Familys home threatened and some of his family lost their homes in rockport, so he knows what a hurricane can do. Its a little rough, but im on the fourth floor. I want to show you why we position ourself here, not only for the safety, but because down here is where we think we will see that storm surge. So it is here, just there. If you look over there, those buildings, they are right on the water. So the street here, i guess were not going to have enough cable. We get the basic picture. There you go, come on over. There we go. Guys, there you go, so the damage right now is to palm fraudule frans and stuff, but it will get worse. We just got the 2 00 p. M. Update. It is a category 3 now, but minds at the center is 120 to 150. If we officially get land fall, it would be a category 3. It was a four in the keys, this would be a three now, im not going to pay too much attention to the category, because im still most concerned about the storm surge. The wind on tv that destroys stuff, it looked good, the thing that will kill people the most is the storm surge nap. That is coming on the backside. Do you know what elevation is below you and will you be able to show the storm surge and water below you when it comes in . This is the challenge. Were at a structure that is starting about six feet above sea level. Were 40 feet up. So if the storm surge comes in three plus politblocks, well s come in all of the way up here. Were talking about 15 possible feet of storm ursurge that woul dmom this far and further. The question is will we will be in the right spot. Watching storm surge and being safe is difficult. I did it in matthew, but in other hurricanes i have never been able to be in a safe position to see it. Im glad you know that is six feet. That is the starting. We look down, it is important to see the before and afters. That is six foot elevation. Theyre predicting at minimal ten feet, that would be four feet of water on the road, with a possibility of going up to nine feet and maybe adding high tide. The water could be as high as 12 feet high in about, lets see, that is four, 6 00 p. M. , four hours from now, kerry, you may have ten feet of water on that road behind you. We may have lost bill karens, do your thing and tell us what kind of storm were looking at. Lets get into resetting and showing you where we are. Well start with the highest wind gusts we have seen. You mentioned at the top of the hour naples did report the wind gusts. 103 Miles Per Hour in naples, Pembroke Pines 109. Miami 94. Big pine key, that is 120. That was the highest gust. We could challenge that has we watch this northern eye wall make land fall. Were going to see a lot of readings in the 100 Miles Per Hour range. That is when you really start to get roof damage. People cant stand up over 60, generally, in my experience. The trees come down when you have 60 to 80. The thing that were watching now, and now that the northern eye is coming on shore, well be tracking wind damage first, and then after well track what will happen with the water. Here is the center of the storm. And this red blob on the northeast side, the new update says 120 Miles Per Hour sustained, gusts to 150, that will be in this thunderstorm complex to the right there. Here is the closer zoomed inimage of this. This is where kerry is located in is marco island. You see them swallowing up the marco islands here. Well go further to the north. Lets give you a little distance tracker. The storm is starting to accelerate, it was moving eight or nine, the last update is 12 Miles Per Hour. Ever so slowly it will move north faster now. Naples you are now 16 miles to the leading edge of the northern eye. That is an hour and 15 minutes from now from where kerry is. The worst of the winds out of there. Lets go out further from name are further out. Ft. Myers, bonita springs, we spoke to that mayor, he says he knows there are people in trailers and mobile homes, the highest elevation is 13 feet. Bonita springs is 29 miles. Youre roughly two hours, two hours 15 minutes from being in that eye wall. And as we start to get to sunset, that is when the worst will be going up there. It is a cat 3, we think it will probably remain cat 3. Youre about four hours away from now getting into that northern eye. We have sam champion on often. We have strong wind gusts on the eastern shore. We will not see anything worse than we are right now. The storm if you draw a line from miami to the center of the storm is parallel with it right now. In miami youre getting the worst that youre going to get, we will start to see heavy rain and the winds will die off a little bit, and well see the storm surge coming down. It was only two to four feet there, and when you consider the surge on the backside of it is significantly worse, and if the storm surge is already beginning, and now it is beginning in unpopulated areas of the everglades. Here is the eye, and the winds with the eye go like this. We see them going in this general direction. The backside they go in this general direction. We will see in pictures, tampa, and ft. Myers beach. That is because the wind is blowing off of the coast. The winds will shift and come on shore if will pile up rapidly and you will see water rises in some cases 10 to 15 feet in three to four hours. The water will really start to fly up, and our storm urge is coming on just like that right now. It will be the first area where the storm surge will come in below it. Were still about two hours away, brian, from the storm surge. The reason were so concerned is the possibility of 10 to 15 feet of water. And the last time in