I think there are some huge elements under concerns. Hes been under arrest and investigation for over two years. I think hes prepared for this. There is a question whether Robert Mueller want him as a corroborating witness, if he did, what are the chances that roger stone be willing to cooperate . He said publicly hes not going to bare false witnesses against the president. Hes not going to make anything up. Hes a rarity. He believes that other people have lied against the president being cohen and also Jerome Corsey. There is a whole lot of misinformation out there and lack of truth. The fbi raided not just his home down in florida but an apartment in harlem. They thought you were there, right . I share a duplex with roger for the last couple of years. I moved a couple of weeks ago, there is nothing there. What do you think theyre looking for . Information regarding wikileaks, guccifer and any collusion, that type of thing. He did not have anything other than he disclose which was a tweet conversation from what i have been told for years now and i testified as such into the special counsel in august. Two weeks later, critico was subpoenaed. David lugo had filmed roger for a documentary, he told the story in public in front of numerous people at my apartment. Did roger stone have conversations with you about wikileaks and whether how we can help donald trump . He had a conversation with me which i also testified in front of the special counsel. He says he did not have any memory and documentations. There is a ton of messages that have that. Good example. I testify for the special counsel, i dont remember 50 of what they ask you. You are under a lot of pressure and it is very intimidating. We also dont have the context in which that conversation, that testimony, we have only seen three or four lines where he said no. How many times did you ask him . What hour was this in to the testimony and in what context . We can look at the charges and witness tampering. He told critico to pull a character from the god father and go in front of congress. Roger kept saying that randy critico he publicly denied that when a number of us present. No, roger was saying tell the truth. We are only seeing snippet of that conversation. Ari melber is a platform which he came on that show numerous times. We have only seen rogers response. I have seen randy critico getting into a fight with stone after harassing me on my campaign. Hes an awful human being. You know Donald Trumps orbit in some ways better than most people do. I know you dont know anybody thats involved in this. The special counsel have come up with person after person who have lied about russia one way or another. Why is everybody lying about the same subject . I dont believe collusion happened and if it did, it did not happen for team trump. I dont remember a year ago. Well, i mean i think everybody at that time, every political journalist out there was trying to find out what wikileaks had. You are asking 10 million different people what it is and people are talking about it, you cant remember every Single Person you spoke with. Do you think a bunch of people suddenly have a lapse of memory when it came to one particular subject . I dont know. I dont know other peoples intent. I only know roger because i have been friend with him as with hi with him off and on for years. I know his intent from the beginning not to lie. He testified to clear his name. Hes not a stupid man. Obviously hes not going to go on with the intent to lie because he was not subpoenaed. He did that willingly and he was getting barraided in public. Does he have any regrets in 2016 of the way he behaves. I believe all he wants to do is clear his name thank you for telling us what you know. She does not want anything bad to happen to him. I understand that. It is incumbent at the government to prove to the jury unanimously and prove beyond a reasonable doubt, they were intentional. That burden is on the government and it will remain on the government. I have read the indictment carefully several times. If the government con proan pro trial, this is an easy case. I have no question about that in my mind. Chuck, what we have seen so far and heard from a number of people. Betsy, i know you heard this as well who have been interviewed by the special counsel. They seem to be looking heavily as a back channel between wikileaks and between the campaign, between russia itself and guccifer 2. 0 character that was created to mass russian intelligence. Theyre looking at him closely. What we have so far, roger stone at least trying to get that information, he was not charged with conspiracy. What do you make of that and what is the most generous reading of that . The most generous reading of that is he did not conspire. It is entirely possible that the investigation of stone and his role continues. Why do i say that . Well, with his arrest, they executed two search warrants. In order to get a search warrant from a federal judge, you have to prove to her that there is a crime thats been committed and evidence of that crime at the place you want to search. That tells me they are still investigating his role. It is not just his arrest or indictment but also the simultaneously execution of search warrants katy, that tells me there is an Ongoing Investigation of what he did and what he did seems to be, if you read the stones indictment conspires at least certain other senior Trump Campaign officials and with wikileaks to dump the stolen emails into the public sphear. Look at this from the daily beast. Why use the voice here . Betsy, what do you make of it . So if they were to potentially characterize that person or make it easier to understand who it was, that can put them in a gray area when it comes to those roles. Muellers team unquestionably is weighing, the political significance of each of these indictments. Were mueller to file an indictment thats zeroed in for instance, hypothetically on the president himself or his son or soninlaw. Thats something that would ratchet pressure on the president. The president could potentially have some sort of criminality in to the people surrounding