I dont think any parent in america or every School Teacher saw that childish behavior going on. Even though i wasnt expecting anything, i saw it as such an unpresident ial event and disrespect, and its not even talking about politics, just leaving politics aside, that was extremely disrespectful. I feel ashamed to be an american after seeing this. Running against trump is a different kind of art than a different debate. It becomes less about facts and about personality and domination and the ability to come back and to survive the abuse. What would you like to see in the next president ial debate . A mute button. And in frank luntzs post debate focus group, we heard even more of the same. That was one of the most i have watched president ial debates for forty years and thats one of the most frustrating things i have ever experienced. We were getting it i kept notes, and there might have been two or three answers to questions the whole 90 minutes. When asked if the debate turned off potential voters, even joe biden said he understood how it might. What do you have to say to those undecided persuadable voters who were watching last night and who were just completely turned off by politics . I can understand it. The president of the United States conducted himself the way he did, i think it was just a national embarrassment. And now, aware of the obvious, the president ial commission on debates says this afternoon, quote, last nights debate made clear that additional structure should be added to the format of the remaining debates to insure a more orderly discussion of the issues. The cpd will be carefully considering the changes that it will adopt and will announce those measures shortly. There is a lot of reaction to the debate and the voters are the ones who matter so lets hear from the voters. We have reporters across the country getting reaction to the debate and what it means for november. From ohio, msnbc Senior International correspondent chris jansing, from michigan, nbc News Reporter dasha burns. From florida, correspondent ellison barber. From minnesota, political reporter shaquille brewster, and from arizona, nbc news political reporter vaughn hillyard. Youre in all states that can make or break this election. Its as if our assignment desk knew what they were doing when they sent you out to talk to voters. Chris, i want to start with you. We heard from a voter you spoke with that they wish they had a mute button for this debate. The question i have, did this debate change anyones mind about who they might be voting for . Key question, right . It moved them a little bit, and i think they were even surprised by it, to joe biden. Look at the local you showed a bunch of headlines. The headline in the local paper is debate devolves, and more interesting, the county republicans had a watch party. Even the head of the county Republican Party called what happened chaotic. Look, this was not what anybody wanted to see. Have some pictures of our panel watching the debate. You know, head in hand. They used words to describe it like painful, unpresident ial, disrespectful. Let me play a little bit of our conversation after the debate, katy. Its frustration. Its disappointing that those are the two choices in the top two parties. If you were to ask me who won the debate, i dont really think either one won. They danced around, called ee e other names, were disrespectful. I dont know if anybody roly won but a came away with a little more respect for joe biden. First, what i think is key here, a couple months ago, we would have been looking at can donald trump in places like ohio and pennsylvania hold on to those democratic and independent voters who crossed over, sort of the working class white men. Now youre looking at people who almost seem to be looking for a reason to stay with him, because they have concerns about joe biden being too liberal, about Kamala Harris being too liberal, and last night, they just didnt find it. What they did find, they were concerned about joe bidens age, concerned about how he would present himself. They felt like he did better maybe than they expected, but what was frustrating overall is they just didnt get answers to their questions. They dont feel like they learned anything, and if you ask them, katy, will they watch the next debate, they wouldnt say for sure that they would. The vp debate, yes. The next president ial debate, they want changes like, as you saw, that mute button, katy. A mute button or somebody suggested earlier on our air, just take the debates away and have this be interviews with the Major Networks, individual interviews with Major Networks where you can cover all these topics oneonone and actually get information out of the candidates. Well see if that would ever happen. Dasha burns. You are in michigan. Imagine that. Yeah. Youre talking to moderate voters. Last night, donald trump, and he has been doing this for a while, tried to paint joe biden as a socialist who is aligned with the more left segment of the democratic party. When you talk to voters, what was their takeaway . Yeah, katy. They were not exactly buying it. As you know, we have been covering kent county significantly. We have been coming