And we cannot convict. The shocking mistrial in the case of a Police Officer, Michael Slager, caught on video killing an unarmed black man from behind. Never expected this was going to be the outcome. One lone juror refused to convict. What happens next . We have to take you right to the state of california where officials in oakland are set to give an update any moment on that deadly warehouse fire, and several new details are coming in. First, the landlords emotional outburst during a today show interview that took place moments ago as the victims loved ones are demanding answers. Second, records are shedding new light on a history of investigations into that specific warehouse. Officials also released the names of ten more victims making the total 36 people were killed. Nbcs Steve Patterson is live in oakland. I want to start with the landlord. He appeared on the today show earlier today. He was aggressive. Whats he saying . Reporter stephanie, it had to be one of the most intense five minutes of Live Television i think i have ever seen. That interview with matt and tamron where they were trying to press him to see if he would answer, if he felt like he felt any responsibility for what happened inside that building. Derrick, this is the ghost ship founder and manager, and by the way, what that means is he is basically the leasee from the owner. 5,000 a month. He then collects rent from the tenants, uses it as an event space, both of which high does not have permits to do for, and thats how he runs that space. I want to play for you this interview. Matt and tamron pressing him on if he feels any responsibility, and this is his answer. Listen. Im not going to answer these questions in the way youre presenting them. Obviously i didnt do anything ever in my life that would lead me up to this moment. Can i ask you im an honorable man, a proud man. No, im not going to answer these questions on this level. I would rather get on the floor and be trampled by the parents. I would rather let them tear at my flesh than answer these ridiculous questions. Im so sorry. Im incredibly sorry. What do you want me to say . Im not going to answer these questions. Then we will call this im going to say that im sorry. Then well end the interview there. You have to hold my soul accountable for believing in something. That was, of course, the manager of ghost ship. Well take you live to the press conference in oakland right now. No change overnight in the total number of victims located and recovered. The numbers have shifted within the 36. At this time, we have 26 families that have been notified. We have nine tentative i. D. S and still one doe remaining that needs to be notified. Please allow me to introduce Oakland Fire Department battalion chief lip. He will update you on operations that took place last night and early this morning. Good morning. So as you recall yesterday, we were forced to suspend recovery operations, interior due to the instability of the structure. Working throughout the day yesterday and last night, we were able to remove the parapet wall that was presenting the greatest danger and also able to put in shoring to stabilize some of the flooring areas. This morning, at 2 20, we went back in and resumed recovery operations. At this time, we have been able to search through the building and clear approximately 85 of the building right now. Well be continuing that throughout the day. Theres one corner that remains unstable. And then thats another thing were going to be doing throughout the day today, stabilizing that corner so we can search that last section. I would like to update our citizens and our community regarding the pg e planned power outage. Currently, the power is still off in this specific area. They are anticipating that the power will be returned by maybe 8 00 a. M. , but right now, safety is paramount, so the power will remain off while the crane and heavy equipment is here, still processing the scene. I would also like to call in my partner, Public Information officer marco marquez. We would like to provide some information to our community. We have a lot of very goodwilled citizens, community members, people outside of the city of oakland, outside of the state, even outside of the country, who want to donate. And deservingly so, donate. We are logistically, it is challenging for us to take donations here. So we have a system set up and information we would like to share for anyone who would like to donate. So please allow him to provide that information. Good morning, everyone. My name is marco marquez. One of the Oakland Police department Public Information officers. And the information i have to share with you is there is a web page set up on ucaring. Com. Youcaring. Com. And if you go in the search bar and search oakland fire or victims of the oakland fire, you will see a link that is connected there that is set up by the city as well as the red cross. Now, here at the site, we are experiencing overwhelming amount of support. People coming in, bringing food and asking how can they donate financially. And it is overwhelming here, so it is set up online where you can make those donations. Whether youre here or if youre across the nation or even international. As we all know, the magnitude of the impact here on the families as well as our community. Those are oakland officials giving an update to the status. I want to bring back Steve Patterson and retired state fire marshal chief james mcmullen. From the county sheriffs office, they confirmed, we didnt hear additional names. 36 people we know of were killed. One person still unidentified. 