Munches, especially when it comes to the idea of medicare for all. And the leftward bent of the Democratic Party. Do the four of you think there should be a government takeover of the Healthcare System . What if republicans and democrats, life long, are looking for a home. Theyre not going to vote for a left wing Elizabeth WarrenKamala Harris candidate. Also a big talking point for more liberal candidates like the democratic senator from california, Kamala Harris. Here she is monday night talking about her plan for american healthcare. I believe it will totally eliminate private insurance. So for people out there who like their insurance, they dont get to keep it . Well, listen, the idea is that everyone gets access to medical care. And you dont have to go through the process of going through an insurance company, having them give you approval, going through the paperwork, all the delay that may require. Lets eliminate all that. Lets move on. Donna brazile, michael sherrer, good to have both of you. Always a pleasure, thanks for joining me. Ill start with you. Democrats clearly feel they can talk as progressive as they want on healthcare and it wont hurt them. What makes now different than say just a few years ago . Well, first of all, democrats have always supported universal access to healthcare. We believe healthcare is a right. And most americans would like to have lead a healthy life. Were the party that secured, not just medicare, medicaid but the Affordable Care act. And i think this is going to be an important conversation at a time when we still know the Affordable Care act faced many challenges with republicans on capitol hill and President Donald Trump in the white house. So were going to continue to support universal access. There are multiple ways in which youve heard already. This is why we need a president ial Campaign Season where we can have a substantive conversation about these issues. Medicare for all is a litmus test. Io youre not a true democrat if you dont support medicare for all . I want most americans to understand that this is what we supported in 2016. This is likely what we will support in 2020. Its not a litmus test as much as moral test of our country. Are we going to continue to allow the number of uninsured americans, people who need access to quality affordable prescription medicine. This is something our party has supported and i dont think were going to backtr track on. It you have written about schultzs months long plan to run. What went into his thinking and what makes him think this is the right pitch to win the white house . I think the surprise in the last few days is Howard Schultz instant running on a traditional independent on policy and saying im in the americamiddle. He is running against the Democratic Party. The Democratic Party has gotten more bad press over the last few days then i can remember since the midterms. Hes been going after them every day. Thats the strategy of the schultz campaign, is to create enough gravity around himself that americans look at this election, not just as a choice between, you know, reelecting donald trump and going with the alternative. But a choice of going with the status quo in terms of the political system we have now or choosing something else. And i think there is a way in which that could represent a threat to the Democratic Party. Not just because schultz could play a spoiler and help get trump reelected. Because it will change the conversation the democrats can have inside their own primary process. As somebody who has managed a president ial campaign and ive worked on seven. Theres a lane for every different type of democrat, a conservative democrat, a moderate democrat, liberal progressive democrat. We dont have a litmus test in terms of what you call yourselves. We do have a litmus test in terms of what do you do and how can you achieve universal healthcare . How can you work for equality and justice for all . Theres always been a billionaire and a millionaire lane in president ial politics. And i saw him this morning. His attacks on the Democratic Party are very gratuitous. I understand why he wants to attack a party he once supported. Heres what democrats are going to say. Look, we have good quality candidates who are running for president. Whether you decide to support those who announce or those who are about to announce, i still believe any one of our candidates will be far superior than mr. Schultz, as well as the current occupant of the white house. Heres the thing, though, donna. As you probably know now, Howard Schultz has turned into a fundraising pitch for Elizabeth Warren. This is a fundraising email that went out last night. Quote, in Howard Schultzs world people like him who are rich and powerful get to block any popular policy ideas they dont like. And heres this interesting graphic from my colleague there in d. C. A reporter for nbc news as well. It caught my attention there on twitter. I think you can tell youve got the circles, professional establishme establishment, republicans on the right. Beating up on Howard Schultz, managing to unite both sides. It seems one benefit for Democratic Candidates here is that you get to punch a potential candidate who isnt another democrat. Well, look, i think senator warren was absolutely correct to respond to, again, the gratuitous attack on her proposal. It was teddy roosevelt, a republican, who believed in progressive taxation. Were going to have these debates within the Democratic Party. I respect mr. Schultzs decision to put his hat in the ring. I know he wants to be an independent. You know, as democrats, we believe that our party will be united. We also are going to fight for those values that united not just democrats, but all americans. And i tell mr. Schultz and anybody else who decides to run, come on in, the waters warm. But that doesnt mean theres