>> reporter: you can hear it on their minds here at the tick tock diner, where a lot of candidates come to put their ear to the ground when campaigning. what i heard this morning from people number one they're not surprised the election was close because they saw a big dimpbs between the two candidates. another was talking about women's issues, health care and masking and vaccine mandates and another man said to me, he is upset with taxes. he had a house, he sold it and leaving this state because he's going to retire next year because he can't afford the taxes. in his speech last night, the governor said that he hears people in new jersey. he went on and touted his progressive record on such things as advancing the minimum wage, health care and education and jose, he made a promise last night he's going to listen to new jersey's residents and together hopes everyone will be able to move into the future that way.