our country that some of the storm surge with sandy on the jersey shore was 1012 feet, ike had it in the peninsula. And as i have been mentioning, high tide in this area is three to 4 00 this afternoon. It would be nice if we could get past the peak of high tide, at least. While you were talking, the National WeatherService Placed a Tornado Warning on North Eastern miamidade, southeastern palm beach counties. In addition to spotter who is say there is a tornado, there is a tightture for rotation. Apparently it is all over that area. One of my favorite weather watchers is down in the melbourne area. She said a weak tornado went through and got six mobile homes. We just had pictures from miami of the water flowing through the city which is really striking. In florida city, Gadi Schwartz has been driving around in a vehicle as safe as he can make himself. What do you have there . It is fascinating to hear you talking about that. Were watching it right now, this right here, this little dot between the yellows and the greens is where were at right now. Were seeing a little break in the weather, but we had red bands passed over us. I want to show you what kind of damage that did. This is a hostile here in florida, and those are pretty big trees. Ill turn the camera as we drive by, but you see the root systems, water saturating the ground, and then those trees just toppling over. We have not seen any houses destroyed, but we have seen a lot of these trees down, a lot of debris in the road. We also took a trip down to key largo. It is still, you can reach it by going down the highway southbound for emergency crews. Northbound lanes are impassable. The debris and the amount of storm surge in the roadway right now, you just cant get through. Emergency crews coming and going are taking the southbound lanes to get back to the mainland and get down to the keys. At this point in the next couple hours as the storm starts to let up, thats when we will see a lot of emergency crews coming out and starting to do their initial assessments. Were still getting bands that come through the area. Pulling out fire trucks and having high winds is not very safe for them. So they hunker down, in their fire stations, and then they wait until the storm passes. And were hoping that the winds will start to subside here every the next few hours here. Also, gadi, the vessels that have the people that could not afford or have access to get their boats lifted. The people that could not secure them, the vessels that were secured and the storm just snapped them loose, it will be awful, there will be piles of mass from sailboats. While youre talking, were looking at a street scene in miami that would be unimaginable on a normal business weekday. Absolutely. We have already seen some of that. We were passing by this marina, and you could see where the boats came loose and it started to slam fences. We spoke to a man who spent an entire half a day trying to secure his boat with 16 lines. He had three anchors in the water, and it was tied to posts, and he tried to keep it center. He said some of the lines are coming loose even though they had shock absorbers just from the tossling of the wind and storm surge. We will see quite a bit of boat damage throughout the area. All right, Gadi Schwartz, thank you so much. He has been up and down the coast and all over the place. Lets take the radar in full, i dont think we have had an accounting in the past few minutes of just how close we are to marco island being in the eye, the clear of this storm. The problem as bill carons points out, before the eye, marco island has to endure some of the toughest punishment this storm has to turn out, those deep purples are the most intense. Yeah, the fear for the area is theyre going into the northern eye as we speak. Im sure there are some fire and Police People there, i hope not many residents, but the fear that it will go parallel to the coastline. Once the forecast shifted 36 hours ago. The fear was the storm in the center would do this. Ba parallel the coast, dragging this region, right here, through the entire populated corridor of southwest florida. And it is super susceptible to storm surge. Marco island is getting swallowed soon by the eye. This is radar returns. So that thing you see, there is a four or five minute delay. It sweets through, so what were looking at on the map is stuff in the air, the drops of rain, and where the highest concentration of the drops, the doppler radar, thats how we color in the heaviest. Where there is nosthing, that i where it is not raining. Woe will have to go through anyways, it would be nice to go up the coast to give everyone a breather. Their kids in a bathtub or hiding in a closet, it would be nice if everyone had an hour or two where the wind didnt sound like a train was driving by outside of your house. We may stay in the coastal areas right through the northern eye and the earn eye. Talk about that. We will do our fwoes keep up on everyone. If and when we hear from these communities, certainly any photographic evidence of the danger or damage so far, well let you know. Were coming back with our live coverage of Hurricane Irma in florida. The gusts are starting, i want to keep may hand on the railing because you dont know when the gust is coming. For years, at t has been promising fast internet to small businesses. But for many businesses, its out of reach. Why promise something you cant deliver . Comcast business is different. We deliver superfast internet with speeds of 150 megabits per second across our entire network, to more companies, in more locations, than