And other countries. 80 it will resolve on their own. The woman who is now tested positive shes at home. Shes not even in the hospital. So the perspective here is important. And the facts once you know the facts, once you know the reality, it is reassuring and we should relax because thats what dictated by the reality of the situation. I get the emotion. I understand it. I understand the anxiety. Im a native born new yorker. We live with anxiety. But the facts dont back it up here. Also, were extrapolating from what happened in china and other countries. We have the best Health Care System in the world here. And excuse our arrogance as new yorkers, i speak for the mayor also on this one. We think we have the best Health Care System on the planet right here in new york. We have. So when youre saying what happened in other countries versus what happened here, we dont even think its going to be as bad as it was in other countries. We are fully coordinated, we are fully mobilized. This is all about mobilization of a Public Health system. Getting the testing done, getting the information out. And then having the Health Care Resources to treat people who are going to need help. Again, that is going to be primarily Senior Citizens, people who are debilitated and were going to have a special effort for our nursing homes, et cetera. Congregate facilities where Senior Citizens are being treated. And i cant thank our partners enough. Everybody is doing exactly what we need to do. It was a big break when the federal government allowed us to do our own testing because with now were actually in control of the system ourselves. And as new yorkers, we like control. So with that, let me turn it over to the good mayor of the city of new york. Thank you very much, governor. And governor, first of all, a compliment to your daughter, the apple doesnt fall far from the tree. She is asking the tough socratic questions that youre known for. I think its a great vignette to use, to help everyone understand whats going on. Particularly look as a parent, i want to say i know parents all over the city have been deeply concern concerned. I want you to heed the points that the governor just made. This is a disease were learning about. The International Medical community is learning about but so far it does not seem to be the disease that focuses on our kids. In fact, the opposite. Button point the vignette with your daughter, the facts are reassuring. All new yorkers should really Pay Attention to this. The information is showing us things that should give us more reason to stay calm and go about our lives. Also, i have once difference with the governors remarks we i do think we have the best Health Care System in the world, we know we do. And its a credit to everyone here and i want to thank each and every one of you and all of the professionals who work with you a credit us to. Ill take it. In the private in the voluntary hospitals and the public Health Care System theres no parallel on earth. So theres a lot of places for new yorkers to turn for help. I want to emphasize today how important it is to turn for that help to go get that help, the second you think you might need it. So the fact you have been listening to mayor big de blasio alongside the governor of new york, andrew cuomo, giving an update on the coronavirus. Both of them confirming the first case of the virus in new york city. Its a woman who she and her husband are both at home currently. She contracted it in condition right now is considered mild. She apparently took no Public Transit since her return to the u. S. You have that case in new york as we learn of two cases in southwest florida making a total of at least 89 in the u. S. Two of them deadly with Washington State confirming the second coronavirus death and theres likely more to come. One top Government Health official said hes concerned well see more Community Related cases. In omaha, nebraska, patients quarantined from the diamond princess cruise ship are set to be released so were watching that as well. All of it part of our coast to coast coverage. Ron allen in new york city. Gadi schwartz in seattle. In new york we have the director of the center for disease preparedness at columbia university. Ron, staying in new york here, what we heard from Governor Cuomo especially echoed by mayor de blasio was the reality is reassuring. People should not be freaking out. People should not be panicking at this point. One of the big words i heard was containment thats what theyre trying to do now. And thats what theyre emphasizing with this woman, the Health Care Worker who is 39 here in manhattan and ill. They have tried to contact everyone she may have come in contact with to try to determine exactly the extent of any other spread of the disease. Theyre doing with that with anyone who comes in contact with this disease. Theyre trying to increase screening at the airports. Because as you heard the governor and mayor say, quite obviously, a lot of people come to new york from all over the world. Theyre also ramping up testing. Youll remember when the cdc sent out