Even crazier, theres also reports that president obama almost made it as far as the oval office the other day. Almost did i lose a golf ball in here . And with that, heres your hump day edition of scrambled politics. At the secret service, congressional hearing yesterday, one congressman had a simple solution to avoid some of the mistakes made in the 2011 white house shooting. Again, simple thing. Candidates are plucked only from that agency. Theyre evaluated on professionalism, fitness, individuality, creativity, and we think attractiveness has something to do with it. And thats your morning dish of scrambled politics. For more on the secret Service Security breach, im joined now by Chicago Sun Times reporter lynn sweet. Lynn, good morning to you. Good morning. So the secret service story, it just seems like it keeps getting worse. And as we watch these new Security Breach bombshells continue to drop, the big question this morning i think a lot of lawmakers and a lot of americans have is our president in danger . Well, i think the thing to remember is Nothing Happened in these other incidents. More than the fencejumping incident, the other revelation that happened in these string of stories is that he was in the elevator in atlanta with an armed with a Security Guard who had arms a gun on him and his detail didnt know it. Thats perhaps more serious. You know, during the testimony at the house hearing on tuesday, it did seem like there was some commonsense things that the secret service was not doing. You know, people in washington wonder just why isnt the fence higher around the white house . So i do think the president is safe because in the end, Nothing Happened. But on the other hand, you cant underestimate the seriousness of these breaches. Yeah, and lynn, when you mentioned that hearing, i want to touch on that because Julia Pierson who we just saw right there, Julia Pierson is in charge of the secret service. And you know, shes catching a lot of heat this morning because lawmakers didnt appear very satisfied with what she said. She didnt really answer the questions that they were asking her. A lot of them were yes or no, and it seems like she danced around them. Is this going to hurt her job . Is her job on the line . Shes new, so perhaps not. But i think her credibility already has taken a beating before the House Committee and oversight and government reform. Part of what she probably didnt realize is that she needed to show more overt concern than she did. You know, i dont know her. Maybe shes a very cool and collected person, but it was clear that what lawmakers want both democrat and republican is to show some, i guess, outrage at what happened on her watch. Yeah. With her saying shes taken responsityway from that hearing saying they just dont believe her. Thank you so much, lynn sweet. And just ahead, the uproar over caffeineinfused underwear . First buzz is next. No. In the basement. Why cant we just get in the running car . Are you crazy . Lets hide behind the chainsaws. Smart. Yeah. Ok. If youre in a horror movie, you make poor decisions. Its what you do. This was a good idea. Shhhh. Be quiet. Im being quiet. Youre breathing on me if you want to save fifteen percent or more on car insurance, you switch to geico. Its what you do. Head for the cemetery i know what my money is doing. I rebalanced my portfolio on my phone. You know what else i can do on my phone . Place trades, get free real time quotes and teleport myself to aruba. I wish. Welcome back. In your first buzz today, we are talking about caffeinatedinfused underwear. Why not . Well, this has been the news that its been marketed towards women, that its going to melt away the cellulite and the fat. Well, heres the skinny. The governments saying you got tricked. You got duped if you bought them. They do not work. Right now they are paying out 1. 5 million. Two companies are doing refunds for people that bought these. You mean you cant just lose weight by putting something on . No, unfortunately not. We actually have to move and exercise . The shapewear can squeeze you in an inch or two. Do you at least get the buzz from it . That would be nice. Speaking of more buzz oh, this is, you know, maybe a little controversy. If you are ever going to a high school lately, you can kind of get where they were going with this, but maybe they didnt do it in the right way. This is Devils Lake High School in north dakota. They have sent a message out, and theyve cracked down on no more yoga pants, no more skinny jeans and no more leggings. And heres the quote of the day. The assistant principal says the new dress codes a way to prevent distracting teachers and other students. Really. Thats creepy. Teachers . That whole statement. They could have left out the distracting the teachers. Exactly. What are the kids going to wear now . Theyll say it wasnt schoollike or something. Im angie goff, and this is first look.