back here quite a bit this past year. And the key demographic were focused on here are moderate Republican Voters. Donald trump won this county by a very narrow margin in 2016, and those Republican Voters could actually be pretty key to turning this county blue in 2020. So i spoke to three Republican Voters. I want to introduce you to them now. One is katie moore, a mom of two. She voted for donald trump in 2016. Then we have mitch, who is a military veteran, a former army ranger who has voted republican his entire life. Except for in 2016 when he went third party, and jerry, who i met at a Farmers Market during the impeachment inquiry which he called a witch hunt at the time. He was a big trump supporter last year but has since backed away a little bit and is undecided. Take a listen to what they had to say about last nights event. Which party do you feel like is doing a better job reaching out to moderates like you . I definitely would say the Biden Campaign is. I thought he really spoke to the American People last night. He looked directly into the camera. Im a staunch Second Amendment supporter, im prolife, but i also believe that the danger of another four years of the Trump Presidency far outweigh those. It looks like two kindergartners fighting in the sandbox. It was hard to comprehend, hard to understand. Wasnt really sure what was going on. And katy, we just got hit with some major michigan weather here, but jerry, that decided voter, i asked if last night moved him in any way. He said did not clarify a single thing for him. Katy. Im still so surprised that people are undecided this late in the game. As if the last four years didnt give you reason either way youre going for who to vote for. And i guess were hearing the same from some of the voters youre talking to in florida, ellison barber. Tell us what youre hearing. Yeah, katy. It was not easy for us to find an undecided voter in the miamidade area. I have been here for weeks. I regularly stop strangers on the sidewalk and ask to get their opinion on politics. It took us a long time to come across anyone who was undecided. We found one, matteo gomez. He was born in colombia and grew up in the miami area. He became a u. S. Citizen two years ago so this is his first president ial election. We have been speaking to him off camera, and hes felt torn. He has taken his time making his decision. He likes President Trumps tax policies but disagrees with him as it relates to immigration and health care. We asked if we could watch a bit of the debate with him remotely. He said he felt like last nights debate moved him a little bit in the direction of one candidate, but overall, he said he just felt disappointed. Listen here. Was this debate at all helpful to you as an undecided voter in terms of making up your mind . Not at all. It was a crazy show that it kind of leaned me to one direction maybe. If you had to pull the trigger and vote for someone tomorrow, how would you vote . Probably biden. So mmateo told me he wanted o watch one more full debate between biden and trump but he expects to make his decision after the vp debate. He said that debate matters a lot to him because of both biden and trumps age. Katy. Very interesting. Shaquille brewster, you are in minnesota. One of the moments thats been talked about a lot from the debate is the president ials refusal to condemn White Supremacy and the proud boys. Its part of a pattern we have seen him fail to do for the past four or five years when hes been asked these questions. Were going to get to more of that later in the hour, but you talked to some voters who found that to be striking. What did you hear . Thats exactly right. The reason we came to minnesota is not just because President Trump will be here later today and this is a state he is trying to turn into a battleground state, but when you drive around minneapolis, you still see those tributes for george floyd. You still see the destruction from the protests and riots after his death, and this summer, the city experienced an uptick in violence. So when one of the debate topics was supposed to be race and violence in our cities, people here tell me they were welcoming that conversation, but they simply didnt get that. What stuck out to them based on the watch party i attended last night that was outdoors and socially distant and conversations i had this morning is that moment when President Trump refused to condemn White Supremacy. Listen to the impact it had on people who live here in minneapolis. That moment, i got deeply emotional, tears were forming. To hear a socalled leader in our country make that kind of statement is, quite frankly, is devastating. It was sad but expected. You expected the president not to condemn White Supremacists . Absolutely. Thats a pretty remarkable statement. This is the same guy who pretended he didnt know who david duke was only four or five years ago. A poll released yesterday showed that 54 of voters in minnesota feel that the criminal Justice System treats blacks and whites differently. They wanted to hear more the president address that sentiments a little more last night. Katy. Shaq, thank you. Finally, lets go to vaughn hillyard. Another topic in the