no sh sharks. Whos the biggest shark right now . I dont know. Oh, you know. Im a louisiana girl, babimebaby. When i get into the shark thing, i just want to swim the hell out of it. But this is going to be a good season. I cant wait, more candidates to come. The waters warm, come on in. Kamala harris is she the front runner . One of the top tier candidates, Elizabeth Warren, joe biden, cory booker, there are many more that will be coming into the race. Amy klobuchar. I want to see all these candidates get to run and talk about their ideas. Were going to contrast them with donald trump. By the way, i have some good news. The good news with stacy a you and i have to talk after that, break it down to the American People. This is going to be the show. What makes stacy abrams the Perfect Choice in your opinion to rebut the state of the union . Because there have been a lot of folk whose have suggested that there are some other democrats out there who deserve to rebut . Theres no question, theres a long list of democrats. Weve got a talented bench of people. You see that every day. Stacy abrams represent what our party believes in terms of giving people quality healthcare. Every child should be born with a healthy start. She represents education for all people. She represents jobs creation. Sta stacy represents many of the values. While she felt short in georgia, her message united democrats and independents. You will hear a prebuttal and a reb rebutt rebuttal. I do want to bring in rick tyler. Thank you, thank you for joining me as well. Lets talk about President Trumps potential 2020 problems here for a moment. The Washington Examiner today reporting that Texas Republicans are saying that they fear trump could lose that state in 2020. We should point out here the Washington Examiner, not necessarily known for its liberal bent. Quote, the leftward drift, first evidence in 2016 when trump won texas by less than 10 Percentage Points is a byproduct of sharp opposition to the president in texass upscale suburbs that are dominated by whites. If youre worried about this in texas, chances are youre worried about it else where. If youre worried about texas, you know, you may as well give up the game. Right now the president is completely underwater in his approval, disapproval ratings. Many polls are out now and the polls have 56 disapproval and 37 approval. You cant get reelected that way. I understand why the democrats want to keep Howard Schultz out. They want a clean shot at the president because everything is trending he would actually lose the senate, not only lose the presidency, but lose the senate. Look, Howard Schultz is a multibillionaire. My contention, craig, is that its yet to be proven. Because weve talked a long time about we need a businessman, a ceo mentality to run the government. The government is not a business. Donald trump has so far disproven the theory we need a ceo. Ceos, they execute orders, they give orders and things happen. Thats not the way the legislative process works. President s are consensus builders. They have to work with the other party. They need to have to know how to build Consensus Party and know what the Opposition Party wants to give them what they need to move forward. And they need to communicate to the American People and donald trump has failed on all these fronts. Ceos in general, the ones ive worked would who have made it to congress were enormously frustrated with the legislative process because its not the way theyre wired. Theres this idea that just because youre really good at this one thing, you had this one really good idea that took off, there continues to be this thinking out there among a lot of folks that makes you good at everything. Just really quickly, donna, really quickly, michael im sorry i didnt have more time. Is it that Howard Schultz is too white, too rich or too moderate . Howard schultz is simply a selfmade billionaire who i respect. In a democratic primary, you can come in, make your case, if were not your cup of coffee, then you know what . You can always go to dunkin. Were going to leave it there. Donna, thank you. Michael, do come back. Rick tyler, thank you as well. Let us turn to the other big story on this wednesday morning, that deep freeze that is engul engulfing the midwest. At least five deaths have been attributed to the temperatures. Schools are closed. Businesses are closed. Even the u. S. Post office has stopped delivery in parts of ten states. Chicago turning buses into shelters for the homeless. Governors in three states have declared a state of emergency. My today show compatriot and friend al roker is joining me now. How bad it is . How long it is going to last . Were just getting into the depth of this. It will be today into tomorrow. But you take a look at this, were talking right now about 62 Million People at risk for wind chill warnings, wind chill advisories. And right now, we are looking at arctic blast wind chills, it feels like 50 below in chicago. 46 below in minneapolis. Cincinnati, feels like 21 below. 19 in st. Louis. Even beckley, west virginia, feels like three below. The danger is frustbiostbite, fingers, ears, toes, your face. Exposed skin the most vulnerable. Danger of frostbite, deep frostbite where the tissue below the skin freezes up. Thats really bad. Get inside, seek medical attention, warm gently the affected areas and dont rub those areas. Hypothermia, thats where you get the dangerous drop in body temperature, which can occur fairly quickly in these conditions. The wind chills speed that up. You know if youre shivering uncontrollably, a weak pulse, confusion or in extreme cases lose consciousness, make sure you get the victim out of the cold, cover them up with blankets. Warm nonalcoholic beverages. Popular misconception is to drink something alcoholic. That opens up your capillaries and brings the blood closer to the skin. Because its close to the freezing temperatures cools off. Tomorrow we have pittsburgh at 22 below zero wind chill. 