Donald trump is guaranteed an overwhelming victory in this home state according to all the polls. Both front runners have suffering losses in recent contests. New polls of warning signs ahead for both party front runners. We begin with our correspondence. Jacob, lets start with you with the Trump Campaign talking about major over haul. What does your report tells you. Reporter it was three weeks ago that trump hired convention manager, a big hire and we heard of policy speeches thats going to come. Then a couple of weeks ago, we started to see changes in the candidate himself on the trail that his speeches were much shorter, he actually showed up on time or early to rallies, small things. He always had localized statistics of unemployment and a sharper message and rick wylie and now we are hearing of this big new shift thats on top of all of it which is now we have one of the top Campaign Officials resigning, steward jollies. They are planing the campaign on spending big in upcoming states. 20 million allocated for that. Trump likes to brag about how little he spends less than anybody on ads and on anything. Now, they have this big new budget. We have somebody reports only to the bus. Thats trump. It is a shift as i said is taking place over the last few weeks. It is starting to happen, a lot of people says of all the talk of change, he never did anything and now he has over the past few weeks. Now we are going to see a different kind of campaign run and reaching out to delegates. New ads in california, it is no doubt, major ship, andrea. It is, jacob rasco, thank you for your reporting. He ends up in the bronx and he was booed in the bronx. Reporter booed in the bronx and asked about new york values and you saw him saying hey, i was talking about liberal democratic values. That was not he said back in january. With that said, new york could always look like an uphill battle for ted cruz. It was not a state where he would be a natural fit. Of course, you should win big in new york. Ted cruz won big in texas. With that said, cruz did not play here necessarily as much as he could have. He was in western new york and upstate new york, he moved fairly to other states, mid atlantic states. Places like pennsylvania and maryland. Hes not looking to new york as a place he can peal off many delegates from trump. John kasich has a similar strategy. Cruz is polling behind john kasich in new york. I spoke with john kasichs strategists this morning, they are looking to campaign in new york. I will tell you delaware is not a place for John Kasich Campaign seizing themselves. It is a winner takes all states. John kasich has been eliminated. For cruz tonight, if donald trump finishes as strong as expected with 90 delegates or all of them. Then for cruz, he need to win 98 of the remaining delegates in order to lock up the domination. It is an impossibility, the campaign is looking to compete hard as this goes to a second ballot. Thats why you see cruz working that delegate strategy. Hally, jackson. Christian welker. How does the Clinton Campaign define victory . They are ahead and dont expect to lose new york. What is victory . Reporter they would say a win is a win. What they are aiming for tonight andrea is a double dames point bridge digit win. That would put this race out of reach mathematically for senator sanders. Thats their target goal. Thats of course, their homet n hometown, thats the place they voted in the past 16 years. Shes really run a Campaign Based on the fact that shes from new york and served two terms as senator here and casting herself as the democratic that got things done. Shes spent a number of days going after Bernie Sanders for that daily news. And andrea, we have seen this race gets really early between the democrats yesterday no exception when senator sanders accused Hillary Clinton. The Hillary Clinton campaign categorically denied that and calling the allegation destructi destructive. Of course, the challenge for secretary clinton if he wins the nation is how to unify the parties moving forward. 30 says that theyll not get behind her in the general election. Kasie hunt, is there any signs theyll scale back and start to be less aggressive in the criticism. This lawsuit surprised a lot of people as it goes in 20 or 30 state parties thats aligned with these victory joints, fund raising groups. This is something that animates a lot of people who has been supporting sanders and who have been giving him money. It is particularly frustrates the party because Bernie Sanders has not jumped into raising money for other democrats as much. I know from sanders sources they say he made up his mind after nevada that he was going to go forward and stay in this race no matter what all the way until the District Of Columbia votes on june 14th. I personally would be surprised if anything change from that plan and i think you know you are seeing a little bit of a back and forth within the Sanders Campaign about the best tone to take and the best way to approach the back half of this race. The margins tonight will help show some of that to us. You have also seen sanders is changing his Campaign Style a little bit the last couple of days. Walking ovall over in new york. Andrea, almost, the voter and the countries are saying none of the above. 68 of all American Voters end up saying they could not see themselves voting for donald trump and you have 61 of them saying the same thing for ted cruz and Hillary Clinton. Andrea, one of those three people will end up being the president of the United States unless something shocking absolutely happens. The question becomes, how does that person ends up governing. These are numbers that we have not seen before. Americans are saying they dont like any of these people right now. What do you attribute Hillary Clintons negatives just jumping up the last month. It is democrats and particularly Bernie Sanders voters whos becoming much more negative for him. Thats up from our past poll and to put that in perspective, we never saw that kind of number when in the bruising 2008 between Hillary Clinton and barack obama. Their favorable numbers were in the positive territorial by their arrival side. There is a situation and casey was aleutilotting how the sande Campaign Going forward. You can tell that this competitive race as it is going on has start to damage her. I dont think there is any questions that he will stay in this race until june 14th, which is the final primary in dc and through california where they think they got a big shot. How he handles it and what kind of message and the speech he gives in College State pennsylvania in penn state campus tonight, depending on what the numbers are. If she wins big tonight and he comes out aggressive against her on policy but against her. Thats going to be a strong signal that this is not going to end nicely. The other signal is the lawsuit they had against the dnc over the over filing situation and as well as what kristen and casey were talking about is criticisms on the fund raising joint committee. It is the same joint committee as obama had in 2008 and 2012. Sanders campaign signed an agreement, i understand, according