Deja vu all over again. Ed, you know, hed run the most hateful divisive bigoted campaign ive ever seen in virginia history. Donald trumpstyle politics doesnt work here in virginia. We begin with the massacre at a texas church and word the gunman should never have had a gun in the first place, let alone an assault rifle. A Domestic Abuse conviction while in the air force should have been a red flag. But that information apparently fell through the cracks. We have a great team to break it all down. Starting with my friend nbc justice correspondent pete williams. Pete, i want to start by playing part of what we heard from u. S. Air force secretary Heather Wilson on cnbc earlier today. Initiated a review in the air force to find out why his fingerprint records were not transmitted to the database and well find out why. Have you thought about whether the air force will have to accept some form of liability from the families as a result of this . Im more interested in responsibility. Weve taken responsibility. Were going to find out what happened and fix it. All right, pete, can you explain, these red flaggings that should have prevented the gunman from getting weapons . How do they work . Well, there are two here. Neither were in the database. The fbi has said there was no derogatory, as they described it, no prohibiting information when the fbi did the background check. Every time that kelley bought guns, and there were four years in a row he bought one gun a year. He bought the assault weapon used in the Church Shooting last year. Two things, one is the Domestic Violence conviction. He was convicted of assaulting his wife and infant son, hitting the son so hard that he actually fractured the infants skull. He served a year in detention. And thats the point thats the first point. The second point is he was subject to a proceeding in the military called a General Court marshal. Now, thats sort of like the most serious form of trial in the military. And what the atf regulations say is theres a question when you go out to fill out to buy a gun, you have to fill out this form. Theres a question, have you ever been convicted in any court of a felony. Thats a second prohibitive thing. Then it has instructions for military people. It says you have to answer yes if you ever were convicted before a General Courtmartial. He was. So there are two reasons why he was prohibited from making these gun purchases but they never made it into the Background Information that the fbi would have consulted. By the way, stephanie, we learned a little more about the firepower that he carried into that church. The authorities now say they found 15 empty 30 round magazines. That means he fired at least 450 rounds. My god, 450 rounds. A man who never should have had a gun. I think its stunning that after he assaulted his wife, went to detention, fractured her 1yearolds skull, someone else married him. I want to bring in msnbcs mariana artencio who is at the scene in texas. Where do things stand this morning . It is devastated, and officials are telling us this morning the scene behind me, the First Baptist church here in southern springs texas has been processed. All bodies have been removed and taken to the medical Examiners Office for autopsies. As we heard from our pete williams, they collected hundreds of shell casings. Approximately 50 magazines including 30round capacity magazines. Just give also you a sense of the suspected gunman, devin kelley, planned to do what he he walked from the gas station that is over to my right, cross the 87 highway over here behind me and opened fire on that church. Youll remember, stephanie, after he opened fire, he was confronted by two Good Samaritans. There was a shootout in that small street behind me across the 87th highway. He sustained, now we now after the autopsy, three gunshot wounds, one to the leg and torso inflicted by these Good Samaritans and then one to the head which was selfinflicted and most likely the one that killed him. I want to play a sound bite for you from steven, one of these two local heroes, about how he feels after what happened. Lets listen. Im no hero. I am not. I think my god, my lord protected me and gave me the skills to do what needed to be done, and i just wish i could have gotten there faster. Stuffephanie, authorities to us yesterday since the gunman had multiple other weapons in his vehicle, it is likely these two Good Samaritans possibly impeded him from killing more people. Finally, i want to give you an update on the victims. We know that 26 people died, around 20 were injured. Still four are in serious condition. Ten are in critical condition. Thankfully for this town and for the country frankly the number of deceased has not changed at this point in the morning. Were still waiting to get that full list of names as they continue to identify the victims and notify next of kin in the coming hours, stephanie. Number hasnt gone up but that number, 26, devastating. Mariana, thank you so much. Were going to take a turn to another huge story were following right now. Several key new developments in the russia investigation. You know the one the president keeps calling a hoax. Lets get to ken delaney. President trumps longtime body guy, Keith Schiller who left the job a couple of months ago, hes testifying today. What are they going to ask him . You know its got to be did you run the oval office. Good morning, stephanie. Keith