test kits weeks ago, a lot of them were faulty or creating problems. New york now has the ability to test on the spot and get results immediately. As does connecticut and new jersey. All those developments just in the past couple of days. So the hope is that now that they can test and the governor said as many as a thousand people being tested in a weeks time or so, theyre trying to understand exactly what the extent of the problem is so then they can attack it. Theyre also the governor says passing a bill for 40 million for additional staff or Additional Resources for Health Care Workers and as you heard him also say this is not the first time new york or the United States has gone through this. There have been other Infectious Diseases that have hit the city and the country. They know what to do. Theres a confidence there you heard. But of course the bottom line is that people have to remain calm. They have to do what is necessary to prepare. And they have to as you put it not freak out or not panic. Right. Interesting to me that he made the fact that in fact this woman has not taken Public Transit that she took a car service from the airport back home. Of course thats a big concern here in new york, riding the subway or the buses. Its a place that people come in close contact but as so many others have been saying, there is an inevitability to this. Theres going to be more cases and the governor and others are saying just be prepared. Dont panic. Hopefully we can deal with this as we have dealt with so many other things in the past. One of the places we already have seen more cases, gadi schwartz, in kirkland, washington. We are expecting to learn some more today about the two deaths in the area that are linked to coronavirus, right . Yeah. Thats right, hallie. Just listening to the press conference happening in new york its interesting because new york is where Washington State was about a month ago. They had a 30yearold come to Washington State from wuhan when they got back to the United States, they felt ill. They took a test a few days later, around january 18th, january 19th. It was the first case that we saw in the United States. Now, heres where it gets a little bit tricky. Six weeks later, there was a high schooler up in the county, he took a flu test because he was feeling ill. It turns out a very similar strain, very similar genetically composed strain of the coronavirus was found with him. So the big difference between Washington State and new york is those test kits. There was about a six week gap between the first case and the case we just saw which meant that the belief is that the virus was traveling from person to person to person undetect, untested. Now Washington State is testing here in the state. Theyre not sending out the tests to get the immediate results. Theyre able to do that here so theyre able to see a lot more of these coronavirus instances. Two of them have been fatal here in Washington State. But its important to note that both of them are elderly people with underlying medical conditions. Thank you. Dr. Red land, let me go to you. Because you have an oped out now talking about the issues here. Writing that the coronavirus is a pandemic and we are not prepared. Can you explain that . Yeah. So first of all, i want to echo what the governor and the mayor said. New york is among the most prepared and experienced on this kind of issue than anywhere i know of. Im talking about the national readiness. When we were talking about avian flu and other kinds of flu for example in 2009, it was estimated by the federal authorities that we would need Something Like 740,000 mechanical ventilators and the total stockpile in the u. S. Then was a fraction of that. Its a little bit better now, but in general as a country wish the entire country was doing the kind of things that new york is doing. But we have a lot of work to do before we can declare ourselves prepared. By the way, even if we had lets just take this example of the mechanical ventilators. Even if we had seriously enough for everybody, we dont have the number of technicians needed to operate them and make sure everything going properly. The second thing has been referred to the issue with the testing. South korea has done 60,000 tests. 8,000 or 9,000 or 10,000 a day and we have a lot of catching up to do and we would have been in better shape if the cdc had its act together a few weeks ago. Im really glad that we have the capacity now in new york. Very quickly whats the next thing you want to see from the cdc and Health Officials today, tomorrow, in the coming hours . So id like to see them make sure that they have got the capacity for the tremendous number of testing kits not like new york. Number one. Number two as i think we need to find that, you know, that balance between complacency and panic. This is a pandemic, we still have to kind of monitor and do our normal things and send the kids to school, so on. But the other big thing this goes for any locality and for the federal government. Once we say we got to the point lets say where were closing schools, thats not a