One source told me that question was murky but he believes Robert Mueller vrps the answer to it. If it was, it could be a significant source of collusion. U. S. Intelligence had already said and we had reported that the russians had hacked the democratic emails. There were strong suspicions not yet stated at fact but strong suspicions they handed them over to wikileaks. A few days before this was sent, New York Times printed a big expose. The Trump Campaign was on notice there was strong notice that wikileaks was cooperating with russia. You used phrase genuine wikileaks overture. What does that mean . Its possible this could have been a fake. That this guy was not actually associated with wikileaks. It would still raise the question, what did the Trump Campaign do with this information . Did they alert the fbi . Did they respond in any way in order to find out if it was genuine. If it was wikileaks, two weeks before wikileaks began a twitter conversation with donald trump jr. Thats been confirmed and reported. There was clearly an effort by wikileaks with outreach to the Trump Campaign. This decryption key, do we know if it was offered to anyone else . The president has backed off his russian commentary on twitter, his favorite megaphone but what we hear from the white house, from ty cobb, they feel confident the president will be exonerated. He did nothing wrong and they have the sense this will be wrapped up soon. Whats the significance here for congressional investigators and special counsel Robert Mueller . Well, i think it probably raises more questions than it answers but it raises some significant questions. I think what Robert Mueller wants to know or may already know is what response did trump jr. , trump ihimself, mechanics f the campaign make to this email. Theres a crime that makes it illegal for people to hack into computers and steal things that didnt belong to them. Did any member of the campaign aid and abet the commission of that crime by suggesting what to do with the fruits of such a leak, by using that decryption key, avenues of distribution . I think it raises questions but something Robert Mueller would be interested in. The time of this email and tweet by donald trump jr. , i want to put the tweet up here for a second, citing wikileaks and its release of Hillary Clinton state department cables, both of those coming in september. Purely a coincidence there . It was very clear the Trump Campaign was looking for information on Hillary Clinton any way they could get it so it wouldnt be surprising if they accepted information nor a crime. Journalist accept information and publish information from wikileaks. The issue is by this time it had become clear wikileaks was working closely with the russians and that raises questions about whether the Trump Campaign knew that and how they responded. George papadopoulos, the First Campaign official to plead guilty to a crime. Hes apparently cooperating with Robert Muellers probe. Hes been described by President Trump in a tweet in october as a lowlevel volunteer who has already proven to be a liar. Again, that tweet coming from President Trump himself. Papadopoulos strongly defended by his fiancee in an interview this morning. This is just part of what she said on good morning america. He was constantly in touch with a high Level Campaign and never did anything unauthorized. Constantly in touch with members of the campaign. Was he in touch with the chief strategist, steve bannon . Yes, as far as i know, yes. I know steve bannon, Michael Flynn. He was in touch with Michael Flynn, general flynn . Yes, as well. And this is by email, by phone calls . Yes, being based in london, communication was email. So, shes talking two big names, mike flynn and papadopoulos. Is the low level or coffee boy able going to continue to hold up . Hes certainly not coach boy. Hes a Foreign Policy adviser on a group with a number of Foreign Policy advisers that jeff sessions, now the attorney general was the head of. There were multiple meetings. As we were able to see from the Court Documents released by mueller, there were multiple exchanges between George Papadopoulos and a number of the members of the campaign. There were a number of members who werent paid by the campaign, including paul manafort. Yes, he was not in the daily flow of things in trump tower, thats true. He was not a daily presence around trump tower but through the email exchanges weve seen so far, that have been released by mueller, there were a number of exchanges. I dont the name flynn, i was surprised to hear that because flynn was also an outside adviser to the campaign. Maybe not surprising but someone like steve bannon, corey lewandowski, the campaign manager, i wouldnt be surprised if they were in contact. How credible did you find her . Im not sure what is motivating her to make these comments other than standing by her man and making him to be a big deal. She said he was a patriot this morning. Well, i guess for pleading guilty and agreeing to kopt and being the first domino to fall in the russia scandal, but i think that regardless of whatever label we attach to him, coffee boy, fly on the wall, as long as he was someone in a position to observe things that he can testify about later, emails that were exchanged, conversations that were had, that makes him a powerful witness regardless of what his title or label is. Ken, the word a short time ago that the judge who presided over the criminal charges against Michael Flynn