So officials had begun had been unable to use telephones and Computer Network systems. There isnt enough food and other supplies at some shelters as thousands of people fled their homes. Local volunteers here provided evacuees with handmade rice balls and clothes. Translator im so glad because we didnt have breakfast today. Torrential rainfall also caused damage in neighboring Tochigi Prefecture. A land sliend in kanuma city. Another man who fell into a storm drain was rescued but later died. Water gushe into residential areas. Homes were submerged and warped by the force of the water. Stranded people waved to rescue teams on helicopters. The helicopters were used to air lift people from their rooftops and balconies. One man clung to an electricity pole as the water covered his legs. He was rescued about two hours later. And another levee broke on friday morning flooding a large area. Osaki city Officials Say the shibui river has breached a levee. The break is 20 meters long and swaths of land are being inundated.