casual decision. I mean, think about that. We have parents who, you know, cant afford to take off work. Kids will have to be staying at home and somebody has to watch them, what happens to the family income, the economy, so on. So we need people with a lot of imagination to try to understand the cascading consequences of whatever the next steps well take. Doctor, i appreciate that perspective and that analysis. Thank you for being with us. We have a lot more to get to this because were live on the 2020 campaign trail. Pete buttigieg is now gone from the race but far from forgotten. Especially on the mind of team biden. Plus, breaking news from the Supreme Court in just in the last few minutes. What new case justices have agreed to hear and why timing is everything. Voluntary. Vulnerable. Voluntary. So it is now less than 24 hours until super tuesday and less than 36 until we find out how this race will change again. Democrats hitting the ground hard this morning. Publicly and privately. Our new reporting on aggressive behind the scenes move by joe biden. Those secret talks with Pete Buttigieg, how close we are or are not from the endorsement and maybe a way for Bernie Sanders. You could be the launching pad to the path to beat donald trump. In a couple of minutes in the show well have joe bidens Deputy Campaign manager joining us. But first, let me start with the road warriors blanketing the super tuesday states. Mike memoli, Shaquille Brewster and Josh Lederman is here in washington where Michael Bloomberg wrapped up remarks. And with us in raleigh, Yamiche Alcindor from pbs news hour. Mike, let me start with you, because you have some new reporting about joe biden and Pete Buttigieg connecting on the phone, whats going on . Yeah, thats right, hallie. An awful lot has changed for the Biden Campaign in the last 48 hours since the big victory in South Carolina. We knew yesterday that the two, joe biden and Pete Buttigieg had tried to connect by phone, trading some voice mails as their campaigns are separately having conversations with each other about consolidating support around the former Vice President. Along with Vaughn Hillyard we can confirm that they did connect this morning so we know that the conversations im sitting down with do you know what we said . So well have a chance to ask him we dont know yet. But as i mentioned im going to sit down with the Vice President. You can be sure thats one of the first questions i ask him in the next hour. But what we have seen here for the biden team is really quite a turnaround. Theyre seeing a surge in support in terms of fundraising. Raising 10 million in the last just two days. Thats more than they raised most months in this campaign. Youre seeing a surge in the crowd surge on the road. Yesterday more than 2,000 people in virginia. And certainly a surge in support from other democrats. Theres a wave of new endorsements coming especially from members of congress as biden himself tries to make this a twoperson race in the eyes of many democratic voters. What hasnt changed ahead of super tuesday hes still outmanned and outgunned on the air. Thats why you see him focus still heavily on africanamerican voters thats what hell be doing in houston trying to replicate the success in texas ahead of super tuesday. So you have biden talking with Pete Buttigieg, potentially. Maybe about the possibility right for an endorsement, do we think that could be on the table . That was certainly i think first and foremost the question that a lot of us had when we hear them talking about consolidating support. What better way for mayor pete to help consolidate the support behind the former Vice President by coming out with a public endorsement. One interesting thing we know that mayor pete was supposed to be heading to dallas yesterday when he decided to head home to south bend. No indication that theyre going to be doing a joint event together but it would be an interesting development. Yeah, theyre trying to consolidate support against Bernie Sanders and what you are hearing about how they move forward into what could be a huge day for them. Well, theyre still feeling good. You know, hallie its clear that in South Carolina they took a bigger blow than they expected. They thought that they were going to be able to close that margin. They werent able to do that. But when you look at where senator sanders has been and where he is going, its clear where he feels good. He this weekend it was boston, massachusetts. It was california. Big rallies that he saw there and then today hes here in utah and then going off to minnesota. When you look at the polling in many of these states, the polling in california, the polling in texas. These big delegate rich states this candidate feels like feels like they have an opportunity to really rack up some delegates and his support is build on the backs of young voters. Of latino voters, of progressive voters. So throughout his spots you have hearing him plea to the voters come out and vote. We want to have historic turnout. Thats something you continue to hear him say. Talking to aides and