thats somehow going to bring down the whole plot against him. This was him yesterday. It seems like its become a blender of allegations and denials over the course of these two weeks from roy moore. It doesnt seem like theres much of a strategy. Last night suddenly he put out a tweet that he was appearing on this online show in three minutes. We turned on our computers and this is what we watched. Did you ever date or go out with underage women . No. No. Have you ever engaged in any Sexual Misconduct with any person . No. Its against the law and it would be wrong. Reporter it was just another denial. His first oncamera interview denial. I would be cautious to call this an interview. This is a former state senator and ally of his who didnt press him hard and go beyond about that ten seconds of questioning. The rest of it was talking about, you know, him and his candidacy. I do want to note where were in huntsville, though. We were here with doug jones yesterday. Doug jones, the democrat in this race, is actually campaigning. Last night he was at a local Baptist Church where he addressed more than 300 people. Huntsville went for donald trump. This is a fluent educated county that doug jones would need to chip into and siphon off some of that vote total from roy moore to pull off a victory in these three weeks. I want you to listen to pretty much the pitch that doug jones is making here to voters. I think we stand at a crossroads and trying to determine what kind of state that were going to be going forward, whether were going to take steps backward or whether were going to go forward and try to portray and show the country what we truly are as alabamians. A carriage peoping people, a loe that care about all people. Reporter doug jones may not be the most sexy candidate out here but as hes going across the state its an attempt to make a pitch to moderate republicans which roy moore hasnt been seen on the campaign trail since thursday. Stephanie. Hopefully you get home for thanksgiving. I want to bring in Michael Lupica and elise jordan, an msnbc political analyst and columnist for Time Magazine. A former advisor to senator rand paul. Elise, i really like talking to you on this topic because youre from the south, youre from mississippi. This morning i saw that the head of the young republicans from the state of alabama, jackie curtis, she came out and said politics aside, you have to put decency first. I cannot vote for roy moore. Whats the president doing . Well, im proud of the Younger Generation for showing leadership, and thats something that ive seen consistently in millenial focus groups that i have conducted with Lord Ashcroft polls in the United States is that Younger Voters are not as tolerant of the tribalism that says were supposed to disregard our conscience. Donald trump is speaking without any strategy. I see him going out and speaking on behalf of nothing but himself. Hes thinking of himself at the end of the day and his defense of roy moore im interpreting is a defense of donald trump when donald trump was himself accused of Sexual Misconduct. But if hes thinking of himself, why would he put himself in the line of fire right now . Yes, he was being criticized for being silent, but he is getting slammed. Put away what the media is saying, the risk hes taking putting himself out there and he has now put the accusations against him in focus. I just want to share what he said yesterday, because it is stunning. Listen to this. Not what he said yesterday, excuse me. This is donald trump, the words he used to defend himself, and then the words roy moore used to defend himself. Its stunning to me how similar they are. Watch this. Matters supposedly of a sexual impropriety which never happened, never would have happened. The stories are total fiction. Theyre 100 made up. They never happened. They never would happen. Theyre basically using the same playbook at a time when the president and everyone else in power is encouraging women to speak out. When you talked about more than 20 women have accused the president and roy moore, you come out of the banking business, so you understand statistics and probabilities. What are the odds that all 20 of these women are making these stories up . And for him to come out and essentially defend roy moore stephanie, this is a guy who clearly looked at custody hearings and dance recitals as mixers back when dance recitals where he had no family members, he had no reason to be let me tell you, my husband doesnt even want to go to dance recitals that our children were in. What would a grown man be doing at a dance recital. Hes now thrown down at it. Well, he denies it. That sounds like charlottesville, theres blame on many sides. No, theres not. A denial is not enough. The wisdom on this comes from the marx brothers, who are you going to believe, me or your lying eyes. I find this so who are the three people . Its roy moore, steve bannon and donald trump who are on a Team Together who thought this was a great idea. Even ivanka, the one person who i think the president never goes against, went outside the box for her and said i have no reason not to believe the accusers. Well, and now doug jones is raking in the fundraising dollars. His ads are all over the air waves in alabama, and a key ad with ivanka trump saying that theres a special place in hell for those who abuse children. Also uses a quote, the ad uses the quote very effectively with senator Richard Shelby and senator Jeff Sessions saying that they believe the women. So you have that as the ad that the democrats are weaponizing against roy moore and the Republican Party right