at t. We do business where you do business. Welcome back, a few things to update you on. We just lost another construction crane in miami. Theyre designed to move like a weather vain, and move with the prevailing winds, but its a lot of super strr that is a lot to ask of super strr so we lost two, that we know of. As this storm nears, it is important to remember that par real to this storm, on the earn size. A lot of things people said would catch a break. I will tell you, we thought this storm would not strike them, i am not surprised that the cranes went down in the two heavy bans moving through here. We have been in this ban for about an hour. In this ban, i lost my best friend and wind gauge. You might republican it was in the shot right there for the entire time, we knew the wind direction, we could tell the way it was bending, and it toppled and went straight down. This is the kind of wing, stronger than what we saw this morning. Let me go over a little bit of the damage in the damage reports that were hearing. We heard of a yacht overturned at the ft. Lauderdale yacht club. We had water move into some neighborhoods. Ft. Lauderdale is set up a lot like the other areas with the beautiful canals. Since early this morning, since about 4 00 or 5 00 this morning, so that water continues. For obvious reasons, sam right now is in about the worst that we have seen. The winds are up to about 100 Miles Per Hour gusts in that region. At times they come in and out and they cant withstand some of these ran rain bands. What i have been looking at on the radar is once this, the worst of this goes through, a lighter and drier area within a few hours of all of that moisture. The drier part of the southern part of this storm. 100 , rain wise it is more potent. Youre parallel to the storm right now, have you noticed your winds shifting to the southeast or to the south . Were protected completely from the north, let me check. I have to turn around and look, i loss my wind gauge right here. No, its in the same direction right now, we have been waiting for that of when that would be to the north of our location. But i will tell you, as far as storm winds and rain goes, this is the worst of the day. Sam from living in that area and seaing how much trees and what 100 Miles Per Hour winds can do, how long do you think it will be for power. We dont have houses destroyed, it will be how much will it take to get power back on. The first ban was like this, the Power Outages just take off. We probably need to talk to people a little about the trees coming downright now. You know, seven hours we continue to repeat what you said again, we just lost that. We have been on seven hours of constant soaking rain right now. The root balls will saturated so they will not old trees up in wind like this. Downed trees all over the area, and down come the power lines. Well start to see wig damage in this. I think right now, i just felt a little spin of wind. The majority of the wind is still blowing that direction. But i began to, im definitely feeling a shift. There is a little shift in the wind direction because its not constantly pushing ne way, im getting a mix of the wind here. Yeah, right now the storm surge is around three feet or so. We would like to blow that water back out so we need that southerly wind direction going. Thats when we will see wind in the streets. Youll know, when you see those tries back there, they were leaning that way, and now theyre going this way a little bit. But i have to say it is like right now that gust just let up little bit, but it was interesting to feel the cross wind. Thats the first time of the day i got a cross wind. Thank you, sam. It is still important, we have noum rouse warnings in melbourne, you see what sam is going through there. Those this is the wind. The storm surge is not going to matter that the the storm is too huge, pushing too much water, let me update you on the path. This was an 11 00 a. M. Advisory. All of the way into georgia. If you will have to worry about Power Outages. At 8 00 p. M. , 125 Miles Per Hour winds. The last advisory was 120. More important is the position, almost right over the top at ft. Myers there. That is when the worst of it was right over there. Beautiful clear water beach, and weaken as a tropical storm. Highest wind gusts in the keys is 120. Then we had a gust to 103 in naples. On satellite, you see the eye is not quite as we have Hurricane Force gusts on the keys and now we have them as far north as sarasota. This is the radar imagery that we have been showing you and the thing we didnt really like is the pink in the northeast. That is the heaviest rains and it looks just intense now. That is now coming on shore. We have that image of marco island because it is now clearly in the bright red here. Torrential rain, theyre in the northern, in the middle of the northern eye wall and the bright pink will rotate through. They still have a chance at getting in the eye. The eye is individualishrink becoming oblong. This is the before image. They have winds between 100 and 120 Miles Per Hour. They have another about two hours until that happens. Were joined by telephone by larry who is charmt of the city council on marco island. What do you know about what is twoing on outside. Thank you for watching me. Theyre washing the northern eye pass over creating quite a wind event, but what everyone is worried about and planning for, the major storm surge of frightening proportions. Probably nothing good. What youre getting right now is not the point, the point is what comes later. This is worse than before. These are