advisers about the shakeups that we have seen, a lot has changed since saturday with Vice President biden winning in South Carolina and then mayor Pete Buttigieg dropping out of the race. One advantage they believe they have is early voting. Some people have been voting for over a month now. So they feel like they have been able to lock in that lead, lock in the support that they believe they build through the month of february. Thats why theyre looking ahead to super tuesday knowing they can rack up some delegates and take a clear lead. Somebody on the ballot for the very first time in this race, we have been talking about is of course Michael Bloomberg. And josh, talk about we know whats at stake for him, right . A lot. Almost everything. Where is his campaigns head at, especially given what were seeing from buttigieg, from sanders as this race starts to consolidate here into the two candidates, and what our team at first read calls a 2 1 2 man race, if you will. Yeah, theres no question, hallie, that the situation has changed dramatically in the last 72 hours or so for Michael Bloomberg. As far as his rationale about being the most viable candidate to defeat trump. And the Bloomberg Campaign said theres no chance hell drop out before tomorrow. After all, he spent more than half a billion dollars already on this race. Pretty much all focused on trying to rack up delegates on super tuesday. So Michael Bloomberg speaking here at aipac, the pro israeli conference a few minutes ago. Going hard after sanders. He called senator sanders out by name saying he was dead wrong for boycotting aipac and for his positions on israel. But Bloomberg Campaign officials that were speaking to tell us they understand hes under a lot of pressure right now as the party seems to be moving towards trying to consolidate around biden as an alternative but they say, look, he hasnt lost a single race. Michael bloomberg has not lost a contest. Thats because he hasnt been in a contest. Tomorrow will be the first time that hes on the ballot. But they say one victory in a primary for South Carolina does not a nominee make. After all, joe biden does not have the kind of ground operation in the super tuesday states that Michael Bloomberg has been building up over the last several months and the Bloomberg Campaign says that theyre goingic to that a strong look at what happens tomorrow to see if hes a viable person in addition to biden to go after sanders. Thank you. Bernie sanders and joe biden is virtually tied and i know you have been talking to voters on the ground there. What are you hearing from them . Well, there was a real palpable panic when Bernie Sanders was looking to be the frontrunner in the race. There was a palpable fear of him and then South Carolina happened. Then people started to coalesce around joe biden and i watched Pete Buttigiegs speech where he suspended his campaign with some North Carolina voters. Were seeing at least there may be a way for the moderates to come together. This really puts Amy Klobuchar and Elizabeth Warren in a touchy situation, makes it seem as though they have to drop out because it seems as though in their minds that they the voters minds theyre being irresponsible by taking up the delegates from joe biden. After what happened in South Carolina and after whats happening in california and where sanders will take a lot of delegates, they want to see the democratic party, the Establishment Democratic Party get behind one person. There are a lot of people who are looking at Bernie Sanders and saying, look, i like his ideas but i think hes going to scare a lot of people that we need to bring into the party. I was talking to people about the idea that joe biden of course has a really good lead when it comes to africanamericans. But they said if we put Bernie Sanders on the ballot, will people look at us and say hes a communist, will people use that language, of course Bernie Sanders is also making it very clear im a democratic socialist its a nuance, you need to understand that. But voters here in North Carolina said theyre worried about that and of course it as a threeway race. We have bloomberg, we have biden and sanders and people are looking at Michael Bloomberg saying you need to get out of the race. Thank you all for being with us. Our road warriors out in the field. We want to stay with 2020 and with super tuesday. Well get back to it later on in the show but the big breaking news out of the Supreme Court. Announcing just within the last hour it will consider the fate of obamacare once again. Nbcs Pete Williams is live for us outside the Supreme Court. Whats going on here and talk about the timing. This is a bit of a surprise here, because remember what happened late last year, obamacare was declared unconstitutional because of the federal mandate and it sent the case back to a judge and a number of states urged the Supreme Court to take it on the fast track and hear the case this term. The court has said no to that, but today the Supreme Court agreed to hear the case. So to timing, this case will be argued next term in the next term that