lobbied republican senators here within capitol hill within the last week of trying to get them to support this legislation, even she could not get them to move forward. so then as far as where this goes, the issue is not going away even if this bipartisan independent commission does not continue as it currently stands. we are looking to see if house democrats would bring about a select committee to go it alone, to pursue an investigation and probe the incidents surrounding january 6th in a partisan way. they would have subpoena power, move things forward on a partisan basis. >> well, you cued it up right there. we will ask that of the house democrat next. >> joining us now is democratic congressman steve cohen of tennessee. congressman, good morning. good to see you. >> thank you. nice to be with you this morning. >> so, senator mitch mcconnell has said we don't need a commission on january 6th because the fbi is looking into it, there are several dmits looking into it. is yours one of those committees and will that be enough?