now in alabama. All right. Were going to talk about a different story. Veteran broadcaster charlie rose, a legend, an icon, has been fired by cbs and his relationship with pbs and bloomberg terminated, all less than 24 hours after he was accused of Sexual Misconduct with eight women. Since then, more women have accused rose of inappropriate behavior, including a former intern who told her story to nbc. Stephanie gosk is with me now. Stephanie, for so many of us, i mean charlie is a good friend of mine, as is his producer, yvette vega. This is a stunning time. Its like two charlies, someone we didnt know, an icon, a legend. Youve watched charlie rose on tv for years. When you sat across from his accuser, what did you learn . What was going through your mind . This is an interesting story and pretty reflective of what weve already heard in the Washington Post. This is a woman, sarah gordon, who in 2002 wanted to intern on the charlie rose show. Wanted to become a journalist, had a lot of respect for him, looked up to him. She got that internship, which was a prize internship at the time. Joined them and one of the things that she was asked to do one night was bring charlie rose his mail over to his apartment. And listen to what she said happened. I knocked and he had said come in. I proceeded to go into the living room and he said i want to show you this scene from this movie, and he said have a seat, you know, relax. And he proceeded to turn on the film secretary which is a sexually involved film involving s m, unfortunately. And he asked me how does this make you feel . You know, does it turn you on, that kind of stuff. Now, gordon told us that he never touched her and she left, feeling very uncomfortable. But consider this just for a moment. A young woman, just out of school, wants this internship, is excited to be there, has a lot of respect for the business, thinks that she wants to get into the business and this is one of her first experiences in that world. Its deflating. Its deflating to hear, its deflating for me being a journalist and working in tv news. This is tough stuff for all of us. Its crushing. Listen, weve seen media analysts in the last day say, wow, look at the talent drain thats happened as a result of this. Men in journalism and meade and entertainment. Think about all the women who could have had brilliant careers and their dreams and goals out the window when they experienced Something Like that. I want to bring my panel back. Michael and elise. Michael, what is your take on all of this . What sarah gordon experienced, the movie the secretary is about a powerful man, you know, playing some sort of sexually abusive mind games with a young, beautiful woman. Clearly you all didnt buy into the presence of what a special time it is for women in america yesterday. Theres a pathology at work here that we see played out again and again and again with powerful men. And i dont know how to describe it except to say they want what they want when they want it. And i pointed this out to a friend of mine yesterday, a male friend, and he said and how they want it. And this has played out over a long time. In a culture that got embedded in the system, especially in the world of the media. But any world that involves powerful men and a young woman who as stephanie said was just looking to get a foot in the door. Then they step inside the doror of an apartment like this and get an ugly look down the rabbit hole of what this world looks like. One of the things that sarah gordon told us was that among the interns on the show, this had become a kind of joke. And think about the newsroom that we work in and the industries that you work in. If all of the interns know whats going on, what are the chances the rest of the staff isnt fully aware of whats going on . And is it a joke to them . Just that word, a joke, is deeply upsetting. Thats deeply upsetting, but also this idea that, you know, when you hear from some of these men, well, i thought maybe it was consensual. Thought it was consensual . Yes, maybe these young women didnt run out of the building screaming because these are their dream jobs. Theyre dying to be in this industry, and they simply dont know what to do. Theyre paralyzed. I need to turn, though, to john conyers because this story kills me. Longtime democratic congressman. Again, another Senior Citizen. The Senior Citizen factor blows my mind on this. Dont knees old guys have anything ready to do . Hes admitted to using taxpayers dollars from the state of michigan, remember flint, michigan, that still doesnt have clean water, in a settlement with a woman who accused him of Sexual Misconduct. He insists he did nothing wrong but says the settlement did happen. The Detroit Free Press called on him to step down saying even if coniers could prove that he did not make inappropriate advances towards his former staffer, theres no defense for having used dollars from his Congressional Office to settle a claim. Elise jordan, i turn to you good for the Detroit Free Press for saying he should resign. Why arent democratic leadership where are the cries from other democrats saying this is insane that taxpayer dollars are going for these coverups. Because those democrats cant scream that, nor can republicans, because the system is built to take this money from this fund. While conyers may be morally corrupt that he took the money, the system is built that way. Many people voted for President Trump because they said im sick of washington, i want something else. This kind of Congressional Fund is the exact kind of thing people assumed this administration would find out