begins in october. But it seems unlikely that the court will be argued before the election. So it means obamacare will be with us for at least another year, year and a half. The Supreme Court wont hear the case until the fall. They wont decide it until perhaps the end june of 2021. And of course the question here is is the individual mandate unconstitutional . The court has upheld it as a matter of taxing policy. But then the congress set the tax at zero so texas and a number of red states said well its not a tax anymore so you have to get rid of it. Pete williams live outside the Supreme Court. This is taking this off the table it sounds like for the 2020 election. Which had been an open question at least until this morning. Pete williams, thank you. Pete buttigieg is out of the 2020 race, but not out of the conversation. Quite literally a conversation that we have just now learned about between the now former candidate and the former Vice President , joe biden. What did they say . Pete buttigiegs decision to suspend the campaign coming hours after he planned to push forward into super tuesday and you know that stern speculation about maybe teaming one somebody still in the race. The buttigieg and Biden Campaigns have had talks about consolidating the support and aides for both campaigns are saying that they have spoken by phone this morning. Let me bring in Vaughn Hillyard. Once Pete Buttigieg announced his change of plans, not just on the travel front but on the Campaign Front as well, talk to us about what buttigieg is up today and what you see for him in next 48 hours. Still a part of the conversation, out of the race. Hallie, thats obviously the question. I was just talking with mike before he went on the air with you there. Aides we should note to both campaigns have confirmed that they have talked and that the talks would be around the idea of consolidating support around biden. Of course super tuesday is tomorrow. Ballots are already out. And at what point is a Pete Buttigieg endorsement able to help joe biden here ahead of super tuesday . Sooner rather than later. I mean were reaching out to Campaign Aides waiting for more context. Obviously this is a campaign that Pete Buttigieg waged for more than a year and we should note i think it is important Pete Buttigieg did not take any direct swipes at joe biden. He never took direct swipes at Elizabeth Warren either ever since New Hampshire. There was a video that the Biden Campaign put out back during ahead of the New Hampshire primary. I think you can call it condescending, belittling of buttigiegs experience. It was questioning well, joe biden was serving as Vice President , mayor buttigieg was focused more on side walks here in south bend and putting lights underneath the bridge to which he gave a measured response. Dont question the work being done in cities across the country, but despite the hits by Joe Biden Buttigieg continued to take a measured response over the course of the last two weeks. Even as the results came in in South Carolina and last night when he say him make that announcement suspending the race. Lets get some more context. Joining me is joe bidens campaign Deputy Campaign manager, kate bedingfield. Good morning to you. Hi, thanks for having me. So what with can you tell us about the conversation between your candidate and Pete Buttigieg . Well, not a whole lot more because i wont get into the private conversation that they had. But they certainly spoke and the Vice President believes that mayor pete ran an incredible and inspiring and barrier breaking campaign. And wed be honored to have his support if hed give it and thats a decision he has to do that. Does Vice President biden plan to ask for that endorsement potentially from Pete Buttigieg prior to super tuesday, prior to tomorrow . Hed be honor to have it, of course. Mayor pete has that been made clear to Pete Buttigieg, kate . Is that explicit . Well, like i said i wont get into the private discussions about what they said to each other on a private phone call back and forth but of course wed be honored to have mayor peters endorsement if thats something he wants to do. Is it more impactful in the next two weeks, does it have to come sooner rather than later if it comes at all . Well, if at any point mayor pete said that joe biden was the person he believes should be president of the United States, wed be thrilled with that. So we will let mayor pete decide if and when he wants to do that. Were hearing about a phone call between your candidate and somebody else, former president obama. Do they talk often or is that something that was a little bit out of the ordinary . No, i dont think it would come as a surprise to anybody watching right now that joe biden and barack obama are friends and they speak every now and then. They have a close friendship. So no, its not out of the ordinary, you know, obviously the Vice President said from the outset that he believes that he needs to earn this nomination on his own. And i think what we were seeing from the results in South Carolina where he won by 30 points that hes making