schiller was his longtime bodyguard and nobody knows more about Donald Trumps movements, his meetings, perhaps his private utterances, than Keith Schiller. I can think of two episodes in particular that the lawmakers are going to want to ask schiller about. One would be that june 2016 meeting in trump tower that don sqr hosted with those russians. Its been reported that donald trump was in the tower that day. You imagine they want to ask did donald trump meet with his son after that meeting, by any chance did the russians bum noop donald trump . Theres been no reporting of that but the question will be asked. The other thing im sure theyll ask him about is of course the 2013 trump to moscow where donald trump was hosting the Miss Universe pageant. The most salacious allegations have to do with that trip and you can imagine schiller will be asked. I dont want to hear the answers. That trump tower meeting, that was a meeting about the orphans, right . Right, no orphans. Talk to me about carter page. I mean, when i have gone through first of all, the fake we continue to call him just a volunteer. Carter page whos an adviser, a member of the Trump Campaign team, who goes and sits down, again, with no lawyer, im stunned when he does it with chris hayes and, boom, he does it in front of lawmakers. What did we learn . Well, we learned some very important things actually. Its long been known that carter page took this trip to moscow in july 2016. He was a Trump Campaign Foreign Policy adviser at the time. What he testified in the transcript that was released last night is that he cleared this trip with senior officials in the campaign, including Corey Lewandowski who was then the Campaign Manager and the person who is now director of communications, at the white house. Help said he said he was taking trip. And when he got back, he sent an email to another trump official j. D. Gordon talking about the great insights he learned from meeting with russian legislators and members of the putin administration. So its pretty clear that carter page, like george papadopoulos, was a volunteer Campaign Adviser the russians were trying to cut valt and senior members of the Trump Campaign knew about it. Senior members knew about it, but also didnt carter page all along he was sort of saying he was there giving a speech, talking to a man on the street, that wasnt thes. No, no, no, he had and hes been forced to acknowledge that he had encounters with senior russian officials. Now, he continues to say this was meaningless and it wasnt about collusion and the things it said about him in the dossier are not true but nonetheless the account has significantly changed from when we first heard about this trip. Ken, thank you so much. I need my panel. Vanity fair special correspondent my friend bill cohen and msnbc contributor and executive editor of Bloomberg View tim obrien. You know what im going to start with, will burr ross. But, i mean, across the board, President Trump can say russia, hoax, no connections, no connections, but whether we go will burr ross, don jr. , Paul Manafort. The list goes on and on. The amount of connectionings are st connections are stunning. He clearly disclosed he shared business interests with Vladimir Putins immediate family and denied any investigative report that concealed ties. Reports came out over the last few days, my god, wilbur ross who owns a stake of the bank of cyprus where Paul Manafort could have laundered money through. Is he innocent here . Well, innocent, i mean, you know, are people even found innocent . Is he not guilty . Did he commit a crime . Look, ive known wilbur ross for 30 years. Ive worked with him. He has been a showman conman for 30 years. A great piece in forbes this morning about how he conned and lied to i guess is the word the forbes used, lied to him about his net worth for his own financial benefit so, you know, this is a guy who, you know, cheated his own limited partners in his private equity firm. Took fees that he was not entitled to and had an sec settlement related to that. None of this came out during his confirmation hearing. Again, hes rubber stamping these guys who basically shouldnt be there in the first place, who are only there to get the significant tax deferral benefit they get from converting whatever fortune they had into tax into u. S. Treasury bonds on a tax deferred basis. Stunning. We do have to share, ross spoke to cnbc yesterday and this is what he said. Theres nothing wrong with it at all. I think its just an example of the press trying to find anything they can however remote or silly to attack the president and somehow link him to russia. This is nonsense. Nonsense. Secretary ross adds and he claims that he did properly disclose that ties were, quote, totally incorrect, but the investigative report says his Financial Disclosure form contained only partial information and didnt make it clear that he was retaining ownership of a company that had a close business relationship with russian leadership, ie, he owned part of a relationship, he owned part of a company with Vladimir Putins soninlaw, bestybesty. At the end of the day, are we going to look at these papers and say theyre wildly unethical, this is sicken, its revolting, but will it have been legal . Well, all of its legal. But thats the kind of conundrum were in now, stephanie. Because this is the conflicts of interests presidency. Youve got