major wind events, the trees can bend and so forth. The watt sere going out of the canals and some boats are sitting on mud, we can handle that, but we are worried about what will come next. The winds, tell me what is the height of the average retaining wall. The canals, the lagoons, what is the average height . Probably four feet above the high tide, we call them sea walls, they are often overtopped in a major thunderstorm in the summer, youre right about that. And how are you doing on windows and things like that. The stuff that pops at 100 Miles Per Hour. Different structures are rated differently. We have many structures on the island built in the 19370s1970s 80s that might not be the same. On the left, periscope. Live pictures of marco island. We cant no with any exactness where. Are you near a window. Are you able to see weather . Yes, it is. You feel safe, and you what about in the storm surge . That we dont know, sir. It comes with the numbers that are being quoted. I will personally be okay. Our First Responders, we have about 100 of them in a secure location in the city. I think they will be okay, and we worry about the citizens that did not take the voluntary and mandatory evacuation orders, we need to worry if they will be okay. Bill has a question for you. We have been showing this Beautiful Image of marco island from an aerial view. Whats the highest elevation point . You mipgsed you have about 100 First Responders sheltered, what is highest elevation and where are they . Theyre in a hotel on floors three, four, and five and in the stairwells in necessary. Theyre clear of even higher than the storm surge numbers that have been quoted. Are they, if we have that image, cal, are they there there are a couple hotels on the beach, they look like the highest structures. Yes, sir, thats where they are. I believe cal is getting that image up now. What is the plan for a 10 to 15 foot storm surge. What instructions have been given to your First Responders. It is safe to get out for another 12 or 14 hours, what happens then . They have been training extensively for a few weeks now. What happens after a surnge, whn they can leave, they do not leave their own for their own safety they dont leave when the wind is 40 and 45 Miles Per Hour. When that calms down they will be able to leave. We have a number of water craft that our police and fire own, and many have been donated by citizens. They will be able to get out and about on the high land. We sent out several blasts to the city asking people to tell us if you decided to stay, where are you. So we received responses from hundredsi of those people, and e will make sure they are okay, and if not we will transport them to get medical attention they need. Then they will turn our attention to a water and sewer plant. We have crewed for Electrical Service on the island now. Also staying in that security location, so we can try to recover the island as quickly as possible. Thank you, it sounds like you have dont, as they say, all that you can. And we hope for your safety and the safety of folks on marco island. We spendt a lot of time talking about the unique position where the eye wall will make the second landfall today, it appears, in the state of florida. Kerry sanders is there in naples on the leftside of the screen. She in a fourstory parking structure. Not in any personal danger, but there to describe to us what this sounds like. Youre about to finish unband, go into letser rain and wind, and then you will get the eye wall going over marco island. The National Hurricane center just sent out a note that said that we should expect to, the storm surge to be coming in the next few hours, and if anyone was making the gamble to think they should be along the coast, they should absolutely get out. We retreated some time ago, where as you noted were on the fourth story of a parking garage. Were three blocks in, three city blocks from the coast. So we should be able to look over and see the storm surge. The winds have been picking up, it hurts my hand through the jacket. Theyre like little bebes shooting at me right now. I think bill said we might see it about quarter past. Were standing by for that, naples, marco island, no electrici electricity. I felt that one come on my right shoulder, were beginning to feel the shift already. Marco island, we got a chance to speak to the fire chief down there, chief murphy, he said they have not received any emergency calls, but they have received calls. And they will make a calculation when that eye is there. If the eye passes and it comes over, and there is a brief calmness, they may send some teams out. Firefighters and paramedics out, but they dont know if they will do that until theyre in that moment. It is a very tough call to make because the eye will not last very long. It is moving, i think now, at 12 Miles Per Hour. I guess it will just get worse. Bill is at the map, well see if we can get the best possible projection to see if you will have the luxury of any time in that eye. This little break, eight miles now. Where it really gets intense, that is the little break in naples. That is really about it. Were waiting to see is marco island going to be fortunate enough to get a break and come in here. Were concentrating on the eye now because the storm surge has not begun. We have those gauges up and down the coast. Were going to start focusing more on that than on the wind. Right now the wind is the biggest concern for life and property. Here is the eye here. It has been drifting. Maybe you will get a little break, and maybe we will get you in that eye. You see the