that case. And hes he is on his way to earning this on his own. So no, theyre friends and of course do they talk, of course they do. Theyre friends, are they it. Ends with endorsement is the Vice President disappointed he hasnt gotten the show of support at this critical point of the race from barack obama . No, of course not. He said from the outset he didnt want it. He didnt think that was right and coming out of the gate he needed to own it on his own merit. Do you think that given how everything has been going here the delegate race . We saw look, what i would say to that is we saw record turnout in South Carolina this weekend. On par with 2008 levels. And Barack Obama Joe biden won it going away. He won it by 30 points. He won across every demographic essentially regardless of race, regardless of age. Regardless of gender. Ideology. So, you know, i think we saw evidence on saturday that the Vice President is the one person in this race who the truly build the Diverse Coalition that we have to turn out in order to beat trump in the fall. And tomorrow, super tuesday. It was a decisive victory for your candidate on saturday. What states will you win tomorrow . So, you know, super tuesday is really ago delegates its a delegate game so we have been focused on targeting districts across the country where we you know, districts that look like South Carolina. That look like the diversity of this country. We have had tremendous endorsements from members of congress. From local officials on the ground across the country. We have seen people we have seen really key endorsements over the last 48 hours people like congressman bobby scott and tim kaine. You know i dont want to interrupt you, but theres been reporting on that front, that youre making this push. Your campaign to get some of the key congressional endorsements locked down over the next little bit in order to execute this strategy. Is that accurate . We absolutely believe that those endorsements are important. Those are people who are in their communities who, you know, voters in the Community Know them. You know, they have a relationship with those members and so you know having that person out there vouching for joe biden thats important. Thats helpful. I mean, you have to only look to South Carolina and how helpful and important mr. Clyburns endorsement to see that the endorsements have a real impact. The people who are coming out in the districts and in advance of super tuesday tomorrow will make a difference in terms of boots on the ground, in terms of voters turning out to the polls. Like i said, you know, super tuesday is two things. Its about momentum and its a delegate game and we certainly have the momentum at our back. We have raised 10 million over the last 48 hours online since our win in South Carolina. We believe that we have a strategy to maximize our delegate haul in places in this country that are diverse and that look like the country. Im almost out of time, but very quickly i want to talk about the Vice President. Hes been more aggressive against senator sanders. Is he seeing him as the only threat left in this race, is that how youre viewing this . I think theres a clear choice for voters here. And thats between a candidate like senator sanders who wants to, you know, institute a government takeover of health care and take away private choice from people. And somebody like joe biden who wants to build on obamacare and build on the success of the obama biden administration. So i think there is clearly a stark choice thats shaping up here for voters and i think for voters going to the polls tomorrow do i want somebody at the top of the ticket who can win some of the marginal districts or do i want somebody who is not going to bring that support along . I think thats an important choice and i think its coalescing as a choice between senator sanders and joe biden. Kate bedingfield, thanks for being on the show. So as part of the messaging push you have President Trump and Vice President pence meeting with Top Pharma Companies to talk about the progress, movement to the vaccine, any kind of cure for coronavirus. We just learned our team rather has heard now from one Administration Official that vp pence is going to meet with airline ceos on thursday and cruise line ceos later in the week and set to visit the headquarters of 3m which is agreeing to make more face masks. All of this is happening as the administration is coming increasing fire, that the president is painting this as fear mongering. I want to bring in bob costa, an msnbc political analyst and bob, let me talking about some new announcements. You have the meeting with the pharma execs on the vaccine and the other pieces we have laid out here. Daily press briefings are expected. Ill be at one later on today with the point person burke. How do you read these in the context of what you and your papers have reported is a chaotic response so far . Pharmaceutical Companies Need to be involved at some level in terms of research and development but not their decision when a vaccine comes to the market thats for the food and Drug