debate, vaughn, was the coronavirus. We heard the president again question the effectiveness of masks. Arizona has been hit hard by the virus. What have you heard today . Yeah, this is a president that has held several maskless events here in arizona. More than 5600 people have died. For arizona voters over the last seven months, the impacts of covid have been unavoidable, and has propelled people like justin, who owned three restaurants here in town, but since covid struck arizona seven months ago, had to shut down two of them. This propels him to take part in this upcoming election. Listen to him a few minutes ago. Dont want to say i would blame them for the virus being here, but for every day saying its nothing, its going to go away, of course, every day that you dont do something reflects the next six month, i believe. I mean, and i think that the callousness of the first few months of the reaction to the covid is were all seeing it now. Again, justin didnt vote in 2016, katy, and he said not only is he going to vote for joe biden but also for mark kelly because hes not going to vote for any republican who associates themselves with donald trump. It echoes a phone conversation i had last night with susan in phoenixs east valley. Shes a 37year nurse here in arizona. She reregistered as a democrat from a republican just six months ago. She told me, quote, silence is approval. I have lost respect for this party. The men and women who sit there and say nothing, that means they stand for it. I jumped ship. I even gave joe some money, not much, but some. Thats a lifelong republican who changed her Voter Registration to democrat, and right now here in maricopa county, the concern for the Republican Party is theyre bleeding supporters like susan. The question is, how many of them, and could it turn this state blue just five weeks from now . It is very hard to win arizona without winning maricopa county. It is very hard to win a senate seat in arizona without winning maricopa county. It could spell disaster for one of the candidates there, martha mcsally. Vaughn hillyard, thank you so much. Dasha burns, thank you. I know you had to go because it is pouring there in michigan. Chris jansing, thank you. Ellison barber and shaquille brewster, we appreciate it. Everybody, thank you very much. And coming up, were going to get into the president not condemning racism sorry, not condemning white sprem saes, also defending his response to the pandemic in last nights debate on ask from masks to a vaccine. Well short out the facts from fiction. Plus, more on the president s refusal to condemn the far right group proud boys. Today, that group is celebrating. And were 34 days away from the november election, but today, republicans had james comey, james comey, testifying again about what happened in 2016. Also, joe biden is on a train tour, campaigning by train today. Here are some live pictures. He is on his way to pittsburgh. Joe biden on amtrak. 9. 95 at my age . 9. 95 . No way. 9. 95 . Hes harming our basic values, giving rise to hate, and hes selling out america to big corporations. Im working to protect immigrants, women, communities of color, and lgbtq people. And im making corporations like pg e and Insurance Companies play by our rules. We need experienced leadership to wipe away trumps stain on america for good. The president spoke a lot last night, interrupting, interjecting and badgering both joe biden and chris wallace, but its what he did not say that is garnering the most criticism. When asked if he would accept the election results, he declined to do so. When asked if he would urge his supporters to remain calm while counting ballots, he declined to do so. When asked what is considered in our business a softball question to condemn White Supremacy, President Trump said this. Are you willing tonight to condemn White Supremacists and Militia Groups and to say that they need to stand down and not add to the violence at a number of these cities as we saw in kenosha and as we have seen in portland . Sure, im willing to do that, but go ahead, sir. I would say almost everything i see is from the left wing, not the right wing. What are you saying . Im willing to do anything. I want to see peace. Then do it, sir. Say it. Do it. You want to call them what do you want to call them . White supremacists. Proud boys. Proud boys. Stand back and stand by. Stand back and stand by. The proud boys is a violent farright organization that believes white men and western ca culture are under attack. Part of the initiation to get into proud boys is to get into a physici physical fight for the cause. Again, the president told them to stand back and stand by. As you can see, the proud boys have celebrated that. They made his words part of their logo and theyre now calling the president their new leader. During a stop on his train tour this morning, former Vice President biden delivered his own message to the proud boys. Cease and desist. Cease and desist. The American People will decide who the next president of the United States will be. Period. So im urging the American People, go out and vote. Show up. You can vote early, vote early. Vote whatever way is most convenient for