85 of the building has been cleared. There is still a section they havent been in yet. We dont know what could be there, correct . That is correct. We dont know what could be there. Right, we dont know what could be there, although the hope is that with 85 of the building now searched, and a small pocket still to go, that the 36 will hold. Every time we come to a press conference, you know, generally, that death toll has risen. Thankfully, they shored up about 80 of the building last night. And just in talking to pios, talking to people at the scene, talking to investigators, our own Investigation Team on scene, it would appear that that 36 number should hold as the death toll. But again, we dont know whats left in the last pocket. Steve, james, sit tight. Well take you back to the press conference where theyre taking questions right now. You know, i havent really approached that with rain and tarps as of yet. The rain shouldnt adversely affect what were doing. Do you anticipate the number of killed to go up . Its relatively steady, thankfully. Do you anticipate it going up . Based on the areas that remain unsearched, i dont anticipate it going up. Theres one section thats still in an area that has some potential, but otherwise, no. On the website you mentioned, there are several obviously, one that looks to be the most important. Is that correct . Yes, sir, that is correct. There also is an oakland as one that is set up as well thats right next to it that youll see. Those two are set up for this specific snenlt. [ inaudible ] yeah, so the issue with that corner is its unsupported laterally as you move across. So that load then gets shifted along the left wall, what were calling the bravo wall. If we remove the parapet there, that can cause that wall to become unstable. What we need to do is put bracing in so we can support the entire corner. If we remove the parapet wall, that raises the possibility that the bside wall could become unstable. We dont want to do that. [ inaudible question ] im sorry, i couldnt hear your full question. Speak up please. [ inaudible question ] not at this time. Reconcile the missing list in terms of what were expecting . Were still working to reconcile that list. We still have people reported as missing. One identified. Were going to take you back. James mcmullen and Steve Patterson with me. James, we have gotten an unidate from officials in oakland, but the investigate. We know that the manager of the warehouse is very angry, defensive, and upset today. Where do you think the investigation goes from here . The investigation needs to proceed according to plan, in a slow and methodical way, in continuing to sift through the debris and preserve the scene for both body recovery as well as preservation of evidence to determine the exact point of origin and then the fire cause. Steve, youre on the ground there. We know how defensive the manager was. Sort of is the rumor mill swirling that these guys could Face Criminal Charges here . Well, it is possible. Steve . Yes. I think its too early to speculate on it. Sure, it is possible. One of the things investigators specifically launch by the d. A. , what theyre doing is first determining whether or not criminal charges whether or not there was criminal activity and who should face charges. Certainly, we have been hearing from tenants. We have been hearing from people in the community. I think hes sort of a controversial figure. Described in a number of ways, from anything from abrasive to sort of a grand selfaggrandizing. We heard that multiple times. So as far as what he does or doesnt know, those are questions that investigators are going to ask him. The questions that matt and tamron were asking him this morning are questions that investigators are going to ask him, so he better have a better answer for them than he did for us at this point. Thats what we need to take away from this. Steve, james, thank you for joining us this morning. Again, 36 people confirmed dead. It sounds like hopefully we wont hear of more. We appreciate it. Were going to take a break. When we come back, joe biden 2020 . Could it be real . Joe biden already thinking about running next election . Well find out. Stay with us. Youre watching msnbc. I found l on prescriptions. We found lower copays. And a free wellness visit. New plan. Same doctor. Im happy. Its medicare open enrollment. Have you compared plans yet . Its easy at medicare. Gov. Or you can call 1800medicare. Medicare open enrollment. Youll never know unless you go. I did it. You can too. He wears his army hat, he gets awalks aroundliments. With his army shirt looking all nice. And then people just say, thank you for serving our country and im like, thats my dad. Male vo no one deserves a warmer welcome home. Thats why were hiring 10,000 members of the military community by the end of 2017. Im very proud of him. Male vo comcast. Welcome back. Youre watching msnbc. Were going to turn to politics. And a jaw dropper from the Vice President. During a trip to capitol hill on monday, joe biden suggested his political career may not be over on january 20th. Our own Kelly Odonnell is part of a small group of reporters who talked to the Vice President. Kelly, love it. You got right in there. Tell us exactly what he told you. Well, this was one of those times when were reminded that the desire to be president is maybe never extinguished in someone like joe biden who for decades has pursued that office. We were talking to him about the emotional tribute on the senate floor to his son beau biden, who died of cancer. Renamed a bill in honor of beau yesterday about 21st century cures. It was a bit of an emotional time. I asked him about being wistful about the end of his time in publicophorous. And he volunteered that maybe this isnt the end. Hes keeping the door open to run once again. We were not able to shoot video of this conversation, so listen along and youll hear the Vice President s words about his own potential future to run again. My staff always kids me, every