about, tear up and say youve got to be kidding me. Its the ole al pacino line, youre out of order. Youre all out of order. The system isnt holding right now. You wonder why people in this country have less confidence in their government than ever before . You look at the case of poor old john conyers, and im not saying that in any sympathetic he goes now. He goes. He has as much a place in the congress of the United States as judge roy moore does. Michael, i say its more than that, not just john conyers, walk us through who set this fund up. Who else has used it . Why is it still in place . Because taxpayer dollars should never go to Something Like this. Right, right. Its hush money and a slush fund. Stunning. All right, thank you, all. Were going to take a break. Coming up, an intense rescue operation happening right now off the coast of japan after a u. S. Navy plane carrying 11 crew members crashed into the sea overnight. Weve got the latest on the frantic search for survivors. First, some sad news, very sad news, especially if you watched a lot of tv when you were young like me in the entertainment world. Part rridge family superstar dad cassidy has passed away from organ failure. He was just 67 years old. He battled a string of Health Issues and struggles with alcohol abuse, revealing last year that he was diagnosed with dementia. Man, every day after swim team practice, i watched the Partridge Family and i loved it. You owned your car for four years. You named it brad. You loved brad. And then you totaled him. You two had been through everything together. Two boyfriends, three jobs. Youre like nothing can replace brad. Then Liberty Mutual calls. And you break into your happy dance. If you sign up for better car replacement™, well pay for a car thats a model year newer with 15,000 fewer miles than your old one. Liberty stands with you™. Liberty mutual insurance. Was supposed to be a wake reup call for our government . Sh people all across the country lost their savings, their pensions and their jobs. Im tom steyer and it turned out that the system that had benefited people like me who are well off, was, in fact, stacked against everyone else. Its why i left my Investment Firm and resolved to use my savings for the public good. But here we are nine years later and this president and the Republican Congress are making a bad situation even worse. They wont tell you that their so called tax reform plan is really for the wealthy and big corporations, while hurting the middle class. It blows up the deficit and that means fewer investments in education, health care and job creation. Its up to all of us to stand up to this president. Not just for impeachable offenses, but also to demand a country where everyone has a real chance to succeed. Join us. Your voice matters. Welcome back, im stephanie ruhle. A search and rescue effort is under way for three missing people after a u. S. Navy plane crashed off the coast of japan early this morning. The navy says eight others have been rescued and are in good condition. President trump tweeting this morning that hes monitoring the situation and asking for prayers. Nbc National Security reporter Courtney Kube joins me now. Courtney, this is not the first incident involving the navy this year. What happened . Sadly, no. This area known as the u. S. Navys seventh fleet in asia has been plagued with some terrible accidents this year. The uss fitzgerald, the uss mccain which both led to numerous u. S. Navy sailors being killed and injured. Today what were looking at, though, is a c2 plane, commonly referred to as a cod. Its a twinengine propeller plane that takes off and lands on an aircraft carrier. It generally brings mail and people on and off a u. S. Aircraft carrier. It was on its way earlier this morning out to the uss Ronald Reagan when it went into the water. As you said, there were 11 u. S. Military Service Members onboard at the time. Eight have been rescued and there is still a frantic search for the other three Service Members, who were onboard. We dont yet know the identities of any of the 11 Service Members, but the u. S. Navy is insistent that they are continuing to look for these men and women, these individuals. I will say ive been on a cod numerous times. Its an unusual plane to fly on. You fly backwards. There are only two very small windows on the plane, so its dark when youre flying. And because of the nature of what it does, landing and taking off from an aircraft carrier, which means its a catapult takeoff, when it takes off off the carrier, you are tightly strapped isnt and everyone onboard has to wear both cranial, which is a head protector, some sort of head protection, and you have to wear an inflatable life vest. So its an snushl aircraft to be on, but as i said, stephanie, the search continues for the three additional people that are still missing. This story so upsetting. Thanks for joining me this morning, court kn morning, courtney. Our own hugh hewitt interve w interviews Hillary Clinton. First, yesterday President Trump pardoned two turkeys in the annual thanksgiving tradition, but jimmy fallon found the Selection Process a little off. The white house tweeted out a poll asking people which turkey should be pardoned. Leave it to trump to turn a fun annual tradition into sophies choice. Only one can live and it will be on your hands. Its a small finger. A worm like, a dagger . A tiny sword . Bread. Breadstick . A matchstick a lamppost coin slot no . Uhhh. 10 seconds. A stick a Walking Stick eiffel tower, Mount Kilimanjaro ding time sorry, its a tandem bicycle. What . What . as long as sloths are slow, you