you. But vote. And if you show up in large enough numbers, nothing, nothing is going to change. I promise you, if in fact we win this election, this president will step down. A lot of bravado. He has no alternative. The American People will not stand for it. No agency would stand for that happening. Joining me now is cornell belcher, of brilliant corners research, who is a former pollster for the 2008 obama campaign, and former dhs assistant secretary for Threat Prevention and security policy, elizabeth neumann. Welcome. E elibth, ill start with you. The president says he sees more of this on the left. Youre the expert here. Fact check him. Thank you. Im glad you opened with facts. I think facts are the best way to address this issue. So he had this fbi director and his acting secretary of Homeland Security both testify before congress this month, and clarify and state very clearly that we see more lethal attacks from the right wing, now thats my characterization, not theirs. They used different language, but clearly, we have more attacks coming from violent racially and ethically motivated violence extremism that associated with the right. The adl statistics on this, they study attacks and put out annual statistics. Last year in 2019, there were 17 terrorist attacks, 42 people were killed, 90 of those were caused by rightwing idealogical extremism. The preponderance of that was White Supremacy. Over the last ten years, 76 of terrorist attacks are associated with right wing. That means throughout inentire period of isis and some of al qaeda, for ten years, more people have died by huge margins, more people have died from rightwing extremism, mostly violent White Supremacy and violent antigovernment attacks from the right side of the political spectrum. Im sorry, repeat that statistic one more time, because its jaw dropping. So in the last ten years, 76 of terrorist attacks have come from the right wing in our country. It is remarkable when you consider what gets focused on. Cornell belcher, there are voters out there, and we just heard from some of them, who say theyre undecided in this election. And theyre looking to the debates to help them decide. I know there are people who are screaming at their television right now and saying that cannot be possible. You cannot at this point be undecided who you want to vote for, the two men are diametrically opposite. From your polling perspective, with an issue like this thats on the table and has been on the table now for five years, whats your interpretation of those who say, hey, i just dont know yet . My interpretation is, if you are still at this point undecided, and by the way, for context, though, katy, we do have a smaller swath of swing voters or undecided voters than we typically do. A lot of the polling has shown you have less than 10 of voters broadly are open to changing. So we are at a different place. However, that said, if you are still undecided at this point and still undecided after watching that debate last night, youre going to break for donald trump. And i think the truth of the matter is, because racism and sexism and being unhinged, it doesnt bother you. And because heres the thing, look, biden has a 10 to 12point lead in the polling. I think washington posts poll or actually nbc polling came out showing double digit lead. Biden isnt going to win by 12 points, so this race is going to tighten. Its going to tighten because the voters still sitting on the fence, if you havent seen enough of this in the last three years, youre probably going to break towards the president. So we shouldnt get ourselves set that joe biden is going to win the president ial election by 12 or 13 points. By the way, you dont have to. And its probably not going to happen because a lot of these voters are still sitting out there. I do have to also emphasize this, katy, because i was taken aback by the president calling out White Supremacists to be on stand by. Because as someone who is a minority in this country, that is potential violence towards me and my family members and my friends who want to vote and participate in our elections. I have never seen anything quite like this, and how its acceptable on any level, and how any republican, not about partisanship, but how any decent american can be okay or be silent when the president of the United States tells White Supremacists or terrorist organizations to be on the stand by regarding our elections is unfathomable. Elizabeth, quickly to you. When the president says stand by, that message is heard. Theyre using it as a rallying cry. What concerns you . When he said it last night, my initial thought was, like, this is going to, and it has, we now have evidence, it is going to encourage recruitment to White Nationalist causes. Its going to incite violence. Its going to encourage people to do, maybe they dont associate themselves with White Supremacy, but theyre part of a Militia Group and theyre going to view that as permission for them to take up arms and take it upon themselves to protect their polling places. And all of these are inappropriate responses to a democratic process. Its Law Enforcements job, who are trained and know how to appropriately interact with the