time i come up here, i feel invigorated. I love this place. This is this is where i spent my life. Are you going to run again . Yeah. I am. Im going to run in 2020. For what . For president. You know, so what the hell, man. Anyway. Were going to run with that, sir, you know. Thats okay. Thats okay. No, but i have enjoyed every minute of my time here in the senate. Its just its a great feeling to come back. I love this place. To be clear, were you kidding about running for president in 2020 . Im just im not committing not to run. Im not committing to anything. I learned a long time ago, fate has a strange way of intervening. And you heard some laughter there from the of the reporters. It was kind of a light moment. I have talked to joe biden many times over the years. At first we thought he might have been kidding. Then, as i looked him in the eye, judged his body language, we went back. You heard me say, were going to run with that. That becomes a story we will publish this, so are you really saying what youre saying . Another reporter said, okay, youre not kidding . He would not commit to not running again. This does a couple things. This keeps joe biden name in play for the future. He is 74 years old now. Were just a month after this election. So its early, but by keeping that door open, he remains relevant in the Democratic Party, and not a retiree, and i think that is important for him. His desire to be in public service, and this will be something fascinating to watch in the years to come. Fascinating. We werent expecting that. Meanwhile, we have to take a turn to president elect donald trump, pushing ahead with his socalled thank you tour. Tonight, hes headed to North Carolina, then to iowa and michigan. A state he won by just over 10,000 votes. And this morning, he has taken to twitter, his favorite social media platform, tweeting about air force one putting the boeing company on notice, maybe even sending its stock down. Kristen welker is live at trump tower. Kristen, i want to share this. So Donald Trump Tweets out, boeing is building a brandnew 747 air force one for future president s, but costs are out of control. More than 4 billion. Cancel order, exclamation point. Yes, we have seen boeings stock drop on the heels of this. But talk to us about what this really means. I know my republican mother is watching, going, darn right. But why would they be building a brandnew air force one . 4 billion is a lot of dough. This is a stunner. The white house has been insistent that they need ultimately a new air force one. The official order was put in in 2015. It wont be finished until 2023, and at that point in time, air force one will be 32 years old. If you need more context, the plane that president obama currently traveled around in was put in order under president reagan. So the white house has been insistent that, look, they need to upgrade air force one. But there is no doubt the cost is quite high. But the broader question here, steph, is this essentially bullying businesses . What is going to come of this essential threat that the president elect has made toward boeing. Will he actually try to get this order canceled . Well have to wait and see if in fact this does go through, but theres no doubt this is going to send shockwaves throughout washington. Boeing, the business community, and the white house as well. Again, a lot of them insistent that this was critical, not only for security, but also safety reasons and to upgrade that plane that the president travels around in. Even if its critical from a safety perspective, donald trump saying cancel the order, isnt this true quintessential president elect donald trump . He has said from the getgo, im a master negotiator. By starting in a very public forum like twitter saying cancel the order, could this be president elect trumps just method in saying 4 billion, guess again. Try 2 billion. We know from his business history, thats what he does. He doesnt pay full price for anything. Sure. I mean, this could be his opening bid. Look at what we saw with carrier just last week. When he convinced that company to keep more than 1,000 jobs in indiana. That was effectively the first deal that he struck. So is he trying to strike yet another deal with boeing . Wouldnt be surprised, steph. I can tell you this tweet just coming down. So were doing a lot of digging about what the next steps are going to look like if this is in fact an opening offer and hes trying to get the price down. As you point out, a lot of taxpayers are going to see that 4 billion price tag and want him to get a better deal. Trump being trump. We know that guy, he doesnt pay retail. Were going to stay on the businessman donald trump. Coming up, the ceo of carriers Parent Company sat down with our own jim cramer in an exclusive interview. Were going to begin with new details in the oakland, california, warehouse fire, with 36 people killed. Officials saying just minutes ago the recovery effort has resumed with 85 of the building now cleared, but one corner area is still unstable. Authorities are working to identify one remaining victim. And breaking now, the man who allegedly shot and killed former nfl Football Player joe mcknight is in jail on a manslaughter charge. Ronald gasser was questioned and not charged after last weeks shooting. Mcknight was shot in an apparent case of road rage. And president elect trump is back on the road. Officials ramping up security after an anonymous tip about an imminent terror attack. Justice correspondent Pete Williams has the details. What are you learning here . This is one of those abundance of caution things more than anything. The amount of concern here in washington among the various federal agencies is pretty low. But because of the fact that this call that was received just shortly before the