you talk about gas masks. it's important to kind of put things into perspective, and what was going through your mind, congressman? you have a gas mask in your left hand, a bag. you're a member of congress in this extraordinary building that is the representation of our democracy and here you are having to deal with the possibility of putting on a gas mask or worse. what were some of the thoughts that were going through your mind as you kind of weighed what was going on and what this meant? >> i wasn't the only member who didn't know that there were masks under the chairs in the house chamber. i've been a member for years and when we were instructed by the capitol police to get our gas masks from under our chairs, i was confused. i didn't know what that plastic box was. it was double wrapped.