public. Its Law Enforcements job to protect our polling places. We do not need the militia to selfdeploy and do that. But i think the more insidious disgusting thing is that i can understand in the context of debate with a lot of cross talk, and you even hear conservatives on their media streams, saying things like, well, he did condemn it. He said sure. Okay, fine. Like, if you want to think that he condemned it, then thats fine, but he wasnt clear, and we need him to clearly condemn this. So have him come out and clarify. It has now been 18 hours. He has not clarified and therefore hes pretty much endorsing this behavior, and intending it either be ambiguous or out and out racist. That is unacceptable for the president of the United States to be that way. There were reporters at the white house with cameras who would put a camera on him and allow him to clarify his remarks if he so chose. He also has a twitter account which hes been using all morning, all afternoon. And he so far, unless hes done it in the last 30 seconds, has not clarified what he said or what he meant by stand by. His aides are trying to do it on television. His campaign aides. But the president of the United States is not clarifying himself. Which should tell you a lot. Elizabeth neumann, thank you so much. Cornell belcher, thank you as well. More than 200,000 people have lost their lives to coronavirus. Cases are also still surging in 25 states. Thats half the country. But last night, the president again defended his response and publicly contradicted his health officials. First up, though, a month from the 2020 election, and republicans are still all wrapped up in 2016. Today, they brought james comey, james comey, back to testify again. There he is. Oh, wow. Youre doing, uh, youre doing really great with the twirling. Dad, if you want to talk, i have a break at 3 00. Okay, okay. Im going. Im gone. Like like i wasnt here. [ horn honks ] keep keep doing it, buddy. Switch to progressive and you can save hundreds. You know, like the sign says. Switch to progressive and you can save hundreds. Noand if youre troubledan a liby falls and bleeds, ners. Worry follows you everywhere. Over 100,000 people have left blood thinners behind with watchman. Its a onetime, minimally invasive procedure that reduces stroke risk and bleeding worryfor life. Watchman. Its one time. For a lifetime. Mr. Comey, on a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the top of the line grade, how would you rate the crossfire hurricane investigation in terms of being done thoroughly by the book and investigation the fbi should be proud of . Im not sure i can apply a number scale, but i would say in the main, it was done by the book. It was appropriate, and it was essential that it be done. So youre proud of it . Overall, im proud of the work. There are parts of it that are concerning, which im sure well talk about, but overall, im proud of the work. With just six weeks left before the november 3rd elections, james comey appeared on the hill to testify before the Senate Judiciary committee. Republicans pressed the former fbi director whether the investigation into 2016 Trump Campaigns ties to russia was legitimate. Comey again defending the inquiry and he was worried like 2016, the current election might be influenced by russian disinformation. Are you concerned that trump will embrace and use russian interference efforts to his advantage. Excuse me. As he did in 2016 . Well, im a private citizen now so as a private citizen, yes. If you had to convey one message to the American People about the persistent threat of russia in our democracy or any foreign interference, what would it be . Know that a nation that does not have americas best interests at heart wants to reelect donald trump. Let that sink in. Let it guide how you think about the way we ought to conduct ourselves going forward. Joining me now, former fbi counterintelligence agent peter strzok. His book compromised counterintelligence and the threat of donald j. Trump is out now. Also, former u. S. Attorney and law professor at the university of alabama, joyce vance. Joyce, i want to start with you and comeys testimony. Republicans are trying to relitigate what happenedint 2016, relitigate this investigation, and comey is not backing down from it. Hes not backing down, and hes right to not back down because the underlying issue here is that if the fbi hadnt investigated, if there had been, as there were, credible allegations of russian interference in the 2016 election, and People Associated with the Trump Campaign who appeared to have some unusual connections with russia, and if the fbi had not investigated, then the fbi would have been roundly criticized. And the reality here is its possible that there were errors made in obtaining fisa warrants, but that didnt do anything to undercut the need, the predication for this investigation. Thats what dojs Inspector General found. No undue political influence here. Something interesting came out yesterday from dni john ratcliffe, peter, where i guess this memo appears to show that Hillary Clinton approved of russia hacking into the dnc. This is what the says. To stir up a scandal against u. S. President