him. I dont have inside knowledge for the Mueller Investigation. It is undoubtable and it goes without saying, it is a consideration that they weigh when they put that together . Chuck . I agree. The paragraph that you referred to is paragraph 12. It is the one that immediately caught my eye for a Senior Campaign official to be directed in that Senior Campaign official. I think betsy is right. There is nOngoing Investigation. We may see conspiracy charges or we may not. It depends on whatever the muellers team have assemble. Mr. Stone is quite right that his life has to be both material and intentional. Living paycheck to paycheck is not middle class. Sure it is. Middle class is an income level. Yes, but if wages are not growing and the cost of living is higher then certainly the income level that you are talking about that used to be middle class is no longer that. Thats simply incorrect. How is that middle class . The Median Income in this country have gone up 6,000 a year. You just said there is no middle class anymore. Thats a crazy thing to say. Not in a traditional sense. The strength in the middle class does not match what it used to be. Watch the 2020 elections are going to be fought trying to get middle class voters to vote for you. My point is when you look at how these tax plans, not my point, but my question. Those issues are not partisan. The fact that people cant buy food if they miss one paycheck is a result of the wild disconnect between the super rich and people going to work everyday. Because jeff bezos is not raising the wages of the people thats working for him and allowing them to have this great amount of wealth. I mean they may be open to the ideas but everything you said is disconnected from everything else. What does jeff bezos pay structure at amazon has to do with 800,000 workers or workers living from paycheck to paycheck. The white house sort of backed away from this in an active way. Theyre allowing this to be a congressional progress where you have lawmakers who do know a great deal of how the process works. If all members of congress have a certain skill level and you have specialists among them, there are people on capitol hill whose specialty is appropriation, knowing how to work the budget. So to give room for those negotiators on this team to do their work with this limited time horizon sources here in the white house are saying the white house sort of backing off. They do not have quote on quote see at the table in this phase of things. Ultimately when they reach a point when they conclude something and it becomes legislation and some forth then the white house would have an offer down on the product on this. We are kind of in the period where the administration have stepped back from this process after a bruising experience with the shutdown and how it played out politically. Purdue continue to aggressively markets its opioid and down plaid the potential of abuse and addiction. While the Opioid Crisis was raging, purdue and sackler quote, they studied unlawful tactics to keep pay thents on opioids and then ordered staff to use them. You were considered one of the four most experts in this field. This lawsuit is making some really serious allegations. The Sackler Family, they have the communications to back it up so it seems. They did not care about the victims of their doctorirugs. They cared more about profits. Thats right. The sacklers were interested in seeing their medication prescribed as much as possible and didnt care particularly in europe where they were releasing the drugs if it was released without the proper control. They wanted profits. They did not care about people becoming addicted or dying of overdoses. Whats disturbing is as the epidemic they unleashed was getting worse. They frame the issue as if all the problems we were hearing about was with oxycontin were limited to drug abusers and millions of patients were being helped. It was not true but it was an effective strategy and it is one that policymakers fell more for many years. Whats the reality of what oxycon oxycontin does and who are victims to it. Patients who take oxycontin even as directed can become addicted. The harm impact people with chronic pain. We have seen millions of americans with chronic pain being addicted to opioids and thousands have lost their lives to overdoses. Where does oxycontin stand among opioids. Purdue is quick to tell journalists why is everybody looking at us, we are only 2 of prescription. They account for small number of percentage of prescriptions. If you measure opioid consumption in terms of wait opioid consumed. Their pills pack an enormous dose and prescribed patients onto longterm. Some thats really important to understand is that when purdue released oxycontin, they certainly promoted that specific drug. One of the main things they did was to promote opioid as a classic drug. Much of their marking was unbranded. It was not just oxycontin that went up. It all went up as a consequenc s of their campaign. Is this lawsuit alleging that the purdue family, the Sackler Family is liable for the deaths of thousands or if not hundreds of thousands of people. Thats correct. Thats what the state of massachusetts is arguing that the sacklers should be held liable. What we have not seen yet but what i hope we see is criminal charges against the sacklers. When a corporation kills people in its pursuit of profit, paying a fine or civil penalty is not adequate. It does not serve as a deterrent. It can be seen as a cause of doing business. If we want to deter this from happening in the future, they should be held criminally responsible. If they do and becoming civilly liable and found civilly liable and say this bankrupts the company, what message is it going to send of criminal allegations or criminal charges. It is not just litigation against purdue and the Sackler Family. States are suing j j and endo. This is really important, it is important for few reasons. We want to learn our lessons so we deter companies from doing this in the future. We want to stop these Drug Companies from continuing to promote its aggressive use of products. Potentially correct.
