right? >> i think that's right, ari. and of course that will be much more friendly terrain, because mitch mcconnell will fundamentally be controlling the process. and i think something to watch for over the next couple of weeks as this moves inexorably towards a senate trial to what extent republicans will try to dictate witnesses can be called and how much time each side can have, and to what extent chief roberts who will be presiding over the trial will be promulgating those rules. i don't think we know that yet. i think in this phase, ari, in some ways most observers, i think all of us know fundamentally what the outcome is going to be. you're going to have a couple of articles of impeachment on the floor, and donald trump in all likelihood is going to be the third president in u.s. history to be impeached. we just don't know whether it's going to happen before we put on the 2020 glasses or after. >> gene? >> yeah, i agree. and jeremy mentioned something that i'm kind of focused on but