threat was the tip said the threat was going to happen, they decided they had no choice but to ramp up security, as you say. The threat was directed against the subway station there, universal city. And was fairly specific. But the problem is theres no way to know whether this is a hoax or not. And while its being checked out, the officials decided they would go ahead and ramp up security. And then when people out there begin to talk about it, it began to leak, they decided they might as well go public with what theyre doing. People who ride the l. A. Metro today will see more uniformed police, more uniformed sheriffs deputies, more dog teams. They say there will be many more undercover officers around as well. At the same time, the fbi will be trying to chase down exactly what was behind this phone call, if they can. The problem is were told that the phone call was made through a pay phone and maybe some difficulty in figuring out exactly who made the call. So it was the specificity of it and the lateness of it rather than anything about the source being credible, were told. All right, thanks, pete. Were going to take a quick break. When we come back, ill speak with jim cramer about his exclusive interview with the ceo of carriers Parent Company and trumps deal to keep nearly 1,000 jobs in the state of indiana. Tweeting out that the new air force one is running way over budget, essentially putting boeing on notice. This comes on the heels of the deal he made with carrier to keep over 1,000 jobs in the state of indiana. Now, the ceo of United Technologies, the Parent Company, of course, of carrier, is speaking out in a cnbc exclusive. Opening up about his conversations with president elect donald trump. Earlier, i got a chance to speak with Cnbcs Jim Cramer about his exclusive. Jim, you spoke to the ceo of carriers Parent Company, and i want to start with a little bit of what he told you. I was born at night but not last night. I also know that about 10 of our revenue comes from the u. S. Government. And i know that a better regulatory environment, a lower tax rate, can eventually help utc over the long run. Okay, jim, it kind of sounds like trump was browbeating the company, and you know, company doesnt want to bite the hand that feeds them. They have to do business with the government. I know greg made a point, ceo of United Technologies, it was not anything other than implied quid pro quo. I asked point blank, were the 6 billion in defense contracts in jeopardy . Did they come up, he said absolutely not. Also, of course, greg is saying, look, were a very big, big supplier to the government. So we cant really risk it. Because i think greg is a businessman and weighed that versus the idea of a couple pennies he might make if he goes to mexico. From a policy perspective, how does donald trump think hes going to replicate that across the board. If you pressure a company and give them financial incentives and they go, im not going to go against the government. How does donald trump think hes going to do this . I think that United Technologies is a very big company with a big global reach. I think that if he can take on United Technologies and they basically say, you know what, mr. President elect, youre right, were going to change. I think you have to be very careful if youre in the government, if youre in a company and not to get another call from the government. Look, can he call 100 companies . I dont think he has to. If greg hayes wants to play ball, who the heck are they not to play ball . I mean, honestly. This guy is one of the most important industrialists in the world. I dont think the other people should reach it. I have to tell you, maybe mark fields at ford is negotiating with donald trump, but the art of the deal, an amazing book, by the way, makes it pretty clear that trump gets his way in business. How about when hes president . But if you think about it, he didnt entirely say, listen, i just went with whatever trump told me. He did acknowledge you cannot fight globalization. Free trade is here to stay. The genie of globalization is not going back in the bottle. Free trade is still essential to the growth of this country. This country was founded on two principles, immigration and free trade. Thats what made America Great over time. Jim, hes right. So donald trump and his huge tariff threats, like, do they hold any water here . Well, i think that donald trump would have been more, better advised. Maybe eventually, to think about the fact that mexico has this incredible currency advantage. Maybe somehow you have to change nafta to make it so its not so easy to go down. I think donald trump has to address the idea of competitiveness by getting the money immediately, and lowering corporate taxes because right now weren expensive place to do business. Those factories were an expensive place to do business versus mexico. You have to do more than say heres 700,000 a year in incentives. That was nowhere near how much the company is going to save had they moved to mexico. Its a complex situation boiled down to a couple tweets and a phone call. A lot of ways not fair to the process, but i do think if youre about to offshore, you see what greg did. You dont want to get the phone call and put it on hold. One of the things greg told me, listen, were going to automate that plan. Thats called progress and progress isnt stopped. I think in some ways the president elect would love to stop progress, having fewer people to make things on that big Assembly Line for jet engines, but you cant. Progress is never going to be stopped. To that point, jim, whose responsibility is it for of those people who simply lose their jobs because of automation . Who has to take care of them . Who has to have a game plan . Donald trump cant simply say, you better keeb those jobs here, if