part of a decade, and i really feel like we might be on the goal line here with something tangible and real that would really make a difference in cities like mine. roads and bridges, transit, passenger rail, i mean major investment in all of those areas are a part of the bipartisan infrastructure framework of $1.2 trillion, and it feels ream. it feels like we might really get this done. the second takeaway for me was certainly all of the talk of bipartisanship, and i really saw the president and the administration's commitment to that for this particular package. and what really was a new perspective for me was the idea that there's something bigger here than just the package itself. there's an opportunity to pass something important in washington with republicans and democrats working together, and that that is to the president an important message to send to the country and to the world that our form of government is functional again. so, obviously, somebody who is a mayor and has to bring people