has apparently recused himself, another judge has been named to handle this case, whats this all about . We dont know, is the short answer, craig. Experts are telling us not to read much into it. Maybe barbara has a view. The only thing i would say is i dont know the reason for it but it is not uncommon for a judge to recuse himself or herself without giving the reasons. There is a statute that list a number of reasons. It doesnt have to be an actual conflict of interest. It could also just be a perceived conflict of interest so it made be some business holding, it may be some professional relationship of a Family Member but the judge was concerned could be perceived later to suggest he was some way based in this case, he made the decision, its best i not be involved. He handled the guilty plea but thats an administrator hearing without any exercise of discretion. So i cant imagine participating in that hearing will be problematic down the road. Theres a News Conference scheduled with one of his accusers and her attorney, gloria allred. She says roy moore tried to assault her when she was just 16. Moore denies all charges. This morning in an interview on abc news beverly said she made notes to that yearbook and the Moore Campaign is seizing on that, especially on social media by claiming those notes prove that it was a forgery. If you look closely, its these what theyre claiming is the date and the location on there, that she made those notes and she said that in her interview with abc news. She also reacted that the rnc was supporting moore again. His republican colleagues have also promised to welcome him with an ethics investigation as well. What would it take for doug jones to win . It wouldnt take a lot. Hes down by a couple points. It would take a small polling error in this race, people not showing up in the polls as disgustinged with roy moore and the allegations and white women in particular taking a look at these saying, i cannot support this guy. I dont like democrats but im more troubled by the allegations against roy moore. I think odds are that he wins this race. As karen says you think doug jones no, no, i think roy moore wins and wins narrowly. It would surprise me if doug jones would win. I think moore wins and puts republicans in washington in a terribly uncomfortable position. Do you think roy moore wins for arguably one of the same reasons donald trump wins because when a pollster asks someone on the phone, hey, would you vote for the accused pedophile, a lot of people have a hard time saying yet but once they get in the voting both they dont have as much problem telling the lever. Maybe they dont to want tell a pollster theyll vote for a democrat because thats not super popular in alabama but when they get in the voting booth and they see the ballot with roy moore, they remember everything hes alleged to have done and said, can i in good conscience pull the lever on this guy . They quelled it pretty quickly. There were some minor clashes but nothing too violent. The real concern this evening is in southern israel and gaza strip. We got word from israeli officials the security sirns were going on, a projectile was fired into gaza strip. Its not clear what was fired or where it land. Well get an update four. It was a tense scene in gaza where protesters tried to approach the security fence and security barrier between gaza and israel and thats where those clashes happened, leading to one fatality and injuries. It was a scene of similar tension in other parts of the west bank as well. Protesters approaching military outposts and checkpoints clashing with the military. He understand from the Palestinian Ministry of health that hundreds of people were injured. No fatalities to report this evening in the west bank. But the Israeli Military put out a statement saying they were responding to fire bombs and stone throwers. They fired back at some instigators in those crowds according to the military. So, it gives you a sense of how tense the situation was playing out in this third day of what palestinians were calling for in terms of days of rage protesting President Trumps decision, craig. Do you get the sense this is going to be a situation where a few days from now that cooler heads will prevail, these tensions you talk about, these tensions will subside, or do you get the sense that this is just the beginning of what were going to see in the muslim world for some time to come . More interestingly, it will depend on the palestinian leadership and their ability to dry to address this issue and the grievances the Palestinian People diplomatically, without any movement, without any kind of vent for the daily frustration of life for palestinians, its hard to see them continue to abide by the socalled Peace Process or oslo Peace Process. Thats the real pressure the Palestinian Authority finds itself under. They now have to try to figure out whether or not theyre going to stay committed to diplomatic communications, diplomatic Peace Process. We hear that a lot, actually. Now, last night we learned that the Ethics Committee was expanding their investigation into fahrenthold, putting together a subcommittee to focus specifically on this. Thats pretty normal for things that go through their committee. Fahrenthold responded in a statement saying he welcomed this change in the Ethics Committee stance and that he hopes that the process will exonerate him or at least clear his name to the point that he can continue working here.