the jobs no longer exist. You think about r d, Companies Across the board in the last eight years are spending money on automation. There is no word to preserve lowskill jobs in this country in certain industries. Particularly manufacturing. I think there are meanty of ways to do it in other different businesses, but you know, i pick up the paper and theres amazon saying no checkers. Checkers make 8 an hour at kroger. There are thousands of checkers. What can donald trump do about a store of the future that has no checkers . Absolutely nothing. Absolutely nothing. Well, hes got his work cut out for him. Thank you so much for joining me. Great to see you. You are terrific. You are terrific. Thank you. Jim cramer of cnbc. All right, we have to take a turn now. A jury could not reach a decision in the murder trial against a former South Carolina Police Officer who killed walter scott, forcing the judge to declare it a mistrial. Prosecutors vowed to retry former charleston officer Michael Slager, but slager will also face a federal civil rights trial. Gabe gutierrez is live in charleston, South Carolina. Gabe, despite video showing scott getting shot in the back, one juror was the lone holdout that caused this mistrial. How have state officials and the community really reacted to this verdict . Reporter hi, stephanie. Good morning. There is a lot of shock from the community, from Walter Scotts family, which is now preparing for two more trials. This local prosecutor here says that this case will be retried. Michael slager also facing a federal civil rights trial some time next year. Now, we also spoke with fabian santana, the eyewitness whose cell phone video really catapulted this story into the national spotlight. We spoke with him yesterday. Heres some of what he had to say. We never expected this was going to be the outcome. Officer slager, when he testified, said he was in total fear for his life. Do you believe that . I cant speak for him, but thats not what i saw. I saw a person that was in total control. So this has been a very difficult situation for Walter Scotts family, but again, they feel that they will get a conviction in future trials. Now, again, Michael Slager has repeatedly said that he fired the shots in selfdefense. No comment so far from the defense team since the judge declared the mistrial. The jury deliberated for about 23 hours, spread out over four days, stephanie. All right. Thank you, gabe gutears joining us from charleston, south caroli carolina. Next, donald trump spoke to cameras inside trump tower. Well find out what he said. Diabetes can be a daily struggle, even if youre trying your best. Great people coming in today. Youll see them. What are you talking about with mayor bowser from washington, d. C. Today . A lot of things to a lot of people. We have a lot of people coming up. A great group of people. Doing very well. Thank you all very much. You tweeted this morning about canceling the contract for the new air force one. Is that something youre trying to do . The plane is totally out of control. Going to be over 4 billion, for the air force one program. I think its ridiculous. I think boeing is doing a little bit of a number. We want boeing to make a lot of money, but nat that much money. Okay, thank you. Joining me now, a pair of msnbc political analysts, david korn, for mother jones, and elise jordan, who will be with me in a moment. David, i want to start with you. Are you surprised donald trump is publicly going after boeing . We know that twitter is his platform of choice. But this kind of comes out of nowhere . To begin with, im not surprised about anything donald trump does. Hes been the most erratic political leader in the country, at least in the last century, and he does things on purpose to distract or change things up. And so i dont expect any time to say i was surprised by that. I mean, hes going after air force one, making an issue out of somebody that hasnt been an issue yet. 4 billion sounds like a lot, but i dont know if it is a lot. I would like to see an audit, it may be a reasonable amount of money for a program thats going to take, you know, 10, 15 years to complete. You know, it seems like every 30, 40 years, having a new air force one is not unreasonable. And here he is, picking on boeing. The same time, hes talking about a tariff war with china, which could force china to cancel the order for 200 737s made by boeing. Hes playing a pretty dangerous game without, it seems, a lot of forethought. Elise, were talking Donald Trumps trump saying a few minutes ago, boeing, take a hike. 4 billion is out of control. Is donald trump picking and choosing what he thinks is too expensive . Because a cynic might say, i dont know, donald. A Million Dollars a day to protect your family, the circus that is the security around trump tower, that costs an awful lot of money too. It shows hes going to get involved in politics on an individualized level, and especially with all of these government contracts. Thats a really dangerous president to set, that the president is so involved with micropurposes, not to say this is a small purchase, but hes going out of his way to focus on that rather than the broader strategy of how to improve the economy. I want to talk democratic strategy. A lot of people were surprised last night. Vice President Joe Biden seems to be leaving the door open for 2020. I want to share a little bit of what he said last night. Take a look. Oh, we actually dont have the sound, but for joe biden to say 2020, maybe hes in, what do you think of that . Well, why not . He doesnt have to commit to anything. He wants to stay in the game. Maybe he wants to be a voice. I think the big problem right now for the democrats is that over 60 Million People voted for a democratic candidate in hillary clinton. They were