southern tip here, south of marco island, trying to get into the eye. That would be nice, brian, to give them a little bit of a break. It wont make much difference with the storm surge though. Is it an interesting i was going to say say an interesting forecast and i dont know if you have have it available at this moment, an area that is sometimes referred to as a naple bay. There is a sailboat there on its keel and the water has all gone out. It is a very dramatic example of how the wind coming from the east coast to the west, has pushed the water out. The reason it is so important to understand is that we are pretty close to high tide here. And the water is gone. What is going to happen as bill has been reporting is when we get the wind from the other side, well see the opposite affect of the water being pushed out and that is when the storm surge will come in. When i sthau picture, i was like that is a great demonstration. Were looking at it right now, kerry, a sailing vessel on its keel. That is in one of the canals with what they guessed was a four foot sea wall on the side. Very erie because of the net gain of water. Were saying 10 to 15 feet of storm surge. Youre thinking the eye is almost here. That area is going to go up 15 feet the winds will shift on the backside. Its trying to remember with katrina, we didnt really have Daylight Pictures of it, this may go in the history books as one of the worst examples of e the the eye wall is dropping back. Yes, there is a good deal of well have to go back to the tracking computer, but this is the northern eye. This thunderstorms wrapped all of the way around it when it was a cat 5. Right now it lost some oomph and it is still major hurricane cat 3. As it rode in, the Northern Edge is the heavy rain and the winds. The southern edge, you will still have strong winds, just not the pouring rain and the winds, im sure everyone in ft. Meyers, im sure the winds are starting to get your attention here, too. Here is the latest image of where the eye is located. The brightest reds, the strongest and heaviest range will bring down some of the stronger wind gusts. That is happening now and were starting to go thwarts kerr forwar towards kerry. The water from the gulf is going to be pushed towards the coast. Were thinking of our friends on marco island right now. Another break for us, were wac with our live update on the progress and course of Hurricane Irma. Probably coming up in excess of 15 feet because then we not only drive that water right up against the wall, but the canals and communities. They just completely gave way. Conditions are worsening by the minute. I dont know if you can appreciate how they were pulled from the earth right here. If i need to, i can literally lay down here and that could happen later in the day as we see what happens with the storm. The winds will change direction and come from that way soon. How about that gust . Boy, that will take it out of you. We are back, we continue to monitor where the eye wall is. We have ever reason to believe that marco island, florida, will be plunged ever so briefly into calmer winds. Perhaps sunshine, perhaps seagulls taking to the skies as they get to the east side of the eye before going back to the southern eye wall. Miami is getting all of the storm they can handle. The National Weather service gi confirming a gust at mia at 100 Miles Per Hour. Were just a couple blocks from Miami International airport here, and to tell you exactly where were at, were at our hotel here. We tried to meet up with Miamidade CountyEmergency Services team this morning, but there is only one way out. Miami International Airport is ten midnights from the beach. You see there are lakes and water ways that go in. Homes right across the way over there. The rain has come down for most of the part. The homes, that we were able to this morning. But you see these places over the course of most of miami, brian, were ten miles away. It looks like the trees are tipping over. It reflects much of what we saw with the tree on the other side of the hotel that blocked our ability to get out of here. About 108 people in our hotel, next to us there is about 100 more people in a hotel. We talked to the rescue team, but there is only so much you can do. Ten miles out the situation is unfolding. You said 100 Miles Per Hour winds, the Building Blocks us most of the time, but over here you see tires, debris, everything pushed out by the storm in the course of these miles in and over here. It will be a long time, trees piled up in there, we see some of that now. A whole lot of southern florida will get rearranged. Bill, i see some scurrying where you are. We have a statement by the National Hurricane center. Were really getting to the serious life threatening portion of this hour. Messages to naples and marco island. Urgent. Water levels to rise rapidly. With a passive of t iage of the shift offshore, causing levels to rapidly rise in a matter of minutes. Move away from the water. Life threatening storm surge inundation of 10 to 15 feet above ground level is expected. So, now is the time for anyone that is possibly listening or within earshot, that is within 15 feet of sea level in marco island and naples, you only have about an hour or two until that water will quickly come up. Weve seen these pictures all over the internet. If you take a look, everyone is out there in tampa bay, the water is so low at low tide and the fear is this water is going to come up so suddenly, you know, just stay away. Perhaps faster than a man could run, like the bay of fundie high tide. Ive been there, thats scary. Looks