13 below here in new york city. Chicago still cold, minus 44 wind chill. Minneapolis minus 39. Louisville minus 6. But the good news is we start to see temperatures moderating on friday. Theyre still bitterly cold, but getting better. As you can see were going to see the departing cold on friday. Warmth builds. Philadelphia, 25. 18 in cleveland. Minneapolis, above zero. Same for chicago. Rapid city, 51 and then saturday look at this. Downright balmy. Yeah. St. Louis, 57. New york city still cold, but 33 at least. And on super bowl sunday, chicago were breaking out the bermuda shorts, 46 degrees. Washington, d. C. , 51. Atlanta for the super bowl, i know youre going to be there. This governor in kentucky, saying that oh, were weak. These kids who are going to be in sub zero wind chills. Cancel school. Stop it. You know . Adults if they want to be out there, thats great. These are our children, you know . Im glad youre not a teacher. Al roker, youre welcome here anytime. Thank you. See you tomorrow morning on today. When we come back, the president versus his top Intelligence Officers taking them on today after they presented a, shall we say, very different account of isis and the border. President trump in a series of tweets this morning touted his administrations successes, writing in part the isis caliphate will soon be destroyed. Negotiating proceeding well in afghanistan. North korea relationship is best its ever been. He also criticized his own National Security team. Quote, intelligence people seem to be extremely passive and naive when it comes to the dangers of iran. Perhaps intelligence should go back to school. Those tweets coming a day after the nations intelligence officials appeared before the Senate Intelligence committee and painted a less optimistic picture of the threats facing this country. I want to bring in two gentlemen with first hand west ring experience, the former chief of staff to president george w. Bush and the former chief of staff to president clinton. We call it hails to the chief. Hail to the chiefs i should say. Andy, for our viewers and listeners on sirius satellite radar, heres just a sampling of some of the comments made by intelligence officials yesterday. Take a look. North korea will seek to retain its wmd capabilities and is unlikely to give up his Nuclear Weapons and production capabilities. Is iran currently abiding by the terms of the jcpoa in terms of their nuclear tivactivities . Theyre making preparations that would increase their ability to take a step back if they make that decision. At the moment, technically theyre in compliance. Isis is intent on resurging and still commands thousands of fighters in iraq and syria. So why, andy, why would the president of the United States attack his own intelligence officials publicly over their assessments . I cant why hes doing it. I dont think he should do it. Look, the intelligence officials are telling us what the world is, whether we like it or not. Its the world as it is as they see it. And im sure the president is saying its the world as he wants it to be. I understand having an optimistic view of what you want to have happen. Our Intelligence Community are dealing with the raw reality that the world is not what you want it. I think they do a very good job. I thought the presentation yesterday before congress was outstanding on behalf of the Intelligence Community. I think the president should heed it. I understand his optimism and wanting to make things better. Weve got a lot of bad things happening around the world, i hope the president is focused on helping make things better rather than just claim they are. In terms of process here, one would assume that before they appear before congress, the head of the cia, the director of national intelligence, they would have likely provided these comments to their boss in the west wing beforehand, is that a correct assumption . They didnt surprise the president yesterday, did they . It should be a correct assumption, thats for sure. The National Security advisor should carefully coordinate that testimony with the white house and the cabinet members or the agency heads the same from their side of the table. And as andy so well knows and understands, i mean the most sacred responsibility of any commander in chief, any president , is the security of the American People. And our threats now are different than they were in the cold war. Theyre different than they were even in the Clinton Administration when i had the privilege to serve. Now you have terrorism, cybersecurity and dont shoot the messenger. These are your people who have dedicated their service to the country and are supportive and loyal to you as their commander in chief. There must be better communication it seems to me, craig. Andy, did the Financial Times reporting now that during the g20 summit, President Trump reportedly met with russias president vladmir putin, according to the Financial Times. He was accompanied by millenial tru melania trump, his wife. The four of them sat at a table and were among the last to leave. The meeting has been characterized by aides as an informal conversation, andy. But what is whats the danger when you have the president of the United States meeting with the head of a country thats not a friendly ally, with no staff or no notetaker on hand. Its not unusual for a president to have private time with another leader around the world. It could have been a social setting where they didnt discuss anything of substance. What is important for the president to communicate with the officials who are working in the white house, the National Security advisor in particular, and tell them this is what we talked about. In great detail, yes, youd like to