trump himself whos retained all these business interests. And its not illegal for him to do it. Its been a matter of decorum essentially for the president to distance himself historically from these kinds of holdings but trump hasnt so why wouldnt but hes the president. Well, i mean, ross decided to hold on to what he had. I think he should have cleared the decks. Appearances matter. The appearances in this are bad. I hate to be the kind of bad guest at the party though. I think theres a lot of problems in the fact pattern surrounding both carter paige and wilbur ross in terms of this investigation getting closer to the president. Carter page, to use the president s own lexicon, is a whack job. If you read through his testimony i mean, that fishing hat he wears around washington. Right, and hes changed his story a million times. Hes nonlinear, to put it politely, in the way he describes his interactions with the russians and with the Trump Campaign. He fills in little gaps in the time line. I think ross is a more substantive problem for the Trump Administration around conflicts of interest. But whether or not it was illegal is a very debatable point. A lot of the stuff he was doing was perfectly legal. So thats it, a lot of the stuff he was doing may be unethical, it may be wall streets sleazyist, but it was legal. Youve got bloomen thul earlier calling for ross to resign. Hes not going to resign. No, wilbur is a fighter, an amazing fight effort. He comes across as sort of this evunkular guy who wouldnt hurt a flea but hes been a fighter forever. Hes not going down without a fight. I go back, if i may please. To something don jr. Once talked about which is all the business dealings he and his family said it at a real estate conference. Donald trump has disclosed nothing on his disclosure form about any business ties with russia. I am willing to say that at this point theres no going on financially between donald trump and russia than we know about and thats been disclosed and this is going to be his achilles heel. Im going to depart on this. I actually think the whole notion of trump having deep Business Investments inside of russia no, no, no, no money, financing. No one ever thought trump put his money in russia because no one thought he had a lot to invest. Lets go back to what donald trump jr. Actually said in the event that everyone quotes. He said most of our assets are russian. And what he meant was most of the buyers that of the condos are russian. Thats true of every highend Real Estate Developer in the world. These are people buying condos okay, heres where im going to depart from you though. I interviewed Steve Schwartzman of blackman several years ago in davos. This is a time when people were doing business with russia. Steve schwartzman, close adviser to the president , said we dont do business with or in russia because we dont trust the rule of law. After the russia crash in 1999, most banks left russia and didnt go back because you cannot do business there, you cant trust them. Right. President trump did. So he could be on the hook. He could be President Trump was in business with career criminals of russian descent in the united states, so theres no question theres an issue here. I think the media has been imprecise and quick to grab at straws in trying to figure out what the exact fact pattern around that is. I agree with you. Bob mueller wont make that mistake. Bob mueller is going to be digging this up. Theres a fundamental reason that President Trump defers on a regular basis to Vladimir Putin and were going to soon find that out i hope. All right then. Extraordinary. All right, were going to take a break. What a good conversation. Coming up, the president has so many tough words for north korea as he speaks just across the border during his asia tour. Were going to have the latest from seoul next. First, we just talked about the latest ties between the Trump Administration and russia. Guess who weighed in . Seth meyers suspects there might be one more. I really believe that it makes sense for north korea to come to the table and to make a deal thats good for the people of north korea and the people of the world. I do see certain movement, yes. But lets see what happens. President trump taking a new tune. President trump in seoul, south korea, today, clearly a different tone on north korea and urging kim jongun to come to the negotiating table at a joint press conference with president moon from south korea. Nbcs Peter Alexander in seoul. I didnt hear little rocketman, no calling anybody unhinged. This is sort of president tru trumps rap. S when when hes up close and personal, he plays nice. The president just wrapping up a state dinner here, the first u. S. President to visit this country in 25 years. It was a more conciliatory, more moderate tone. No rocket nooman, no threatenino destroy north korea. The president said his willingness to use overwhelming force is, well, he says its paying dividends, hes seeing signs of progress, lots of progress he suggested. There are three u. S. Aircraft carriers as well as a nuclear submarine. Heres how he referred to his past threats and his hopes for the future. Take a listen. We have many things happening that we hope we hope in fact, ill go a step further, we hope to god we never have to use. So that was the president just a short time ago as he was speaking alongside president moon jaein, the south