can count on geico saving folks money. Fifteen minutes could save you fifteen percent or more on car insurance. Welcome back. Im stephanie ruhle. Time now for your morning primer, everything you need to know to start your day. We begin with hundreds of victims of the Las Vegas Mass Shooting filing multiple lawsuits against owner of the Mandalay Bay Hotel and organizers of the Country Music festival. The suits argue hotel and concert officials didnt do enough to prevent the shooting that left 58 people dead in october. The Washington Post reports three military personnel have been reassigned from their positions at the white house after allegedly having improper contact with foreign women during President Trumps recent asia trip. And a second federal judge has blocked President Trumps order banning transgender people from serving in the military. The judge ruled that the order was unconstitutional. And the u. N. Has released dramatic new video. Youve got to see this thing, of a north korean soldier trying to escape the isolated country. The security footage shown on your screen shows the soldier racing to the border in a jeep and then on foot before being shot at least five times. The soldier was then dragged to safety by a south korean soldier. And meg whitman is stepping down as the ceo of hewlettpackard Enterprises Just a few months after she insisted she has no plans to leave. The Company Stock fell more than 6 in afterhours trading following the news. Were all wondering what is she going to do next . And in a new and revealing interview, youve got to see this thing, Hillary Clinton speaking candidly to msnbc political analyst and host, hugh hewitt, saying president obamas record made it hard for her to run as a, quote, agent of change. Listen. I think it is fair to say that it was hard to break through. Maybe some of that is on my shoulders and perhaps some because of the campaign as well. But it is true that when you run to succeed a twoterm president of your own party, you have a historical headwind blowing against you. There you have that. Joining me now, hugh hewitt. Hugh, what did you make of her response to that . Well, i was surprised that she was so candid, stephanie. It was surprising that she would do 45 minutes with me to begin with, but in that to be so candid on so many points about how maybe her team full of president obama alums held her back from arguing for change and from pointing out the holes in the obama record. She might have been a little bit leftbrained in the campaign as opposed to rightbrained. It is true that nixon couldnt succeed eisenhower, humphrey couldnt pick up the kennedyjohnson two terms. Al gore couldnt and Hillary Clinton couldnt follow barack obama. So its very hard. But she and i had a long conversation about the campaign and about her book, what happened which Time Magazine calls the most important book of 2017. I found the book engrossing and riti riveting. I disagree with a lot of it. But i was surprised that she was so forthcoming about the fact trying to run as a continuity candidate with president obama put her in a bind. Something stuck out. You asked her about being too guarded and protective during the Campaign Last year, and i want to share some of that because we know that Hillary Clinton is a very guarded, calculating person. But compared to trump, all of us are guarded, so take a look. Well, let me answer that this way, hugh. I think, as i say about the book, i did think that i had to be careful in public and probably i did have my guard up too much. You know, those days are over. Had she not been so guarded, do you think things would have come out different . Yeah. In fact i do. Really . President trump came on my radio show 15 times, stephanie, 15 times. He went on cnn, msnbc, he went anywhere and talked to anyone and swung from the hips and there was so much information he flooded the zone. Secretary clinton never came on my or any other conservative show. We talked about the fact that she stayed away from what i call responsible conservative media. People of integrity. Interviews are not debates. Theyre ask a question, hear what the person says, ask another question and dont debate the answer. There are lots of us that do that in center right media and conservative media. Had she played on some of the opposing fields, i think she would have won because i would have asked her about the ohio class replacement, the columbia class or about burma or the stuff as i did with President Trump. He got befuddled a few times with me but he kept coming back. I think the American People like candidates who engage the other side. I think in 2020 youre going to see a lot more democrats doing a lot more conservative talk radio, if its professional and done with courtesy. You know, i think youre absolutely right. And i want to share, because you asked her if she ever listened to conservative talk radio during the election, and i think its so important because right now so many of us are only following listening to that echo chamber that supports our existing views. And i want to share what she said. I understand the anger. I understand the resentment. I understand the very strong feelings that a lot of people in our country have about everything from the economy to race to immigration to national defense. But and this is probably another one of my shortcomings, you know, ive never thought anger was a good strategy for actually getting things done. Do you believe she thought that or empathizes with people who felt that. I go back when President Trump was out there on the road going to faroff places that Hillary Clinton and