have a witness there. Id like to have a translator there. But i dont think its realistic to think the president would never have private time with putin. I bet you he has. But he should be very careful to report on anything that he says of any substance and anything he heard of any substance. Unfortunately President Trump doesnt have a track record of doing that in other venues. Im not sure he did it then. When you heard that report, what did you think . Craig, perception is reality. Certainly the case in the president ial oval office. I think andys got it right, as he usually does. I think its fine for a president to have a personal conversation with another head of state. But its not fine to close that loop with your staff and everything in order and on the record, particularly with circumstances as they are and the suspicion concern around u. S. russia relations and frankly the president s relationship with russia. Its just only good common sense to do that. This kind of goes in the face of that. It seems to me it creates exactly the questions youre raising, unnecessarily. Thats not good for the president. Always enjoy you, thank you for your perspective. Police say actor Jussie Smollett told him he was assaulted by two men who allegedly yelled racial and homophobic slurs. Nbcs Steve Patterson is joining me live now. Where are we in the investigation right now . Reporter right now Chicago Police say the investigation is largely at a standstill. At least as far as new leads is concerned but that theyre doing everything they possibly can in this case. Heres what smollett says happened. He tells police he was grabbing something to eat at 2 00 a. M. Tuesday morning and thats when two men approached yelling racial and homophobic slurs. He said two men jumped him with repeat blows to the face. He says one of them wrapped a rope around his neck and poured an unknown chemical substance on the actor before they both took off. Smollett took himself to the hospital for treatment. Heres what police say theyre working on right now, theyve announced they have extensively canvassed the area near the crime. Reviewed hundreds of hours of Surveillance Video and even expanded the search to the chicago riverfront and beyond and found nothing. You see the statement on the screen now. So far they say no video has surfaced or any sign of a suspect vehicle. The attack has caused outrage from across the country to reese witherspoon, to friends like steve harvey and lee daniels, both posting messages of encouragement on social media. To organizations like glaa snd naacp. All this happening while smolletts family says hes out of the hospital and recovering. Steve patterson there for us, keep us posted on this one. President trump spoke to venezuelan Opposition Leader over the phone to quote, congratulate him on this historic assumption of the presidency and to reinforce President Trumps strong support for venezuelas fight to regain its democracy. He just last week announced himself interim president of venezuela. A move that was recognized by trump and other world leaders. Today president Nicholas Maduro says hes willing to negotiate with the opposition as more protests in venezuela are expected. Back here, the deal to keep the government funded and open runs out on february 15th. Lawmakers and the white house have until then to come to an agreement on spending and border security. Today a group of 17 congressional negotiators are going to be holding its first meeting to iron out details. President trump perhaps complicating matters with a morning tweet, reading if the group, quote, is not discussing or contemplating a physical wall or barrier, theyre wasting their time. Garrett, what do we know about the meeting thats set to happen here in two hours . Reporter the meeting will be about laying down markers. The meeting will be held mostly in private. Well see where the two parties stands as this going, especially as the democrats stand. Theres been a lot of efforts to exert pressure on democrats now that the government has reopened to reevaluate their negotiating position. Whether or not they would change how they feel about a border wall, a fence or barrier. With republicans hammering this home, saying its time for democrats to move a little bit. Take a listen to Kevin Mccarthy talking about this this morning. The speaker, nancy pelosi and schumer would always say, i cannot discuss anything until you open up the government. If you open up the government, we will discuss about border security. And that meant the wall and barrier. So its really going to be on the democrats who made this promise today at 1 30 when they walk into that room, if they have the same language, that see wrong. Reporter thats the political context here. The dynamics are going to be fascinating. The democrats are coming into this clearly united. They have a strategy coming into it. They are not showing their cards to me yet, but its clear they know what theyre willing to negotiate on. Republicans have sounded confused about what theyre negotiating for. Republicans are very much looking towards the white house for guidance. If not what the white house wants, at least what the white house wont reject. Thats how we got into the shutdown mess in the first place with a miscommunication between the Republican Controlled Senate and white house about what the white house would want. The president changing his mind. House and Senate Republicans who will be in the minority in this committee need clear signals from the white house about how they want to proceed. A lot of these members are saying, if the white house stays out of this, if you dont have trump tweeting about this, if you dont have meddling in the negotiations, theyre confident they could come up with an agreement amongst themselves. But the white house, the 18th person who wont be in the room will be the thing to watch. Really quickly here, what, if anything, can we glean from the makeup of this group of 17 about how these negotiations might go . Reporter they have serious adults on this committee. These are people with appropriations backgrounds. They are people who know this stuff. So if youre going to get a serious deal, youve got the right people in the room. You dont have a lot of firebreathers on either side. Thats a hopeful sign i think. Garrett hake at the capital for us, keep us posts. That meeting set to start two hours from now. We are learning more this morning about the High School Freshman who says he discovered apples facetime glitch. 