At this hour, seven still undecided seats remain along with flipping seven governors mansions, 336 state legislative seats for a total of 380 in the trump era and multiple state house claimers. The republicans try to claim that people are illegally voting by wearing disguises. The president said, quote, the republicans dont win. Thats because of potentially illegal votes. When people get in line that have absolutely no right to vote, they go around in circles, sometimes they go to their car, put on a different hat, put on a different shirt, come in and vote again. Up from continued, if you buy a box of cereal you have a voter id. They try to shame everybody by calling them racist when you say you want voter id. But voter id is very important thing. His estranged wife said she was not involved and both she and his first wife issuedstatement istatements saying he had never been violent. A bipartisan bill to help protect special counsel Robert Mueller from being fired has been blocked from moving forward by Senate Majority leader Mitch Mcconnell. Jeff flake and chris coons tried to bring the vote to the floor yesterday but were prevented from doing so by mcconnell. In response to mcconnells decision, senator flake says that he will not vote to confirm any more of President Trumps judicial nominees until the senate votes on the mueller bill. The move and the need for flakes critical vote, complicated mcconnells top priority of confirming dozens of conservative judges before the end of the year. The senator from arizona says he is ready to stand firm with his threat. Ive used this leverage once with regard to judges. It was to receive a vote on tariffs, which we did. According to a new report, special counsel Robert Mueller is investigating whether long time Trump Advisor Roger stone has tried to intimidate and discredit a witness who is contradicting his version of events about his contact with wikileaks. The wall street journal reports that in grand jury sessions and in interviews, prosecutors have repeatedly asked about Text Messages, emails, online postings involving stone and his former friend randy stone. Muellers team is investigating whether stone knew in advance about wikileakss releasing of democratic emails. Film maker david lugo has told the journal he has testified before the grand jury about a blog post stone helped him write. Another businessman says he was questioned about the reaction to allegedly threatening messages sent by stone. In an email sent to the wall street journal stone denied any effort to intimidate krediko. A spokesperson for muellers office declined to comment. Roger stone had text message conversations with his friend just six days before wikileaks began releasing the emails of john podesta. According to copies of phone records obtained by nbc news provided by stone, he texted stone on october 1st, 2016. Big news on wednesday followed by now pretend you dont know me. Stone replied, great. Hillarys campaign will die this week. Two days later on october 7th wikileaks released its first dump of emails stolen from john podesta. The Justice Department offered several reasons why the firing of Jeff Sessions doesnt violate the constitution. There have been 160 instances in which nonsenate the officials also argued that even before sessions forced resignation it had advised the white house that the president could lawfully name whittaker as attorney general. Meanwhile a judge has set a hearing for next month on the state of marylands lawsuit challenging whittakers appointment and seeking to have Deputy Attorney general Rod Rosenstein named as the acting attorney general. In his first public speech as acting attorney general yesterday, whittaker jokingly addressed his appointment. One thing hasnt changed in all of this change at the department of justice. You may have heard. Theres been a change or two at the department of justice. The Trump Administration will always be a hlaw and order administration. Mike whittaker has a background both as a u. S. Attorney and as chief of staff at the Justice Department. That fully qualifies him to be our acting attorney general. The president thought he was smi t simply the best choice to do that. The American People can be very confident that the right steps will be taken. Its not being well received by leadership in the republican par party. Jeff flake is not prioritizing the concerns of those closest to trump and who want to carry out the president s bidding. I think senator flake wants to make it clear that he left the senate with the issue and the concerns of most of the American People presented to those who are expected to lead and carry out the desires of those who went to the election box on election day. Weve been hearing a lot of reports lately about who special counsel Robert Mueller might indict and why. But is there any indication of the timeline of when all of this may actually happen . Not as of now. People are certainly expecting very soon, perhaps before the end of the month and certainly before the end of the year, but theres a lot of attention on whether he will be able to continue his investigation given the current leadership of the doesnt of justi department of justice and the attorney general. Theres a lot of support to making sure he has the resources he needs to make sure the American People get the answers they want.