korean president. The south Korean People and, frankly, the president , have had a very different view than President Trump. Theyre not always comfortable with his combative tone to north korea. Were barely 35 miles away from the border. The president did make some news, youll remember, a matter of weeks ago when Rex Tillerson was in this region, President Trump said that any american effort to have direct talks with north korea was, in his words, a waste of time. Today, as you heard from the clip you played, he is not ruling that out. The president is going to be delivering what is in effect the hallmark speech of this 12day, 5nation asian tour tomorrow when he speaks before the national assembly. Well be watching very closely. But, again, as you indicated, fierce rhetoric back on american soil but here in the region, a little bit more cautious with his language, but, again, praising his strategy, suggesting that it is showing signs of progress. Progress certainly what we need. All right, Peter Alexander, joining us from seoul, peters stay safe. Next, voters across the country heading to the polls today. Were going to tell you what races to watch and how today could change the rest of President Trumps tenure, but first, i want you to watch this video. I know airline prices are high, but dont do this. I hope my sons arent watching. The miami herald posted a video of a man at Miami International airport who is pretending to talk on his phone before he actually climbed on the baggage conveyer belt and decided to go for a ride. He eventually made it on to the tarmac where, no surprise, he was tackled and taken into custody. I dont want to laugh too hard. Maybe this man is sick. Thats honestly something my sons would do. Look at this. Why would he decide to do that . I mean, thats another level. avo when you have type 2 diabetes, you manage your a1c, but you also have a higher risk of heart attack or stroke. New details about the bizarre attack that left republican senator rand paul with five ribs broken. This story gets me. A source tells nbc news that Renee Boucher attacked the senator from behind while he was mowing his lawn because of disagreements over politics and property lines. Im going to say we need to stay on that story. Five ribs, five ribs broken over lawn mowing . Mm. And disgraced former congressman Anthony Weiner is now behind bars. Weiner reported to a federal prison on monday to begin his 21month sentence for sending sexually explicit Text Messages to a minor. Day two of jury deliberations are about to begin in the bribery trial of senator bob menendez. Menendez told reporters on monday hes convinced hell be found not guilty of all charges. Oh, new jersey. Well, today is election day. Voters across the country are heading to the polls as they cast their ballots in several key races. Im going to start with virginia. The closely watched race for governor is coming down to the wire. Democrat is up against republican nominee ed gill lipsy. Is that how i say his name . The president weighed in, tweeting, ed will totally turn around the high crime and poor Economic Performance of virginia. Vote today asap. Gillespie responded to trumpp with two tweets this morning. Well, i appreciate his support. Any governor of virginia has to work with the president of the united states. I know it will help me be an effective governor for us as i seek to serve the people of the commonwealth. Oh goodness. Well, guess whos here, National Political correspondent Steve Kornacki closely following the race. My panel in the house to weigh in. Steve, walk us through virginia. Big election day. One year of serious. We got all the notes here, more information up on the board. Heres the bottom line. If youre a democrat, you look at the polls, you average them all together. Theres been a lot of polls, like a dozen of the last race in virginia. The average says there is a small but steady lead for the democrat ralph northam. But of course you remember election day last year. So a lot of suspicion about, mm, are the polls really going to be what they look like. Take a look again. This is why democrats, they dont want to just win virginia, they need to win virginia. This is a state thats been trending from red about a decade or two ago to blue. Last year Hillary Clinton won state fairly comfortably. For ed gillespie to pull it off, theres two things that kind of have to happen and they may be in conflict with one another. Look right up here. These are the suburbs. Right outside washington, d. C. Densely populated. Solidly democratic. Big chunk of the vote comes here. Donald trump is toxic. Especially right in here. Fairfax, arlington county. Donald trump is toxic. He was losing, getting 15, 20 of the vote in some of the places here. Toxic in a teeny tiny area. You circle right here, 20 of the vote in the entire states right there. So youre talking densely populated suburbs right outside washington, d. C. Heres the thing, if ed gi gillesp gillespies getting donald trump numbers here, very difficult for him to win. But gillespie when he ran for office in virginia a couple of years ago, he did about ten points better than donald trump. So can gillespie do better than trump in these suburbs . Weve talked so much about the strategy gillespie has. Its been cult ur, its been immigration, confederate monuments. Thats geared more towards the southwest part of the state. He needs trump level