14yearold Grant Thompson said he first noticed the glitch while he was connecting with a friend to play the game fortnite. He says he could secretly listen in on the friend without that friend accepting the call. Im only 14 and i stumbled upon this bug when just trying to play video games with my friends. It really shows how crazy these devices are. Anything could happen. Any bug could give away all your personal information. Apple disabled its Group Facetime feature on tuesday. Tony rahm is the reporter for the Washington Post and an msnbc technology contributor. Tony, good to have you, thank you for joining me. First of all, for folks who havent been following this as closely, explain exactly what was happening here. Yeah, its eavesdropping. A lot of folks are freaked out about this. Basically it had to do with facetime on iphone, thats the feature that allowed you to have a video chat with your friends using your iphone device or macbook. Apple had unveiled a future that would allow you to have Group Conversations with your friends. As a result of this bug, if you went to go make one of those group calls and you went to add somebody to that group you could briefly hear a conversation hear the person you calleds conversation without them knowing. Depending on how that other individual hung up that call you might able to see video too. Meanwhile, moments ago, Amy Klobuchar tweeted pointing to this apple glitch and the need for comprehensive privacy legislation. Congress as you know hasnt been able to do that just yet. Shes talking about her privacy bill. Do you think this in any way helps propel that legislation . Potentially. So senator klobuchar hasnt unveiled the full details of that bill, but she and senator kennedy on the republican side have been talking about it since last year. I think there are a whole host of privacy violations, including those that have happened to facebook and google that now have lawmakers talking anew about what to do in federal legislation. But theres only so much that a law is going to be able to accomplish. There are still going to be software bugs. Theres still going to be mishaps like what we saw with apaa apple and facetime. The question becomes what are the companies do to find out those thing and respond to them quickly. Thats where some of the criticism has been levelled. The teenager and his mom contacted apple and didnt hear anything for many days and didnt take it seriously until it hit the headlines. Heres the thing, not to sound like a luddite here, but for people like myself who have long been suspicious of these devices and their ability to listen and the home assistants, the alexas, this only confirms the suspicions that a lot of folks have that these companies can, in fact, listen to us routinely. And that perhaps even the government can listen to us without us knowing. Yeah, i think this for a lot of people is going to be a reminder of the trade offs when it comes to technology. Facetime is a Great Technology if you want to talk to your friends and have video chats with your family. Whether its facetime or facebook or google and the tools that it provides, theres always a potential downside here. Theres the possibility that malicious actors could use holes in the security of a device to listen to you or to steal your data perhaps without you recognizing. Thats why you hear privacy experts talking about the need for companies to have dedicated security teams and for the government to have its tools to go after bad actors and force companies to improve their privacy and security practices so this kind of thing doesnt occur regularly. It continues to strike me as odd that we keep expecting the guy whose are screwing it up to fix it. We keep looking to people who continue to let us down with regards to our privacy. We expect them to fix it. Tony, thats not a question. That was just me venting. Thank you, tony. All right. Heres something that will make you smile. You may remember quishon latimer. She had to choose between paying for chemotherapy and rent. Well, this week, she got quite the surprise. A huge surprise when she learned that anonymous donors paid both her february rent and medical bills. Take a look. Someone actually called in to the hospital and took care of my account. They wiped out my entire balance. It is blessings and its a bright side to this. I thank god for it. Just goes to show that when the politics on capitol hill divide, its the kindness of strangers that shows us what it means to be a american. A recent nbc poll finds support for the president among evangelicals dropped about 7 over the last month. The late reverend billy graham also prayed with donald trump. His son, franklin, took over the ministry after his fathers death nearly a year ago. He aligned himself politically at least with President Trump. I talked to Franklin Graham about the state of the country and his fathers legacy. I think his most important legacy is he was faithful to preaching the gospel. That god loves us, that our sins separate us from god but god provided that god so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son. And my father preached this message continually his whole life. And he was calling people