And you know he did a lot of work with Johns and kind of. Some of them like that where the instrumentation was kind of stripped down you know it's interesting to hear a trio that's panelists you don't hear that very often Yeah exactly but you know. Rhythm Section dominates 100 percent open Jones. Yeah we get to the next voice you're going to hear in the studio is. Programmer in training you know has joined us. And we're going to switch gears yet again to pianist which might be a new word for Brad. He's learned about flutists and pianist and saxophonist today as he's over there crunching numbers for talk about practice. And we're to switch gears over to pianist McCoy Tyner suite so we started off with . Joe feral playing in the Elvin Jones trio which was Jones and Jim Garrison why oh yeah there you go you had a perfect fit you had McCoy Tyner and John Coltrane you have the Coltrane Quartet That's right. On a listen to a tune that's from a similar era but not the Coltrane Quartet. But 1961 ole coach Coltrane Ok. This is a tune the McCoy Tyner wrote. And like this one really has these kind of language kind of just a ton of notes you know. And this song he's much more reserved in his kind of play into the piece and kind of you know that expressive as as he generally is which considering he's playing with Coltrane to be reserved is is kind of an interesting choice and John's actually a little sit in the back seat on this one a little bit too and there is kind of service in the tune more than anything rather than. Their chops What about. What about. Yeah. There's some beautiful music there from. McCoy Tyner from his album The Real McCoy . Tyner on piano and Joe Henderson playing saxophone Ron Carter it was the basis in our own Jones at the drum kit and.