support here. But he cannot have the trump toxicity up here. What kind of voter turnout . Im guessing right outside washington, d. C. In that blue area, you get a big voter turnout. Given that trumps base, while it might be small, is passionate for him in that outer country, could you get a lot of people show up to the polls who dont necessarily normally vote . We saw that in the last president ial election. Thats the question. And thats the strategy ed gillespie has used here. Ed gillespie has run on trump issues. Trump hasnt been campaigning here. But these are issues of culture that gillespie i mean, donald trump, this has been a republican area for virginia in a while. But trump was running 10, 15, 20 points better than the average republican down in southwest virginia. Thats what gillespies going for with the campaign. Hes run the risk though is by doing that is theres such a backlash up here in these d. C. Suburbs that any gains he makes down here are wiped out up there. This is stunning. Guys, i need you to weigh in. If gillespie wins, how devastating is this for democrats . Weve had a bad week. I think its a referendum on the Trump Presidency so far. All the things that we in the centers of media in this country sort of go on day after day, talking about all the things donald trump does wrong. If a democrat cant win in virginia, i think that is a bad, bad, bad omen for 2018 and 2020. If a democrat cannot win in virginia, donald trump jr. And Kellyanne Conway are going to have a dance party all night long on twitter. They may. I think its still really early to know. I think the 2018 midterms are going to be the pivot in all this. Why are you pouring cold water on the whole im sorry to kill your theme today. I think the race is the law and order theme that gillespie has been hitting on this, hes refused to back down from ads that have been pretty skirless in their veracity, targeted at both Terry Mcauliffes record and what northam wants to do, who is mcauliffes deputy governor. I think that its the donald trump playbook it is, exactly that. Lock him up, lock him up. And gill lopesy has gotten a lot of traction around that. I think the gop remembers what other candidates remember Mike Huckabee when he was, you know, proleniency around inmates, he commuted sentence, this came back to haunt him. I think republicans are not going to make that mistake again particularly when it comes to the governors house. Heres what ed gillespie told our own garrett haake. If im elected today which i hope to be, it will not be my job to be always for President Trump or against President Trump but always for virginia. Yeah, okay. Yeah. We havent seen that in this campaign so far sorry ed, but no. Its a good line. All right, quick, before we go new jersey, can we talk new jersey . All right, what do you think . I think its really interesting that new jersey you know you can always talk new jersey in this house. Thank you. Bruce springsteen, new jersey, okay. Heres the thing. New jersey about to elect another former partner of Goldman Sachs governor. They didnt have enough with jon corzine. Now theyre going to elect phil murphy today. And i think, you know, wheres your collective memory, new jersey . The collective memory is this guys going to work for me, i dont care what his history is. Hell probably do a good job. Before we go, virginia, whos going to win . Oh, god, i hope northam. I have no idea. Ill say northam. There you go. I dont want to die. I dont want to die. I dont. I could see all these people, blood all over the place. Oh, my gosh, i just dont know how to explain but it was awful. That was one of the nearly 2 dozen people wounded in sundays Church Shooting. People who had to watch as members of their Church Family were gunned down in front of their eyes. 26 people are dead. Many others still in critical condition. Nbcs katie beck is in front of the University Hospital in san antonio. Katie, we spoke yesterday, people were there praying, holding on. Where are they now . Well, i think theres still a lot of hope out there, hoping and clinging and praying to the fact that there could be a miracle, there could be a recovery for the loved ones that are still in the hospital. This morning, we learned that since yesterday three more of those patients have been discharged. So right now that number stands at 12 shooting victims that are still in area hospitals. Several of them are children and their conditions range from serious to critical. One in stable condition this morning. Yesterday, we heard from trauma surgeons who were telling us just how rigorous and thorough they were being to try and attend to all these shooting victims as they came into the hospital on sunday. Chief surgeon here at the hospital told me typically they have three operating rooms operational and when this incident occurred within 45 minutes they had 14 operating rooms operational. So the effort to try and save these victims has been enormous and they continue to try to work to improve their conditions. So many families have lost loved ones, so many families are grieving, but for these remaining victims, there is hope and it seems that there are they are making progress. They are releasing patients. So that is good news this morning for those three that were released. We are seeing a lot of outpouring of support in the communities. Weve seen candlelight vigils held for the past two nights with, you