Well get some poll numbers out to get your thoughts on them because we have a lot of numbers to discuss. A new nbc news poll found voters do not like our choices for president ial candidates. So lets look at the numbers. 68 of all voters say they could not see themselves supporting trump. 61 cannot see supporting cruz and 58 cannot see supporting clinton. Do those numbers surprise you . Those arent good numbers. I think theyre higher than anyone would ever expect especially since the two frontrunners of the party are currently very high. But i think that this kind of its a reflection of this campaign. Its gotten nastier on both sides so i think thats a reflection of what youre seeing. Another poll shows that voters do want change, 58 prefer a president ial candidate who will bring greater changes even if he or she is less experienced and tested versus 38 who want a more experienced candidate even if he or she brings fewer changes to the current policies. So would these numbers actually suggest that voters may be more likely to support a republican like trump or cruz . I think thats what its suggesting and thats someone like john kasich, who is a governor who has lower numbers. I think thats why youre seeing Bernie Sanders doing so well. People are looking for outsiders. Bernie sanders is experienced but in a different way than Hillary Clinton. When you look at a hypothetical general election matchup this is really interesting. The polls show clinton leads trump by 11 points. 50 to 39 . But clinton is ahead of cruz by just two points, 46 to 44 . So of course the antitrump campaign is going to like the numbers. Why is cruz a better candidate to face off again clinton . I think thats what youre seeing the people who are rallying behind cruz. A lot of cruz cruz is not very liked in congress but kind of the good enough candidate right now. He is, you know, leading donald trump in the matchup.