Administration to make the decision on. As dr. Fauci has said that could take months if not years to come forward. At the same time, based on my reporting High Sensitivity within the white house about criticism of the president. Right. And the president himself has been telling some of his confidants and friends in recent days he is deeply inhappy with how hes being portrayed. Should they continue which they will with the political rallies and Campaign Rallies in the middle of the 2020 season as coronavirus unfolds. You heard were bringing in the best minds of america to bear in this, we have seen repeatedly from the Vice President since last week, i was there when he sort of he did have a press conference taking over the response. What he wants to portray is this measured attitude from the white house. And yet the reporting behind the scenes seemed a little bit different. How do you square that . The white house is facing not just skepticism from some American People but from members of congress, talking to a few lawmakers over the weekend they need to make a decision on the funding package, the scope of that, 4, 6, 8 billion, maybe more. So the president needs to project his aides tell me not only to keep the country calm and to get congress on board. This could be a months long experience if not they need partners beyond just political partners. Right. This is long term. Listen, as were having this conversation right now, on my phone is coming in reports from our colleagues in the white house pool, the reporters who go in with the president. Hes unexpectedly called them into the meeting. Theyre in the oval office meeting. The president is talking about coronavirus. Were working hard with the cdc, working well with other countries. Hes talking about how some additional people were reported, presumably with the virus, some in good shape he says. One of the criticisms for President Trump is that he has and as your paper had reported not talked about the more dire instances where we have seen for example deaths of coronavirus, that News Conference last week he had learned about that 15th patient in california. Didnt talk about it, et cetera. Do you believe based on your sources that there are some who are unhappy with the president painting too much of a rosy or optimistic picture of this or is it your sense that people around the president think hes doing the right thing but not panicking folks out of their minds . People around the president are very sensitive to criticism of the president. At the same time, theyre sharing in his belief that this could in two months be over with because of the weather. You keep hearing this from some Top White House officials and republicans. Yeah. At the same time theres concern it could take months for the weather to warm up in many parts of this country and this the next month or two could be very vulnerable times for americans who dont have strong immune systems or older americans. Bob costa live at the Washington Post newsroom, thanks. Well bring you whatever the president says on coronavirus as hes i believe hes continuing to speak to the pool reporters right now. As soon as we get of defense ma is coming the that Briefing Room and hes probably going to have to address the new reports this morning that the taliban is pulling out of that truce agreement with the u. S. , the same agreement that was just signed less than 48 hours ago. Were live at the d. O. D. Needles. Essential for the sea urchin, but maybe not for people with rheumatoid arthritis. Because there are options. Like an unjectionâ„¢. Xeljanz xr, a oncedaily pill for adults with moderate to severe ra for whom methotrexate did not work well enough. Xeljanz xr can reduce pain, swelling and further joint damage, even without methotrexate. Xeljanz can lower your ability to fight infections like tb; dont start xeljanz if you have an infection. Taking a higher than recommended dose of xeljanz for ra can increase risk of death. Serious, sometimes fatal infections, cancers including lymphoma, and blood clots have happened. As have tears in the stomach or intestines, serious allergic reactions, and changes in lab results. Tell your doctor if youve been somewhere fungal infections are common, or if youve had tb, hepatitis b or c, or are prone to infections. Needles. Fine for some. But for you, one pill a day may provide symptom relief. Ask your doctor about xeljanz xr. An unjectionâ„¢. Laso you can enjoy it even ifst youre sensitive. Se. Yet some say it isnt real milk. I guess those cows must actually be big dogs. Sit i said sit still fresh. Unstopables inwash scent booster downy unstopables lets talk about the aftermath of the peace deal signed over the weekend, the truce agreement in afghanistan. The reporting this morning is that the taliban is now apparently set to resume operations in afghanistan. Thats according to the afp. President trump moments ago in the oval office, hes talking about this, saying weve had good meetings with the taliban, we want to get out. The president telling reporters we have discussions to go but have made great progress. Well