ial candidate donald trump by tying thime putin and the russians hacking of the Democratic National committee. Basically saying that she approved of this in order to distract from her emails. Since this was released, both Lindsey Graham and dni ratcliffe have said they dont think the allegations are even true. So why release this . Whats going on . To distract from the real issue. I mean, the administration, whether its director wray, whether its folks in the dni, have said russia right now is doing everything they can, directed by putin, to reelect donald trump. So when i look at this reporting, it doesnt make a lot of sense, and youll note its a summary in the letter, but none of the underlying material has been released. I dont know if thats been declassified or not but it strikes me as very odd, both a nonissue and something thats entirely designed to distract from the very real problem we have right now coming from russia. Peter, you talk about how you were disappointed there wasnt a full investigation, financial investigation into the president s finances. We got a look at his taxes in the past few days. What stands out to you . Well, there are numerous vulnerabilities. If trump tried to apply for a job in the u. S. Intelligence community, he could not get a clearance. One thing you look at is income from foreign sources and debt. That would have precluded people from getting clearances or recommended removal for much less. At the same time, i have used vulnerabilities like that to recruit people. The issue isnt so much that all that money is there. The issue is hes hiding it, and hes fighting tooth and nail for it to be concealed. When i see things like 73 million, 74 million in foreign income, more than 10 million from turkey alone, when i see 450 million, think of that, almost half a billion in debt coming due over the next four years, thats not a financial issue. Thats a National Security issue. We wouldnt stand for that in anybody in the u. S. Intelligence community. And its absolutely something we should be very worried about in the presence of our commander in chief. Peter strzok and joyce vance, thank you very much. And it was promised today, but we will not be getting the grand jury audio in the Breonna Taylor case after all. Why kentuckys attorney general says he needs more time. But first, more than 200,000 people are lost, and that is a number that is still rising. But the president continues to defend his respanse to the pandemic, while also continuing to publicly disagree with his own health officials. Where do we go from here . Find your rhythm. It is another day of big developments in the fight against the coronavirus. Lets update the facts as we know them at this hour. Treasury secretary Steve Mnuchin met with Speaker Pelosi in her office last hour to resume talks on a bipartisan reloof package. Its unclear how close to came to a deal, but it was the first inperson discussion between the two in over a month. House democrats are preparing to vote on their 2. 2 trillion relief bill as early as this afternoon. Seven former fda commissioners have written a joint oped in the washington post. In it, they argue that President Trump has undermined the agency by threatening to reject its guidance on a coronavirus vaccine. They also expressed fear that the president s involvement is damaging public trust in the agency and in any vaccine it approves. That is borne out in the polling as well. Indoor dining resumes today in new york city. Restaurants are now able to welcome customers inside at 25 capacity. But yesterday, the city also reported its most covid cases since june. Mayor bill de blasio did not rule out changing the new dining rules if cases continue to increase. The nfl postponed this sundays Tennessee Titans game after eight members of the team tested positive for the virus. The Team Suspended operations and closed its facilities. As have the minnesota vikings, the team that played the titans last weekend. And the current count of the people that have died in this country from coronavirus stands at 207,000. And more than 7. 2 million have been infected, but when the pandemic came up during the debate, President Trump defended his response. His own head of the cdc said if we just wore masks between now if everybody wore a mask and social distanced between now and january, we would save up to 100,000 lives. It matters. They have also said the opposite. No serious person said the opposite. No serious person. What about dr. Fauci . Its all set up. By easter, this would be gone away. By the warm weather, it would be gone. Miraculous, like a miracle, and by the way, maybe you could inject bleach in your arm. That was said sarcastically. It wasnt said sarcastically. And even if it was said sarcastically, does that make it better . This afternoon, joe biden got an uninterrupted chance to answer the president and accused him of deflecting when the American People need answers. Trumps constant disregard and unwillingness to speak to covid and the fact that 205,000 people have already died and over 7 million are infected, its likely to get worse, he didnt want to talk about it at all. Joining me now is the director of columbia universitys