start of their journey of their new lives in the united states. they have a very long way to go, but they at least are inside american borders. the vast majority of those flown out are in limbo. they're not in afghanistan anymore but nor are they in the united states. they are in places like the air force base here in doha and germany and various third countries. the state department has been pulling in all sorts of diplomatic favors, asking countries throughout central asia, the middle east and europe can you temporarily house some of these people while we put them through the screening processes, the security vetting, the coronavirus testing before they will be allowed to come to the united states. of course, we should say there are thousands and thousands more still trapped inside