even president obama didnt visit. And while President Trump might fail those forgotten americans now, at the time he made them feel like he cared and he listened. Yeah, President Trump went to minnesota the weekend before the election. I thought that was an astonishing dumb thing to do but it turned out to be brilliant because he was actually messaging into wisconsin. He went everywhere, always working 24 7 to get people to listen to him. Secretary clinton played a very controlled game because we all thought she was going to win. She writes that in what happened, stephanie. But the one thing is she played a controlled game but she played a responsible game and she didnt get over her skis and President Trump did go out there and pledge and promise things that here we are dealing with this administration, things that were never going to see come to fruition. Well, lets not say never because i think were going to get tax reform and i know the market is at an alltime high and he does things in a very different way. Hugh, the market was at an alltime high when president obama was in office and President Trump thrashed it and trashed it and called it a bubble. The market being at an alltime high impacts those who are invested in the market, not the forgotten americans who President Trump was visiting in places like minnesota. But the jobs that will come, for example, to wisconsin if foxconn builds there. And lets remind them they have pledged to build a Massive Development in pennsylvania, five, six years ago and have yet to do that. The tax breaks wisconsin are going to get are going to break any record you have ever seen in that state. I agree, but theyre only going to build it there if we get the corporate rate down to 20 in this tax bill that we debate next week. My point being, though, President Trump never stopped working. As you point out, secretary clinton took three weeks off. If she had been dialing into radio shows like mine, the margin was very small, like 70,000 votes that could have switched the four states. A lot of my conservative radio talk show host audience very impressed with her today, answering questions about benghazi, about her server, put respectfully but directly by a member of the loyal opposition to her party. Thats what we need in the country, stephanie, we need people old school who sit down and talk to each other and listen to the other side and answer their questions as opposed to talking points. Im with you. We need Straight Talk but we also need promises that get delivered upon. If you want to see the whole interview, hugh hewitt this saturday at 8 00 eastern right here on msnbc. Thanks so much. Happy thanksgiving, hugh. Thanks, stephanie. Happy thanksgiving to you. Up next, weve got to talk about this. Another black eye for uber. Are you boys kidding me . Hacked, with information on 57 million riders and drivers exposed. But guess what, it happened a year ago and were only finding out about it now. Why . Because the executives covered it up. We have got to talk about uber. Uber now just revealing a massive data breach that exposed the personal information of 57 million drivers and customers. One full year after the incident happened. The ridehailing company paid hackers 100 grand last october to keep the hack under wraps. I want to bring in Public Relations expert. This is a clear case the coverup is worse than the crime. They paid the hackers 100 grand and the hackers promised to delete the information. We dont even know if they did. And now the new ceo comes in, finds out, fires the head of security and says, im sorry, were going to tighten up the process. This isnt going to happen again. But again, covering up, this is like my kids, when they lie. Weve south dakota ovaid over a needs adults in the room. The moral and ethical is shown by what happens under crisis. They now have a new ceo and the first ever chief brand officer in a celebrated, seasoned marketing strategist. She is the bomb. Amazing. And so uber revealed eight new cultural norms of the organization. So we should now begin to see a difference in the way that theyre handling crisis. They got the same board. They have got the same board but they have new leadership and they have new, strong leadership. Theyre already revealing and showing that theyre taking measures. First off, the statement from the ceo was very transparent. He came forward, he took ownership, he wrote a personal statement. And he wrote a statement speaking about how they werent going to tolerate certain breaches and a certain culture, which is very courageous of them to do. In this day and age were living in, age of technology, currency and Consumer Information is the highest currency, period. It needs to be fiercely protected. So for them to come forward and offer some sort of security theft for its drivers and its customers is very important. Weve seen uber do that. More importantly, this is going to happen. It happened at equifax, it happened at yahoo and its going to continue to happen and corporations need to be aware, but more importantly, the hiding is concerning because customers need to know. They need to know in advance to be able to protect themselves. They need to know to be able to be, you know, aware of what could potentially happen. So its very dangerous when a company hides it. And so we need to watch uber closely now to see how they act now that they have this information. But does it actually impact Customer Behavior . Uber has gone through a terrible run. Travis is out, but the company is still valued at 50 billion. People are still getting up and ubering. Does it really change how much we