National Center for disaster preparedness, dr. Irwin redlener. Dr. Redlener, im sure you were watching the debate last night. I want to get your take. Well, it was astounding. First of all, just the atmospherics there were incredible. Almost making it impossible to watch, and certainly impossible to learn anything. I think the discussion such as it was about covid was particularly nonilluminating with the president talking over joe biden repeatedly, incessantly, and when he did speak and did make himself clear, he was actually either dishonest or just fabricating information thats not true. So it was a very difficult thing to watch, but the reality is, were not getting any more honesty or transparency from trump than we have gotten over the last six, eight months now. Its really problematic. I think joe biden tried to present his position, did a reasonably good job of it considering all the static and yelling that was coming from the president of the United States in the most undistinguished, indistinguished fashion imaginable. It was really a tough watch, katy. Donald trump also defended his rallies, saying they were all outside. They havent all been outside. He also greatly inflated the number of people that were at his events. Thats no surprise. He does that. But he said that there were no negative effects from him getting people together. Im sure there were a lot of people out there who were screaming the name herman cain, who died pretty shortly after attending a trump rally from coronavirus. Unclear where he got it. Can the president make that claim that there were no negative effects . No, he certainly cannot. There were plenty of negative effects. And how well they were tracked and traced and so on, thats a problem. But he had many, many, you know, he called them large, but they were sort of moderate sized campaign events, including one in tulsa not too many weeks ago where it was one third full. The arena, but the people that were there on the ground floor were crowded together, shoulder to shoulder, no masks. The president s defiance about masks has been permeating every single public appearance hes made, and hes really undermined our ability to get this straight, to do the things that we know will save lives and prevent the spread of the disease like the masks and social distancing and the hand washing. And this has been a very terrible time in the history of americas otherwise sterling reputation as the leader in Public Health around the world, and you know, its going to be a hard thing to fix, actually, even if joe biden gets elected. Its going to take a long time to reestablish the credibility and the reliability of the agencies which trump seems to be intentionally undermining, katy. New york citys opening up dining inside today. 25 capacity. Do you expect it to remain open . Do you expect there to be any consequences . Well, unfortunately, i think its a pretty good bet were going to get a resurgence even in the places that have been pretty pristine about preventing covid over the last couple months, and new york has been in the leadership there, but i am worried about a resurgence. Im worried about enforcement of the 25 capacity rules and making sure that people other than when theyre actually eating and drinking are Wearing Masks and all of the staff in the restaurant are Wearing Masks and so on. This is a very hard time. Katy, particularly since we really dont have the point of care Rapid Reliable Testing that we need to really keep things under control. I mean, well see what happens, but im not sanguine about the idea this is going to be sustained over time. Well see. But its going to be monitored carefully for sure in new york, and well have to see how it goes. We still dont have rapid testing. How remarkable is that . It is nearly october. Kentuckys attorney general has until friday to publicly release records related to grand jury that declined to indict Police Officers in the death of Breonna Taylor, everyday presented to the grand jury was supposed to be released today. Daniel camerons office asked for another week. The judge gave him two days. This comes as a grand juror in the case seeks permission to speak publicly in an unusual move, the jury filed for the release of the transcripts. If you watched the press conference after the reading of the indictment, the attorney general laid a lot of responsibility at the grand jurors feet. Does your clint believe that the attorney general lied during that press conference . My client wants to make sure that the truth gets out, anything that happens in there becomes public knowledge. Joining me now is paul butler. That lawyer there saying the injury wants to make sure that truth gets out, thats striking. This attorney generals been running for cover since last week when he announced no charges against any of the officers for killing breon taylor. Last week Daniel Cameron tried to make it sound like it was the grand jury that made the decision and he was just the messenger, this week we learned his office, that serves as the Legal Adviser to the grand jury didnt recommend any homicide charges like murder or manslaughter against the officers, and katy, the kentucky grand jury consists of 