know, enormous turnout. People praying and hoping that this community, this small community, will be able to heal. Yesterday here at University Hospital there was a blood drive and within just four hours 100 people showed up to donate blood to these victims. So, again, stephanie, that number is 12, still remain hospitalized, several of them children, and a lot of hope and prayers going out for them today. All right, katie, thank you so much. I dont have it with me but yesterday the District Attorney from the county said there are two Bank Accounts that have been set up for people, for victims, for the community. For those who want to donate, im going to put the Contact Information of how you can donate on my twitter. Im going to tweet it out a little bit later. All right, katie, thank you. Hard job this week. Up next, a major donor joins me on why democrats on the hill are taking the wrong angle when attack the republican tax reform bill. And were going to get his take on President Trumps big plan. He says its going to be great for the middle class. Well find out. First, i want you to check this out. A student looking for some extra credit made a rap video for his biology class and not surprising it went viral. Get it, biology, viral, take a look. When i received the diagnosis, i knew at that exact moment, whatever it takes, wherever i have to go. Im beating this. My main focus was to find a team of doctors that work together. When a patient comes to ctca, theyre meeting a team of physicians that specialize in the management of cancer. Breast Cancer Treatment is continuing to evolve. And i would say that ctca is definitely on the cusp of those changes. Patients can be overwhelmed. We really focus on taking the time with each individual patient so they can choose the treatment appropriate for them. The care that ctca brings is the kind of care ive wanted for my patients. Being able to spend time with them, have a whole team to look after them is fantastic. I empower women with choices. Its not just picking a surgeon. Its picking the care team, and feeling secure where you are. Surround yourself with the team of Breast Cancer experts at Cancer Treatment centers of america. Visit cancercenter. Com breast the unpredictability of a flaree may weigh on your mind. Thinking about what to avoid, where to go, and how to work around your uc. Thats how i thought it had to be. But then i talked to my doctor about humira, and learned humira can help get and keep uc under control. When certain medications havent worked well enough. Humira can lower your ability to fight infections, including tuberculosis. Serious, sometimes fatal infections and cancers, including lymphoma, have happened; as have blood, liver, and nervous system problems, serious allergic reactions, and new or worsening heart failure. Before treatment, get tested for tb. Tell your doctor if youve been to areas where certain fungal infections are common and if youve had tb, hepatitis b, are prone to infections, or have flulike symptoms or sores. Dont start humira if you have an infection. Raise your expectations and ask your gastroenterologist if humira may be right for you. With humira, control is possible. Its my favorite part of the show, money power politics. Were following some big developments on tax reform. The house ways and Means Committee is meeting up to mock up the gop tax bill, also a new group of as many as ten democratic senators, no surprise, is set to meet with Top White House officials including gary cohen and mark short to discuss tax reform. Joining me now chair man and ceo of diamond resorts, a good friend of mine, steven klubeck. Was, was. Was. The last time you and i spoke, it was right after the shooting in las vegas. Here we are two days after a shooting in texas. The last thing you said to me was enough is enough. And here we are, back with another shooting. So i want to enough is enough. Enough is enough. I hope youre watching, mr. President. Youre a massively successful business guy. A major donor to the Democratic Party. What is your take on this bill . Well, its misguided because to get rid of state and local tax relief is a major hit. To most americans. Major hit. Specifically in new york and california. And if you put new york and california together, its like the fifth largest gdp. Its dumb. This is a big Corporate Tax bungle. Shouldnt you like that, youre a rich guy. No, im going to get hurt, im going to end up paying more taxes, but its not im arguing for this because its not proper. They should go after net operating loss carry forwards. Then give kids relief for student loans. Dont hurt the kids. How can you hurt the kids . Why do you think this is the republicans approach . I mean, when you look at cutting Corporate Taxes, youre not actually getting rid of any loopholes so theyll continue to use all the shelters, theyre going to continue to use every trick in the book. Cutting the estate tax. Do you see it helping the middle class anywhere here . I think its a far reach. And, you know, if youre going to help the middle class, let the kids get relief for student loans. Give the kids relief. Let them go to school. And to just give the corporations all these tax cuts and not getting rid of net operating loss carry forwards is insanity. Its crazy. Keeping carried interest for private equity firm, keeping carried interest for real estate firms, thats just President Trump hooking himself