use the product . It doesnt change how much we use the product if we dont see a change in the company culture. Again, by them addressing it head on when they found out about it, travis knew about it but the new leadership, were not sure when they knew. But we do know that the minute they became aware of it, they came forward they had no reason to cover it up. No reason to cover it up. If youre the new ceo, you want to make it clear. Heres all the bad things that happened. Not on my watch. Exactly. We see them doing that so we should stand by uber, watch and see how they take control of this situation. They got a new team. Yeah. Give them a shot. Thank you so much. Up next, President Trump with a series of tweets this morning going after the father, not just the father, quite a notorious one of one of the ucla players detained in china over a lack of gratitude. Are there any winners in this war of words . Remember, tomorrow is thanksgiving. Things than rheumatiod arthritis. President trump up early this morning tweeting about a lack of gratitude on the day before thanksgiving. The president tweeting once again about the recent release of liangelo ball and two other ucla basketball players after the trio were arrested in china for stealing. Balls father, a notorious character, a personality, ill just say, lavar ball, refused to thank President Trump for helping secure the players release, so trump tweeted this. Quote, it wasnt the white house, it wasnt the state department, it wasnt father lavars socalled people on the ground in china that got his son out of longterm prison sentence, it was me. Too bad. Lavars just a poor mans version of don king without the hair. Just think lavar, you could have spent the next five to ten years with thanksgiving in your son in china with your nba contract to support you. Remember, lavar, shoplifting is not a little thing. Its a big deal. Ungrateful fool. Thanks for the 280 characters. Michael, elise, whats your take, miguel . Trump and lavar ball are kind of different sides of the same coin, okay . If trump had grown up. A bad penny . If trump had grown up in lavar sirgz he would have been lavar and if lavar had grown up rich and white in new york city he might be president now. Its like listening to a fight between the two loudest guys in the bar. In one serious note, a navy plane went down in the middle of the night and three people on that plane are still missing and i woke up this morning and saw tweets about lavar ball before i saw a tweet about that, the plane. It is a really good point. It makes donald trump so happy to be able to have this kind of dumb fight. He loves a pointless culture war. He loves, especially, pitting himself against black athletes which has racial connotations and in the wake of his comments from charlottesville, you would think that the guy that the president , perhaps, could handle himself with a little bit more dignity. The nfl anthem, the nfl kneeling, that is his absolute favorite cultural war. He also went back to that again this morning. He went after steph curry, mvp, a family man, a religious guy, President Trump went so far to write his name out of spite. Steph curry didnt want to go to the white house after the Golden State Warriors won the championship. President trump didnt have anything to say when tom brady didnt go to the white house. Tom brady didnt go because his mother, unfortunately, was sick, but michael, doesnt this sort of hold on help President Trump he loves these fights and lavar ball is giving in to him. At the end of the day, whether President Trump did a little, a lot or nothing, lavar balls son is home and that is a good thing and we can take thafrpgz and move on. You dont need to have this no, no. Steph, you look at this fight between lavar ball and the president of the United States, its hard to find a way to root in this fight, okay, bought in the original fallout from this story, yeah, the father should have thanked him for getting these three knuckle heads from ucla back. It costs you nothing to say thank you. They both are behaving without any class or dignity, both of them are in the wrong here. Play this out, what trump is really saying. I will help these three young men come back to the United States and not go to jail unless the father isnt grateful enough afterwards in which case then i have to turn the whole thing into midnight express. Michael, its gross, grotesque, that you have to thank me, honor, me, just move on. Thats not who the old man is. It made your hair hurt watching him the other night just continue to power through and keep talking. Not if your lavar ball. If you were lavar ball, we were saying old big ballers, right, left and center. It was great for his brand. Hes creating the lavar ball Kris Jenner Kardashian train. People in new york are going, who is lavar ball, this basketball dad . Lavar loves it. I see a potential for a Marketing Union between the Big Baller Brand and the big trumper brand and at some point, trump stakes in trump water and the 495 sneakers could be all marketed in the same way. Stephanie, im telling you its a dumb playground fight. Thats all it is. But whos is it really helping lavar ball all that much and if trump is being helped here, by whom . Who thinks that this is a good thing for him to be in this sort of war with the father of three basketball players . I doubt this war will ever end. They deserve each other and theyll keep it going. Bill baller, big trump, one of you, please, be the bigger man. Its thanksgiving. Lets move on. Coming up, much more on the latest accusations against roy moore and congressman john conyers.