12 ordinary citizens, they dont know homicide law and the pr prosecutors is to supposed on to be their legal the jury almost certainly didnt consider those charges. Really interesting. Paul butler, the president is on his way to minnesota and hes just stopped to talk to reporters as he heads out. This happened a couple of moments ago. Were getting taped playback. Lets listen in. I thought the debate was great. Weve gotten tremendous reviews on. Were hitting law and order which biden was unable to talk about it, because his radical left followers. I thought it was a great evening. Exciting evening. It was good to be there. Felt really comfortable. I appreciate the good words. Were going now and were going to have a big rally. Mr. President said that the proud boys to stand back and stand by. Youll have to give me the devils of the proud boys. They have to stand down. Let Law Enforcement do their work. Law enforcement will do the work more and more. As people see how this radical liberal movement is, the Law Enforcement is going to come back stronger and stronger. I dont know who the proud boys are. They have to stand down. Let Law Enforcement do their work. Mr. President , you speech, stand by just stand by. Look, Law Enforcement will do their work. Theyre going to stand down. They have to stand down. Everybody, whatever group youre talking about, let Law Enforcement do their work. An tifa is the real problem. The problem is on the left. Joe biden refuses to issue the words law and order. So, hes got to condemn antifa, a very bad group. Mr. President , White Supremacy they support you, you welcome that. I want law and order to be a very important part, its a very important part of my campaign. When i say that, what im talking about is law enforce m, police have to take care they should stop defunding the police. Like they did in new york. Do you denounce them any form of any form of any of that. You have to denounce. But i also joe biden has to Say Something about antifa, its not a philosophy, people who hit people over the head with baseball bats. Hes got to come out and hes got to be strong and hes got to condemn antifa. Very important that he does that. On the election i cant hear a word youre saying. I cant hear. The other two debates will coming up i hear he doesnt want to go forward. Its up to him. Wh what about him . I would like. I thought he was very weak. He was whining. Yeah, we won the debate by almost every poll that i saw. If you look at the various polls, i looked at about six of them we won all six. I hear he wants to get out of the debates. Thats up to him. Why are you afraid does that concern you it does concern me and crime generally concerns me. Any form of crime. Let Law Enforcement take care of it. We had problem in new york, that have 100,000 ballots that are in a mess, all confused. Theyre going to redo them. What are they going to do with the 100,000 ballots being sent. Its a big, big scale problem. 100,000 ballots went out to new york with the wrong names on it, wrong e we lopes. Now they want to redo the ballots. That doesnt help. This is exactly what im talking about. Can i follow up to that mr. President the 20th of january there wont be. There wont be. Its still interesting that the president cant say the words together at a row, i can condemn White Supremacy, hes trying to say he doesnt know who the proud boys are, you know its been 18 hours of it being covered on cable news left and right, i think he probably does know who they are, if he doesnt, one of his aides might want to whisper in his ears. He refers to Law Enforcement, let Law Enforcement take care of this. Lot of people have been making this the point, the pattern of the president of the United States, he claimed he didnt know who david duke was, both sides in charlottesville, he hasnt condemn white supre supremeacists. One reporter asked, White Supremacists love you. Proud boys are calling donald trump their leader. The reporter asked, hey, listen, these people love you, can you say you dont want their support . He deferred to Law Enforcement. Hes not condemning White Supremacists in a full sentence. He always kind of tries to weekle out of it. We saw it again here just now. That does it for me today. Ayman mohyeldin is here. Hell pick up our coverage. Ayman, you were watching along. Did you hear the same thing i did . No doubt about it. Always a but. The sentence is never completely a pure don dem nation of White Supremacy. Its just one of those mindboggling things to hear the president just come out and say those words clearly and succinctly. Hes done that for five years. Part of the 2016 campaign. Still continuing to do this day. Ayman, ill leave it here and let you go for the next hour. Take it away. Thank you so much. Good afternoon, everyone. Im ai man mohyeldin here in new york. Well get into that press conference we just heard there. But 90 minutes ago the commission on president ial debates saying, theyll make changes by the next time President Trump and Vice President biden meet on that debate stage in miami on october 15th. Quote, last nights debate made clear that additional structure should be added to the format of the remaining debates to ensure