up. Are democrats going after it in the right way . At the end of the day, there are a lot of people who think President Trump is morally reprehensible but they think, i want i talked to schumer and pelosi and said, if you use the term billionaires again, im done. Why . Because its aspirational. I didnt start with anything. Just penalize everyone that has done well. We all want to do well. And we should be the party of doing well. We should be a party of business and leadership. And it is very, very disturbing when i hear the billionaire word. And i told them to stop it, knock it off. Because Everyone Wants to do really well. And this is the world of aspirations. Dan, are you worried that the Democratic Party goes too far to the left . So much so it drives me nuts. So much so it would make me quit the party. And ive made it very clear, ill cut your money off. And others will do the same. Weve had enough. We need to rebrand. What is that brand . If democrats lose, for example n the state of virginia, if that isnt a wakeup call that the democratic leadership needs to get together and say, weve got to find a middle ground, because as democrats continue to go far to the left, youve got that whole group in the center that are not going to go the way of Elizabeth Warren or Bernie Sanders and youre going to fracture the party anymore. Its fractured. Its broken. We need a new brand. It needs to be simple. Keep it simple. Tax reform, keep it simple. Infrastructure, no bumps in the road. What more do we have to say . They need to have a new brand created. Is the Democratic Party in the worst shape over republicans . They are both the same. There are a lot of people who dont like President Trump, but then they showed up and voted republican. Are we going to see democrats pull together and vote together . A lot of bernie supporters did not turn to vote for hillary. They just didnt vote at all. I know. And i can tell you if we go far left, im out. Im out. We need middle ground. Will you tell the leadership this . When you meet with schumer and pelosi, what did they say to you . So far they have given me great signals. They are willing to participate and get there. We shall see. We shall see. Do you think the tax plan will be voted through . The republicans need a win here. If paul ryan doesnt get this through, hes got no future. They will have no legislative wins for 2017. Well, they have a lot of difficulties. They are very, unfortunately, bigoted, antisemitic and costic. And creating civil war. They want to create civil war. Steve bannon wants a civil war. 100 . It is disgusting. You want to talk about gun control. Get rid of the assault weapons. Get rid of them. If it is bigoted and antisemitic, why is it winning . Good question. A sad state for us. What needs to be done, you need to run for governor of the state of nevada . No. No short, what needs to be done . Here we are on the eve of tax reform we need people getting together in a room and be moderate with one another. We need to get along. We need people to speak and get things done. And we need compromise, compromise. And just answer me this before we go, i understand why the forgotten american, why trumps base said, i want to break the system. The system isnt working for me. When trump said, it hasnt worked for you for 30 years, why not vote for me . I kind of understand that. But youre a big casino guy, youre a vegas guy, youre surrounded by others, if the party is bigoted, why are they backing in . Ask them. I asked you, what is your opinion . Maybe they are confused. Maybe they are confused. But look, im just as caustic and arrogant on the democratic side. So, you know, trumpesque, trump liked, im willing to fight for democratic principles. And im not going to give up. And hopefully well get our together. It does stand for capitalism. It does stand for good capitalism. And i hope that we can get the message out. Good luck to you. Stephen cloobeck, always nice to have you visit. You can follow the latest news on your races and see the results all day long on msnbc. Com elections. Ind. My 30year marriage. My 3month old business. Plus. What if this happened again . I was given warfarin in the hospital, but wondered, was this the best treatment for me . So i made a point to talk to my doctor. He told me about eliquis. Eliquis treats dvt and pe blood clots and reduces the risk of them happening again. Not only does eliquis treat dvt and pe blood clots. Eliquis also had significantly less major bleeding than the standard treatment. Eliquis had both. And that turned around my thinking. Dont stop eliquis unless your doctor tells you to. Eliquis can cause serious and in rare cases fatal bleeding. Dont take eliquis if you have an artificial heart valve or abnormal bleeding. If you had a spinal injection while on eliquis call your doctor right away if you have tingling, numbness, or muscle weakness. While taking eliquis, you may bruise more easily. And it may take longer than usual for bleeding to stop. Seek immediate medical care for sudden signs of bleeding, like unusual bruising. Eliquis may increase your bleeding risk if you take certain medicines. Tell your doctor about all planned medical or dental procedures. Eliquis treats dvt and pe blood clots. Plus had less major bleeding. Both made eliquis right for me. Ask your doctor if switching to eliquis is right for you. That wraps us up this hour. Im stephanie ruhle.