to the dnc, they signed an agreement but they have not used it. They signed for the agreement for the same kind of committee. There is no question that the dnc has put it up on the scale in favor of clinton. They are in her corner even though they are saying they are being down in the middle of this. Lets talk about trump and how trump is viewed by john kasich voters. We talked about how democratic races got nastier. It does not compare of what we see on the republican side. 71 had a negative view of donald trump and 56 of voters had a negative view of ted cruz. This is going to go all the way to the republican convention. Thats going to be hard to unify the party. Republicans have a lot more work to do. Mark, you are the expert. On the democratic side which is a closely fought race tonight. Democratic parties are a lot more liberal than 2008. That benefited Bernie Sanders and want to see how it compares to 200 8. If those exit polls look like 2008 when it come to moderate verses liberals, that to me is kind of a pretty, clear win for clinton. You have to go out and earn every vote. You have to persuade them and make them your case to them that the issue you care about are the same ones that shes been fighting for her entire career. Shes been a leader on the progressive front on issues Like Health Care and education and improving income working women through equal pay and you know shes been recognized by groups thats been on the front line of these young people cared about, planned parenthood endorsing her to be on the front line of Womens Health and fighting for lgbt americans. If you go out and make your case strongly. I believe that the people that support Bernie Sanders will understand that is a consequence. She has a 58 negative rating, say that they could not vote for her. I think the numbers are higher among the republicans who say they would not vote for her. What happens in an election is people have a choice between two candidates. When they look at that choice, they weigh them carefully and what each side would mean in terms of their lives. I believe when Hillary Clinton is up against ted cruz or donald tru trump, not only Bernie Sanders voters will be voting. A whole a lot of swings finding the republicans are out of date. What happens if she wins her home state, her adopted home state by a single digit by a smaller than the expected margin. That further motivate Bernie Sanders to win the campaign. A win is a win. What matters particularly at this stage is adding to the delegate margin. If we add towards delegate margin while we are taking it off the map, it makes the mountain he got to climb steeper. I dont believe that Trump Campaign was staff inside a way that people could go to the Capitol Hill Club and talk to republican members in congress and essentially look, everything you know about donald i am not going to tell you all that is not true. Here is what i can tell you about the guy and the campaign. Th the effort is telling of the next stage of what donald trump and the candidates mean. Most politicians, you will not need to run a breaking news banner here. Most politicians will make a decision based on their own interest, that means on polling and how he looks in the state and numbers. It may have more of an impact. And there is no surprise, also that these candidates the front runners will certainly trump cruz and clinton. They have something in common. And thats very high negatives. Although you know talking to people at the state levels, they acknowledged the negative problems but they see it as a lesser of two evils. Trump is significantly more negative than clinton. Clintons numbers are rigged in. People have pretty well established views of her. I think everyone knows this is going to be a nasty and pretty negative. It is going to be about trying to figure out how to get a little bit ahead of your opponents in terms of offering something a little more positive. I dont know if we have seen that quite yet from trump or cruz. The Sanders Campaign is more less negative than obama and clinton were eight years ago. We heard from joel benenson. He does feel this was worst. He was on the other side eight years ago. The mayor, on morning joe today on the way how sanders is handling this campaign. Should Bernie Sanders get out of the race if clinton wins . I dont tell the candidates what the do. Bernie sanders feels hes sparking a difference in this country and it is a valuable discussion. If Hillary Clinton wins strongly tonight which i believe she will. She will be the nominee. There is no question. What Bernie Sanders and his movement should focus on is the iss issues and mobilizing the people for the general election and beyond. It is not just about a single election. It is certainly not about the primary elections. He of course, is a Hillary Clint clintons supporter. What do you expect well hear from Bernie Sanders tonight at his state college. For the last ten months attacking on big business and wall street and Hillary Clintons ties to the elite class. I dont think joel is right. I dont think it is a particularly Nasty Campaign at all. Up until the last month or two, it was a respectful campaign. They were running for r the same office, they cannot both have it. They have to criticize each other and saying the other person is less well equipped for it. Of course, there will be attacks. It is politics. Andrew. C at a certain point if she has a lead in delegates. Should he, Bernie Sanders thinking of not getting out but how to frame the message or how to frame the issues and make it less personal or is it all in . Right, well, we saw sort of in 2008, it became clear eventually to Hillary Clinton after the meet me in ohio and in barack obama. She was still winning stage. She did scale back the negativity. She still ran a krast campaign but it was less negative. Sanders started basically never mentioning Hillary Clinton and it is gotting more negatien mor. Hes ramped it up as pooppose t scaling it down. The hard thing, andrea, i think he will not back away is my guess. He will keep on winning some states here and there. I dont think hes likely to win tonight in new york but who knows. When you are still winning states and you have 28,000 people coming a rally, it is hard to take your foot off the gas and sort of coast to the finish line en if you knven if. My guess is we dont see a ramping down in that rhetoric in the way clinton did in 2008. Abby, i see you nodding. There is a time clinton says we got to elect these democrats and vote for their conscious. As things heated up, they got more on sanders. The principle is true. Some democrats are going to vote for who they want to vote for. I dont think it will be in their best interest pushing sanders out expecting these people to come home. So the new York City Housing Authority has been so starved of federal funds and it has 17 billion thousand dollars worth of capitol needs. You would need to invest in 17 billion and the new York City Housing Authority only received some where 2 million to endorse in that. I am brithe conversation of poverty and in equality has largely been driven by the Sanders Campaign.