to repentance, to turn from their sins and to put their faith and trust in jesus christ and if a person did that, then god would welcome them into heaven and they could have that assurance and have that peace with god. And that was his legacy. Were still doing that today, were still telling men and women how to have peace in god through faith in jesus christ. You wrote an oped in fox news recently. I read that oped. You wrote in part that truth is 100 right. The Washington Post, as you probably know, the Washington Post fact checker, their analysis reports that the president of the United States has made 8,158 false or misleading claims in his first two years. How do you reconcile that . Well, i dont know how to reconcile that, because i dont know. You have a fact checker for the president but i dont know if you have a fact checker for the media at the same time. Pastor graham, pastor graham, you and i both know that this president has said things over and over that arent true. No, i dont know that. I dont sit around and try to find every fault in the president every day, looking for everything that he might have misspoken or missaid. I dont do that. But you can acknowledge that the president has said things that arent true. I dont think the president is sitting there behind the desk trying to make up lies. I dont believe that for a second. Has he misspoken on something . Sure, all of us do that, you do it, i do it. Sometimes we get the facts wrong and Say Something later on that we realize later on we could have set better or was misrepresented. So i think the president is trying to do the best that he can under very difficult circumstances. The problems that we face as a nation are so complex, there is no way that the president or the congress or any one individual person can fix this. And were getting ready to have another president ial campaign and elect another president here in two years or maybe the same president , i dont know. But no one person can fix this, its too complex. We need god. As a nation weve turned our back on god. Reverend, you and i can both agree that one person could certainly serve as a shining example to all of us. Well, uh, right now we need something who can fix our country and fix the problems. And, yes, weve had some great examples over history. Some of them havent been so great examples. But the thing is that the American People have elected donald trump to be president. And hes the president. We need to work with him and support him while hes president because if he succeeds, craig, its going to be to our benefit. Its going to to your benefit. Republicans, democrats, independents will all benefit if he is successful. If he fails, then were just going to kick the football further down the road and its going to be more difficult for the next president. So i would encourage all of us, lets work with President Trump and when the next president comes, whoever that person is, lets work for him or her, because theres quite a few hers that will be running, it looks like, and many one of them will be elected, we knead to nek with them. If we keep kicking our problems down the road, none of them will be solved. Thank you, sir. God bless you, craig. Rick tyler is an msnbc political analyst. Rick, why is the evangelical Community Standing behind President Trump . First let me unravel a little bit of the mythology of the evangelical community. The story is really told in the republican primary. Donald trump got 32 of the evangelical vote in the primary. That means 68 of evangelicals voted against him. Its all in the selfidentifying as evangelical. We hear the term lapsed catholic, Everybody Knows what that means, when did you go to church last, oh, i went at my sisters wedding. Thats an elapsed catholic. There are elapsed evangelicals where they dont go to church every day. Donald trump won among evangelicals who seldom go to church. He won 65 among selfidentified evangelicals who went to church maybe two or three times a year. At the end of the primary, ted cruz, who i worked for, had a 19point advantage with evangelicals who attended weekly over donald trump who had a 16point advantage among republicans who never went to church. We can argue about whether going to church is important, thats a different topic. The point is, evangelicals, given a choice in the general between Hillary Clinton and donald trump, obviously voted very strongly for donald trump. I think its very thin, its really a misnomer to say that he has this huge evangelical support and therefore evangelicals are somehow responsible for the donald Trump Presidency as some people like to blame them. Craig, im so glad that you asked Franklin Graham about the how he could reconcile Donald Trumps misstatements or whatever you want to call them, i call them lies, with objective truth. In the beginning of the segment, hes talking about objective truth and hes going to get people to believe about objective truth, that is jesus is the savior of the world and died for our sins. Thats objective truth. At the same time he wants to make excuses about donald trump when we know donald trump has said things that are just demonstrably and provably false. Do Fact Checkers always get it right . No, and sometimes there can be more explanation about misstatements. But there are things that donald trump has said over and over again that are just flat out wrong, like largest tax cut in history, like the awarded 110 billion contract for a wall, like we caught ten terrorists at the border. These are demonstrably false things. I dont know whether franklin is being willfully ignorant or is covering for the president but that undermines his message about objective truth. Rick tyler, well leave it there. Thank you, sir. Well be right back. There. Thank you, sir well be right back. Dad, i think hes dead. Probably just playin possum. There he is.