in the majority. Theyre scared, disappointed, asept. They see donald trump acting in erratic, dangerous ways. The National Adviser is a conspiracy theorist, so theyre worried and looking for democrats to fight back in areas which is justifiable to fight back. Democrats looking to investigate what happens with the russian hack of the election. And theyre getting a lot of silence now from the National Democratic level. And so maybe joe biden wants to fill that void. God knows for democrats, somebody should do it pretty damn fast. Elise, many people are saying after this election, clearly, the Democratic Party needs some sort of reboot. Its not the case in terms of nancy pelosi keeping her position. If joe biden decides he wants to run, does he become the clear frontrunner, and if thats the case, it doesnt look like a reboot. It seems like this is classic democrats who have been in power wanting to stay in power. The democrats havent seems like theyre learning the lessons of what voters wanted. Where i do think joe biden stands a chance be effective for the Democratic Party is this is a troll on trump. This is not going to make donald trump happy. To have joe biden, a very Popular National political figure, nipping at his heels and talking of the prospect of running against him already. Thats where i think joe biden comes into the equation. David, what do you think this does to donald trump . The biden thing . Yes. Well, well see if he starts tweeting. Listen, Donald Trumps skin is so thin, its like onion paper that we used to use with old typewriters, and he gets upset if alec baldwin mocks him. Joe biden getting out there, if hes going to do what elise suggested, what i would like to see some democrat do, and start making the case against trump on a regular basis and pointing to weaknesses and vulnerabilities, will no doubt get under his skin and will start another tweet storm. And my money is on joe biden if theres ever a real mono emono fight between him and trump. We know well be front and center to watch that. David, elise, thank you so much for joining me. We are one week away from Donald Trump Holding a News Conference to address potential conflicts of interest involving his business including how to hand over assets to his kids. Each day, well be asking one question to the president elect, a question he needs to answer when he reveals his handover plan. Tell us, mr. Trump, todays question is, what will ivankas role be . I want to bring in staff writer shei sheila. Theres talk hell hand over his business to his children, his daughter, ivanka. They may move to dc and met with foreign leaders and meeting with al gore to potentially discuss Climate Change. How do you square this off with, but shes going to run the business . Its a little awkward, as you pointed out. Theres a lot of firsts to do with the Trump Presidency and one of them is that ivanka is shaping up to be possibly the most powerful first daughter weve ever seen. She seems to be adopting first lady type duties, accompanying her father to meetings, coming up with a kind of pet policy issues. This is something that usually the first lady does, as we saw with michelle obama, she was really interested in obesity and childhood nutrition and ivanka is trying to figure out how to shape this kind of unprecedented and yes, conflicted role that shes envisioning for herself. As far as conflicted, i want to talk more about her meeting with al gore and Climate Change. Heres what al gore had to say. Ivanka trump is very committed to having a Climate Policy that makes sense for our country and for our world and that was certainly evident in the conversation that i had with her. That was the conversation al gore had with our own chris hays. If Climate Change is a central focus for ivanka trump and president elect trump already cast doubt on Climate Change even existing, sort of reminds me of when she spoke at the rnc, people loved her speech about womens issues and many of the issues that didnt square off with what was on her fathers platform. Yes, its very awkward, and i think a lot of people now are trying to figure out way to influence donald trump because he has been very extreme in a lot of positions and sort of flipflopping a lot, so its hard to know what he actually believes or influenced by republicans around him but people are going after his kids and trying to influence them with the hopes that they can bring reason to their father. So clearly, this Climate Change thing is something she decided to embrace. She reportedly met with Leonardo Dicaprio and discussed his documentary about the environment. And i think people concerned about Climate Change are hoping he can be a vessel for more reasonable ideas so trump himself called Climate Change a hoax and a denier to run the epa. Unclear how those two things are going to square. Those concerned about business conflicts of interest. If Climate Change is a focus for ivanka and running the family properties, maralago, golf resorts, some seaside properties. How does that work . This is really the most conflicted presidency weve ever seen and its unclear if theres even a way to solve the problem because, yes, trump himself has these massive conflicts. Initially acted like it was silly to deal with them and didnt understand what a conflict of interest was and then said my kids will run it and then put the kids in the transition and now, his daughter is accompanying him to the meetings and possibly in the white house directing policy. So its a huge issue and i think its something thats going to possibly generate controversy on an ongoing basis and unclear how and if trump himself is going to solve this problem. If youre watching president elect trump, today, tell us what will ivanka do. We look forward to hearing from you. Thank you so much. Well take a break.
