The conversation came after a massive assault ride a prorussian rebels on the Railway Junction of debeltseve that pushed kiev to pull thousands of troops out of the town. Ukrainian president Petro Poroshenko is now calling for International Peacekeepers to help. Petro poroshenko we think the best option would be a Police Auction from the european union. There have been reports that there has been progress on that. Ukraine said if the fighting continued it would not move away those weapons. Theres a question of whether or not we are going to be able to see an implementation of the ceasefire if the rebels continue advancing. Genie what more do we know about the situation in debeltseve where ukrainian troops pulled out yesterday . Kristina the rebels say they now control it. Ukraine has said about 2500 ukrainian soldiers had retreated from there. Ukraine says 22 soldiers were killed in the last few days. Rebels are claiming more. There are reports there has been an attack near a city called mariupol. A small town east of it. This is this has seen fighting since late summer. If debeltseve has been taken by the rebels, if there is an attack near mariupol, that could create more of a frontline and therefore ukraine could argue ceasefire is not being met and the rebels are advancing in and therefore we cannot follow the ceasefire as well. Genie thank you for that. Reporting from kiev. Luke brown was just outside debeltseve when troops were pulled out wednesday. He sent this report. Luke ukraines army beats a retreat from debeltseve. Weve had two experts here. Over the past month and a half weve had to deal with 200 corpses. 100 more were sent to another morgue. Luke in the aftermath of the retreat, military leaders meet in a secret headquarters. Their evacuation plan might pass the ukrainian high command, that they accuse of abandoning soldiers in debeltseve to their fate. What went wrong was down to the incompetence of the Senior Leadership and the carelessness of the officers higher up. Luke debeltseve is the latest symbolic and strategic defeat for the ukrainian army. Despite that, the fighters insist they may have lost the battle but not the war. Greece sense and its official request for a six months extension of its bailout loan, despite heavy skepticism from the eu. The situation in greece tops Business News with kate. Greece has been centerstage. Finally, action. Kate weve seen the official request going into the head of the eurogroup. In 21st century fashion it is confirmed on twitter. The dutch finance minister tweaking he had received the request to extend the bailout loans. This after the current agreement expires at the end of february. Greece has agreed to honor all of its debts and have the extension overseen by detroit got the imf, European Central bank, and european commission. Troika that the government had vowed not to deal with. Greek leaders say they want to achieve fiscal balance but will not accept austerity. It is a new sixmonth assistance package. The 19 finance ministers will meet in brussels friday afternoon as eurogroup is saying this request opens the door to compromise. We could be seeing a good result from athens. Genie a lot riding on this meeting. How are the markets responding . Kate the european markets opened in the red a lot of skepticism. We have seen the markets turning into positive territory as details of the greek request out. The Athens Stock Exchange up over 2. 5 . Other markets responding well. For more analysis of this we turn to michael a Market Strategist in london. Thank you for joining us. Walk us through how the markets are reacting. Michael sometimes turbulent negotiations between greece and creditors, markets have been relaxed. We are seeing european stocks reached fresh highs. Looking at european bond markets, you are seeing none of the contagion we saw in 2012, portuguese, spanish and italian bonds at low yields against bunds. The market seems to be taking the view that the prospects of a greek exit from the eurozone or grexit is low. Even if that were realized, the situation could be contained. Kate you think the chance of the eurogroup and greece will reach a deal by the friday deadline, you think the chances are good . Michael the market seems to think so. The market is thinking the grexit is a 20 call. I and mark second i am more circumspect. There seems to be a little conditionality attached to this. Not the increasing budget surpluses the troika is looking for in the existing program. It is unclear where the middle ground lies. Ultimately i think greeces government has a dtrilemma. It wants to keep greece in the euro, remain in government, and deliver economic relief. Im not sure they can get all three. Kate what about details about the request. Doesnt seem the doesnt seem the greek government is capitulating or are they standing their ground . Michael i dont think it is capitulation. One of the concessions is the imf is still in the frame. That is something which is somewhat different. In terms of the commitments to fiscal balance, they were running a fiscal surplus before interest of 1. 5 of gdp last year. Is this a relaxation . It is certainly not tightening which is what the program demands. It is not, i am not convinced that there is real middle ground. It would mean significant backtracking on austerity by brussels and that would send a clear signal to governments and Political Parties elsewhere in europe. I do not think the eurozone wants to go down that road. Kate thank you so much for joining us. We will be following this story through the day.