turn around that tape when we get it. In the meantime i want to go to Courtney Kube at the pentagon. Sort through this for us. Where is this truce agreement right now on the ground . Reporter so as far as the u. S. Military is concerned, they dont have any attacks that they believe the taliban have initiated since the agreement was signed two days ago. There was theres been some reports of some sort of an attack at or near a soccer stadium in coast province, but so far no taliban claim of responsibility. The u. S. Military doesnt have any evidence it was them. Thats something were all keeping an eye on. So far theres no evidence that the taliban are not upholding their end of the bargain. That being said, this entire story that weve been chasing the past several hours here really underscores the difficulty of this truce agreement, this peace agreement. And that is the taliban is not some monolithic organization. If, in fact, there were some small rogue element that were to carry out some sort of attack without the larger talibans approval or even without authorization, then would, in fact, that would be attributable to the taliban . So its very, i have difficult to prove that, in fact, the taliban have not carried out any of these kinds of attacks. Weve asked the u. S. Military in afghanistan and here at the pentagon for any direct response to this. So far we have not heard anything on the record other than general miller in afghanistan has said he hopes, in fact, the taliban will uphold their end of the agreement. Well hear more at 11 00 from the secretary of defense. Yes, six minutes secretary esper set to speak to folks. Courtney kube, thank you for that important perspective. Well be right back with more on what is happening in the oval office and what our sources are saying after the break. So you should really be focusing on both and definitely at the same time. The new sensodyne sensitivity gum gives us the dual action effect that really takes care of both our teeth sensitivity as well as our gum issues. By brushing with sensodyne sensitivity gum at home its giving you the relief that you need and the control that you need to take care of your oral health. And it creates a healthier environment. Theres no question its something that i would recommend. Stand up to moderate to severe rheumatoid arthritis. And take. It. On with rinvoq. Rinvoq a oncedaily pill can dramatically improve symptoms. Rinvoq helps tame pain, stiffness, swelling. And for some. Rinvoq can even significantly reduce ra fatigue. Thats rinvoq relief. With ra, your overactive immune system attacks your joints. Rinvoq regulates it to help stop the attack. Rinvoq can lower your ability to fight infections, including tuberculosis. Serious infections and blood clots, sometimes fatal, have occurred as have certain cancers, including lymphoma, and tears in the stomach or intestines, and changes in lab results. Your doctor should monitor your bloodwork. Tell your doctor about any infections and if you are or may become pregnant while taking rinvoq. Ready to take on ra . Talk to your rheumatologist about rinvoq relief. Rinvoq. Make it your mission. Lets get to President Trump speaking in the oval office. Lets listen. We have to combine all the elements we have, precision spraying but record heights we reached in 2019 on manual eradication and dismantling the drug cartels. We have to work on all the elements and be strong against that crime. That crime is hurting our people and hurting people everywhere. We need to work jointly in that effort as we have been doing so far. Whats the next steps were talking about venezuela, one of the things were talking about is venezuela, big subject for us. Theyre treating the people of venezuela unbelievably badly. They dont have water. They dont have food. They dont have anything. And we are talking about. Thats a big topic of discussion. Mr. President , if i may add something to that, its very important we are stronger on sanctions against the dick they toreships. Venezuela is running out of things. They have destroyed all the Health Care System. We have to Work Together jointly so theres political and democratic transition that is effective in venezuela. [ inaudible question ]. This meeting was set up before and that was about drug pricing. This meeting was set up a long time ago with the pharmaceutical companies, and that meeting was about drug pricing. We brought the drug prices down, first time in 51 years that drug prices, prescription, have come down. I have a meeting scheduled on drug prices. Well make another subject and probably the first subject and that is to do with the vaccine, how are they doing. Is it possible to accelerate the delivery of the vaccine . Thats what well find out. Weve asked them to accelerate whatever theyre doing in terms of the vaccine, absolutely. Mr. President is it safe or appropriate to be holding rallies during a Public Health crisis . These were set up a long time ago. You can ask that to the democrats, theyre all having rallies. Theyre campaigning. Do you think its safe . I think its very safe. I think its very