like the southern tip of marco island, if we understand that this radar is four to five minutes behind. Yep. We have every reason to believe the southern tip of marco island, which is marked by tall highrises, is emerging into a brief period of sunny skies and calmer winds. The eye of the hurricane. And do we have any reason, why ke extrapolate from that, bill, that thats hopeful. Its good, because if you look to the right of your screen, where you see those purples and those reds, if we have the 120 mile per hour winds, they would likely be in this region here. It would be nice to save a little bit of property and some roofs if we could keep that over you know, we dont need to know not like its going to miss everyone if its over land, but at least for a while its over swampy areas and not hitting highly populated areas. At this point were trying to minimize the amount of damage that could be possible, but as brian was saying, brian was wondering, go out a little further, hes wondering if were now getting this eye, this is where marco island was, can we possibly have naples only go through this eyewall and not have to go through the northern eyewall and go through the eastern eyewall, so thats kind of one of the questions and thats just saving some peoples rooftops, some peoples trees, structural damage type things. As weve been saying, none of that makes a difference whatsoever with the storm surge, because the storm surge is going to come in on the backside of the storm. As soon as it passes, and it does look like marco island is getting into that eye. Lets see how wide the eye is. I havent done this in a while. Because the eye is going to go over the top of sarasota and tampa, too. Last measurement, and the eye itself is now about 17, about 18 miles wide, brian. Roughly half what it was at this time at one point it was about 30, yes. Control room, if you can still get that periscope picture from marco island, there it is. Its grainy. This is through a window, what we can assume is hurricane glass. Weve already even in this rudimentary grainy picture weve seen a wind direction shift, but if theres to be an eye and you can be convinced thats brightening sky, it will be quite obvious when it comes. Perhaps not all regions of marco island will see it. Perhaps this is more inland. Perhaps this is more to the north. We dont know exactly, but its 15 miles wide. From the radar edge, it looks like all of marco island is going to go into the eye, so id say if we have this shot and were still getting it up in the next five to ten minutes when we return to this shot, those palm trees will just be barely blowing in the breeze. We have Jacob Soboroff is standing by. He is in naples, florida. Jacob, what do you have . At the place we were sheltering, we came outside to see what was going on. Already, this is not storm surge. This is rain from the wind, regular old flood, and this is a sight for sore eyes here, as a matter of fact. Some of the First Responders are also sheltering at the location where we are, as well. I want to bring you over here to show you this, because this is really important. If, in fact, the water does get any higher, we want to make sure that these fire trucks, and this is north Collier County fire rescue, you want to make sure these fire trucks are actually able to get out and rescue the folks in this community. Weve heard just the latest news from Collier County that 71,000 homes in this area are without power. We can feel it right now. Were an hour away from the eyewall getting here, but these gusts are starting to get stronger and stronger. Again, the hope for this vehicle right here is its able to get out of here and the reason it is here is because the same reason were here, as well. We anticipate we should be able to get out after the storm, too. Very concrete, fortified, very safe, but even without the storm surge, as i said, brian, were already looking at about, i dont know, at least a half a foot of flooding were all standing in right now. All right, jacob, thank you. I have news for you, that Engine Company in north collier is not going to want their apparatus up to the axles in rain water, so i bet if they can see this, they are going to come out and want to move it. I want to show two things now. Number one, lets go quickly to the Weather Channel to show their correspondent in almost waist this is Business District in miami, and locals will perhaps recognize this intersection. Lets listen for just a second. This water is going to be gone by tomorrow morning, and the wind is going to back off later on tonight and first thing tomorrow morning as the hurricane continues to move north faster and weaken. Lets go to mike getting a pretty good storm itself in the naples area. Mike, whats the latest on the west coast . All right, so thats mike seidel. Mike seidel outside a Hotel Entrance in miami. Jolene kent is in are you in miami beach, jolene . Ft. Lauderdale. Forgive me. Reporter ft. Lauderdale. Yeah, were in ft. Lauderdale, and we are now seeing officially the worst of the day so far. The next four hours are expected to bring tons of wind and rain. We are standing in the middle of cyprus creek road, one of the main thoroughfares in ft. Lauderdale. Im going to take you across this abandoned street here, brian, and show you what weve seen. We have some newly downed trees right here. We have some pretty significant swaying of signs, and what you need to know about this area is that this is the outer band. Not prevented some pretty significant damage, major winds, pelting rain, and ft. Lauderdale continues to be under this curfew.
